Reichsbund betrayed, Dundorf's future looks dim underneath radical theocraticMarch, 4482Dosmund - In a stunning move of betrayal and backstabbing, the Confessional History Union has turned their back and entered into a midnight deal with the National Liberal Party which uprooted the Reich League from it's position of power within the government. Almost immediately the newly named Dosmund Stock Exchange found itself down nearly 200 points and the economic situation in Dundorf was downgraded by international institutions due to the "...return of a radical political party seeking to upend the stability of Dundorf." Representatives from the Reich League were informed by Chancellor Ferdinand Kohring, the first Reich League Chancellor of the stunning move as an ad hoc "Constitutional Convention" was called by the KHU and attempted to pass off the hard work of the Reich League as their own, not only did they attempt to do that but they called out the Reich League for not being compromising when the party called for an increase in the number of seats in the national legislation. Currently the national legislature has 125 seats, each deputy is responsible for roughly 796,873 Dundorfians which is incredibly absurd and shows little care for the Dundorfian citizens. Reich League and former Minister of the Interior Werner von Meyer noted that the careless shown by this government is incredible. The proposal for 650 would bring each deputy 153,244 Dundorfian citizens, bringing it closer to being able to represent nearly the 100 million Dundorfian citizens living in the country.
Chancellor Kohring decried the tactics used by the KHU and stated that the Dundorfian people had been misled and deceived.
"The KHU called themselves the saviors of Dundorf and saviors of democracy yet have done everything to ensure that they remain the theocratic overlords of Dundorf. It is both scary and unprecedented to see a religious party attempt to take one of the most progressive nations and sunder it with their backwards ideology and hateful rhetoric." The Chancellor called on the Dundorfian people to stand up and speak out against the abuses and called for "civil disobedience" where the KHU attempted to subvert civil government for their religious ideology.
"We are a nation of democracy and laws, not backwards religious ideology. They, without the knowledge of the Reich League appointed several religious officials to carry out government functions, that is a dangerous road to walk down. It's almost as if the Communist have come back as radical theologist and have wanted to implement their own "Religious Communism" on Dundorf." The Chancellor has been openly critical about the KHU-NLP coalition, especially with the dangerous tax income proposal that is dangerously toeing the line of communism, where those making 60,000 Dundorfian Marks are taxed at nearly 50%. Economist in Dundorf have already called the plan "...religious communism and dangerous."
Armed Forces refuse stand-down and police abuses run rampantFebruary, 4482Dosmund - An important piece of legislation on the floor would also allow localities to create their own laws and policies on police search, previously the law was enshrined in the constitution and protected by the constitution, now it has been ripped from the constitution and placed at the whims of local administrators. The Reich League has called for protests against this, the two states controlled by the Reich League have already stated that state law would remain the same. Chancellor Kohring called the move
"...dangerous, stupid and undemocratic. So when you speak out against the KHU's autocratic ideology, they will arrest you because local laws say that they can? That is incredible. It as almost as if we have traded the tyranny of communism for the tyranny of "religion". This is a move that we will openly fight against."In an even more stunning move, the once professional Dundorfian Armed Forces will become a "volunteer force" in "reserve". Chief of Staff of the Supreme Army Command has already stated that the professional army and air force units will not stand down; something that is backed up by Commander-in-Chief Chancellor Ferdinand Kohring, who noted that he would outright refuse such orders. General Field Marshal Eckhard Opitz, the Chief of Staff of the Supreme Army Commander and the one time Minister of Defense, openly stated that he will follow orders of the Commander-in-Chief and the move to "battlefield commissions" is a thing of the past and an means to cripple the Dundorfian Armed Forces even more. Local army and air force commanders have lodged protests with the Reich League and their representatives, this is a dangerous move for Dundorf which is seeking to cast off the domination of the Communist who crippled Dundorf.
