Internal Affairs Minister calls for companies to look into the posibility of producing emergency vehicles for Likatonia

Dec 4756

Likatonia's minister of internal affairs, Ron Mowia, announced plans to update the police and health vehicles that are run by the government. He said that the country need new vehicles to replace the aging ambulances millions use every year. He says this will also be a chance to make sure that new vehicles have all the latest equipment needed in Likatonia already in the vehicle, such as first aid kits in all health vehicles and certian new police weapons in their cars. This will make sure that the public workers are able to fight crime and save peoples lives more effiently than ever before.

He said to media across Terra that the government wants companies to give quotes to the Likatonian government concerning what they would produce and how much would it cost to buy them (in LODs). He said that the country needs new ambulances, rapid response health cars, police cars, police weapon vans and criminal/prisoner transport vans to hold criminals in transport. The ammount that will be bought by the government is unknown but will largely depend on the prices given by all of the companies. This is because the government has only get the right to spend 150 million LOD on this. Ron said by next year the government will make a choice on who to choose to give the contracts to.

Falcon Car Company announced that they would try and get at least one of the contracts. They said that they will offer to produce special versions of their celebration model with better brakes and suspension for the rapid response health car contract and police car contract in urban areas where the road network is good. The police cars will have handcuffs, emergency lights and sounds, traffic equipment and some space to store other important weapons in the boot. The emergency response vehicles will include first aid kits, defibrilators, emergency lights and sounds, space for 3 oxygen tanks and some spoace for any other heath equipment need. Most of this would be in the boot. They one car would cost the government 1,800 LOD. They also announced that the will be willing to produce special versions of the Outlander as rural health and police cars for 3,750 LOD.Thses would feature similar equipment in under a specially made tent covering over the boot of the car. The final contract they will fight for is the is for the police weaponary vehicles. They will offer the government a special transformation of their Transport van to carry all of the polices weapons for 1,900 LOD. These would have racks of handcuffs, walkie talkies, guns, flashlights, headgear and the ability to take out all of the vans boot fittings to put anything the force could want in the boot. All of these vehicles are already part of the force as Falcon Car got the contract to produce a small amount of all emergency vehicles to test out to see how good they would be. After hearing that their ambulances were not up to the standard of previous ones, they said they would focus on cars and weapon vans.

The government have asked that all qoutes for the vehicles be posted in the Likatonian National Newspaper and would like to hear the response for companies as soon as possible.

LAC 100-1 in testing

The LAC 100-1 has been a long awaited aircraft in Likatonia. LAC said it would be finished by 4750 but it has now only entered the testing phase. This is because of numerous problems the plane faced in design. However, LAC have released files to the press giving specifications of the aircraft and also told them that the aircraft would be reday for market next year.

Image
LAC 100-1 test aircraft

Capacity:
The aircraft will seat 140 people and just have economy seating.

Dimensions:
Length: 136.2 ft
Wing Span: 115 ft 2 in
Height: 35.8 ft

Performance:
Range: 2600 NM
Max Take off length: 6463 ft
Max Landing length: 4633 ft
Max Fuel Capacity: 30181 lb

Air Likatonia have told LNN that they are still interested in the aircraft and would purchase 10 of them to run international flights in Northern Seleya. They also told us if they think it is a good aircraft they may buy more of them in the future. Mr Henmann, the chairman of LAC has said that these orders have been vital in keeping the company going and making sure the model is finished. However thare has been calls that the government has bailed out the company numerous times. Prime Minister Domic Oakley says these claims are false and a fabrication from those who want to close down LAC as another brand to compete with.

Dominic Oakley announces government strategy for a better Likatonia

May 4757

Image
Oakley announcing to press the government plans

Prime Minister of Likatonia, Dominic Oakley, has told the press of the long term goals of the left-right coalition government. He says that they are all vital for the improvement of this country and a way that Likatonia would become a larger power but also more open to others. The first goal Oakley announced was to give the private sector more power. The government has done this by removing regulations that limit numbers of private power stations, schools and hospitals. They have also allowed private hospitals to be fully independent from government check ups and allow them to do whatever they like as long as it follows the law. He also announced that this means we can cut the budget and pay less in taxes as there would be a reduction in people using public healthcare. However, Oakley made sure to comfort people by saying that the government would invest in new emergency vehicles with a surplus in the budget and would not let the quality of public services fall.

He also announced plans that the defense minister, Phillip Virgil, made to expand the military. He says these are vague and not much has been put into practice now but stated it could be a future governments focus. This is beacuse most foreign policy is based on getting Likatonia into the Security Council to give Seleya a strong democratic voice and give more power to smaller countries.

The government has also been focused on economic reforms, mainly to balance the budget and make tax rates more competitive. Finance Minister, Mary Hatcher, thinks this will increase foreign investment in the country and mean that industry in Likatonia will all grow and prosper. She also stated that the country should implement a floating exchange rate to improve the countries economic standing and have an economy modeled after a power of Terra.

The final major sector of the government which is getting reformed is justice. This will include the abolishion of manditory minimums, removal of a national police service and the introduction of rewards for those who have done something good in society. Most of these plans have been the brainchild of justice minister, Alice Salisbury, who has wanted to change Likatonias police system for some time to reduce the change of covert operations going on in the national government and reward those who have helped our country succeed.

Oakley says these plans will strengthen Likatonia and will turn our country into a respectable power for other countries to listen to.

Estal and Spada ready to partecipate to the Likatonian tender to renew their emergency and law enforcement agencies' vehicles
Image
Spada Toro with the livery of a foreign police force which already uses this vehicle

This morning during a joint press conference, the CEOs of Estal and Spada announced their intention to participate in the tender launched by the Likatonian government to renew the car fleet of its security and police services and thus they are therefore among the first automotive brands to answer.

The decision to participate jointly in the tender comes in the middle of the negotiations between the two brands for a merger which will see the two companies continue to operate under the aegis of a new corporate group, GAES, Gruppo Automobilistico Estal Spada, thanks to the which it will be possible to better coordinate the industrial efforts of both brands so as to be able to reduce costs and improve economic-industrial strategies at national but above all international level.

With regard to the Likatonian tender, therefore, the two companies agreed to present their proposals in coordination so as to be able to cover as a single Istalian group most of the requests presented in the tender.
In detail, Estal offers its "Talentuoso" van aiming to win the tender's parts dedicated to the Ambulance and Prisoner/Criminal Transport vehicles, but an option as Police Van version has also been proposed.

Image Image Image
Estal Talentuoso as Criminal/Prisoner Transport and as ambulance, exterior and interior

The ambulance version will meet the quality standards applied in Istalia and will be equipped with all the appropriate instruments in a very bright sanitary compartment thanks to the LED ceiling lights and it will be easily sanitizable thanks to excellent materials. Furthermore, among its points of force there is the ease of maintenance: in fact, it is equipped with external technical doors which allow you to intervene and operate on the on-board systems in a short time, without needing to access the sanitary compartment or dismantle internal furnishings; in this way it is possible to reduce downtime, labor and research of any problem, as well as facilitate workers in normal maintenance operations, significantly cutting the costs and expenses related to vehicle maintenance, which have a great weight in the running economy of the vehicle.

Regarding the tender's parts relating to the Police Vehicle and to the Rapid Response Health Car, it was the Spada who presented two proposals: the seadan "Zefiro" and the crossover "Toro". Born as luxury cars dedicated to high market segments, they are used in Istalia by most of its law enforcement agencies, State Police and National Gendarmerie, which as per long tradition they use Spada vehicles, set up and equipped to guarantee the best performance.

The Zefiro dedicated to the police will be able to boast a partial armor, shatterproof glass, polycarbonate and steel bulkhead to separate the rear seats from the front ones, and outside, on the roof, obviously the electro-acoustic devices such as the blue emergency lights, an adjustable beacon and a concealed panel with luminous writings aerodynamically integrated with the bodywork. Furthermore, it will obviously be equipped with a radio, an integrated IT system, on-board cameras (with auto recognition system of car plate), a long weapon holder and rechargeable LED torches, a defibrillator, portable cooling units and various other additional emergency devices, such as the fire extinguisher, signaling signs and cones.

Image
Spada Zefiro with the Istalian Police livery

The Toro, on the other hand, was presented both as a SUV for the police to join the Zefiro and as a multi-role rapid intervention unit, to be used therefore also as a rapid medical response car and as organ transport. It will be equipped with a very powerful engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive to always be performing regardless of the terrain; they will also be equipped with bi-xenon adaptive optical units and with components dedicated to patrolling, such as LED signs positioned on the roof. Both the interior and the boot are very large and can be modulated to meet different needs. The large interior space, stability on all terrains and supercar performance, therefore, make it the ideal car to cover long journeys in a very short time.

Both Estal and Spada made know they are ready to negotiate with the Likatonian governemnt to find the best compromise so to satisfay both sides.

Jepson Hayes Reacts to Recent Accusations

Jepson Hayes gave short statement concerning the attacks about seat C fro Valruzia, Indrala, Keymon, and Dolgova.

In our bid for Security Council Seat C we have faced much backlash from Valruzia, Indrala, Keymon, and Dolgova. They claim we are corrupt, even thought it has been proven otherwise, they say we funded a church, even though no such evidence arose, they say we disrespect sovereignty, even when Indrala infringed on the sovereignty of Hutori. But despite this, we are winning, despite their attacks we are receiving the support of many nations, Keymon lied to Terra when they said we wanted to federalize the WC, we want members to have a bigger say, if we wanted a Terran wide government then why would we put it in the hands of the Security Council? Dolgova siad we funded a church using tax payer money among other attacks, well Dolgova no investigation that has come out has proven this! Keymon says that Likatonia is unstable with the current Left-Right government, we will have you know that those government is more stable and has gotten more things done then previous left wing and right wing cabinets, we are hoping for a second term, and we have a 64 seat representation in the Senate the largest in decades, our government members introduce bills, we talk, we compromise, we vote, that is our government, and it works well. As for Indrala, they have spoken a very large lie, saying that
At the behest of his ministers, His Majesty has also pointed out Likatonia's seeming stance on increasing the power of the World Congress, which could infringe upon the sovereignty of all nations, as well as the neo-conservative ideology of the Conservative Republican Party, which indicates that it would likely push for the World Congress to be more interventionist, possibly against any government that does not have an elected head of state.
This is a lie, Indrala infringed on Hutorian sovereignty for one, and the CRP has remained largely anti interventionist, and in no part of the camping does Likatonia state they have a grudge against unelected heads of state. SO I say to Indrala Valruzia Keymon and Dolgova, you are spinning a web of lies, and that web is the very web that will trap you, the question is not what will happen if Likatonia wins, but will you accept it when we do.

Ron Mowia Announces Emergency Vehicles contracts

Dec 4757

Falcon Celebration health car

At miday today, minister of internal affairs, Ron Mowia, has announced which companies will receive contracts to build emergency services of Likatonia. The government announced a year ago that it will spend a maxium of 150,000,000 LOD to replace all of the outdated emergency vehicles in the country and posibly even grow the fleet.

Two different groups have competed for the contracts. These are the Likatonian based Falcon Car Company and the Istalian based Estal and Spada car companies which competed together. The government has announced it will give out 5 contracts to these companies to produce different vehicles.

The first contract contains the production of 5500 ambuances and 1000 Criminal transport vans. This contract has been awarded to the Estal Talentuoso. These will feature techonolgical equipment built into the vans with the ability to operate the on-board systems from the external doors for a short time. Furnishings are also dismantable.

The second contract contains the production of 700 Police weapons vans. This contract has been awarded to the Falcon Transport. These will feature dismatable weapon racks to store guns, torches, handcuffs and speed guns as well as space for other equipment for cones to be placed.

The third contract contains the production of 3500 Police cars. This contract has been awarded to the Spada Zefiro. These will have the ability to attach a steel bulkhead and will have an intergrated IT system into the cars.

The fourth contract contains the production of 300 Police and health cars for rural areas and 450 exculsive health cars. This contract has been awarded to the Spada Toro. These will feature all wheel drve control and a large boot to store all sorts of equipment.

The fifth contract contains the production of 1500 police cars and 1500 health cars. This contract has been awarded to the Falcon Celebration. These will feature space for all sorts of equipment in the boot and in special pockets which can store 3 oxygen tanks or cones depending on who is reciving the car.

The government hopes that the vehicles will have all been produced and be deluved to Likatonia in ten years time. Mr Mowia says this shows that the public sector is not being forgoten about and will never be forgot about by the coalition government. The government has spent 39.105 million LOD in total on this but expects to need more of the money given to this cause from the Senate to make sure all the cars arrive and to finish the furnishings.

Moderates party leader endorses second term of Left-Right coaliton

The leader of the Moderates, Laura Hart, endorsed a second term of the Left-Right coalition, saying that "it has done something that I have seen numerous cabinets fail at - it has created a united Government that has acted as a whole instead of failing because of internal divison."

She said that she also thinks a lot of the policies are doing good, and despite opposing some policies the left-right coalition passed, such as limiting abortion, she thinks that the Government has done things that will hopefully help more people and bring a bit of political stability to Likatonia. She said that while she respects that the Social Democrats won the most seats, the parties making up the coalition (CRP, Labour, Mod, Lib Dems) won a majority of votes and seats and she thinks this is a mandate for the coalition as people voted for it for a second time.

She says that she also thinks the Cabinet is good because it has "the right people in the right positions."

A party spokesperson also said the majority of members support entering into a second term of the coalition under Dominic Oakley.

IRP lays out sweeping Education Bill

West Bolton- Leaders of the IRP met today at the IRP HQ in West Bolton to lay out a sweeping reform on Likatonia Education. IRP Education Leader Anton Meinhard and IRP Party Leader Kyle Tolvelov laid out the main points for their signature legislation of this legislative cycle.

We are very proud of the work our party has done putting this piece of legislation together. Education is the key to the future for Likatonia and the Likatonia National Curriculum Enactment will provide the framework for a prosperous future.

The Likatonia National Curriculum Enactment under the current bill looks as follows:
Every state-funded school must offer a curriculum which is balanced and broadly
based and which:
1.0 - National Curriculum which all schools are REQUIRED to follow.

1.1 promotes the moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils
at the school and of society, and

1.2 prepares pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities and
experiences of later life.

2.2 The school curriculum comprises all learning and other experiences that each school
plans for its pupils. The national curriculum forms one part of the school curriculum.

2.3 Maintained schools in Likatonia are legally required to follow the statutory national
curriculum which sets out in programs of study, on the basis of key stages, subject
content for those subjects that should be taught to all pupils. All schools must publish
their school curriculum by subject and academic year online.2

2.4 All schools should make provision for personal, social, health and economic
education (PSHE), drawing on good practice. Schools are not free to include other
subjects or topics of their choice in planning and designing their own program of
education.

IRP Shakeup after Likatonia Terrorist Attack

West Bolton- With Likatonian people on ice after the terror attack in Clovisport the IRP Leader Kyle Tolvelov has declared he will step down in favor of Kora Vilma. Vilma served in the Likatonia military for 25 years before taking a spot in IRP leadership. Kora Vilma had this to say about her nomination and campaign for President:

I am extremely excited to announce my candidacy for President. The people of Likatonia deserve more from their government in terms of security and the past right-wing government stripped the military down and bent a knee to foreign companies. Isolationist policies have always worked best for Likatonia and thats what put Kyle Tolvelov on the map. As Trade and Industry leader he withdrew from numerous outdated treaties and it has benefited Likatonia. I look forward to doing more of the same in the defense industry.
