Kundrati's economic report 5393: Construction and investment boom, however shipbuilding in deep decline
The 5380s have seen Kundrati's growth once again in the economic space with the help of foreign investment and cooperation - however signs are becoming apparent that certain sectors of the Kundrati economy have become neglected.
For example, shipbuilding in Celania and the Kundrati south in general have been slowing down gradually from 5381 onward and have been growing into a steep decline from 5390 where ships being built have reached a 60-year low and is expected to conitnue on the downward trend. Celanijans and southerners in general have criticized the Government's policy on leaving the sector alone which could b a major problem moving forward - while Government handouts have been a-plenty there hasn't been much more investment in shipbuilding companies and, more and more, shipbuilders are going to bankruptcy court every year.
A similar story has been seen in Etxea where there are signs of a major recession - the island relies on tourism, shipbuilding and agriculture to break even and two of the three industries are on a steep decline. Agricultural customers have now beun to prefer food from Celania and Jildrath mainland as the Etxean food quality, while good, is no longer as enhanced as that of the mainland and have been out-competed more and more by foreign food supplies and quality. Local Etxean farmers have begun to protest over this situation and there is no sign of the situation slowing down.
Speaking of tourism, ever since the Build Build Build program started more tourists have merely used Etxea and the south as a transportation point to move them to the north - while the Pechan and North-Centre of the country have experienced unseen tourist booms (alongside continuing growth of infrastructure which will be seen in the next paragraph) the same cannot be said of the south. Gift shops around the south have begun to either see more and more losses or more and more closures, alongside similar stories for restaurants and leisure clubs which have resulted in a loss of revenue for the south's entertainment industry in general. Luzec continues to provide good entertainment for the local Kundrati audience which have also resulted in more and more entertainment-aligned industries moving to Luzec and the surrounding areas instead of staying in Etxea or in Jildrath.
While the south suffers, the north continues to grow. Metros in Riecny Brod, Luzec, and Leuansk have either been completed or are close to completion. Train service also continues to grow along most lines heading north though not necessarily lines heading south - usually it's people that either wish to explore the south, live in the south, or want to leave Kundrati from the south.
Highway work has slowly continued in all areas of Kundrati alongside cargo train infrastructure - in the 5380s there were problems with delays and cancellations that have begun to be ironed out, though unfortunately this has pushed the ETA for the end of construction to past 5400 - however most of the work is now being done in the south and the centre providing some help for the southern economy.
The semiconductor factory from the Lourrenais semiconductor company is still being worked on alongside the cooperation though work towards meaningful cooperation continues to blossom with plans for working together on joint products like computers and various cellular network technology. Speaking of technology, Hutori's Hotizon Technology, using Blackwell Technology in Luthori as a subsidiary, launching products like televisions, personal computers and laptops, and cell phones being launched in Kundrati which have already been seen in many households in Kundrati alongside Dundorf-made personal technology products. Hutori's Millard have also worked with Kundrati software developers and researchers from the University of Kundrati, Riecny Brod and the University of Kundrati, Papoc to work on artificial intelligence projects and how they can be integrated into technology with the Kundrati military having a keen interest in AI development and research as well.
In addition, Hutori's Carter Energy Group Artania - a subsidiary of the Carter Energy Group operating in the Artanian continent - has cooperated with Kundrati suppliers of uranium and power energy operation to work on a series of nuclear power plants to help Kundrati's energy grid modernize into the 55th century after relying on Dorvish-built nuclear power plants which have supplied the Kundrati energy grid for a century.
