Kundrati's economic report 5393: Construction and investment boom, however shipbuilding in deep decline

The 5380s have seen Kundrati's growth once again in the economic space with the help of foreign investment and cooperation - however signs are becoming apparent that certain sectors of the Kundrati economy have become neglected.

For example, shipbuilding in Celania and the Kundrati south in general have been slowing down gradually from 5381 onward and have been growing into a steep decline from 5390 where ships being built have reached a 60-year low and is expected to conitnue on the downward trend. Celanijans and southerners in general have criticized the Government's policy on leaving the sector alone which could b a major problem moving forward - while Government handouts have been a-plenty there hasn't been much more investment in shipbuilding companies and, more and more, shipbuilders are going to bankruptcy court every year.

A similar story has been seen in Etxea where there are signs of a major recession - the island relies on tourism, shipbuilding and agriculture to break even and two of the three industries are on a steep decline. Agricultural customers have now beun to prefer food from Celania and Jildrath mainland as the Etxean food quality, while good, is no longer as enhanced as that of the mainland and have been out-competed more and more by foreign food supplies and quality. Local Etxean farmers have begun to protest over this situation and there is no sign of the situation slowing down.

Speaking of tourism, ever since the Build Build Build program started more tourists have merely used Etxea and the south as a transportation point to move them to the north - while the Pechan and North-Centre of the country have experienced unseen tourist booms (alongside continuing growth of infrastructure which will be seen in the next paragraph) the same cannot be said of the south. Gift shops around the south have begun to either see more and more losses or more and more closures, alongside similar stories for restaurants and leisure clubs which have resulted in a loss of revenue for the south's entertainment industry in general. Luzec continues to provide good entertainment for the local Kundrati audience which have also resulted in more and more entertainment-aligned industries moving to Luzec and the surrounding areas instead of staying in Etxea or in Jildrath.

While the south suffers, the north continues to grow. Metros in Riecny Brod, Luzec, and Leuansk have either been completed or are close to completion. Train service also continues to grow along most lines heading north though not necessarily lines heading south - usually it's people that either wish to explore the south, live in the south, or want to leave Kundrati from the south.

Highway work has slowly continued in all areas of Kundrati alongside cargo train infrastructure - in the 5380s there were problems with delays and cancellations that have begun to be ironed out, though unfortunately this has pushed the ETA for the end of construction to past 5400 - however most of the work is now being done in the south and the centre providing some help for the southern economy.

The semiconductor factory from the Lourrenais semiconductor company is still being worked on alongside the cooperation though work towards meaningful cooperation continues to blossom with plans for working together on joint products like computers and various cellular network technology. Speaking of technology, Hutori's Hotizon Technology, using Blackwell Technology in Luthori as a subsidiary, launching products like televisions, personal computers and laptops, and cell phones being launched in Kundrati which have already been seen in many households in Kundrati alongside Dundorf-made personal technology products. Hutori's Millard have also worked with Kundrati software developers and researchers from the University of Kundrati, Riecny Brod and the University of Kundrati, Papoc to work on artificial intelligence projects and how they can be integrated into technology with the Kundrati military having a keen interest in AI development and research as well.

In addition, Hutori's Carter Energy Group Artania - a subsidiary of the Carter Energy Group operating in the Artanian continent - has cooperated with Kundrati suppliers of uranium and power energy operation to work on a series of nuclear power plants to help Kundrati's energy grid modernize into the 55th century after relying on Dorvish-built nuclear power plants which have supplied the Kundrati energy grid for a century.

Kundrati to massively liberalize immigration laws

"It's a new day for Kundrati..." announced President Anaximandro Iturain today when he made his speech in the National Assembly of Kundrati. For around two centuries Kundrati had become a binational state composing of the Lurrarens of the south and the Delics of the north and, while there have been bumps in the road so to speak, the country had retained their multinational state for generations.

Historically, Kundrati had been open religiously as well as they were the origin of oe of the major reforms of the Hosian religion. The country had been welcoming to many religions and many cultures and it is the culture of Kundrati to be open to all - after all, Yeudi culture has been growing rampant as well without much problems from the Government or from the locals.

It was in this atmosphere that today President Iturain announced new massive immigration reform. The reform would allow for anyone to go to Kundrati and, after 5 years living in the country and mastering either Luthorian, Lurrian (the language of the Lurrians) or Skitian &/or Zergonese (Czech or Slovak, representing Delic) and taking a shortened immigration quiz, gain Kundrati citizenship and be allowed to live in the country indefinitely except when commiting a crime under Kundrati law. The law has met some criticism from the conservative portion of the Kundrati Democracy caucus with some members even walking out of the particular National Assembly session when the speech was made, though with potential work with the government partner Union of Kundrati Minorities the bill is likely to pass.

Kundrati Foreign Minister Hubert Hulanevek and entourage to visit Trigunia (and potentially Dolgava) this month

Trigunia and Kundrati hadn't had reestablished a relationship since the fall of the old political system long ago. Both countries have Delic peoples inside them and it was expected that, after Deltaria, Trigunia would be next for the snake and rose to woo.

After a successful state visit to Dorvik with an expected return to attend the coronation of the new Dorvish Kaiser, the Kundrati President Anaximandro Iturain announced that as he would be preparing both for the coronation of the Dorvish Kaiser and talks to reconstitute another creation of an Artanian Union he would send his Foreign Minister Hubert Matyáš Hulanevek to Trigunia to discuss investment towards each other with Kundrati wishing to invest in Trigunian oil and wishing to allow Trigunia to invest in the country's growing technology industry and the country's robust infrastructure system, alongside reestablishing relations and the like.

The state visit is expected to begin later in the month with Foreign Minister Hulanevek heading northeast to Trigunia. A visit to Dolgava may also happen depending on circumstances and room for the schedule of Hulanevek and the Dolgavan leadership.

Kundrati President Anaximandro Iturain to visit Davostag to reinvigorate relationship
In other news:
Trigunian and reinvigorated Dorvish investment begin to appear in the shores of the Kundrati

Op-Ed: Kundrati was always Selucian

The Kundrati and the Davostan have always faced each other with a sea separating them - the Lievenian Sea. A relationship had been forming since the Civil War that impacted Davostag long ago - but today it was announced that a state visit by the President of Kundrati and his entourage would be held in Davostag.

The President announced that he would visit in order to help the technology and related industries in Davostag, commentating that the country "...can shape up to be a technological superpower..." and that investment from Kundrati and other reliable countries should be a priority to help the Davostag economy stretch into new territory. President Iturain also stated that the Kundrati-Davostag trade relationship would also be promoted with him intending to visit many businesses from Kundrati inside Davostag alongside visiting Davostag businesses in general, alongside chairing a meeting and a state dinner with the Kundrati-Davostan Commerce Board with potential hopes for a dinner with the monarch of Davostag.

He is expected to meet with the Premier of Davostag Erik Sundin and the said monarch of Davostag Gustav III, whose father and family had fled to Kundrati during the said civil war for safe refuge, with the meeting with the monarch likely to produce some good moments and fond memories of the time in Kundrati shores. President Itaurin is also expected to take a short vacation to see the natural wonders of Davostag which is notably much colder than that of Kundrati - something Itaurain would be a fan of.

Davostag is also the neighbor to Hutori for which the said country has invested a lot into Kundrati's energy and technology sector. It may be possible that the vacation could extend to Hutori with a visit to various companies and trade associations there.

Kundrati to introduce honorific naming scheme for military campaigns

Sententia: Quid nobis fecerunt Seluci?

President Anaximandro Iturain announced today in his speech to graduating military officers that honorific naming schemes will be introduced into the Kundrati military honors system. This system, inspired by the ancient Selucian honorific naming scheme, will be provided to military generals or commanders who led a "significant military or intelligence operation" that would be worthy of the medal "Hero of Kundrati".

Those who receive a honorific name would have it attached after their last name or, if they have no middle name, placed on their middle name if they request to. In military and government events one would be required, when introducing the person, to announce their name including their honorific, before being allowed to address the person however they wish - however in all other events and circumstances it would be up to the person to include the honorific or not (for example, "Alexandra Zulikov Malivian(us)").

The qualifications to get an honorific name is the following:
  • Personally lead the military campaign in question and have the outcome be a success, or
  • Serve in said military campaign as a soldier and earn either the Hero of Kundrati, the Medal of Military Honour, or die in combat (which automatically earns one the White Heart medal)

Names are allowed to stack up however there is a hard limit of three names (for example, "Alexandra Zulikov Malivian(us) Valrusian(us) Rildanian") and, whenever a person earns more than three honorific names, the person must choose a honorific name and drop the other honorific names. They will also earn a new medal called the "Kundrati Honour Medal" as well - they will only get one medal and will be forbidden from adding more honorific names to their name - alongside a lifetime pension and various other privileges.

Foreigners who serve in the Kundrati military and also participate in a qualifying military campaign will also be awarded the names and it will be up to them or their government to recognize the honour. However, they will also have the same restrictions applied to them. In respect to other governments' honourific systems Kundrati persons serving in other militaries will not be eligible for honorific names relating to any battle they participate in while serving in foreign militaries.

The following campaigns will be recognized as worthy of the honorific name:
Eligible soldiers and commanders will be given the names Valrusian and Malivian respectively and, in the case of the Malivian Campaign 5241 and Malivian Campaign 5356, posthomously.

One of the hospitals in Jildrati City in Etxea, called the University of Jildrath General Care Clinic, one of the many hospitals experiencing a rise in births in Kundrati.

Etxean and southern hospitals report jump in birth rates
In other news:

Endralonian man falls down
Dorvish woman stares into wall

For around a couple of years now hospitals in southern Kundrati, where most of the country's Lurrian people live, have experienced a massive boom in their birth rates compared to their northern Delic neighbors.

The country has been experiencing internationalism for a long while and, in the time Kundrati have tasted the touch of globalism, many peoples have come to our country for the tourist spots among other reasons. However, it was uncommon but not too farfetched that foreigners would give birth in Kundrati hospitals and gain Kundrati citizenship. Many Yeudi people are now being born in Kundrati and go back to their homeland for pilgrimages or to live with family, though some have begun to live in Kundrati itself for most of their lives. Similar stories are being told for Luthorians (though more recently), people from Tukarali, and more.

However, more and more foreigners are notably heading to Kundrati solely to either give birth or to live there with their children. As Kundrati's south faces most of her allies, most of the births have been seen in southern hospitals. In addition, Kundrati's south have also seen more local citizens giving birth! The country's 5390 Census reported that the entire country had 27% Lurrians but with the recent baby boom it is expected to grow to 30% by around 5415. Since the liberalization of immigration laws around 132,000 Lurrians have been born compared to around 78,000 Delics and 47,000 foreigners. By the start of 5400, experts say, around 520,000 Lurrians will likely to have been born at this rate compared to about 370,000 Delics and 215,000 foreigners - this is expected to increase the population of the south, alongside other factors like immigration, from 21 million to 24.5 million with the hope that the south can get to 27 million by 5430.

Such a baby boom comes with challenges however - maternal wards in southern hospitals have been strained massvely and Government investment into renovating wards and expanding hospital space inthe south, while growing, has not seen it's effect just yet. Those born in 5393 when the liberalization of immigration laws began are now old enough for daycare and daycare services have become so popular that waiting lists have become common for most of the daycares we found in our look at daycare services in Etxea, Celan(ia) and Jildrath. Schools are also preparing for the jump in population with renovations and expansions across the country with room for expansion and the like. However, southerners have recently been going up north in order to take advantage of the lower costs of childcare, new infrastructure capacity and opportunity, and less waiting lists and pressure for the childcare services.

Speaking of schools, Kasaema have recently announced a plan for building schools, daycares and new hospitals in Etxea and Jildrath called the "Schools and Childcare Building Scheme" or SCBS. SCBS plans to increase the size of all elementary schools in southern Kundrati so that there would be more room for elementary and middle school classes at an average of 6-15 more classrooms a school. State-run daycares would also be build more at a similar rate alongside investment in daycare services for rural areas, in addition to plans to build more clinics for maternal and child-care with a plan for "150 more SCBS clinics in Etxea and another 150 in each state" (Jildrath and Celan(ia) for 550 total) including small clinics and larger hospitals.

However, any investment will have to take years to take effect. The Kundrati Government has also announced that there would be an increase in welfare services for childcare and maternal care from January 5396 onwards. For example, parents will now get 14 weeks of paid leave after a birth and will get 3,000 Kuno per child up to five children. Children born after 5393 from Kundrati citizens will also be allowed free access to state-run daycares and school services.

Whatever the case is, Kundrati's south is clearly experiencing a massive jump in their populationwith the hope that more and mroe people can both be born and immigrate to the south. The country's culture is expected to change as a result with more room for the Lurrian and Selucian culture, among other benefits and hopes.

Kundrati Government mourns Trigunian aerospace tragedy, sends Transport Minister Hedvika Vacková

A Trigunian airliner crashed this year which marked a dark day for Terra's airspace industry as a whole as many people died of injuries related to the unfortunate tragedy. Kundrati airlines have used some Trigunian airplanes for some time though have been mostly reliant on Beiteynuese and Luthorian aircraft and there haven't been many name-brand Kundrati airlines that use Trigunian airplanes as a majority.

Kundrati's Transportation Ministry has deliberated for a long while over whether to suspend Trigunian airplanes for checks over design flaws and other flaws which may pose a hazard for transportation in the country. Hedvika Vacková, the Transport Minister, has stated that she will visit Trigunia to seek findings of the investigation into the cause of the airliner crash. She plans to also visit Trigunian airliner factories in order to look firsthand at how Trigunian airplanes are made with the intent of boosting Kundrati airline confidence that Trigunian planes are safe for operation.

Until the end of the visit, scheduled for sometime in the winter of 5396-97 or the spring, Kundrati airliners have been advised to ground their Trigunian planes and provide inspection reports on these planes in particular as a precaution.
