The Independent Endralon

Álmos Adel once slept with a famous Davostani mathematician's wife and he caught them shortly afterwards the act. Adel, without any sign of shame or regret, told the husband that his jealous behavior is unworthy of a "cosmopolitan scientist" and his possessiveness probably just hides his deeper nationalist sentiments. The husband, afraid to be termed a nationalist in Adelian Kivonia, asked for Adel's forgiveness several times later.

Tall-statured with bright blue eyes, Álmos Adel was an attractive socialite in the 5300s' Davostan and became the philosophical leader of the Davostani-speaking Endralonian intellectual brigade located in Kivonia, the Davostani capital. His father was a Davostani businessman, his mother a descendant of an accountant for the well-renowned Endralonian Boros family. He went to the Vermillion University, where he became a dandy, once reported as saying: "there is only one thing more important than internationalism in this world and that is an elegant dress style. I could maybe co-exist with a so-called patriot, but definitely not with a badly dressed idiot."

He was also a notorious womanizer (and manizer), claiming he inherited from his mother Endralonian sexual promiscuity. He had on-and-off relationships with many artists, actresses and scientists of his age, like Császár Mária, Endralonian-speaking poet who, in honor of her lover, wrote the popular neo-classicist and naturalist poem March of the Directorial Republics to the tunes of the old anthem of the Second Directorial Republic of Endralon - a poem that is now being adopted as the official anthem of the Third Directorial Republic. He also engaged in a flamboyant display of affection with actress Elena Debuas of the famous Canrillaise-Yeudi Debuas family, oftentimes even planning to marry her, saying "the perfect woman is blonde as the rays of the sun, has dreamy eyes you can drown in, is as affluent as the Boroses and assertive enough to keep you interesed; or, if you want to put all this simply in two words, the perfect woman is Elena Debuas."

Charismatic, quick-witted and blessed with an almost unearthly arrogance, Adel was a well-known and successful philosopher of the era whose thoughts entertained a lot of people around the world - but no one really took him seriously. He was regarded as a celebrity rather than a deep thinker and many thought his career-defining work Världsföreningen was just a late attempt to keep himself relevant. However, things are changing.

Adelism, the militantly cosmopolitan ideology bearing his name, is starting to have an impact. Though initially uncertain about completely embracing Adelist philosophy on the government level, Grand Director of Premiership Bács Imre initiated an Adelist cultural revolution in Endralon. The flag now bears Adelist symbols and a siluette of Adel's own face, the fervently and violently anti-nationalist March of the Directorial Republics is accepted as the lyrics of the official anthem (though the old tune did not change) and the state motto is one of his aphorisms: "Let us be Messiah to Reason and Satan to Barbarism!"
