Intercollegiate Games a success
August 5298 - The success of the Bei Airlines Intercollegiate Games had demonstrated Beiteynu's sports prowess, and that the government was considering expanding the power of the BCAA to allow high schools in the country to have their own national athletic events paving way for future international sport events

Tel Bira, Beiteynu - The five day long Bei Airlines Intercollegiate Games at the National Sports Center have concluded which saw over 1000 student athletes from public and private colleges alike, competing in different sports categories.
MOEC Rebecca Horowitz was the Chief Guest during the opening ceremony of the event. She together with representatives from Bei Airlines (sponsors) and officials from the Ministry were present to officially open the games. During her address, MOEC Horowitz expressed her happiness stating that this event will be fundamental in future games and possibly international events. She urged student athletes to do their utmost best adding that the government is working on providing scholarships to those who are very passionate in sports and are willing to take sports as their main career.
The course of the five-day national event saw students competing in track and field events such as swimming, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. Soccer, a popular sport in the country was one of the many events highly anticipated with many private television stations reporting high viewership ratings for the matches. Overall, the whole competition was fierce and it was evident that students did their utmost best. Spectators which included parents were seen cheering on their children and teams which created an exciting atmosphere.
Who won? Well, no one did. This was the sentiment shared by Minister Rebecca Horowitz during the closing ceremony. She added that sports was not only about winning but promoting physical health, mental well-being, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Ms. Horowitz was delighted that the students were able to do just that which proved that this event was a success. The final results of the games will be uploaded on the MOEC website.
During her closing remarks, she announced that her Ministry is considering expanding the roles of the BCAA to allow high schools to participate in their own national events. She stated that sports play a significant role in our culture and we should allow our youths to do just that. Ms. Horowitz also added that the BCAA will engage with sports bodies of other countries to facilitate sports exchange programs so that youths can gain exposure to different cultures and sports training methods.
As we look to the future, we plan to increase funding for college sports programs and facilities which will ensure that student-athletes have access to the best possible resources and training opportunities. We also plan to collaborate with private sector sponsors and donors to provide scholarships and other financial support for promising student-athletes who may face financial challenges.
She concluded that the BCAA will explore opportunities for Beiteynu to host international sports events and tournaments in the future.
