HERTZDORF, ODERVELD - A private school in a small eastern Oderveld town, Hertzdorf, population 7.800, is under fire after it has been reported that the Headmaster, Mr. Ulrich Oppenheimer, allegedly received several bribes coming from parents of bad-performing children, in order for them to receive higher marks and consequently allowing them to illegally graduate from High School.
The alleged fact was reported by the Deputy Headmaster, Ms. Kat Kath which noticed a sharp increased in some students marks despite their tests remaining mediocre, the Deputy Headmaster then confronted her boss, who confessed the fact while being secretly taped by Ms. Kath.
Ms. Kath then asked the students, unaware that their parents were paying money to get them higher marks, if they changed their studying habits, justifying the sudden increase in their results, turns out that the students were reportedly 'paying less attention in class' and 'doing even less homeworks'. At that point Deputy Headmaster Kat Kath turned her concerns to the Police, that upon listening to the recordings she made, proceeded to arrest the Headmaster and 9 parents, aged from 41 to 54, all with very high incomes and university degrees. Funnily enough, this has been the first criminal case resolved by the Hertzdorf Local Police led by Chief Paul Leitner, a young Policeman, who said that in this town there aren't much crimes, and that out of the 10 months he's been in office as Chief, this has been the first crime his police unit worked on.
This bribery scheme shocked the peaceful community of Hertzdorf, with people outraged and angry. We interviewed some of them:
If your kid is dumb, you pay a tutor to teach him, not the Headmaster!
- Hannah Thomms, 75, former Math teacher in that Private School
This is really appaling, private school kids think they're superior to those who attend public schools.
- Lena Hochberg, 45, mom of two Public High School children
Bribery...I fear like these big city behaviors are spreading to small towns like ours...
- Dietrich Muller, 50, a former Dunburg resident who moved to Hertzdorf
I hope the students get to repeat the cheated tests!
- Thomas Timmermans, 29, former top student at that Private School
But someone found the fact fun, a young person commented on this fact using a Luthorian slang expression:
Haha, yes I saw, super cool, this should be legalized LOL!
- Otto Ottenberg, 20, student
