Now, that multi-party democracy seems a basic assumption for Dundorfians, it became difficult to remember what those autocratic years meant for Dundorf, and hence why we keep celebrating this date.
Schools in this week take on special history lessons about the transition years (5417-5438), those decades in which Dundorf completed its transformation into what is it today, while Municipalities hold pyrotechnic shows and most workplaces close to allow its workers to celebrate the National Day.
As usual, all political leaders of Dundorf's eight Bundestag parties gathered together in the
Unter den Birken (Luthorian: Under the Birches) avenue, that connects Dunburg's Mitte neighborhood to the
Odervelder Tor (Luthorian: Oderveld Gate), Dundorf's symbol. Federal President Paula Engelhart delivered the closing speech, just before the Bundestag pyrothechnic show took place, a speech in which she talked about the importance of Unity to preserve the integrity of the Republic:
[...] Dear Dundorfians, before walking together to the Bundestag to celebrate this day, I would like to conclude my speech by encouraging people of different backgrounds, political opinions and religious affiliations to come together as one people, in Unity, to maintain our great Republic indeed great, and prosperous. Thank you.

The national political attendees featured, other than the President, the Federal Chancellor, Florian Rutte-Grüber, members from the Cabinet representing SLPD, BZD and D'95, opposition's MHP was represented by its founders Stefan Bauer, Sjef Deen and Felix Lorenz, as well as members from the NDZP, FVP and NLP.
There were present also a few foreign dignitaries who came to Dunburg to watch the celebrations, among them the Emperor of the Holy Luthorian Empire, William X, accompanied by his consort, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary, followed by His Royal Highness, Maurice I, Prince-Regent of Keymon accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Ernestin Wichtermann, State President Akina and Reichsminister of External Affairs Atieno Busar, representing Nsanlosa, were present as well as the Rosh Ha'memshala of the Homeland State of Beiteynu, Paz Yoffey, the President of the Kundrati Union Irantzu Hirigoinaphal with the Foreign Minister Hubert Matyáš Hulanevek, the Rutanian Minister of State for Artania and Commonwealth Affairs, Alistair McUllam and finally the Lourennais High Chancellor Madeline Lefèvre and Royal Minister of International Affairs, Georges Diderot.
