The Selucian Government advised that a closing the borders of the nation was on the table. And this morning, actions have been taken. The official account of the Selucian Government has announced the closing of the Selucian borders in an attempt to prevent the disease to reach the nation.

In the page http://www.selucianinfodov.sen, it is said that this closing only applies to individuals travelling to the nation or from the nation, and from now on, only a group of a maximum of 100 people per day will be allowed to enter the nation, after strong security checks, and that commerce is still open but will have further controls and measures to assure the Selucians the quality of the products that arrive to the Republic. It is also said that normal life can still be done, as this is done just as a prevention measure.

Official Statement of the Selucian Foreign Affair Ministry regarding Juliana Mede

The Selucian Government has decided to accept the petition of Mrs. Juliana Mede to come into Selucia, her nation of origin. The Selucian Government will start talks with the Deltarian Government to arrange her transportation when it is possible.

The Government of the Res Publica Seluciae understands that not everyone is to blame of the actions of the once Government of Barmenia, specially the words dedicated to this nation after the awful fires it suffered. Therefore, the Government of Selucia does not blame Mrs. Mede or any other Barmenia for it.

It has been decided that she will be granted access to the nation, and she shall be judged, as Selucian, by the Selucian Supreme Court. If found guilty, she shall face whatever punishment is imposed by the Court, and any attempt to free her shall be considered an attack to the Res Publica Seluciae. If found innocent, she shall be granted freedom and shall be allowed to live in the Res Publica Seluciae for the time she considers.

Regarding her son, he shall not be granted the Selucian nationality unless he passes the required test. Therefore, until he passes it, he shall be considered an immigrant and all rules apply to him.

They will not be granted special access to the nation. The current measures decided by the Government to avoid the Dovanian Plague shall be applied and therefore,
they shall request an entrance in the 100 group of people allowed to enter every day in the Selucian territory, with no special privileges.

Any attempt to harm her or her son by any foreign nation shall be considered an attack to any other Selucian citizen and therefore, we ask the international community to respect the democracy of the Selucian nation-

The Selucian Government will also contact with the Barmenian Government to obtain all the required information to be used in the trial, and we ask the Barmenian Government to respect the democratic procedures of a trial to a Selucian citizen in Selucian territory.

Those are the conditions the Res Publica Seluciae imposes to Mrs. Mede and Deltaria if she wants to enter and be judged in Selucia. If they are not accepted, it will be understood that Mrs. Mede refuses to collaborate with the Selucian justice and therefore, her nationality shall be retired, forcing Selucia not to recognize any further consequences.

Yannis Hellada, the Selucian Foreign Minister who is currently dealing with the issue of Mrs. Juliana Mede, a Selucian citizen who used to live in Barmenia married to a member of the former Sultanate, has given today a press conference after the Barmenian Thallers released an statement answering to the formal communicate made by the Selucian Foreign Office.

Mrs. Juliana Mede does not have to consent to come to Selucia. She has been given the option to do so, but she is not and will not be forced to do it against her will.

That is the reason why a trial will take place: to determine on whether she has broken laws or not. Not only the Selucian laws are important but, as her life has been done in Barmenia, it has to be seen which, if any Barmenian law has been broken, and the Supreme Court of Selucia will then determine if any of those laws, Barmenian and Selucian, implies for her any kind of condemnation. The Selucian Government is already in contact with the Barmenian authorities for this purpose, and we can assure Mrs. Mede that some accusations may just be dismised if judged not to be against Selucian laws. She does not have to worry if she is innocent, I think Selucia has showed since a long time ago that it is a full democracy and that the separation of powers is fully respected.

Regarding to her son's citizenship, I'll proceed to explain how current Selucian laws work and apply:

First of all, regarding the Selucian law on "Legality of multiple citizenship." The current stand of the Government is that multiple citizzenship is allowed but must be registered. In this point, first of all, the Selucian Government never received a formal petition from Mrs. Mede to register her son as a Selucian citizen, as former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Selucia during that time, Mrs. Stavroula Zerva, has declared.

In second place, while the policy of our government concerning granting citizenship is granting it to all nationals, we reach the main point: who is considered a national? Our law currently states that anyone receives nationality but immigrants must pass a test to gain nationality. The Selucian government applies a policy of "Jus Soli" to consider anyone a citizen of the state. The Selucian law, therefore, does not grant the children of a national the Selucian nationality, unless they are born in Selucian land, which in this case as far as I know, it's not the case.

Therefore, the son of Mr. Mede is considered, under the Selucian law, the son of a Selucian citizen, but he is not considered a Selucian citizen himself.

Once this has been clarified, I hope Mrs. Mede and his son reconsider the offer of the Selucian Government and accepts to come to her nation of origin in order to be safe and with no fear.

The Selucian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yannis Hellada, has announced today the preparation of a team of top Selucian researchers to nations which are currentl investigating the Dovanian plague/Wolfsteim disease, in order to help to advance further in the already found vaccines and treatments.

We are ready to send some of our top researchers to nations such as Hutori of Baltusia, if they support our team, to help them in finding the best solution against this awful disease that is currently devastating the entire Terra. After confirmation from Baltusia, the Selucian Foreign Affairs Ministry has named the team that will be sent to this nation in order to help with the research of a vaccine for the Wolfstheim Disease.

The group, from the top researchers of Selucia, will be made of:

-Carina Megias, biochemist.

-Gregorio Andilli, expert in viruses and rare diseases.
