Selucia to receive members of Indralan Imperial household
Minister of Foreign Affairs has announced the detailed schedule for the visit

Image
Selucian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thera Terzi

Selucia will receive the members of the Indralan Imperial household, according to its Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mrs. Terzi has announced this morning that both Heads of the Selucian power, Consul Zelotes Siskos and Caesar Atia Vinicia Gryllus, will receive the foreigners.

Even though everyone knows the position of our party in terms of monarchies, we do no have a say in the politics of foreign nation according to who rules them. For this reason, the Government of Selucia will receive with joy the representatives of the Indralan power, in the hope to strenghen relationships between both nations that may lead to shares of knowledge and products.

Selucia, which was not visited by Prince Kai in 4349 when the Indralan prince did his tour, raised its voice at that time recognizing that "it was a surprise to be avoided by the Indralan representative, as Selucia has been a light for Majatra for many years". Those words seem to have been heard by the Indralan Household, which now includes the island nation as part of its world tour.

Thera Terzi has also announced the schedule for the visit, which will include a visit to many of the ancient Selucian ruins, full of history, and a trip to the capital of each Selucian regional capital city, where they will be received by the Praetors of each region.

Preparations for the 4395 Selucian National Games kick off!
Less than a year before the games, the nation begins to prepare for its most important national event

Image
Rogerius Capiton and Phoenia Coilla, winner of the 4380, 4385 and 4390 Mens and winner of the 4390 Womens Selucian Games

Official preparations for the 4395 Selucian National Games have started, this year to be held in Cor Patriae. This was announced by the head of government, Atia Vinicia Gryllus, who has wished luck to all the athletes who are already preparing and has asked that these games take place "in the same festive atmosphere and healthy competition that have always characterized them".

The Games, which started back in the early years of the nation, have become an event that moves masses and generates a great amount of expectation among citizens and athletes themselves, eager to demonstrate their capabilities in front of millions of people. The government, in addition, is already granting the respective permits to the foreign televisions that broadcast it in their respective countries, in order to have everything solved as soon as possible and that no problems arise.

Rogerius Capiton, from Occidentria, and Phoenia Coilla, from Oriensos, are the current winners from the Mens and Womens categories, and they are getting ready to revalidate their titles.

I know it is extremely hard to revalidate a title in those games, but if people have done it before me, I can do it!
has said a confident Coilla.

I am very ready to revalidate my title. If I manage to do it, I will become the first Selucian athlete to win four times in a row, or even to win four times, and I'll be remembered for sure. I will try not to dissapoint, so people, get ready to fight me!
have been the words of Rogerius Capiton, winner of the past three Selucian Games.

Selucian Government announces sanctions against Saridan
The Cabinet has decided it upon restoration of slavery in the country

Image
Minister of Foreign Affairs Thera Terzi with the ambassador of Saridan in Selucia

Although late, the Selucian government has finally answered to the restoration of slavery in Saridan with the imposition of sanctions. This comes after the further development of rising tensions in the international scene.

We have been studying the situation until the last moment, to avoid any hasty action that could lead to something worse. But since the Saridan government has not changed its opinion in this matter, from the government of our nation we show the deepest rejection of this law approved in Saridan, and we are forced to impose sanctions that, although perhaps they are not very useful, they show the frontal opposition of our country to such barbarities in the current times. We join in this way the group of countries that condemn these facts, and we demand the Saridan government to rectify as soon as possible if they do not want this to evolve into a greater conflict.
This is how the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thera Terzi, transmitted it to the ambassador of Saridan in Selucia.

The products that the nation exports to Saridan, mainly tropical foods, textile goods and fuels, will cease to be sent immediately and will be ordered to all who are on the way to turn around at the moment.

Selucian National Games comes to an end
The event has broken many former Selucian records and has gathered an audience of 30 million nationwide during its finals

ImageImage
Aemidia Prulia and Arvasio Difero, winners of this year's Selucian National Games

With the Selucian National Games ended, the nation is back to normal. After a month of competitors displaying their abilities through sports, and since this year, including drama and poetry after a change made by the Ministry of Education and Culture with the collaboration of Factio Republicana, Selucia has now two new winners to praise: Arvasio Difero, from Insularia, and Aemidia Prulia, from Oriensos.

With the victory of those two, the dream of the former champion Rogerius Capiton to become the first Selucian to win four games in a row has been broken, and for the first time since 4370, there is no winner from Occidentria. However, both current winners have made public their intentions to repeat victory in the next games.

With an audience of over 30 million people only in Selucia, these games have broken the viewing record, that has been increasing year after year, and that has been shown to encourage the Selucians to go out to practice sports.

Minister of Education and Culture of Selucia, Fulcinia Trailus, has said:

Congratulations to our new champions! We hope you enjoy your new victory, and like the rest of previous winners, make use of the new status you have to encourage more citizens to play sports and lead a healthy lifestyle, in addition to getting in touch with the rich and vast culture of our nation. The fact of adding drama and poetry to the modalities of the games makes them balance a little and more people will want to sign up, in addition to giving a different approach and showing different parts of ourselves. We will see in the next games the effect that this has.

Selucia gets ready to receive Indralan royal family

Due to the imminent visit of the royal family from Indrala to Selucia, the nation has armored itself to avoid any possible altercation that could affect the visit, as announced by leftist radical groups of sabotaging the visit of a "democratically unelected king".

The Caesar de Selucia, Atia Vinicia Gryllus, and the Consul, Zelotes Siskos, will be in charge of receiving the royal family. Although this has raised some discomforts in the party that both militate, In Marea-Civis Sinistram, of clearly republican feeling, the two high figures of Selucia have shielded themselves in the institutional sense of their positions, and although they have expressed their disagreement with non-elected rulers, they have adduced the responsibilities of international relations to soften the issue.

"The important thing in these cases is to forge stable and lasting relationships with as many of the democracies of our world as possible, which is, or should be, the priority of any ruler."
Mr. Ziskos said.

For her part, Mrs. Gryllus has stated that although she will never agree with the reinstatement of the emperors in Selucia, it is not for her to comment on the state form of other democracies, while they respect fundamental rights.

Although the two Praetors of the Rexist Party (Marestella and Occidentria), and two of the three Praetors of In Marea-Civis Sinistram (Insularia and Cor Patriae) have confirmed their attendance at civil events and visits to their respective regions , the Praetor of Oriensos, Passilus Volantus, has adduced "agenda problems" to avoid encountering the monarchy of Indrala, after the numerous criticisms he wrote during his time in the newspaper "Selucia morning" to the current monarchies. Instead, the Secretary of Internal Affairs of Oriensos will go.

Citizens, especially those of monarchical sentiment, are curious and impatient for this visit, to see how future relations develop and what this brings to the country.

Selucia discuss the creation of an upper chamber
IMCS makes the proposal to the rest of Selucian parties

Image
Parus Adrada, Princeps Senatus, making the proposal in the Senate

Following a proposal of In Marea-Civis Sinistram made by the leader of the Senate, Parus Adrada, the legislative body will discuss the creation of an upper chamber, with an unknown name yet, in order to release from some functions to the Senate.

The draft released by the progressist party is as follows:

In Marea-Civis Sinistram would like to launch the debate over the creation of a second chamber in our parliamentary system, that would be in charge of controlling the regional governments, and would give a better representation overall of the election results by constituency. Seats would be asssigned as follows:

Overall system:

• 85 regional seats, 17 from each
• 25 seats nationwide
• Former Praetors and Consuls

Regional seats:

For each region, 10 seats would go to the most voted party, 5 to the second, and 2 to the third.

National seats:

25 seats to be given

For the last election results, this would create the second chamber as follows:

IMCS: 45 seats (37 regional + 9 national)
RP: 28 seats (22 regional + 6 national)
FR: 21 seats (17 regional + 4 national)
FI: 10 seats (6 regional + 4 national)
PFO: 4 seats (2 regional + 2 national)

•••••Powers: •••••
• Appointment of members of the Supreme Court
•Suspension of Regional Governments if Constitution is broken (2/3 of votes)
•Disciplining Praetors
•Advisor of the Consul
•Simple majority to withdraw from Treaties and declaring war.
•Representation of regions.

In Marea-Civis Sinistram would like to know the opinion of the other parties, more functions that could be given to this chamber, and any suggestions.

Parus Adrada,
Princeps Senatus

The powers of the future chamber are currently being discussed with the other Selucian parties, but this would seem like a step in the right direction in order to speed up decisions in the Senate.

Manifestations for the controversial establishment of the death penalty
Civil associations, judges, prosecutors and political parties show their division on the subject

Image
Protesters against the death penalty in Auroria, Selucia

After the recent approval of the death penalty in Selucia for the first time in its modern history by 432 votes in favor (Rexist Party, Factio Republicana and one of the parties of the government, Factio Imperialis), 249 votes against (In Marea-Civis Sinistram, government leaders and heads of state) and 69 abstentions (Populi Factio Optimatium), a deep gap has been opened in the Selucian society. Immediately after the approval of the sentence, the general secretary of In Marea-Civis Sinistram and head of government, Atia Vinicia Gryllus, announced that they will review the government agreements with Factio Imperialis and Populi Factio Optimatium after their vote in the new law, as well as the immediate submission of an appeal in the Supreme Court of Selucia.

The new law, which legalizes the death penalty for those considered "capital crimes" (parricide, assassination, murder of a person under the age of 13, murder of a police officer, murder of person with disabilities, murder-for-hire, murder of multiple victims, murder of witnesses, and murder committed in the course of committing serious felony offenses, including torture, rape, arson, or armed robbery. Being an accomplice or attempting to commit a capital felony is also a capital offense), through the use of guillotine, hanging or firing squad, has opened a deep debate in civil, legal and political society.

From the association of progressive judges, it has been already announced the refusal to this type of convictions before the supreme court of the country is pronounced on it, something that is expected in the coming months.

The Praetors of Insularia, Cor Patriae and Oriensos (IMCS) have also announced their rejection of the new law, and the creation of other appeals that will also be sent to the highest court of the country.

It is a national shame that this law has been approved in the Senate of the Republic, especially because it has been approved thanks to the votes in favor of one of the parties of government, Factio Imperialis, that with this decision has moved away positions with respect to us.
said the Praetor de Cor Patriae

Praetors of Insularia and Oriensos have gone further, affirming that the approval of this law is "an attack against human dignity and fundamental rights", a "return to past and barbaric times" and "a triumph of fanaticism".

Jurist by profession, the Praetor de Oriensos Passilus Volantus, has stated that:

The establishment of the death penalty in Selucia does not correspond to moral and legal principles to build a more just society, as they want us to believe from Factio Republicana, promoters of this law and that we all know in what political position they are. What they intend with this is to be able to unleash their fanaticism. This new law will allow them, in some concrete case, the elimination of any political adversary, because they have gone much further on other occasions with other laws, and with this they will not lose the opportunity. In the same way, with this law they intend to make any sentence that is issued final, without giving rise to any reform in the judgments. Judges are people too, and judges can be wrong too. In the same way, there are complicated and convoluted crimes, in which it peope is incriminated and, finally, it is demonstrated years later that they are innocent. What would happen in those cases? Will Factio Republicana go to repair the pain caused by passing this law, moved by instincts of revenge and not justice, to the families of the executed, to tell them that they are sorry and that it will not happen again? I feel disgust for some people who dirty the image of this nation.

The youths of In Marea-Civis Sinistram, the IUVIM, have called for social mobilization in the streets, and the head of government, Mrs. Gryllus, has authorized the demonstrations.

These protests are lawful and they have every reason in the world. From the government, at least since our party, we show the profound rejection of this new law and with the appeal filed before the Supreme Court, we hope that this situation will be fixed as soon as possible. The support of Factio Imperialis to this law has been the definitive moment, and this forces us to review our relations with a party that is in favor of such barbarity.

Some pharmacies in the country have already shown their refusal to provide anesthesia for the executions, in order to avoid damaging their own image.

If they want to execute someone, they will have to do it by their own means and portray themselves before society. We are not going to collaborate with this cruelty improper of our times.
has stated the director of Colosseum Pharmaceuticals, one of Selucia's largest pharmaceutical companies.

On the other hand, demonstrations have also been called to show support for this law, especially in regions such as Occidentria.

It was time for the murderers not to go unpunished for ridiculous sentences and to show no sign of repentance
, said one of the organizers of the demonstration "Death Penalty Yes."

In Marea-Civis Sinistram, at the crossroads
The result of the last elections puts the current ruling party in a dilemma

Image
Appearance of the current prime minister, Atia Vinicia Gryllus, after the result of the elections

After the result of the elections of 4398, the current party that has majority in the government, In Marea-Civis Sinistram, has seen how all the looks of the parliamentary bow were directed towards them.

In the elections, which have given the victory to the Rexist Party together with the governorships of two regions, In Marea-Civis Sinistram has been relegated to the second position, with two other governorates, while the fifth government has gone to the third party in the Senate, Factio Republicana. However, the overall result has meant that the government, led by IMCS together with Factio Imperialis and Factio Populi Optimatium, loses its majority in the Senate, going on to obtain only 337 seats, far from the 376 needed to keep the majority in the chamber. On the contrary, the current opposition parties, Rexist Party and Factio Republicana, have taken 413 seats.

The movement that has given the surprise, nevertheless, has been the proposal of the Rexist Party to form a government with In Marea-Civis Sinistram, Factio Imperialis and Populi Factio Optimatium, asking only the presidency of the government for them and leaving the other ministries practically as they are currently, leaving Factio Republicana as the only opposition party.

The Rexist Party, a conservative party known for some of its most reactionary proposals in the Senate, has for the moment made IMCS unable to support this government proposal, in addition to having received a request from Factio Aurorianus, the only current extra-parliamentary party, in which they are asked to let the nationalist and fascist forces out the government.

However, the fact that the current government has lost its majority in the Senate puts the party on the ropes, as the Caesar de Selucia Atia Vinicia Gryllus has just said at a conference given a few minutes ago.

Unfortunately, the result of the last elections forces In Marea-Civis Sinistram to put itself in a clear position, which surely and in any case, will annoy some of our voters.

With the loss of confidence of citizens in our government, which has caused us to lose the majority in the Senate, puts us at a crossroads that we have to consider very carefully. The Rexist Party, known for many of its conservative policies, has formally asked us for the participation of our party in a new government together with them, Factio Imperialis and Populi Factio Optimatium, with the sole request to grant them the Caesarship. While at first sight it may be preposterous, and we understand that Factio Aurorianus has asked us to stay away from this government, rejecting the request would be tantamount to Rexist Party asking Factio Republicana for their collaboration, creating an ultra-right government that would break all the country definitely. We disagree with both the conservative and reactionary policies of the Rexist Party and the ultra-religious policies of Factio Aurorianus, but while Factio Aurorianus is not currently a danger in the Senate because it has no seats, Rexist Party can form a government without us and that It would be devastating for Selucia.

That is why In Marea-Civis Sinistram is going to support this new government, because we understand that we still have a voice of power in this government, but we will not allow nonsense. In the moment that the differences in the government are insurmountable, the ministers of In Marea-Civis Sinistram will resign immediately, and will try to force new elections.

BREAKING Iudicium Maximum Seluciae stance on the death penalty
The Supreme Court overturns the Factio Republicana law until some issues are specified, but leaves the door open for its continuity

Image
Megadorus Pertinax, Magni Iudex, reading the final judgement

In the end nobody has lost. After the recent establishment of the death penalty in Selucia for the first time in its modern history, thanks to a bill passed by Factio Republicana, Factio Imperialis and Rexist Party, the progressive party In Marea-Civis Sinistram announced the immediate presentation of a appeal to the Supreme Court of the country, an act that was repeated throughout Selucia by various civil associations and judges and the Praetors of Insularia and Oriensos in their personal capacity.

Now, the highest court of the country has launched its verdict, in which its members adopt a more or less focused position, with the only exception of the private vote issued by Judge Ariadna Pragmata, probably the most mediatic of all its members, and with the last vote cast by Judge Ateia Meius, the most respected by the Selucians and who passed away yesterday.

This is the verdict issued by the court, composed entirely of judges considered socially "progressive", and whose complete sentence can be read on the website http://www.iumaxse.com/damnationem/193472esd2w

"Following petition 103953/62 received by this judicial body, in relation to the establishment of the law authorizing the existence of death sentences throughout the nation, having received petitions for the resolution of the following citizens:
- H.E. Atia Vinicia Gryllus, Caesar Seluciae, in the name of the Government.
- Hon. Artemisia Oltra, Praetor Insulariae
- Hon. Passilus Volantus, Praetor Oriense
- Association of Judges for Democracy (JFD)
- National Association of Judges and Prosecutors (NAJP)
- Civil petition signed by 2 million citizens

This judicial body announces that:

- In accordance with the laws that currently govern our nation's penalty system.
- Prioritizing that no punishment should carry with it any possible failure by the courts.
- Observing the protests all around the five constituencies, Provinces, in this our nation.
- Acting to protect citizens against partisan interests or systematic elimination of political or civil enemies.
- Declaring the most firmly interest of this nation in the defense of human rights, never approving the use of violence as a first option to reach a final solution.

This Court makes the following public:

The Res Publica Seleuciae, Selucia, has been a defender of human rights since the beginning of its recent history, although, like all nations of the world today, power in the wrong hands can lead to terrible consequences for a country and its citizens. To issue this final verdict, the following citizens have been called to consult: the Minister of Justice, Hon. Caprenia Belletor; the promoter of the law, Hon. senator Haider bin Talal al-Mutanabbi, of the Factio Republicana party; Hon. Leaders of the political parties participating in the debate, Hons. Wilhelmus Augustus Flavius (RP), Atia Vinicia Gryllus (IMCS), Decimus Nasennius Valens (FR) and Albanus Secundinus (FI).

The court resolves the following:

This body understands, without entering into personal opinions, the demonstrations and protests, protected by the laws, carried out by the citizens of the country in response to the approval of the law that legalizes the death penalty. This body, having heard all the arguments made during the debate on the approval of the law in the Senate, understands that all senators voted with conscience of what they were approving or rejecting, without being able to claim any ignorance of the matter. This body, having read the final resolution of the law, DOES NOT FINS VALID LEGAL ARGUMENTS TO COMPLETELY INVALIDATE WHATS IS CURRENTLY A LEGAL ACT APPROVED BY THE SENATE of legal assessment for certain crimes. The assessment of the matter in relation to social issues does not correspond to this judicial body, only the judicial valuations.. This body, however, is forced to establish that, after the issuance of the sentence to death by a jury after the relevant investigation has been carried out, the case has to be transferred to a SECOND COURT, with total independence of the first , which following the same legal processes must conduct its own investigation and condemn, or exhort the accused. In case the second jury does not see grounds for the death sentence, a third jury will be in charge of the final decision. This has to be carried out in order to avoid convictions that end up proving fraudulent or erroneous, once the process has been carried out and there is no possible way to backtrack.
In the same way, this judicial body is forced to STOP THE APPLICATION OF THE LAW until the parties that approved it clarify the legal situation of those who carry out the execution, and who, in any other situation, could be accused of homicide and / or murder.

Factio Aurorianus Founder Leads Protest of New Coalition Talks

Following the collapse of the first coalition talks, Fr. Gnaeus Fulcinius Ambrose, the founder of Selucia's newest Factio Aurorianus, led prayer protests outside Selucia's Senate to protest talks renewed talks between the Rexist Party, In Marea - Civis Sinistram, Factio Imperialis, and the Populi Factio Optimatium.

Image

When asked whether the thinks the talks will succeed, Fr. Ambrose responded "The Rexist and In Marea factions seek to create an axis of evil between fascism and liberalism to pass wicked laws unto the populace. I hope Factio Imperialis and the Populi Factio Optimatium will stand up for core conservative values and respecting the right to life, but I have little hope." He further continued "All we can do is pray for the future and that new elections will be called sooner than expected."

Given the recent absenteeism of the PFO it is unclear whether the Rexist/In Marea-Civis/Factio Imperialis Sinistram coalition will try to govern without the PFO or will call new elections to rectify the current obliqueness of the government.
