KLP leadership elections
In the wake of the snap general election called by the KLP the party held leadership elections. After the KLP defeat at the last elections (-94 seats) and becaming only a poor third the KLP wanted to revitalize itself with a new manifesto and a new leader in order to win back many voters lost to the more radical SNP (Selucian National Party).
Before the electon thriller the delegates from all over Selucia agreed on the follwing key points of the manifesto:
1.) Complete seperation of economy and state
2.) Defeating SNP rebels
3.) Finally reach a compromise with Pontesi over the Selucian-pontesi minority
4.) Work together in the world and the continent to ensure peace and prosperity with regard to the Selucian population
5.) Further tax cuts and the introducement of a flat tax or regressive tax system
However many observers noted the heated discussions about joining the UMN but it became also evident that the attitudes are slowly changing in relation to this subject.
The leadership election was held under the preference voting system, meaning one caniddate by one were dropped out as long as one candidate has an absolut majority.
