It's a shame that the left in this nation cannot come to agreements and has to accept what the right wants

I do not conceive how a party that claims to be "center", keeps just supporting most of the conservative politics and turning down the progressive ones proposed by Sabulum Clarum and my own party.

Added, in reference to the last votings in the Selucian Senate, where Magni Iucunda Imperialum, the most voted party of the nation, joined SSNP and Partis Nationalisti to vote "no" to the last proposals.

The main problem in this nation is that the left has lost the North. Everyone wants to make sure that everyone thinks like they want, but are not open to listen to the others. We have been in government with Partis Nationalisti for more than 12 years. That does not mean we agree with them, in fact, we agree in only 46% of our votings, but we are doing it in order to keep Selucia up. Why? Because none of the left members of our nation has decided to take a step forward and tried to form a strong coalition. We have defraudated our votes, and I think that is why Sabulum Clarum and my own party are losing votes. They can't see what we do because there is not enough effort to make it visible, and we have to change that. We have to stop the racism, homophobia, machism... but we cannot do it alone, we need the effort of all the citizens that believe in liberty and equality, and we have to show them that we are the best option to do it. It is very frustrating to see that the party we made a government coalition with, Magni Iucunda Imperialium, based on progressist values, has been slowly turning to the right, becoming a restrictive and abusive party, and we cannot do anything because we do not have enough seats, as voters have lost their confidence in us. We have to get back this confidence so we can change the last politics

Tera Pisthis dies
Former Consul de Popularis de Selucia dies aged 97.

Tonight the Regnum de Selucia has been shocked by unexpected news: former leader of In Marea Possumus Facere and former Consul de Popularis de Selucia from 4135 to 4139 has died due to illness.
Tera Pisthis became a defender of the workers and detainees during Factio Conservativa's governments and co-founded a labor law office where the 4087 Massacre of Argona took place. As a judge she began an almost solitary fight to prevent corruption in existing courts. She was also a founder of the progressive association Iudicum per Democratia (Judges pfor Democracy). In 4106 she was elected member of the Supreme Court of Selucia, office she left after proposing herself for Leader of In Marea.
Her legislature was marked by the most difficult change of Government, as Partis Laboris lost the 4135 elections but with the desintegration of two of the major parties in Selucia, there was no possibility of forming a new government until a priori impossible coalition was formed by Magni Iucunda Imperialium, In Marea and Partis Nationalisti.
The oldest Consul de Popularis of Selucia, she always had a conciliative profile and a good sense of justice, always aiming to achieve what she thought was better for Selucians, in memory of her dead partners in the Massacre of Argona.
A survivor, she defined herself as a "fighter who was never proud of what she had achieved and always wanting to do more for everyone".
Her daughter, Aqua Prunilla Pisthis, with a promising career in the party, has thanked everyone the signs of affection received from all the parties and even from international bodies, and her wishes to celebrate a private funeral.

Caesar Senatus of Selucia, Aelius Celer, who shared lots of time and confidences with Tera Pisthis, called inmediately to the family and expressed his condolences, announcing also that a street in Kal Serathi (region governed by In Marea) will get her name.

Today is a sad day for Selucia. Tera Pisthis, a true example of justice and love, has passed away this afternoon. From here, I want to send my most sincere condolences to the family, and during two days, flags will be at half-mast.

MII wins elections, PN reaches its highest result ever, In Marea falls to 4th position
Last elections result came as an earthquake to the political scenario

The 4155 elections in Selucia have come as a shocking result: the candidate for Consul Populi from Partis Nationalisti has reached for the first time the 2nd round, defeating Lar Gnaeus from In Marea (3rd), Helvetia Castoria from Sabulum Clarum (4th), Rafael Fernando de Tramontana Laskaris from SSNP (5th) and Florus Lavius from Cogitaris (6th). The winner has been Flavius Augustus Aquilinus, from MII again, with 50.39% of the votes against Laelius Domitianus from PN.

In the Elections for the Senate, Magni Iucunda Imperialium kept being the most voted party, but losing 33 seats.
However, the most shocking part of the night was the second position of Partis Nationalisti, reaching a new high with 182 seats without winning in any region.
Sabulum Clarum won in East Shadar, Uleroth and Korgana, with In Marea winning in Kal Serathi and Magni Iucunda Imperialium only in West Shadar.

While the results came as a celebration for most of the parties, in the national headquarters of In Marea they threw cold water on their expectations.

Due to the current results of the last elections, it has been clear the intentions of the citizens. We, In Marea, were not able to fulfill the expectations we had, and citizens have punished us. While Magni Iucunda Imperialium has publicy announced their intentions to form a government coalition with all the parties with seats, we must refuse it. We will take our place in the opposition for the first time in many years, because we cannot betray our voters and cooperate in the government with Partis Nationalisti and SSNP. While I respect their political opinions, we do not share most of them and therefore it would be very difficult for us to explain the situation to our voters. We will build a constructive opposition. It makes makes me so sad to see how our society is embracing the politics of far-right parties and conservativism, but it has been done. It has been a pleasure for me to serve as your Caesar Senatus, but the time has come for me to retire and give my position to a new one. Thank you so much.

That was a clear declaration of intentions, with Aelius Celer almost in tears while announcing what, with almost all security, in his last press conference as Caesar Senatus.

In Marea Possumus Facere elects new leader after the last election results
Hypatia Scafidi elected as new Leader of the party following strong voices against former Leader Lar Gnaeus

After the last elections held in Selucia, In Marea has been out of control. Lot of voices, including Aeceus Exhilis and Aurelia Batia (representant of IM in Korgana and Governor of Kal Serathi, respectively), have critizised the last administration of Lar Gnaeus, who failed to achieve the position of Consul Populi in four consecutive elections, and even failing to reach the second round in three of them. Ir order to please the militants, Gnaeus called the General Assembly for another elections, and there was no surprise when he lost against the other two candidates, resulting in the election of Hypatia Scafidi as the new Leader of the party.
Scafidi, whose paternal grandparents were from Sarregna, Istalia, is a political journalist, lawyer and deputy from In Marea. She has been described as "cold-headed", "cold" and "calculating", with strong convictions.

Soon after her victory, she announced plans with Aelius Celer to improve their results in the next elections, and replaced three members of the previous cabinet: Icarion Dadhelus (who is also replacing Flora Labeo in the General Assembly of the party) by Acheron Makris; Vel Dillius by Leonora Rapti; Plutarco Khystan by Tabitha Mani and Decimus Tettienus Geta by Drakon Papadakis.

Game of Thrones: Selucia selects member of Supreme Court
Following the near retirement of Alfrio Lambda, parties start to look for a substitute in the Supremum Iudicatorium

Today, following the announcement of Iudex Alfrio Lambda, the Supreme Court will soon receive a new member in its Court. The Supreme Court of Selucia (in Selucian: Supremum Iudicatorium) is the highest federal court of Selucia. It has ultimate appellate jurisdiction over all regional courts and over state court cases involving issues of federal law, plus original jurisdiction over a small range of cases. In the legal system of Selucia, the Supreme Court is the final interpreter of federal constitutional law, although it may only act within the context of a case in which it has jurisdiction. It was created in 4100 by Ethan Megalos and Kyrian Aetius Flavius, soon after their party In Marea Possumus Facere came to power after defeating Factio Conservativa in the 4100 elections, as part of their electoral program in order to separate the judicial and executive powers in Selucia.

Athena Scudo in 4116 decided to limit the number to six and the Magni Iudex, in order to keep it regulated.

The Caesar Senatus shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Judges of the 'Supremum Iudicatorium." Most Caesares nominate candidates who broadly share their ideological views, although a justice's decisions may end up being contrary to a president's expectations. Because the Constitution sets no qualifications for service as a justice, a president may nominate anyone to serve, subject to Senate confirmation.

In modern times, the confirmation process has attracted considerable attention from the press and advocacy groups, which lobby senators to confirm or to reject a nominee depending on whether their track record aligns with the group's views. The Senate Judiciary Committee conducts hearings and votes on whether the nomination should go to the full Senate with a positive, negative or neutral report.

The Court consists of the Magni Iudex (Supreme Judge) of Selucia and six Superior Iudicum (Superior Judges) who are nominated by the Caesar Senatus and confirmed by the Senate. Once appointed, justices have life tenure unless they resign, retire, or are removed after impeachment (though no justice has ever been removed). In modern discourse, the justices are often categorized as having conservative, moderate, or liberal philosophies of law and of judicial interpretation. Each justice has one vote, and while many cases are decided unanimously, the highest profile cases often expose ideological beliefs that track with those philosophical or political categories.

Currently the Supremum Iudicatorium is divided in a proportion of 4-3 according to their political views: four of them are defined as progressists, while the other 3 are viewed as conservative.

Because of that, the retirement of Alfrio Lambda, from the progressist faction, turns this election into one of the most important in recent years, after the appointment of Gregorio Palliatus made by Partis Laboris to substitute former Consul de Popularis Tera Pisthis turned a 5-2 into a 4-3. The deal is in giving the Court its majority, by choosing a progressist Iudex (that will keep the 4-3 in favour of the left) or changing to a conservative one, that will turn it to a 3-4 in favour of the right.

The fact that the Caesar Senatus belongs to a progressist party (Aelius Celer is the Secretary of In Marea Possumus Facere), but have a Senate with a considerable number of deputies belonging to conservative views (Partis Nationalisti and some members of Magni Iucunda Imperialium, the two parties with most seats in the Senate), makes this election one of the most difficult and hard since its creation.

Caesar Aelius Celer has announced his intentions to look for a candidate that will satisfy both parts, but skepticism has arisen as he is known for his far-left positions in most matters. One of the names that may be considering is Tuccia Trimalchio, Iudex from the Korgana Court for more than 30 years, but she is seen by the most conservative parts as a total provocation, as she is known for her controversial declarations against religion and its supporters. Also Nonus Opis is sounding strong, with him being involved in other controversial declarations about the increasing influence of the Repubblica Istaliana in wars and the modern world. The decision will probably be made in the next months, and it will have to be formally presented to the Senate in order to confirm or reject the new judge...

Elections were held in Selucia, with In Marea Possumus Facere becoming the 1st political force with more than 36.74% of the votes, previous biggest party Magni Iucunda Imperialium falling to the last position and Laelius Domitianus, from Partis Nationalisti, becoming the first member of this party to reach the position of Consul de Popularis.

The Government we have had in past year was a passive one, with isolationism in its point of view. We could not do anything because we did not have enough deputies or influence, but now we are ready to acomplish our mission. We will start signing all the treaties the last Minister of Foreign Affairs ignored, being this one of his favourites entertainments. Also, the replacement for Alfrio Lambda has been set, being Tuccia Trimalchio the candidate proposed by Aelius Celer to replace him in the Supremum Iudicatorium. Now the Senate has to confirm or refuse her as new Iudex.

Aelius Celer announces he will retire from the first line of politics after this legislature, with more than 25 years of Caesar Senatus behind him, the longest ever in Selucian history.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me since the very first, and to those who voted for me when I presented my candidature to this position. Sadly, there is a time for everyone to retire, and mine comes after this legislature. I will not be the candidate of my party to the position of Caesar Senatus in the 4163 elections. It is time for the militants to choose a new Secretary, but I ask them to think before voting, and to check they will not vote for someone who does not share the great values our party and this glorious nation has.

Tuccia Trimalchio elected as new member of the Supreme Court
After months of speculation and confrontations, the veteran Iudex receives the approval of the Senate, defeating the anti-Istalian candidate

Waiting for the official result to be announced, everything shows that Tuccia Trimalchio, the veteran candidate proposed by Caesar Senatus Aelius Celer to replace the position of Alfrio Lambda in the Supremum Iudicatorium de Selucia , will take her seats finally next month. With 542 votes in favour (from In Marea, Cogitari and Magni Iucunda Imperialium) and the 208 deputies of Partis Nationalisti voting against, she will become the 7th member of this chamber, which sometimes have more power than the Caesar Senatus or the Consul de Popularis.

The judge, old friend of the recently deceased and former Consul de Popularis Tera Pisthis, has defeated the anti-Istalian and isolationist candidate Nonus Opis, who previously said:

I should be elected to this chamber if deputies have some common sense inside their heads. Our nation is slowly turning into a satellite of this so-called democratic nation named Istalia, and we have to do everything to defend our traditional values and cultural heritage.

Those words didnt feel right to the current government, leaded by the party In Marea, which has always defended the idea of an United Majatra and the special relation with Istalia.

Nonus Opis, identified as a far-right judge, didnt stand a chance agains the moderate Mrs. Trimalchio, feminist and moderated in all her comments:

If I get chosen, it would be a great honour. I would try to judge for everyone, and come to agreements with my colleagues, as this is what everyone should do. About the words my competitor has dedicated to Istalia, all I have to say is: We are defenders of the democratic values and human rights, and our nation has showed opposition to every decision any nation has made violating them, no matter if the nation is named Istalia or any other.

URGENT

High tension in the streets of Selucia after the actions of the Istalian government in rescue mission to Saridan

Following the actions of the Istalian Government in Saridan, killin more than 40 paramilitary soldiers to rescue more than 400 Istalian citizens, citizens of Selucia have come to the street requiring the withdrawal or the review of the actual treaty with Istalia.

We cannot allow those king of actions, killing is a bad thing to do as should never be allowed. Istalia has gone too far in deciding what is right and what is wrong in the International community, and we have to show our disagreement with them.

Those were the words of anti-Istalian judge Nonus Opis, well-known for his conservative views and his critics to Istalia. Most people in the manifestation, with an afluence of more than half a million citizens, claimed for a harder foreign policy about Istalian actions.

Xenia Harculae and Athena Scudo, former Minister of Defence and Caesar Senatus the first of them, and former Foreign Minister the second, were the impulsors of the Treaty with Istalia, and today they have risen to speak loud agains this manifestation.

A good relationship with all nations in Majatra and Terra should be our aim, and the treaty with Istalia is one of them. It is a treaty that benefits both parts, and does not forbid us to express when we disagree with them. However, we should not interefere in the politics of other nations in Terra, as our nation is Selucia and we have to work FOR Selucia.

Harder words were used by Ambassador Ajax Apostolos, who described the manifestants as "uninformed".

It hurts me so much to see this, specially when I am the one who has been fighting for more than 30 years in the General Assembly to keep Selucia as neutral and objective as possible. We have strong ties with Istalia because we share lots of things in common in political matters, and want real democraccy and equality in our societies. But, to those people who are now claiming us to be harder against Istalia, I tell them: every time it has been thought Istalia was not being right, it has been said by me. We have showed our disagreement in the way things turned out those months, but politics is more complicated than most people think. The harm is done, now we have to work together in a solution.

However, Caesar Senatus Aelius Celer will have to ask the Supremum Iudicatorium for a revision of the Treaty, as a petition received more than 2,000,000 signatures. Now is this chamber -the main judicial system of Selucia- the one that will decide the new way of the relationship between Istalia and Selucia. It is believed that nothing will change, as the Court is nominated by 5 progressist and internationalist Iudex, but there can still be surprised and the Government would be forced to withdraw from the treaty if the resolution from the Supremum Iudicatorium gives the reason to the manifestants.

Caesar Aelius Celer, a fierce defender of Istalia, also expressed his dissapointment:

I cant believe this is happening. It makes me so sad to see those protests against Istalia. I do not share the actions of the Istalian government against Saridan, but now it has to be decided by the international community along with us what will be the next steps, but certainly withdrawing from our treaty would not be beneficial for any of the two parts.

NEW PARTY ENTERS THE POLITICAL FRAY
There is a new party in Selucia, Motus Patriciorum. They present themselves as defenders of the Religio Seluciana and the patricii families which have not been around in Selucian politics for a long time. The current head of the House of Assedo has established the party and is the current party leader. He says that he's prepared to take Selucia back to its great days of fortune. However the House of Assedo has lost a lot of capital and the only possession they hold is their palace in the city of Assedo, they have great support amongst business leaders, who look to Motus Patriciorum to give more freedom to companies.

The Houses have not always been friends, since Assedo is more political liberal, House Commodianus more populist and House Draco more conservative. Therefore they have established a council with four women of each House and the Party's Chair, a man, to establish the program of Motus Patriciorum. Each House has one vote as well as the Party's Chair and they vote on each issue before they vote on a proposal or propose something to the Senatus Populi Seleuciae. Therefore this council holds a lot of power in the Party.

Analysts are not sure how many votes they will gather in the next election, since they're in a majority Hosian country and in a country were the patricii families have almost vanished.

The Supremum Iudicatorium de Selucia publish its final decision regarding the petition received by more than one million Selucian citizens.
The petition, signed by two million citizens, called for a revision or withdrawal from the Istalian-Selucian treaty after the recent conflict between Istalia and Saridan.

Today the Supremum Iudicatorium de Selucia has announced its decision on the issue after the petition from Selucian was sent regarding the rescue mission Istalia held which resulted in the killing of Saridanese citizens.

After the petition 2002/19 received by this judicial body, in relation with the events involving the nations of Repubblica Istaliana and Republiek van Seridjan, this body announces than:

-Taking into account the kidnapping and retention of 410 Istalian citizens by the Saridanese Government.
-Observing the scalating tension between both nation which ended including third nations, including this our nation Regnum de Selucia.
-Interpreting the dath of 47 Saridanese citizens by Istalian forces in a rescue mission.
-Declaring the most firmly interest of this our nation in the defence of human rights and the word as way of resolution of conflicts, never approving the use of violence as a first option to reach a final solution.

This Court declares the following:

The Regnum de Selucia, being a strong defender of human rights and refusing the use of violence in any of its form unless there is no other solution to solve the problems. This body asked how the events developed to the Selucian Ambassador, named Ajax Apostolos, who declared that, following the sanctions imposed by the Repubblica Istaliana to the Republiek van Seridjan because of mutual disagreements, the second nation decided to keep 410 Istalian citizens in concentration camps, which resulted in Istalia sending a rescue mission having as a result the rescue of 400 Istalian citizens and the death of 47 Saridanese citizens.

Resolves that:

This body understands the actions of the Istalian government, while keeps thinking non-death force should have been used, and condemns the killing of those Saridanese citizens. As a third nation not involved in the conflict, we express our condolences to the Saridanese nation, and applaud the final resolution of the conflict made by both governments by removing the Istalian embargo, but announces that this our nation will keep being in the Istalian-Selucian treaty, as this treaty benefits both nations with economic and cultural shares, and does not make us slaves of the Repubblica Istaliana, being free at any time to express our disagreement in a peaceful way to the Istalian Government via the Selucian ambassador in Istalia, named Kaeso Ryenis, or the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, named Altair Rodis.
