We ask for a day of mourning for the man who helped not only save our democracy and republic, but for an individual whom both conservatives, progressives, and all other factions of Selucia have seen as a noble man regardless of politics. We have also reached out to In Marea and the other parties to allow a monument be made in his name. Not large but enough where his home town of Ursaria.

Government selects new Ambassador for the World Congress; bilateral talks Istalia-Selucia

The Selucian Government, led by In Marea Possumus Facere, has elected Cynthia Amphion as new ambassador of Selucia to the World Congress, replacing Altair Rodis after more than 25 years of service. The decision, motivated by the also new Minister of Foreign Affairs Icarus Mavros, who replaced the internationally well known Ajax Apostolos, was based in terms of "renewal", although some members of the party see it more as a change in the movement of the party, drifting more to the left instead of trying to build dialogues in both sides of the political spectrum.



Mrs. Amphion is distantly related with the first Magni Iudex of Selucia, Lars Amphion, and she is well known in the political field for her declarations in favour of refugees, minorities, and her huge critics to the right voters and parties.

This is a provocation. A person that does not respect everyone and tries to be the more neutral they can should not deserve the position that Mrs. Amphion has just received. We are deeply surprised and will ask our Government to give the reasons why this person was chosen instead of others more capable.

President Marra from Istalia also announced the next bilateral meeting between Istalia and Selucia, a meeting which will be focused on the center-majatrana situation as announced. The leftist and highly progressive Selucia's Government has warned however that it will not be accepted any sort of ideological camps and it declared to be ready to condemn human rights violations as well as political and civil liberties but not the socialism.
The Istalian Government reassured Selucia, reiterating that Istalia's commitment was always the same as ever, namely defending and promoting democracy and freedom against dictatorships and abuses against men.

The election of June 4215 was marked by various surprises and change on the political scene. Four candidates participated in the election of a Consul Populi (the Factio Proteetorate instead supporting the candidate of the Partis Nationalisti), and in the end Cassianus Priscus of the Partis Nationalisti came out victory in a second turn, ending 5 years of In Marea.

Indeed, Partis Nationalisti was able to gain not only the Consul position but also 2 governors and 256 seats in the Senate, more than any other party (although it is less than what they had last election). The victory of Cassianus Priscus marked the first victory in a Consul election for his party since the election of Laelus Domitianus in 1963.

“The Partis Nationalisti has evolved since the days of Domitianus. We restructured it to fit the needs of modern Selucians and of society today. And now, I think I can talk for everyone in my party by thanking the voters for their faith in this new Partis Nationalisti.” said Priscus in his victory speech.

He also thanked the Factio Proteetorate, which decided to not present its own candidate and instead endorse Priscus during this election.

“I'm glad the militants of Factio Proteetorate decided to help my campaign, and I can't wait to work with them for the next four years.”

Cyro Aquila of In Marea Possumus Facere, who had held the office of Consul Populi for 15 years, was not even able to make it in the second round of the election, gathering only 23.03% of the votes in the first round. On his defeat, Aquila had this to say to the press:

"I am so grateful for having been Consul of this nation for four times in a row. Sadly it seems like I have lost the confidence of our citizens. I can assure everyone that I will work hard to gain again your confidence and show you why it is important to have me as Consul Seleuciae. I will not resign from my position in In Marea Possumus Facere, as I think there is a lot of work still to be done."

In the Senate, In Marea lost 72 seats, becoming the third party behind Partis Nationalisti and Factio Democratica. However, Aertemisia Ventor, the Caesar de Senatum since 4204, seemed optimistic about the futur of heir party.

"The results have been a shock for us, we cannot deny it. The left has suffered an incredible hit, with Populares losing almost all its seats and we losing more than 70 seats. It seems like the citizens have disagreed with our Government and they want a change. We have to accept it. We still think our party is the best to lead this nation, but what we have to do now is to work hard to show everyone why we think that. We congratulate all the other parties for the results in the elections, but advise Partis Nationalisti that we will not allow anything that goes against basic human and civil rights." said Ventor at an assembly of militants from In Marea, the night of the election.

The real surprise came from Factio Democratia, which was able to get 240 Senators and 3 governors elected. Its candidate for the election of the Consul Populi, Caeparia Milonia, was able to pass to te second round, although she was defeated by Cassianus Priscus. This election marked the biggest victory of the party since its formation, and was labelled a victory by the militants.

“This is the great win for left wing Selucia, and the party is delighted and excited to become the opposition party! We would like to Thank our voters and volunteers.” said Calventia Regina during the victory celebration of her party, during the election night.

Factio Proteetorate, which was created only a year ago, burst on the political scene with 82 Senators, receiving 11.15% of the votes. This great showing for a first election made many members of the party surprised, and its leader, Caius Felix, had this to say to journalists.

“I think that this election shows that the population want changes in the Senate, that they want senators who work hard to defend the interests of Selucia and the Selucian instead of serving the international community.”

Lastly, the Populares suffered the most from this election, losing almost all their seats in the Senate (keeping only 3), and gathered less than 1% of the votes. According to many analysts, this is possibly the worst defeat of the party's history. The current leader of the party, Floronia Caepo, as well as the rest of her team, refused to comment on the defeat.

Former Caesar Senatus dies aged 111.

Aelius Celer, Caesar Senatus Seleuciae from 4136 to 4163, the longest-ever in Selucian history, has passed away today at the age of 111.

Mr. Celer, who became Leader of In Marea Possumus Facere after Athena Scudo's resignation and won by a landslide the internal elections, was elected Caesar with the agreement of Magni Iucunda Imperialium and Simul Prorsum, both parties now disbanded. Due to the short legislature, he couldn't do major changes, but after the 4139 selucian elections, with a cabinet formed by Partis Nationalisti, Magni and In Marea, he eliminated the position of Dictator of Selucia, and abolished nobility titles. During the rest of legislatures he applied far left politics, but after the 4163 elections, where In Marea landed in 2nd position, he failed to be reelected as Caesar Senatus and thus announced his retirement.

In his private life, Mr. Celer was the third son of a member of the disbanded Factio Conservativa, Tullius Celer, who refused to recognise his son after he came out as bisexual. Because of that, Aelius Celer became a strong defensor of minorities and immigrants, as well as improvement in all cultural issues.

In Marea has decided to give him a street in Naylor-Marius, where he was born, and a university will be named after him.

THE NEW CABINET
March 2016

After months of deliberation, disputes and three proposals, a new government as finally been formed. The “October 2015” Cabinet, named after the date of the proposal, is a coalition of In Marea and Factio Democratica, lead by the later. Here is a list of all the members of the Regina Government.



The new Caesar Senatus, Calventia Regina, became the firstmember of Factio Democratica to lead a government in the history of Selucia. In the following days, she expressed this new victory for her party in a press conference.

“Factio Democratica and In Marea will work together for a better government. We will make sure that progress is made in the following months.”

Among the members of In Marea, there seems to be some cautions to total cooperation with Factio Democratica however, although they plan on working with them for to make Selucia better. In an interview, Minister of Foreign Affairs Icarius Mavros had this to say.

“We will keep loyal to the ideas, not the institutions.”

Not everyone is happy about this new government however. Caius Felix, the leader of the Factio Proteetorate called the formation of the cabinet a “usurpation of the rightful government”, referring to the fact Partis Nationalisti own the most seats in the Senate at the moment, but was left out of the government.

At the general surprise, a ministry was left vacant in the cabinet, the Ministry of Education and Culture. No reason was given to the press about why, however.

Now, the Regina Cabinet will have to deal with the current Consul Populi, and only time will tell if they will cooperate or work against each other.

Patriarchals answer church's rallying cry: "Selucia must become Hosian beacon against Communism"

Subasium - Following the warning about the Communist superstate in Majatra by the Arch-Patriarch, Benedictus VII, devout Aurorian Patriarchal faithful, still members of the majority religion in Selucia, have reorganised the dormant Fraternitas Sancti Justi III (Fraternity of St. Justus III), a political organisation which briefly formed the political expression of a revival of Hosian fervour in Selucia following the reunification of the Selucian and Theognosian Churches. Suspected of ultramontane thought and loyalty to the Church over the State, the brotherhood never gained much traction. Its present incarnation is more reliably Hosian Democratic and supports the Church doctrine of the separation of Church and State, but its members continue to be inspired by what they see as the Holy Father's call to arms against radical ideologies like Communism.

The princeps of the reconstitued FSI-III is an Angelican Friar, Remigius Adeodatus. Previously having served as the Minister of the Selucian Province of the Order of the Brothers of All, he obtained dispensation to enter active politics from the Holy See and resigned the office after the Arch-Patriarch gave his warning. Under his direction, the Fraternity has not just embraced an anti-Communist and anti-laicist agenda - it has also, according to the influence of the Angelican Order, increased its focus on drawing attention the plight of the poor, presumably not just because of the Angelican spirituality of Brother Remigius, but also because it would bolster the resilience of the Selucian working class and the poor to the tempting voice of Communism.

In opposition to the proposed ban on religious symbols, Brother Remigius walked right onto the Forum Selucianum in his habit and gave a thunderous public sermon in Auroria last week, challenging the authorities to deprive him of the right to wear even the roughspun brown habit girded with a simple three-knotted rope envisioned by St. Angelicus of Subasium for his brothers. Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs rise his voice against the last attacks to ideologies

Icarus Mavros, caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs of Selucia, has spoken against the words of some Majatran leaders towards socialism and left-wing ideologies.

Mr. Mavros, member of the party In Marea Possumus Facere, a left-wing, social democratic and ecologist party, has raised his concerns about what he has named as "words of ignorance".

Those who demonize socialism don't really know what is it. Socialism looks for a better living for everyone, to improve live conditions. Those nations that claim to be "socialist" but oppress their people should not be allowed to use that label, but also the others should not condem socialism but those oppressive nations. What infuriates me is those leaders that are claiming against socialism as the greatest of the evil in Majatra. Our nation can be taken as an example. My party was created in 4098 and has been in the Government of Selucia for more than 70 years since then. In that time, we have built better conditions for workers, middle-class people, minorities. We have kept Selucia safe while cooperating with the international community, we have built universities and hospitals, we have made a greener Selucia, more respectful with the environment... I have tried to stay quiet but the condenm of my ideology and all my party's ideology all across Majatra cannot be silenced anymore. I agree, we should take actions against nations that does not respect civil and human rights, but not blame socialism because IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

Fraternity of St. Justus III rebrands itself Fraternitas

Subasium, West Shadar - At a meeting of the Fraternity of St. Justus III's Capitulum, members of the Fraternity's executive have voted overwhelmingly to reform the quasi-religious movement into a full-fledged Hosian Democratic political party. In a move widely regarded as an attempt to build on the recent strong electoral performance in West Shadar at the last election and to broaden its appeal, the highest body of the movement voted to reconstitute as a party known as "Fraternitas - Populares Hosiani" (Fraternitas - the Hosian People's Party), or simply Fraternitas.

Founded in the 39th century amidst euphoria over the reunion of the Selucian Patriarchal and Theognosian Churches, the FSJIII has always been regarded as slightly suspect, strongly tied as it was to the Aurorian Patriarchal hierarchy, of Aurorian Patriarchal Ultramontanism and anti-secularism, though it has always denied this with reference to the teachings of the great Arch-Patriarch St. Justus III. Speculation abounds, therefore, that the leadership had come to regard the movement's ambiguous status between political party and religious movement as slightly inconvenient in voting for the rebranding exercise. While the aim of the Fraternity was to emancipate the Aurorian Patriarchal majority in Selucia, the new Party's constitutio states that it exists "to champion the message of the Annunciation in Selucian politics".

Some point out that this coincides with the election of a new, more Progressive Arch-Patriarch and indeed, sources tell this news outlet that the Aurorian Convocationes might have nudged the Fraternity into this step, regarding its ambiguous status as slightly inappropriate, even though approving of its aims. A spokesperson for the Empyrean dismissed this as nonsense.

The new party is also more democratically organised than its predecessor, which was ruled over by the Capitulum. The Capitulum remains the National Executive Committee of the party, but is joined by a Concilium or Party Council and a Comites, or Party Conference, which becomes the highest body. The movement's princeps Frater Remigius Adeodatus, carries through his leadership into the successor organisation. In another move towards consolidating and extending its recent gains, Fraternitas has announced a drive to form local branches across Selucia to replace its earlier rather loose organisation.

The Fraterculi (a disparaging nickname applied during the election to the Fraternity by secular opponents in the media which they have since adopted as a colloquial reference) convened for their first party conference the same week, with a keynote by Frater Remigius, proclaiming proudly that Fraternitas would work in government. "I think we have a duty, fratres et sorores - fraterculi et sorellae! - to take every opportunity we can to take forward the Annunciation of Our Lord into this nation's politics. To feed the poor, clothe the sick, stop and if possible reverse the moral decay that has caused Communism to rise across this continent. We'll take this gift we've been given from the people and turn it to the good of all - and I am certain that our movement will continue to grow under its new banner, with you as its beating heart."

Debacle in In Marea Possumus Facere after elections

Results of the last elections have come as a shock for In Marea. with less than 11 million votes, they have reached their second lowest number of seats ever, and have become the 4th party in the Senatus Populi Seleuciae, something that didnt happen since 4166.

Getting 116 seats out of 750, the party that has been in government of Selucia for the last 15 years as a coalition, has got their almost lowest number of seats, only behind the 103 seats the party got in 4115, less than 20 years after its foundation.

Members of the party all across the nation were visibly shocked, most of them dont understanding why those results. Also, in the Presidential elections, their candidate Mr. Aquila got the lowest percentage of vote ever, nearly 18% in the first round and not enough to make it to the second round. Mr. Aquila, who was Consul Populi Seleuciae from 4200 to 4211 (and in the 4200 elections, got the highest number of votes ever for a candidate from his party), has already announced his resignation.

"Today is a sad day for our party. It was our responsibility to show citizens how we could improve this great nation, but we failed to achieve it. Strict measures Should be taken, and that is why I present right now my renounce to my position as Leader of In Marea"

"We lost. It is hard to say it, but it is the truth. We have lost the faith of the Selucians. We have to admit it. I am so sad, and want to say sorry to those who still have faith in us but we cant fill the expectations. We need strong leaders that can take our party back to its victory days, and those elections have shown I am not the right person to do it. With all my grief, I want to announce my renounce as Secretary of In Marea".

Now the party has to choose a new Leader and General Secretary. The party, sunk in a big internal crisis, has congratulated the new Selucian government, composed by the parties Factio Proteetorate, Partis Nationalisti and Fraternitas-Populares Hosiani, but has also announced that they will not tollerate any attack to basic civil and human rights.
