The left-wing party gets its lowest amount of votes in the century, but loses less support than the other two main parties.
Odysseus Scalas with one of his councelors after the election results.
Tonight's results have shaken the Selucian politics. The three main parties, the left-wing IMCS; and the right-wing PI and PMP have been overcome for a new party founded just three years before the elections: the Conservative Liberal Party.
The elections gave a total of 269 seats and 3 regional leaderships to this new party, while Pars Militum Petulantia came into second position getting 225 seats, losing 89, and getting two regional leaderships. In Marea-Civis Sinistram fell to the third position with 155 seats, losing 70 seats in its way, and the big loser of the elections was Partis Imperialis, with 101 seats and losing 110, more than a half of what it had previously.
has announced the General Secretary of IMCS, Odysseus Scalas, a few hours after the results were announced.Of course we can't be happy in any way with these results.
The left has been relegated to the 3rd position in our parliament, and as only representants of it, we will have to do a deep research to find what has happened to allow this new party to become the first force in the Selucian Senate. We assume that probably it has been the fatigue of the citizens with the current politics and politicians, and that may be also a reason for the lowest participation in the century; and if this is proved, we will have to work harder to get our votes back again. This new party maybe has given new hope to the citizens, but after its cabinet coalition with Pars Militum Petulantia, it has shown its true self: another conservative party that has no aim to change the things in our nation, just to retain the privileges of the powerful and not to give a damn about the rest of Selucians.
The illusion for this new party has lasted short.
The worst news for In Marea-Civis Sinistram came from Insularia, where they lost the regional leadership and fell to the 3rd position in the regional parliament. The regional leader, Ares Zervas, has blamed the illusion for the new party for these results.
It is clear that the Conservative Liberal Party, despite its name, has presented itself as a progressist and secular new party, which may have actually taken away most of our votes in Insularia. I'm not worried about that fact, and these 4 years I'll be doing all that is in my hands to recover those lost votes, now that the CLP has shown its true face by accepting a coalition government with Pars Militum Petulantia.
But the shock did not end here, as the regional leaders of the party in Cor Patriae and Oriensos, and very active members in the national politics, Sepunia Mercator and Pristina Gallea, have both announced their resignations as Regional Leaders.
We have been both in the leadership of our respective regional branches of the party for more than 35 years. And now, after these results, it's clear than the citizens want new blood and new faces in our party to lead them. It has been an honor to be Praetors of both regions, but with all the sadness in our hearts, we hereby announce our resignations as Leaders of In Marea-Cor Patriae Forward and In Marea-Oriensos Sinistram. We will not retire from politics and continue in our seats as senators in the regional parliaments, but we will not be candidates to the leaderships of the regions for the next elections.
The party will choose their new regional leaderships in primaries soon, but the resignation of Mrs. Mercator and Mrs. Gallea is a bad sign for the party if they don't manage to find some new leaders that generate the same illusion as both women once used to do.
On the new budget, the General Secretary of the party has already stated that they won't support it, and has dedicated very harsh words to the Government.
It is foolish to pretend to spend more on military while there are many citizens who are going through terrible conditions because of the bad management of the central government. The current budget approved by Partis Imperialis and Pars Militum Petulantia already gives more money for the military than for Health and Social Services and for Education and Culture COMBINED. And now, with the new budget that is likely to be approved by the new ultra conservative and militarist government,
even more money will be taken away from Infrastructure, Health, Education, Science, Agriculture and Industry to be spent in Military, becoming almost 1/3 of the total spend of our nation's budget. That's just a total disaster that will lead our nation to the total ruin. But of course, an uncultured nation is what they want to keep winning elections in the nation. They want to ruin our healthcare system, our education system, our science system but please, the military has to be kept. Fools.
