Crusader Brotherhood forms hundreds of private schools across Vanuku

The Crusader Brotherhood of the Wrnukék Revered Ones (Wrn: Wrnukaék Blzhiék Krzvakailyk Brtsvo, WBKB) has filed official documents with the Ministry of Education and Culture to open hundreds of private educational institutions across the Vanukese countryside, according to sources close to the Ministry.

The schools, according to that source, will focus on education which "aids Wrnukaek youth in navigating the temptations of the modern world, including the sinful pursuits of liberalism, individualism, and republicanism, as well as foolish ecological utopianism and so forth." The schools will "provide a firm grounding in the tenants of the Terran Patriarchal Church, and instill a deep respect for the historical weight and calling of the Vanukese purpose as the leader of the Jelbic world in the face of aggressors on all sides."

The Ministry is expected to approve the applications quickly, as it is now controlled directly by the Crusader Brotherhood. Critics have noted that the Jelbic and Hosian School System Act of 4295, which is merely a formal re-recognition of the Ministry's ability to fund private schools as it sees fit, will likely mean that these Brotherhood schools will receive heavy funding from the state.
Just a bunch of shit.

Knsékbeidé Nrzilyké Prta launched a huge campaign against pro-Hosian school reform
The highly secularist KNP responded to new pro-Hosian reforms. Throughout Vanuku, a costly campaign was launched to alert citizens to extremist teaching at private Hosian schools. Hundreds of people went to Wiel street with banners to protest against teaching children in religious schools.
I do not want the children to learn that some political position is wrong! That's why I'm here!

Internal Ministry "alerted to Majatran Alliance plot to infiltrate Vanukese government," arrests six in Wiel suburb

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has evidence that the Majatran Alliance, long known to be a front for Istalian anti-Jelbic aggression, has sought to infiltrate the government of the Kingdom of Vanuku and do damage to the defensive capabilities of the Kingdom, according to a spokesman for Minister of Internal Affairs Dnkai Heijkaisrmko Skronores.

"The Ministry has become aware of a wide-ranging and broadly ineffectual effort by agents of the Majatran Alliance to gain access and do damage to Vanuku at the highest levels," said the spokesman. "This plot has been hampered through the arrest today of its chief architects who hid ignobly in a suburb of Wiel. These men will be questioned thoroughly to reveal the depth of their network in the Kingdom, and already our agents are working diligently to make further arrests. Citizens of the Kingdom are urged to report suspicious activity to the authorities."

The arrests come only shortly after a provocative "military exercise" by several Majatran Alliance nations but led by Istalian forces. The Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs have made no comment on that exercise. Foreign experts have questioned whether any plot to undermine the Vanukese government actually existed, and at least one Artanian commentator noted that this might signal the beginning of further arrests based on the "testimony" of these captured men. That same commentator noted that the Green Party of Vanuku is rumored to have ties to the Majatran Alliance party organization and urged international observers to monitor closely the actions of the Vanukese government toward supporters of that party in the near future.

Anti-Hosian school reform protests deemed to present "risk to public safety," dozens arrested at protest in Wiel

A protest in Wiel organized by the Internationalist Democratic Party ended with dozens arrested by security forces after the protest was deemed to pose a risk to public safety by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Ministry, when asked to comment, offered this response:

Hosianism is the bedrock of Vanukese society, and the protest in Wiel was dispersed both for the safety of those protesting as well as the safety of those Hosians who were threatened by the presence of openly anti-Hosian demonstrators on public property. The freedom of religious belief is paramount in Vanuku, and if these men and women wish to boycott the Hosian schools they are welcome to try their childrens' luck at a public institution or at a non-Hosian private school,
but they are not welcome to march on the streets.
Just a bunch of shit.

The KNP members, in response to the recent Wiel arrest, are preparing a general strike

The KNP today said that in response to recent events in Wiel, its members will soon announce a general strike. The party also said they would block the main streets in Wiel.
The state is still claiming that everyone has freedom of religion, but when someone does not believe it, the Hosian government does not like it and sends police officers against us. Therefore, in a week we will announce a general strike of our party members, about 4500. Among them are almost all professions from workers to the directors of large companies.
Spokesman of KNP Shoshn Hrijátkor

After this party's statement, several hundred other KNP supporters joined the party members. In their words, this strike should be paralyzing industry, infrastructure and banking.
We are well aware of the fact that we are obviously being thrown out of work, but we still hope that the government recovers.
Member of NKP

The party also said it would cancel the strike only if the government release demonstrators from the anti-Hosian demonstration. According to economic experts, the strike and blocking of Wiel streets could seriously threaten industry dependent on the infrastructure, especially in such a big city.

The KNP started a strike

Today, in the morning, KNP supported by the Green Party announced a general strike. Thousands of people did not go to work and blocked the motorway circuit around Wiel and much of the exit. On the motorway, miles of columns began to emerge shortly after the start. In the middle of the city, however, hundreds of other people demonstrated against the undemocratic regime in Vanuku.
We miss a lot of people in band production. About three quarters of them went to a demonstration. We are not able to replace this quantity at this time.

Demonstrators say they are able to strike until the state has responded.

Strikes, "not overly disruptive," allowed to proceed in Wiel; police clear motorways

The government has responded to strikes organized by opposition parties by allowing them to proceed. A spokesman for the government released this statement:

The right to strike is respected in the Kingdom of Vanuku. These strikes have been only minimally impactful, as the law requires continuation of vital services from strikers. The King, in his wisdom, is lenient with his subjects, who take for granted his benevolence. We shall not remain so patient for so long - get this out of your system and recognize that you have been given an opportunity to live in the greatest nation on Terra, and then get back to work.

The statement met with disdain from strikers.

Though the strikes were allowed to continue, blocking access to motorways was not - police arrested and charged 34 men and women with obstructing a motorway. The apprehension of these troublemakers was largely uneventful, though one violent protester struck and injured a policeman as he attempted to make an arrest. The protester was detained separately from the other arrestees, and the officer is recovering in Wiel University Hospital.
Just a bunch of shit.

KNP and Greens continue strike

The KNP, in cooperation with the Green Party, continues to strike and mass demonstrations. There are thousands of people gathered at the squares in Wiel to demonstrate against the undemocratic environment of Vanuku. The Wiel motorway is re-blocked by cars and blockades. The KNP has stated that many of their members working in vital jobs, especially doctors, despite the risk of arrest, will strike.

We will strike as long as the state has released all the demonstrators. But the state, according to its words, still can not understand that we will not take this strike as a big anti-Hosian "crusade" but as a demonstration against the arrest of innocent people who have been guilty of wanting democracy!

The KNP also says their strike and demonstrations will not be violent, and therefore will defend the arrest at any cost. The KNP spokesman said that if the kingdom wants to preserve the respect of the citizens, it should release all the arrested and let the demonstration pass.

Cabinet moves to end strikes
Controversial bill to outlaw the right to strike

Image
Police vans moving in to clear violent protesters from the J47.

October 4296 - The cabinet, on the request of the King, has taken firm measures to stop the senseless strikes. The monarchist news pundit Jeztri Jeztrisrmo Vrn had firm words about the recent protests. "These people protest against the anti-democratic government, yet this government was chosen in the last elections, these opposition parties are close-minded bigots who only want their will, over 70% of the Vanukean people voted for the Greater Nationalists, together with the Hosian party they have over 80% of the votes of the nation, which only shows how immensely pathetic these protests are." To battle the on-going strikes and protests the cabinet has deployed a large detachment of officers from the Royal Police to break up the protests. The main focus here are opening the roads, as the government has stated it is "unacceptable" that a group of "rag tag protestors disrupt the lives of millions". The government has sent letters of consent to over seventy companies to grant them permission to fire the striking workers, with this act the companies that are the victim of these work-refusers can continue their business once more.

The most controversial measure however has been the act to outlaw striking, this will give the cabinet a mandate to break up all strikes. Furthermore a government spokesperson made it clear the arrested protestors will not be released until after the lawful procedures have been taken place. "Violence does not make you exempt from the law, nor do threats of violence, I would say this only increases the problems for the detained individuals" said Marc Salyzr, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Justice, in response to demands by the Greens and KNP to release all arrested criminals. The Royal Police has also increased surveillance in areas of necessary service, with more police showing up in hospitals to assure that no patients will die because of selfish doctors who strike and refuse to treat sick people because they are egoistic dissidents.

KNP demonstrators quit

The KNP and Green Party protesters leave the streets and end the strike. They leave behind barricades and wreckage of shop windows. At night, they struggled hard in some places, but the government's troops pushed the demonstrators to retreat. There are dozens of wounded in the dust in the morning. Several streets block the debris of burned cars. Clearing these remnants of the night battle will take a long time, as well as treating the wounded.
