The Greater Vanuku ambition
"We are all Jelbics and we can not let our culture die."
The King's speech in the Holy Church of St. Lawrence addressed His Majesty's issues regarding culture and religion.
October 4274 - Yesterday the King, Prefect, and high-ranking government officials met with the delegation of Sultan Jens of Barmenia. This marked a new era for the Banmek-Sntazed monarch, who previously has always maintained the position of distancing himself from the Thaller family. At times the King, like his father, even spoke openly negative about the Dundorfian 'opportunists'. Yet with changing times come changing opinions and the Sultan received a warm and courteous welcome in the capital. The public photo session was held short as to keep as much time as possible for political talks. For several hours the two monarchs and their trusted ministers were hidden away in one of the meeting rooms in the parliament. After the meeting a friendly goodbye was given and the King saw his Barmenian counterpart off at the airport. Spokesperson Aldrkai Vrn stated the talks went "very well" and that several agreements had been made and that an announcement on these informal agreements would soon follow.
Today was the day for that announcement as all across the nation the King's speech in the Holy Church of St. Lawrence was broadcast. The church, constructed in the year 4031 to honour former monarch and now deitified Saint Lawrns-Wrntukai (Lawrence in Luthorian, Laŭrenco in Augustan), holds a special place in the hearts of the Banmek-Sntazed's. The King invited prominent nobles, politicians, philantropists, businessmen and other noteworthy individuals to the church to attend an "important announcement regarding the future of our nation". In the speech the King addressed the decline of the Jelbic culture and how many years ago the namesake of the church they stood in once united all Jelbics under one banner. The King spoke of religious strife, cultural negligence and a troubled continent. In his speech he specifically addressed Sultan Jens of Barmenia, calling upon him to safeguard the Hosians within his nation as the King considers them his kin. "A shared god forges a bond between men," the King said, before continuing about the decline of the Jelbic culture, "we are all Jelbics and we can not let our culture die, we have to fight to preserve our identity and that is why the Prefect has enacted the Wrnukaék Culture Act, making Wrnukaék the prime culture and language and identity of our nation". The King condemned the "dangerous ideology" of Metzism and called for Jelbania "to open their eyes, see the light and return to their Jelbic roots", stating that if they do not they are "surely doomed under the decay caused by the cultural rot of Metzism". Last but not least the King had timid but cold words for the Istalians stating that once more "Vanuku can only disapprove of the course of Istalia, their moral agenda is only their own yet the entire world must follow it according to their logic".
The King ended the speech with declaring that the old times should be restored. "We must look back to the times of my ancestor St. Lawrence and realize this should be our unified goal. I look upon Old Barmenia and see they once had the Greater Barmenia ambition, I say let us make a Greater Vanuku ambition! Let us unite the last true Jelbics under one cultural banner, let us unite ourselves against the threats of imperialism, Metzism and anti-Jelbicism! Let the Jelbic Empire be restored, for prosperity, progress and balance in Majatra."
Construction of first Támnr-class carrier commences
Shipyard Havendam hoping to finish first carrier in 4285.
A first segment of the hull being transported to the assembly yard, the carrier is constructed piece by piece and then assembled.
November 4247 - Dnkai Jeztrisrmo, the CEO of Shipyard Havendam, was proud to announce today that the first segment of the new Támnr-class aircraft carrier Támnr II was moved from the welding factory to the assembly yard today. This segment will be the first of five, after which all parts will be assembled together and the finishing parts will be done. Jeztrisrmo has put the current estimation of the Támnr II to be finished at Q2 4285 but many experts call his estimations "very optimistic". Though Jeztrisrmo is confident the target can be reached if "current government funding is maintained".
The Támnr II, when finished and operational, will be the new flagship of the Vanukean navy and the centre piece of the First Fleet. The Ministry of Defence also stated they are hoping to outfit the Támnr II with new naval fighter jets in 4290, five years after her planned deployment. This new jet will be based on an existing Trigunian model that has only been produced in very limited numbers, yet analysts and strategists of the Armed Forces that work in coherence with the Minister of Defence have stated that this jet has untapped potential. As with the Támnr-class the Ministry is hoping to take a proven design and improve it. It is yet unknown if the Trigunians are willing to license their design but inside sources confirm talks are underway to procure a license from the Trigunians for the Ti-33 (Su-33).
