December 4545 - Vanukean and Lourennais naval forces are to patrol international waters to safeguard the passage of merchants ships travelling to and from Keymon and Telamon.

It follows a decision by the Deltarian-led C.A.R.S.S alliance to, not only, impose economic sanctions against the two nations but to use military vessels to block their ships from sailing to and from port - in effect blockading their passage.

Among the Vanukean naval vessels being used to escort convoys will be the Third Carrier Strike Group Fleet, which is currently based at Keymon's Maddog Island. Lourenne's assets will include those based at Vanuku's Stormkaap Island naval facility as well as those from home waters.

In a statement outlining the agreement, Prefect Prince Dytrik Zhtál said: "Today, the governments of the Kingdoms of Vanuku and Lourenne have agreed to guarantee the safe passage of merchant ships travelling through international waters to and from Keymon and Telamon. This includes domestic vessels and those from other nations who wish to trade. We have deployed naval assets to ensure that these ships receive protection against hostilities and to carry out extended patrols to identify and deter potentially hostile forces.

"In addition, Vanuku will go on the record to state it is gravely concerned that Deltaria and C.A.R.S.S should take this action, which is directly in contravention of the internationally accepted protocol regarding sovereignty.

"If Deltaria or its allies have concerns over the regimes in Keymon or Telamon they should bring them up in the World Congress where the international community can resolve to investigate and, if necessary, take appropriate action. Until then we see this as an attempt by one faction to force its will on another - which is clearly unacceptable. In our eyes this mirrors the attempt by Deltaria to impose its will on Selucia regarding Malivia's claim on its territory.

"In addition, we have informed the Deltarian government that our third carrier strike group fleet is based at Maddog Island, Keymon, and will continue to carry out its operations. Any attempts to hinder the fleet's operations will lead to a severe diminishing of relations between our nations. Any hostilities will be reciprocated with appropriate force."

The Prefect said he would be making a further statement regarding Malivia's decision to blockade Selucia over its ongoing sovereignty row in the near future.

Prefect Prince Dytrik Zhtál has warned that further attacks on Barmenistani democracy would force Vanuku to act.

July 4546 - Vanuku has issued a guarantee regarding Barmenistani sovereignty and the integrity of its democratic system.

It follows the arrest of hundreds of senior BSNP party members who were taking bribes from a hostile foreign power in an attempt to subvert democracy.

Unconfirmed reports in the Barmenistani press suggest the foreign power was Deltaria. The reports suggest Deltaria wants to see a candidate closer to their own far left ideology take up the reins as the General Secretary of the ruling party rather than Shophet Tawaryan, who favours a more pragmatic approach to politics.

In response, the Vanukean government has issued a statement warning any further attacks will be viewed as an extended attack against Vanuku, and could lead to military action.

The statement says:

Any further overt or covert attacks carried out by a foreign power against Barmenistan and the current regime will be judged as an attack on Vanuku and the ideals of sovereignty and self determination we hold dear.

Any attempt to overthrow the current government, subvert democracy, or remove the rightful leadership of the country by a hostile or insidious act will be viewed as such an attack.

Any attack shall be countered by Vanuku as if its owns sovereignty had been undermined; appropriate action will be taken to rectify the situation, including, if necessary, military action.

Prefect Prince Dytrik Zhtál said: "We will not tolerate this kind of attempt to undermine the Barmenistani democracy. The underhanded and insidious attack is the latest in a long line of attempts to manipulate Terran nations' rights to self determination, through subterfuge, bribery, sanctions and military bullying.

"Vanuku sees this as a red line issue. We are very serious when we say any further attempts to undermine the Barmenistani government will be met with a very strong diplomatic and military response from the Kingdom."

Terran Sovereignty Coalition Stages Large-Scale Military Exercises
Armed Forces of Vanuku, Lourenne and Keymon Look To Boost Alliance's Interoperability As Tensions Increase Around Terra


A number of military exercises including mock amphibious invasions and coastal defence sessions will be staged as part of the inaugural TSC operation.

December 4546 - The three founding members of the Terran Sovereignty Coalition (TSC) are to take part in a substantial joint military training operation in eastern Vanuku and on the Majatran Sea next month.

The Kingdom of Vanuku will be joined by Lourenne and Keymon for the two-week long military programme, which will involve an estimated 60,000 personnel.

Vanuku has also invited a number of "friendly" nations, including Dorvik, Hulstria and Hutori to take part in similar joint exercises over the coming months.

The land-based elements of the TSC military training programme will take place on Stormkaap Island while the Vanukean First and Second Fleet will play a central role in the naval based exercises on the Majatran Sea.

At their first conference, the TSC allies pledged to hold six-monthly exercises to increase inter-operational abilities between the three nations' armed forces.

One of the exercises that will be looked at is "safeguarding the sea", based on recent actions by TSC members to keep sea lanes open around Keymon and Telamon following sanctions and blockades imposed on the two countries by Deltaria and other C.A.R.S.S. members.

Land based forces will carry out a series of beach storming and coastal defence operations aimed at both forcing an invasion and defending against one.

The joint military exercises will take place every six months on a rotating basis, with the next training programme to take place in Lourenne next summer. Telamon, which has recently ratified the TSC treaty, will be invited to join the military training exercises from that date on.


Hermes Space Station Module Completed

Meanwhile, the Vanukean national space agency Wrnukék Baotaghe Klarz (WBK) has now completed its section of a new $200 billion international space station. The module forms part of the Hermes Space Station, which has been developed in partnership with Kazulia, Hutori, Dorvik and Lourenne over the last quarter of a century.

Under the banner of the Arcadia Programme the project aims to strengthen relations between the free and democratic nations of Terra while breaking down the barriers of space exploration. It is hoped the Space Station will eventually lead to a manned mission to the moon involving the five nations.

The module will now be transported to Kazulia where it will the domestic space agency, SEED, will launch it into space where it will be incorporated into the overall Hermes programme.

Earlier this decade, the WBK was invited to join a joint initiative with Deltarian space programme. However, the Vanukean government intervened stating the dispute over sanctions imposed by Deltaria on Selucia made the proposed space agency partnership unfeasible at this stage.

Foreign Minister Embarks On Mission To Dankuk
Diplomatic Visit Aims To Foster Better Relations Between TSC Alliance and C.A.R.S.S


Baroness Anzlék believes reinforcing ties with Dankuk can help calm the current TSC and C.A.R.S.S diplomatic situation.

June 4547 - Foreign Minister Baroness Jezklune Anzlék jetted off for the Union of Dankuk today in a bid to try to ease growing tensions between two of Terra's biggest alliances.

-Vanuku is a founding member of the Terran Sovereignty Coalition (TSC) while Dankuk surprised many in the international community by signing up to the Coalition of Revolutionary Socialist States (C.A.R.S.S) and a separate military alliance with Deltaria.

Despite this, both Vanuku and Dankuk have a long-standing relationship through trade and cultural links. No more so than through current Vanukean Prefect Prince Dytrik Zhtál who is married to Princess Kim Hye-Ja - the niece of the current Dranian Grand Empress.

It is understood that the Foreign Minister will sign an accord of mutual amiability and respect with her counterpart in Dankuk, which will allow the steady flow of trade between the two nations to continue unabated, despite difficulties between CARRS and the TSC.

The accord will also serve as a bridge between the two alliances and will ensure an open line of communications exists, which will attempt to ensure hostilities do not break out.

The meeting will not be without controversy. The opening of a Deltarian naval base in Dankuk has caused much consternation among other north Dovanian nations. While ongoing CARSS sanctions against Selucia, Keymon and Telamon have been viewed very dimly by the TSC and associated allies.

However, a statement issued by the Foreign Office said: "Given the royal blood ties between our two nations and the compatible ideological outlook, as well as the ongoing trading partnership, it is only sensible that Vanuku and Dankuk should look to reinforce and clarify our bilateral relationship.

"We also see this an excellent platform from which to build better relationships with CARSS nations and to ensure a diplomatic line of communications remains open at all times."

While on the other side of the world, Baroness Anzlek is expected to add another visit to her schedule. After completing business in Dankuk, she is set to fly south to Yingdala (Indrala) where the new Taiyuan Party-led government is understood to have reached out to the Kingdom in a bid to strengthen relations.

The Vanukean government is believed to be keen to broker a renewed trade deal with the strong economic island nation and to secure either its diplomatic support or a pledge of neutrality in regards to the ongoing international machinations.

'Creeping Doom Of A Parasitic Alliance'

January 4548 - Prefect Prince Dytrik Zhtál has described Dorvik's fall to radical socialist revolution as a hammer blow for Artanian fortunes and has now warned of the creeping doom threatening to entangle Terra.

Almost overnight the ruling All-Dorvish League was wiped out leaving the Dorvik Republic in the clutches of the Revolutionary Socialist Party.

It meant not only had a powerful and key ally of the Kingdom fallen but a nation thought to be in sync with wider ideological interests of the Terran Sovereignty Coalition (TSC) could no longer be counted on.

Instead, just like Trigunia several months earlier, Dorvik is expected to be swallowed up by the Deltarian-led Coalition of Revolutionary Socialist States (CARSS) and be overseen by a totalitarian regime.

The Prefect said: "In a world of unpredictability, one thing is for certain - the extremely dangerous trend toward militant revolution and the overthrow of the establishment has taken grip. Quite why this trend is developing is not yet completely clear - but it is obvious many nations look to Deltaria as something they can aspire to.

"But I have bad news for these revolutionary countries: Deltaria does not want an equal; Deltaria wants to dominate CARSS and to oversee an alliance of subservient socialist states whose economies it can exploit, whose political will it can manipulate and whose assets it can acquire. In short, all the collective resources of CARRS will be channelled in to funding Deltaria's massive armament strategy, its menacing nuclear programme and its increasing habit of using a show of force to threaten other nations to comply with its demands.

"All other nations within CARSS will simply be fed scraps to keep them sweet or used as jackals to carry out Deltaria's orders by proxy around Terra.

"But until the people of Terra fully realise how this creeping doom is entangling our world we will see other examples of dangerous revolution and see others mesmerised by the foolish notion that CARRS can offer something better. Wake up, I say, and see it for the parasitic alliance it really is."

Regardless of the recent setbacks, Vanuku's diplomatic corps continues its relentless quest to foster better relations with nations around the world.

After completing her visit to Dankuk to sign an accord of amiability, Foreign Minister Baroness Jezklune Anzlék has now arrived in Yingdala (Indrala), where she was greeted by members of the Regency Council and Taiyuan Party-led government. The Baroness is currently holding talks with Indralan Chief Minister Sha Mei Xi and Foreign Minister Xia Bingwen about the expansion of diplomatic links and trade relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, closer to home, a groundbreaking deal to establish the Royal Petroleum Syndicate with the Badaran government has been hailed as a diplomatic and economic success by commentators around Majatra while the Kingdom is interested in re-invigorating its interests in Kafuristan, where it holds a 15 per cent share in oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

In other developments, renewed diplomatic relations with Beiteynu have led to the announcement of a state visit by King Yaziz Benifu to Wiel and the signing of a new treaty, while discussions are said to be ongoing with the military regime in Pontesi. The Prefect also announced that he will be reaching out to the new government and incoming Prime Minister Bognár Flórián in Endralon, whose views on combatting the "red menace" have been welcomed in Vanuku.
