Collective Leadership Or Bust!
January 7, 4921

Cde. Psote Tepio the brotherly leader of the Supreme Revolutionary Council has hailed a "new, era of collective leadership" at the end of the Second Congress of the Coburan Revolutionary Socialist Congress. Cde. Tepio gracefully ceded the position of First Secretary to Saif al-Ahmad who won the vote with 321 delegates picking him over his predecessor who garnered 277 votes.

Cde. Tepio will remain Chairman of the Revolutionary Council while Cde. Al-Ahmad will run the revolutionary party. Socialists everywhere celebrate this elegant solution and many praise Second Secretary Tiye Tasemes who is viewed as having brokered this compromise. She was unanimously re-elected as the party's Second Secretary and praised for her "masterful handling of the nation's diplpmacy". The party rejoiced and voted to condemn the rape of Socialist Seko by imperialist Indrala hoping that Cobura's small naval force attached to the Deltarian carrier will help end the Dovani crisis.

December 7, 4922

The ruling party's move to protect the Coburan Revolution's games by instituting itself as the vanguard party of the revolution is part of the new First Secretary Said al-Ahmad's bold plan to change Coburan society for the better. Certain pseudo-intellectuals criticise the plan as "dictatorial" and emphasise the "importance of free expression and, debate". We ask them - what is freedom? Is freedom from want less important than allowing divisive and anti revolutionary party to spew bile into the people's ears? No! The country needs one party with the right premises and has room for every Coburan to take part in public affairs. The Coburan Revolutionary Socialist Congress is that party. We need swift decision making to wrongfoot the enemies of progress which congregate in various capitals across Terra. We reject the confusion, sloth and decadence of multiparty system A country, like a man, needs only one voice.

Cobura Condemns Deltarian Military Coup
March 11, 4922

BELECO, ZARDUGAL Cobura's communist leadership has roundly condemned the Deltarian military coup. Speaking at a conference of successful socialist communes, First Secretary Saif al-Ahmad deemed the coup "reactionary fascist scheming " and expressed his regret at the execution of Valerie Volf the longtime leader of the Deltarian communist party. He threatened to end Deltaria's military presence in Cobura's and invited Deltarian communists to seek refuge in Cobura's and also declared his support of apparent massive protests as against the military takeover. Tens of thousands of ruling party members demonstrated in Sharba today in solidarity with the Deltarian

The fall of the Deltarian communist regime is a heavy blow for Coburan communism. Cobura's is politically and economically reliant on Deltarian communist support, the recipient of several billion LOD soft loans. The loans cushioned and covered the overwhelming failures of the socialist economic transformation with an increasing number of Cobura's surviving on remittances from their families who fled or emigrated during and after the revolution of 4914-16.

Cobura Rejects Deltarian Extradition Demands
February 17, 4923

BELECO, ZARDUGAL The Coburan regime has dismissed the Deltarian military government's extradition demands as "blubber" with First Secretary Saif al-Ahmad pledging to protect the Deltarian communist refugees. The refugees are thought to include a number of former Central Committee members of the Deltarian Communist Party along with several less prominent functionaries. Al-Ahmad said that the government would close down the naval and air bases by the end of the year by cutting off all local supplies of water and energy.

Numerous conservative and monarchist organisations have begun reorganising in the past few months since the Deltarian military coup. The fall of communism in the most powerful of the communist community of nations has spiraled anticipation that the Coburan communist regime might be on its last legs. The Coburan Monarchist Congress has called on the Coburan regime to cede power peacefully to an interim government which may determine via referendum the system which Coburans wish to live under, something dismissed by a government spokesman as "qat smoke-filled hallucinations".

Fascism On Our Shores!
February 3, 4924

Fascists aligned with reactionary Deltaria have landed on the nation's southern coast in Domale. Led by self-proclaimed monarch Yekuno II Bekele, great grandson of Pharaoh Yekuno Bekele (r.4780-4815) the fascist army rumoured at between 5_and 10,000 were welcomed by thousands of traitors and reactionaries in southern Domale. Socialism faces it's greatest threat in years as it seems a number of military units have mutinied and appear intent on linking up with the enemy.

The hopes of socialism are dashed through the devious bribery and demagoguery of reactionary capitalism. Lies about the First Secretary fleeing the country saturate the media - his absence is health related only. The people mist rise up and defend the bounties of the socialist state. No to fascism!

A Coronation in Domale, Cobura
June 7, 4924

BELECO, ZARDUGAL Yekuno II Bekele the royalist pretender who landed in southern Cobura with an army of some 5,000 men has crowned himself "King of Kings of Cobura" - the grandiose old title assumed by the ancient Kings of Domale. The cerrmony was held at the Churxh of the Holy Trinity in the regional capital of Zgmat. Domale has wholly accepted the 62 year old invader and an ethnic Mallan (OOC:Ethiopian) and he has established his control over the Nome all the way up to the northern mountains. Defections among communists continue with several regiments in other Nome declaring their loyalty. The communist leadership seems paralysed with party leader Saif al-Ahmad not seen in public in close to two months now.

Following his coronation , Bekele issued a declaration vowing to reunite the country under his leadership in the form of a federated empire consisting of four autonomous kingdoms. His army has grown considerably with tens of thousands of Domaleans volunteering for service. It appears that he is taking the path of caution establishing himself in his most reliable base and planning to move northward slowly.

Bekele Gains Irkawa and Tokundi
July 2, 4925

ZGMAT, COBURA Emperor or rather "King of Kings" Yekuno II Bekele has gained control of most of the crucial Nome of Irkawa. The Nome followed its most respected figure - the Godswife of Atem, traditionally the highest ranking priestess in the old Irkawan religion (OOC: Ancient Egyptian religion) Tiye Atemeyya announced her endorsement of the King of Kings along several other lessee Irkawan notables as a thirty thousand Bekelid force stood ready to invade the Nome. The godswife also announces that her youngest daughter Khensa is betrothed to marry Prince Tewodros, eldest son of the new monarch.

The sparsely populated Nome of Tokundi is undergoing a rather different kind of invasion with tens of thousands of Mallans steadily moving in each week and swiftly occupying various empty homes left behind by Tokundians (no doubt "urging' remaining Tokundians to consider leaving as they rushed off to Kundrati and other nations once the red curtain rose in Cobura. The few remaining The Coburan Augustans in the northern Nome of Egato remain aloof from the proceedings, the stone faced patrons who run Augustan politics weighing the odds, waiting for the tide to shift decisively. The communists remain strongly entrenched in First Secretary Saif al-Ahmad's native Nome of Dilginato.

Cobura Reunited Under Imperial Rule As Dilginato Taken And Egato Submits
March 11, 4930

ZGMAT, COBURA In a ceremony rivalling the imperial coronation in Zgmat, a celebration was held to mark the incorporation of all historical Cobura under the house of Bekele. The communist stronghold in the eastern Nome of Dilginato fell asimperial forces stormed the city of al-Damanish which served as the communists' capital and with several hundred casualties, successful seized in on May 25, 4929. Seeing this, several Augustan leaders in the Nome of Egato sent out feelers for negotiation with imperial forces and upon receiving an enthusiastic response, welcomed the same autonomy deal Irkawa got and the Emperor was crowned King in Augusta on March 11. The communists held out and upon their final surrender three days ago, the imperial government proclaimed the full reunification of the country scheduling today's celebration.
