O ProletárioBy Joaquim Xolani In an effort to attract more members to its youth wing, the SDT is financing the editorialization of a new monthly publication,
O Proletário. Aimed at teenagers and young adults, the magazine will cover politics, including the inner workings of the party, art, history, and events from around the world.
The Tukarese PendulumBy Guilherme Sato After the recent resurgence of the left and its electoral success through allyship, which is the driving force of the Tukarali of Hope Federation, one may wonder, could the right ever face such a renaissance?
It seems that the right-wing thinks so, as demonstrated by the birth of the National Civic Alliance, comprised of the Democratic Will, a Hosian democratic centre-right party, and the National Republican Party, a nationalist reactionary.
While they still are extra-parliamentary organizations, we have to remember that's how both the Juntos and SDT started, both are currently a part of the government through their alliance with the Republicanos and the SPE.
Unrest in the SDTBy Tomás Henrique Virgílio Xolani enraged the more radical section of his party this month by declaring full support for the Tax Reform of 5196. Amidst its taxation of corporations and luxury goods, it also established a new tax for essential goods.
"I do not wish to see me people starve", said Virgílio in a press conference, "That is why I support our honorable president's proposal, if we do not fix our debt, the future generations, your children, will suffer!".
Regardless of Xolani's words, a faction brews in the SDT, one that wishes to see to Virgílio's retirement. In the case of Xolani stepping away, it's unclear who would succeed him as president of the SDT, despite his vocal support for Silvester Fiorino, the current Minister of Education and Culture is also currently seen as an "untrustworthy capitalist ally" by the far-left faction of the party, which is growing in numbers.
What is Fiorino planning?By Gilberto Soares Since he has been appointed as minister due to SDT's affiliation with the Tukarali of Hope Federation, Silvester Fiorino has been weirdly quiet. But, recently, he has announced that a bill is being written by the party, its subject matter: Regulation of private schools and homeschooling.
While we will have to wait to see what this new law say on private education, it's reasonable to assume that Fiorino plans to ban homeschooling, as he has been vocal about his opinion on the practice. According to him, "The legal status of homeschooling represents society's failure to safeguard our children's right to meaningful education, an adult raised in homeschooling will be an intolerant individual and a threat to our democracy, we must avoid the creation of environments that perpetuate a single world-view and encourage ignorance".
