Wéiduōlìwān, From Tukarese News Agency Clandestine

The recent elections in Tukarali changed the whole politic scene of the country. The dAda rEvoluTion reVivAl who emerged last elections managed to take the majority at the Council. Small festivities took place in the suburbs of major cities. But no demonstrations. People are still scared of the police loyal to the old regime. Tukarali supporters of dAda armed themselves and gathered around the Council House to make sure that no one will be able to overcome the Council. His Eminence, Mullah Mohammed Selassie, Grand Sharif of the Holy Mosques, is staying silent. Rumors are saying he had left the country or is about to do so.

The dAda rEvoluTion reVivAl removed the cabinet. Salvadore Tzara, the new finance minister changed the budget of the country, approved by the new council. Tukarese people are now allowed to assemble every where. A new bill published today, proposes to accept any foreign ambassies. The actual situation of the country is highly intense as no one had any information about the future attitude of Hisbul Islam.

André Breton Junior, actual secretary of the dAda rEvoluTion reVivAl choosed Hépíngsēnlín to make his first speech after vistory:
Since the dAda rEvoluTion reVivAl managed to take more than half of the legislative seats of the council, we are asking our suporters to stay patient. The journey to freedom will take long. The recent constitutional changes made by the former cabinet will ask us to remain in peace. Changes are on the way. The dAda rEvoluTion reVivAl already managed to ensure that every Tukarese will be able to assembly. Foreign countries will later be authorized to establish embassies in the country. We, here, declare that there be no persecutions against the former islamic regime and suporters.

Motherland Party Sweeps Elections

Image

The newly formed Motherland Party has swept the October 3152 elections, winning more than 62% of the electorate's vote, and taking all regions except for Dhataan. The party candidate for presidency, Ganbaatar Sumagaysay, won the presidential election with a 62% vote. The Motherland Party, which is a conservative nationalist Mu-Tze and Tukarese party, pledges to resume the modernization and unification of Tukarali, after forty-five years of Islamic dictatorship and twelve years of fragile tribal and anarchist government. The Ekh Oron Nam campaign revolved around the promise to reinstate the House of Aynako as the ruling dynasty of the Tukarese monarchy, and now the party is just a few seats in the Assembly of Endless Discussions away from having constitutional majority.

Queen Sari, who ascended to the Tukarese throne in 3207, at the age of 17, is one of the youngest monarchs to be crowned. Her new husband, Emir Abdullah, is the younger brother of Crown Prince Husayn, the heir to the Kafuri throne. Three Years of Secrecy & Silence Broken
July 8, 3352
Image
Escort of the Nasri Family after landing in the Morata Valley. (July 3349)

KIROTA -- After over three years of silence and immense secrecy, the Nasri Family has finally come forward regarding their whereabouts. After fleeing Kafuristan following military coup in July 3349, the Nasri Family went silent, and even now with their location revealed, little is still truly known. A few days following the rushed departure from Kafuristan the Nasris arrived at the port city of Kirota in the Morata Valley of Tukarali. From there they were quietly transported to Nusira Lionta, a secluded, lakeside mountain city.

Not until today was it officially known that the Nasris were residing in Tukarali. However rumors did emerge regarding the possibility two years ago in the summer of 3350. It is believed that the Nasri's escape to Tukarali was aided by the reemerging Malagar Family, led by Rui Malagar. Malagar is now the Chairman of the Society of Patriots, a revival of the core party that establish the dictatorship known as the Republic of Greater Tukarali. And Malagar himself is a direct descendent of President Ryan Malagar, the founder of modern Tukarali.

The involvement of the Malagars with the Nasris seems highly probable. However this fact would provide for quite a strange clash of ideologies and organizations. The Society of Patriots is nothing comparable to the Nasris politics. The Society is authoritarian, nationalistic, and to an extent, corporatist. Meanwhile the Nasris established a record of economic and social liberalism in Kafuristan. But, despite this huge ideological difference it seems that the Malagars have come to the aid of the ousted and betrayed Nasris.

This story is not over however. There's even more oddity to the Nasri-Malagar connection.

When the rumors emerged two years ago about the Nasris being in Tukarali, the source of this information came from an interesting place. During that summer of 3350, still prior to the founding of the Society of Patriots, it was discovered that communications were exchanged between Rui Malagar and Jalal Al-e-Ahmad. While little is known regarding the details, what did leak was this incomplete paragraph:
Letter from R. Malagar to Al-e-Ahmad wrote:While ██ ██ ████ ██ ██ ██████ of the Nasri Family of Kafuristan, ██ ██████ t████ ██ refuge in our nation. ██████ ████ ██ ████ connections ████ ████ ██ ██████, ██████ ██ ████ ██ ██ the Brotherhood.

Shortly after the foundation of the Malagar's party, it joined the Brotherhood of Terror & Virtue. Jalal Al-e-Ahmad was essentially the nemesis of President Zayn Nasri, and the Brotherhood was a major target of criticism by the Nasri's party and government. Now the Nasris are connected to the Malagars, who are publicly aligned to the Brotherhood.

For three years now the Nasri Family have lived as refugees in Tukarali, thanks to the aid of a Brotherhood affiliate. Despite all the attacks from the Nasri Foreign Ministry against "Brotherhood affiliates," it would seem that not everyone is as bad as they seem to be. And on the converse, the Nasris have likely discovered over the past decade that not everyone is as nice as they seem to be.

The Malagarists Return!
April 12, 3354

Inauguration of President Rui Malagar, 15th-generation descendent of Ryan Malagar.

SANGON -- In 3351 a new movement arose, praising the Glorious Republic of Ryan Malagar and promoting the success of Shuya Nakagawa's Greater Tukarali. Calling themselves the Society of Patriots, or the 'New Aikokusha,' the political party has become very vocal these past three years in their demand for Tukarali's "return to greatness." The Society is led by Rui A. Malagar, a 15th-generation direct descendent of President Ryan Malagar. President Malagar was the founder of modern Tukarali and set off the beginning of centuries of economic development. His legacy has had a lasting effect on Tukarese politics and over the course of history many parties have purported what they call Malagarism.

With the foundation of the 'New Aikokusha,' the one-party state under the Tukarese Democratic Union has been ended and Malagarism has returned to prominence. The Society of Patriots takes inspiration not just from Ryan Malagar, but also from the original Aikokusha of Shuya Nakagawa. In the early 3000s, Greater Tukarali was created under the Great Dictator Shuya Nakagawa. Eventually it was designated that Nakagawa be the Eternal Leader of Tukarali. During the Aikokusha period the nation continued to see economic growth, and unlike the Glorious Republic, Greater Tukarali was maintained for many decades without major threats from opposition groups. Also during the days of Greater Tukarali was the founding of the Kanzo faith, which is now the largest faith in Tukarali.

The 'New Aikokusha' and Rui Malagar seek to reestablish the successes of these political eras. In just three years of existence, Rui Malagar's Society has managed to make a huge impression on the Tukarese people. R.A. Malagar stood for election against former president Andreas Magbantay and won in a landslide. Additionally the Society has taken the majority in the Great National Legislative Khural. It can definitely be expected that many reforms will be proposed over the coming months. Tukarali has surely entered a new political age!

KafuriTech Expands to Tukarali
April 15, 3354
Image
Opening of a Kafuri Motor Company factory in Kalipur.

KALIPUR -- Thousands of jobs have come to Tukarali over the past year as a result of expansion of KafuriTech, Inc. The corporation, founded by the Nasri Family of Kafuristan, specializes in energy and consumer electronics, as well as automotive manufacturing through its subsidiary Kafuri Motor Company. Events back in Kafuristan had put the company on life-support and initial intentions seemed to be placing KafuriTech towards total demise.

However, hope has been restored for the continuation of KafuriTech following its expansion to Tukarali. This expansion comes largely as a result of the Nasri Family having fled to Tukarali after being ousted by military coup in the Ahazi Republic. Central operations of KafuriTech will quickly transition to Tukarali and the new corporate headquarters in Sangon. It seems likely that company assets in Kafuristan will be lost, removing the KafuriTech name from its home. While the corporation is off to a great start in Tukarali, it will be hit very hard once it officially loses control of its Kafuri oil fields, which brought in extensive profits.

For now the Tukarese operations of KafuriTech will focus on consumer electronics and automobiles, putting themselves in direct competition with Tukarese heavyweights like Kyuma Industries. The corporation is still researching the potential for continuation of operation in the Tukarese energy sector. Unlike Kafuristan, the demand for oil in Tukarali is substantially less since the nation has transitioned more towards alternative energy. And also most automobiles in Tukarali run on alternative fuels. Nonetheless KafuriTech is looking into offshore oil resources and the potential to dominate the small, but existent, fossil fuel energy market. While the company does intend to still make us of oil resources, it has put most of its development research into wind and hydroelectric power. Areas like the Morata Valley could prove to be an effective operating region for KafuriTech wind energy. As for hydroelectric power, the waterfalls and rivers in the north could be effective in that sector, but expansion of industry would seem unlikely in these highly protected regions.

Enhancements of National Infrastructure
June 29, 3354
Image
Construction of roadways in Dhataan.

SANGON -- As one of the first actions of the Rui Malagar Administration, the nation has begun revitalizing and enhancing its national highway system. The system, and many other locally maintained roadways, was already in existence but with little formal structure or administration. Transport Minister Lourenço Urbina has instituted a nationwide effort to improve the federal and regional highway system. Additionally, legislation has been put forward in the parliament which will officially establish the needed formal structure for the highway system.

The federal government will directly administer the highways which connect Sangon with the regional capitals and also with the major port cities. Meanwhile, regional governments will maintain the highways which connect large cities within the states. While parts of the Tukarese highway system are complete and only subject to update of signage, some sections must be constructed. Construction will be occurring for the extension of the M-45 to Nusira Lionta and for the creation of the S-77. Additionally, most all of the regional system is Boruska must be constructed.

Given the current total lack of a regional highway system in Boruska, the construction is being heavily subsidized by the federal government. The Boruska improvements, while extremely beneficial to the local and national economy, has brought about major controversy. Most all of Boruska is rainforest and one of the region's major cities is located in a fertile plain located within the central rainforest. The only well-maintained and paved road to Loska runs from the village of Mituo and is only two lanes. During the rainy season this road is prone to flooding and often must be repaved every year. There are some very minor "roads" to Loska that run through the rainforest, but these are unpaved and often dangerous.

Loska's status as a major city makes it a place that should be connected within Boruska's regional highway system, but the rainforest has provided serious barriers. Even if the highway was constructed in place of the existing two-lane road, the construction would involve destruction of portions of the rainforest. Proposals have been made for highways to run south from Garoda, through the forest, to Loska or east from Tukedo to Loska. These are the most efficient and logical of options, but also the least ecological and most controversial. As of present no resolution has been found in the debate over the connection of a highway to Loska and it would not appear that any solution will be made any time soon.

Establishment of the New Greater Tukarali
December 18, 3354

Fireworks over the City of Sangon following a day of celebration of the new Tukarese era.

SANGON -- Less than a year following the election of President Rui Malagar the nation of Tukarali has undergone immense changes. The promise of a new era for Tukarali has indeed been fulfilled. Today was the official end of the Tukarese State (Tukarali Ulus) and the official founding of the Glorious Republic of Greater Tukarali. The name comes as a combination of the Glorious Republic, led by President Ryan Malagar, and of the Republic of Greater Tukarali, led by the Great Dictator Shuya Nakagawa.

The new Greater Tukarali has not only brought about a new titles and flags. Additionally, the Great Dictator Shuya Nakagawa has had his eternal rule returned to official governmental recognition. When the Aikokusha's Greater Tukarali was overthrown the status had been stripped by the Queranzist state. Now, once again, Nakagawa is designated as the eternal leader and guide of the nation of Tukarali. For obvious reasons he cannot physically direct the state and so the presidency is labeled as the "representative" office of the Great Dictator.

President Rui Malagar has declared a new age in Tukarese history and that the Glorious Republic of Greater Tukarali shall be the greatest State in all of Terra. He has expressed his hopes to continue the long process of modernization in Tukarali. While it is highly successful in the main cities and towns, there are still thousands of rural areas that exist in an almost third-world state. He is additionally faced with the trouble of modernizing Boruska, which is around 80% rainforest and often faced with destructive flooding.

Already some action has occurred in this new era. Earlier this year the federal and regional governments revamped the highway system and have started working on its expansion. Additionally, President Malagar has drafted an official declaration of Tukarese neutrality, upholding the millenniums of peace and avoidance of domestic and foreign conflict. Already the declaration has garnered recognition from five foreign nations.

Alliance of Liberals and Progressives founded
June 28, 3355
Image
For many decades, Tukarali has lacked a political party supporting small government in both the economic and social spheres at the national level. However, all that has changed. Thousands were in attendance at a massive political rally outside Sangon as the leaders of six progressive-minded local parties founded the Alliance of Liberals and Progressives (Aliança dos Liberais e Progressistas ; ALP). While the parties are still largely autonomous at the local levels, they will field joint tickets and have a common platform at the national level.

Luciano Manoel Gadanha Hortencio, the leader of the Democratic Party (Partido Democrata) and former Shrin Kali state legislator, became the first leader of the ALP, and addressed the cheering crowd.
At last, those that crave liberty have a voice! The advocates of freedom, marginalised for many decades, shuntered into a corner, have now emerged onto the national stage with a vision of a freer, stronger and more humane Tukarali. We are not divided as we once were; we are now united in pursuit of our goals.
The Tukarali people demand the right to live as they wish, according to their own beliefs and morals, without the interference of the government. The Tukarali people want free markets and free trade, so that they can be brought out of the poverty that consumes our nation and into prosperity. The Tukarali people want to come out of the shadows and engage with the world so that Tukarali may rise into the ranks of the great nations of Terra. The Tukarali people demand that the government fulfil its obligation to its people, to support them in times of need and help them out of trouble.
This is the Tukarali that we want. These were our dreams, which we have today turned into goals by joining forces. Alone, we are weak, but united, we are strong. And so we shall deliver to the people the great gifts of freedom and prosperity. This is the beginning of a new era.

The Alliance also unveiled its party platform:
We, the Alliance of Liberals and Progressives, believe
- That human rights and democracy are cornerstones of our society,
- That all people are equal and should be treated accordingly,
- That the beliefs and lifestyle of all people should be viewed with mutual respect and tolerance,
- In a humane nation where those that cannot cope on their own will be supported insofar as it is necessary,
- That private enterprise and not the government is the greatest creator of prosperity,
- In incentivising private enterprise by cutting taxes and regulation that smother our economy,
- In stronger protection of property rights,
- In a small government which allows private enterprise to provide services,
- In responsible spending and reducing wastefulness so that the government will never run a deficit,
- That secularism marks out the path to social progress,
- That our military capabilities need strengthening to make our nation an international power,
- In strong diplomatic ties and active participation in international affairs, and
- That our people deserve security from enemies within and without.

The Alliance is ambitious. In an interview shortly after the rally, Luciano Gadanha Hortencio told reporters that
We're aiming for political representation starting at the next election. We also hope that we can hold government after maybe three elections. After that, we can completely reform Tukarali and implement our ideals for a better country. We're a force to be reckoned with.

While some political analysis dismiss the ALP's hopes of entering government so soon as 'a pipe dream', other cite its grassroots support and long history of contesting local elections and say that the ambitions are certainly achievable. Already, enthusiasm for the new Alliance has manifested itself in the sudden rise in the membership of its constituent parties, with workers, academics, small-business owners and corporate executives all signing on to its message.

Tense standoff over nuclear weapons bill
November 20, 3357
Image
Outside the National Assembly in Sangon, two large crowds have camped out facing each other. The National Assembly is currently considering a proposal to create Tukarali's first nuclear weapons. It is predicted by many to pass with unanimous support. Some are not happy: in one crowd, the noisy minority, those vehemently opposed nuclear proliferation have gathered, shouting 'criminals', 'murderers' and 'sadists' at the National Assembly Building, hoping that the legislators inside hear their angry message. Separated from them by police cordons is the other crowd, condemning the anti-nuclear movement as treacherous and cowardly. This has been one of the most violently controversial issues of recent times, and has occupied almost half of all news broadcasting.
The leader of the anti-nuclear movement, Amika Yoshikawa, criticised the proposal for being inhuman and dangerous:
Nuclear weapons are not weapons of war; they are weapons of genocide. If we develop them, we will descend to the depths of immorality and put the world one step closer to destruction. We do not want this outcome. We're disgusted that those we've elected to represent us have decided that it's appropriate, in the name of 'self-defence', to create weapons which will slaughter civilians in their tens, hundreds of thousands, even millions. We condemn the legislators who have supported this proposal and we ask them to listen to their rational minds, which would surely tell them that this is a very risky move, and their consciences, which will tell them that it's just evil. Utterly horrible and evil. It will destroy our nation.

The leader of the pro-nuclear movement, Hugo Fernando Inocencio Ianhes, returned fire, contending that nuclear weapons would contribute to peace and security:
Sure, nuclear weapons are pretty terrible devices. But the idealism of the anti-nuclear protesters is foolish. They have been totally blinded to the reality on the ground, and that is, we are a neutral nation whose current lack of military preparedness may be exploited by our enemies. With nuclear weapons, we'll be able to defend ourselves and prevent this.

Scientists, while rarely featuring in protests, are also debating the proposal; they have every right to - they will be the brains at the front line of any nuclear project in Tukarali. Opinion amongst scientists is divided. Some violently oppose the proposal and have public said that they would refuse to participate in such an endeavour. Most are ambivalent, and are willing to give it a pass or do it, depending on what the government says. Some, however, have been actively pushing for a nuclear project, saying that nuclear technology which has been developed in Tukarali will be put to good use in bolstering its defences.
The protests are expected to continue at least until the legislation either passes or fails. Until then, outside the National Assembly, on the media and in scientific circles, the tense standoff is only going to heat up.
