PPS proposes "radical" education and health reforms, Branco stresses cooperation
Largely seen as radical by the right-wingers, the PPS's Party Secretary Mário Branco has stressed cooperation for national prosperity.

Over the past few months, the PPS has proposed several reforms aimed at establishing a strong social welfare system in regards to Tukarese healthcare and job health and safety standards, along with proposing several changes to the nation's education system in order to give Tukarese children and teens a more "robust" national school system. Hailed as a step in the right direction by his party, they have nonetheless been decried by right-wing parties before the legislature as "radical". Firing back at their comments, Branco stressed cooperation for national prosperity and stated that his reforms would allow for future generations to have economic security and truly achieve their goals. Correio Tukarali has provided an excerpt of his deliberation below.

Members of the National Assembly,

While you critique these proposals as "radical", they are essential for the furthering of progress for our nation. Due to the hands-off approach to both our nation's healthcare and schools, Tukarese children are lacking in both an adequate education and decent healthcare. I simply wish to make a change for the betterment of all our people. This is not some socialist or communist takeover—Our people are too afraid to seek medical attention out of fear that they'll either be unable to afford it or they do not wish to deal with the hospital bills. In reports publicized by the Boruska National Institute, an estimated 25% of our nation's population self-medicates, often leaving them with diseases or developing disabilities due to lack of experience in treating specific injuries.

We urge parties, both on the center and right to side with us, for the sake of securing a strong education for our children and an adequate national healthcare system for our citizens.

Currently the National Assembly has yet to reach a decisive vote on the legislation, but many are expecting a mixed bag of results. Rumors have circulated that the USH has expressed a willingness to cooperate with opposition parties on certain policies, which could prove to be a significant boon for the advancement of the PPS's goals, but this willingness remains to be seen. The PDL has continuously expressed opposition to the PPS's economic reforms, decrying them as an overstepping of government authority, while Branco himself has stated the exact opposite, declaring that moderate economic intervention is the key to securing a strong economy while also providing fair treatment to Tukarese workers.

President Vaz announces creation of GESO, expansion of oil drilling
President Vaz and his governing coalition have announced the creation of GESO and a expansion of drilling operations for PetroTUK

The government has now been in power for around 2 years and has already tried to launch several stimulus programs to aid the private sector. But today the president and his government announced a plan to create GESO or Government Economic Stimulus Organization (Organização de Estímulo Econômico do Governo)
GESO will focus on using government funds to subsidize certain industries and sectors of the private economy that have potential to grow substantially. The organization will also be used to subsidize failing bussinesses that are critical to society, it can not however nationalize those companies on behalf of the government.

The new organization will try to stimulate the economy significantly by encouraging private bussiness to innovate in order to get GESO funding and by ensuring a healthy private market stays intact. In addition to this new organization being launched by the government president Vaz also announced that he has personally authorized more licenses to be given to PetroTUK for oil drilling as well as allowing PetroTUK to drill for more oil, causing the GESO organization to be mostly funded by tax income from the oil drilling.

Further deregulation is also in the works to "increase the flexibility of the Tukarali economy"
The government has pledged that GESO will get around 250 billion TUK to distribute in subsidies each year.

PPS holds first party elections, signals change in economic policy
With the party's first elections concluding at their headquarters in Sangon, Jorge Velho, a social liberal, has been confirmed as Secretary.

Having been delayed by over a year for reasons still unspecified, the Partido do Progresso Social has concluded its first leadership elections today. Conducted on the 7th anniversary of the party's founding in 4540, the conclusion has been a surprising upset for what was expected to be a second term for Mário Branco. Winning by a slim 2.25% majority, Jorge Velho, a member of the party's social liberal wing has been confirmed as Secretary. Maria Bezerra, the current President of the PPS has also managed to secure another term, winning a comfortable landslide. Addressing the crowds after the results were called, Senhor Velho congratulated Branco for establishing a strong party those seven years ago and for being a fearless proponent of progressive policies on the political scene.

When asked by a member of the crowd his positions on economic policy, an issue that the party has frequently come into friction with the ruling center-right coalition over, Senhor Velho stated that under his tenure, the PPS would pursue a centrist policy on the nation's economy. Giving a small critique on Branco's stubbornness on willing to pursue change, instead sticking to partial nationalization policies and granting subsidies to low-income earners even when it resulted in massive defeats for the PPS last year on both healthcare and education policies, two core values of the party. Velho pledged support for cooperation between both opposition parties and the governing coalition, stating that the now social liberal dominated PPS would work for passing more economic policies, regardless if they were in support of further deregulation or not.

Pressed by yet another member on the crowd on the possibility of reverting back to some of Branco's core ideals if the PPS was to make sweeping gains in the June 4549 elections, Velho stated that if it was possible, then by all means he would revert back to the policies espoused by Senhor Branco. "If we are to make sweeping gains in the 4549 elections, then by all means I would support moving away from the centrist economic proposals and return to Branco's policy of partial nationalization." Velho's statement has largely been seen as a bold move and a risky gambit by fellow factions of the party. After the conclusion of the elections, a reaction from fellow opposition parties, along with the governing PDL-USH coalition remains to be seen.

Major Change Afoot In Tukarali, Old Ideas Receive New Focus
The Military Coup of 4664 has been surprisingly popular, metrics suggest widespread approval of Gómes Regime.

On December 8th, 4664, Years of rule by Partido Progressista (the Progressive Party,) a socialistic political grouping characterized by significant corruption and cronyism came to an end. After decades of grumbling and discontent from much of the rural and middle class community, the scions of nobility, and the Aurorian Church with unpopular permissive social policies, libertarian handling of 'scandalous' behavior of certain sectors of the citizenry, and almost punitive secularization, the regime of Presidente Ana Lima fell. On that morning, without much warning at all, The Palahcia Presidential in Sangon (Tukaralía) was occupied by the military detachment attached to the capital city. Led by General Afonso de Mendoça Gómes, a thirty year veteran of the Tukarali armed forces, the detachment declared the end of the Progressistas' rule of Tukarali. Former Presidente Lima resigned with little difficulty, though she refused to do so initially. After the capitals and government buildings of the Estados were occupied by the União Nacional de Restauração paramilitary group Vanguarda da União (Vanguard of The Union) and other rogue military units, most official executives fled or resigned and acquiesed to the demands of the new União Nacional regime. After a week of holdouts, the Progressista members of the Assembléia Nacional who had refused to surrender their offices exited on the 15th, mostly leaving the country or renouncing their Progressista membership and the corruption and immorality they had supported.

Regime change isn't usually very popular, but in this highly conservative country, with a socially influential Church, and traditional values held by most of the population, the coup was like a breath of fresh air. To maintain a steady mandate, the regime of General Gómes and the União Nacional allowed elections to commence as planned in 4665. After votes were tallied, the Aurorian integralist and conservative União Nacional de Restauração won a significant majority of the seats in the Assembleia Nacional. A smaller, pro-coup party won a few, but less than a third of the seats.

General Gomes, however, won the Presidential election by a massive margin, running a campaign that echoed many of the themes of the speech he delivered after the coup. He consistently stated that the family is the essential building block of Tukarese society, and that government is responsible for the temporal needs of the nation, the people, and must be submissive to the Church in order to allow for the actualization of spiritual good. On a policy level, he vocally made clear that the welfare system would transition from an "individualist and materialist socialist system that has failed us all" to one that "promotes the family, especially poor families and large families that are open to the gifts of children." But most controversially, the President made clear that he had doubts about the goodness of the Republican system: "while democracy is important to operating society in a mutually pleasing manner, it does not account for moral issues at all times, and there is much to be said for a constitutional monarchy." However, Gomes has denied accusations and rumors that he planned to have himself crowned King.

The new government is strongly aligned with the Hosian Apostolic Church of Terra (the Aurorian Church) and happily coexists with it. The first act of the new government, after elections had provided a popular mandate, was to restore the Church's status as the state religion of Tukarali:

This act reestablishes the primacy of the Holy Apostolic Hosian Church, whose creed is confessed rightly by the majority of the Tukarese people, as the moral and institutional guide of the state. Herein, it is recognized that the Arch-Patriarch in Auroria, and the magisterium of the Church are rightful guides and possessors of truth on the spiritual. Therein also, it shall be recognized that the Bishops in Tukarali of that Holy Church posses fully the rights to exercise magisterial authority, and provide moral and confessional guidance to the state.

As such, the Aurorian Church's regular territorial parishes and clergy will receive state subsidy, and Aurorian prayers will begin to be recited at the commencement of classes every day. In addition, while declaring Aurorianism the state religion, the bill guarantees recognition to the Ameliorate Duntrekker Church, a move mostly speculated to be an extension of an olive branch to the nation of Saridan, which is geographically on the same continent as Tukarali, and similarly very conservative.

The regime is focused also on rebuilding infrastructure and instituting market reforms. More to come.

Ambitious New Budget Aims for Military Modernization, Improvement of Infrastructure

After a year of quiet regarding their infrastructure and military programs, the União Nacional de Restauração regime of General Afonso de Mendoça Gómes has finally formulated a budget to fund their ambitious plans dealing with national development. Anti-corruption measures established almost immediately after the 4665 military coup have left the government of Tukarali with a substantial budget surplus of 581,238,020,224 TUK. Previously, this money was squandered under the socialist Progressistas government at all levels, especially locally.

In a press conference in late June, Marta de Silva Pessoa, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, announced that a planned new budget would "increase the Ministry's capacity to direct construction of new roads into rural and forested interior regions of Tukarali, in addition, funding will allow us to bolster our airport and seaport infrastructure, which are particularly out of date." It is also clear that improving current roads will be a major priority, as will be mass transit grants to Tukarali's increasingly crowded cities.

New transportation projects are to include the construction of 100 km of highway into the forested regions of the Morada Valley, including complex bridge construction over rivers and crevasses, as well as the expansion of 270 km of highway into Borusca's rainforests. These projects are to make up a little more than a quarter of the new allocation. In addition, 300,000,000 TUK are to be allocated to expanding rail infrastructure across the country to enable more passenger and freight connectivity. Seaport to rail connectivity is also to be improved. 20,000,000 TUK are to be focused in grants to the Estados to develop regional roads and mass transit capabilities.

Large expansion to the defense budget is not as planned, however. It is known that the Gomes regime has large and ambitious plans for military modernization and improvement. Recent legislation has focused on restoring military discipline and tradition to improve combat readiness, and from the current government's inception it has been clear that defense is to be the top priority. Experts speculate that naval modernization will be a significant area where the budget allocation to the Ministry of Defense will be seen. Major surface combat ships of the Tukarese Republican Navy are five to six decades old, which is concerning in a region where military power is largely focused on naval dominance and capabilities. It is likely that partnership with foreign powers will be sought to help modernize Tukarali's navy and improve its war readiness.

In addition, new armored vehicles and tanks capable of operating on the regions' diverse and tricky terrain will likely be prioritized. New camoflages will also likely be developed. The Minister of Defence, Silvião de Sousa Meyer, says that "Tukarali will develop a military that is the pride of this part of Seleya. We plan to continually expand our military, especially our aviation and seafaring capabilities."

The Tukaralian Communist Party was established on 1 June 4676 by David Lindauer as the new workers' party after years of oppression from a far-right party that cared only for dividing people and keeping a class warfare under control by lying, manipulating and distracting workers from the real issues of Tukarali. The party was created with the intention to fix this issue and bring equality, humanity and liberty in Tukarali once again. No more class division, capitalists or oppressors, no more dividers and manipulators of the working class, no more hatred and profiteering, no more private property that enslaved the people, no more corruption from the capital or wars, no more corporations enslaving the workers by wages and indecent living and working conditions. No more oppression against the trade unions as well, no more ban on striking or freedoms of the proletarians! Fair taxes, fair laws, equality! Healthcare, education, infrastructure, transportation, energy, agriculture, industrial sectors, banks and not only shall be given to the workers and be owned by everyone not only the riches! The government shall intervene and help the people, help everyone, all not only the few! The Dictatorship of the proletarians shall commence as soon as we get to power! Lindauer explicitly said that this new party will seek the betterment of the Tukaralian society, until now only the few prospered from an unfair nationalist, chauvinist, traditionalist and corrupt system, where profits ruled over people and poverty was a thing. Under the new democratic regime of PCT everyone will have a fair share of the means of production as all workers will seize all the means of productions through a successful socialist revolution! Political crisis leads to communists protesting against the current government, discontent growing
The recent political scene of Tukarali is one of turmoil and instability. With the far-right government led by the Restoration coming ending, the troubles came too. The bad governance of the rightists led to an ever increasing economic inequality between the different classes and tensions between left and right never seen before. The overly conservative, traditionalist and nationalist party created a perfect environment for corruption, oppression and division, as hatred and separatism appeared too. These elements of the old elite that drove Tukarali into a crisis both economically and socially are now fearing a communist takeout.
The young, the communists and not only are seeing this and are pushing for early elections, as million of people under PCT are marching, protesting and rallying about new early elections. The poorer classes came with red flags and chanted communist songs alongside PCT members.
The police did not intervened yet, but the protests are still generally peacefully and violence occurred only in isolated spots. The millions of people are demanding new fair elections, a true democratic system, fair laws and social equality, as the rate of poverty is staggering huge.
The PCT leader, Lindauer held a public speech in front of the crowd gathered around the Government in Sangon, the capital of Tukarali.
Lindauer said:
"We are here to proclaim what is rightfully ours! Every citizen of Tukarali deserves best, food, housing, peace, love and protection! The old regime disregarded our needs and separated us on various reasons, manipulating and distracting the lower classes from the real issues that Tukarali faced for far too long! It is time we change that and take stance against the old regime! It is time we take power and change the nation for the better! This status quo kept by the old party and the inactive government must break under our heavy march and chants, under our red banner of socialism and democracy! Come up and stand for your rights! Stand for a better life and a brighter future for Tukarali and it's future generations! Onward comrades! Onward toward progress!"

Workers enter Parliament and PCT holds early elections as old government collapses
The upcoming of protests were mass arrest on leaders and lack of response on the issue of early elections, as the old government tries to hold on the power. The National Union for Restoration party that was in power tried to negate the legitimate existence of PCT. The far-right party denounced the communists and denied any will to reform.
The upset crowd gathered in front of the government, not willing to back off marched for Parliament and with red banners burst in the building and took by surprise the UNR that was holding a meeting. The young and the workers then forced the resignation of UNR and with the incoming of the leaders of PCT inside the Parliament with Lindauer in front, the old government was declared illegitimate and new elections under PCT were held.
The outcome was expected, as the only party standing in nation, the PCT obtained all the votes of the people. This backing of millions of people gave finally a voice to the poor, the workers and not only!
With this a new Congress by PCT was hold and a new Cabinet was drafted alongside economic reform planned to adjust the nation's many issues. One of the documents proposed in Parliament by the 270 communist MP's is nationalization in first stage of all public utilities and companies, industry, agriculture, healthcare and education are few items from the act that will be soon moved on the property of the state. The workers and farmers will finally own the means of production and the inequality perpetuated by the oppressors will disappear.
With PCT huge reforms are announced and the first five-years plan is yet to be fully agreed upon.

The government of Tukarali finally passed the bill on nationalization of all key industries
The government under PCT is passing an act to nationalize and as of July 4674, almost all important industries and assets had been nationalized. The new communist government under Lindauer passed laws after laws to take the toys of the oppressors who made some protests against the fight for equality and the proletariat. The new government sees this an act against humanity, as they are opposing reforms that will abolish the need for private properties and thus the biggest source of inequality. The workers had been for too long oppressed and kept down by the capitalist class who ensured they get all the benefits from the working class and own all the means of productions. It is time our economy works for everyone.
Lindauer and his government proposed a new five year plan, in this the main focus will be building new factories in a rapid industrialization process to keep up with the demands of the market. In order for the nation to be able to keep up with the other nations it needs to increase output of raw materials, and as such the governmetn will start inserting 10 billion from the national budget into a five year plan to revitalize the economy through plans on building more factories that will produce cars, planes, carpets and textiles, different smaller industries in other sectors. Thanks to the new government planned combined with the nationalization of industries, the workers will be then free from oppression of being slaves of the corporates, will be able to work properly in safe conditions in state owned companies that will ensure unemployment will be a thing of the past.
The new five-year plan had been approved by other PCT members and it will be ready to be administered as soon as possible as the nationalization of industries is full.
Alongside these reforms, the government will start slow collectivization of all arable lands and not only, the government will plan to make education, transportation and healthcare free, as well the housing. Millions are expected to be given houses and access to basic needs. The government will start proposing laws in that direction as soon as the plans for the next five years of the glorious revolution is finished. Workers are invited too to attend the meetings and say their opinions.
Other bills passed alongside this, one proposing higher taxation for businesses and enlarging workers' rights.

Sangon Government to adapt new laws and projects on religion, security & judicial and mining
The Sangon officials proposed several new laws into the People's Assembly to be voted upon. The Assembly formed of 270 members debated new issues that the revolution faced. One of the most important issues were the economy, security and religious influence on the state.

One of the first reforms to be proposed upon was the laws upon religion. As religion played a massive role in oppressing people under the UNR leadership, plus with other privileges and powers the church had, the new communist governments found important to start secularization plans. Under the new acts the people that recently passed was the prohibition of religious figure in being able to influence in any way the government, separation of church and the state, dismissal of any religious minister and cutting all the welfare for recognized cults. The new rule under communists will defend the workers, as the Assembly is voting upon a second law upon religious cults, an amendment to the Secularization law, a plan to further pull out religion from schools altogether and promote themselves without approval. The government will continue tho to protect freedom to have own religion.

The next issue is economy. The government is seeking to improve the low economy and the aftermath of nationalization under workers' ownership. In order to help the workers owning the companies now, the government will start plans and discussions upon subsidizing them. One plan is to ensure housing for everyone. Since the government seized all housing plans, the government plans an 5 billion money to be poured into a Housing Act that will ensure all people will have a house to live in. The bigger houses will be split for people while the government will start building new sky-scrappers for everyone to live a fair life with acceptable standards worthy of this millennium. Water, food, heat, electricity and more will be assured to the people living in the new apartments. The government thinks of subsidizing the family and the poor as well, but currently the government is discussing further plans on helping the nationalized mining sector. With the discovery of oil and gas, the government will plan to pour cash into growing a strong industrial complex around it and on building factories that will chum with new high quality products that will be made by workers, for workers!

The last problem up to the table into the Assembly and ruling party is the security issue. The government realized that the revolution is not yet assured to survive from possible coups or worse. As such, the PCT for caring of the workers proclaimed that the media content, speech, protests and not only to be secured by the state of possible agitators. With this the internet will be aided to combat criminality with more means and after some rumors of terrorism and more, the government decided to arrest potential troublemakers to be interviewed upon their plans. Till now there was one suspect who recognized his activity was around planning to plant bomb into the People's Assembly. The National Security Act contains sections about government seizing from the hand of the dirty capitalist pigs the media, for far too long the workers were told lies by the media in order to ensure that the lower classes continue to accept the masters that deliberately oppressed them and kept em down from growing. This cannot happen anymore in a communist revolutionary state that wants freedom from oppression. With this all media outlets will be under workers' control and be publishing real news that reflect the cruel reality of our daily lives and not the slanderous lies of the oppressors that once ruled with blood and fear over the people.
