Protests against banning of surnames throughout Malivia
Pradhanmantri Ayush' recent statements about banning of surnames have lead to widespread protests throughout the nation. Thousands of protestors gathered in the street this morning and then burned government vehicles, blocked highways causing long traffic jams and even violent clashes with police were seen at some places. The protestors mainly belong to two groups, orthodox upper caste gerajans who are protesting that their heritage is being taken away by the Government. While shockingly even the lower caste Gerajans are protesting with them saying that the removal of surnames means removal of reservations in jobs and educational institutions for them.
On the other hand, this move has gained support from liberal upper caste, general category students who feel end of reservation will mean equal opportunity for them, Gerajan social reformers who support the cause saying end of casteism should be our main motive and from the minority communities of the nation.
Father Heinrich of Confessional Ameliorate Church of Dundorf said "God had created all men equal and we must strive to achieve God's will. The PM's decision is a huge step for Malivians towards that."
Also Akali priest Jaspal Singh ji of Kajpur gurudwara said "Our gurus had always preached to treat every human as rabb's child and it's not the rabb but the humans who created divisions. I even say that all Akali too should only use Singh and Kaur as surnames and discard all other that brings casteism into akali faith."
There has been no statements issued by the Government yet.

Esinsundu separatist movement ends as Malivian Patois becomes an official language
There were celebrations around Esinsundu community as their long pending demand of reinstatement of their language as official language finally got completed.
In 4531, Raktavani National Party government of Avibhajya Maliviya Samrajya era had removed Malivian Patois from its position of official language and placed it in other languages list. The Esinsundu community has since been constantly demanding recognition of their language as official. In recent years, the movement was getting radical and separatist sentiments among the Esinsundu community was rising. Finally the demand of Esinsundu has been completed by Union government and the separatist movement has ended. Union Minister of Minorities Jaya said,
Krantikari Dal believes that Malivia belongs equally to all communities of our nation and thus it becomes the responsibility of Union Government to make sure every community feels properly recognised and represented in Malivia. The Suresh Committee Report on Linguistic Survey 5010 states that 21% of Malivians speak Malivian Patois while Luthori speakers form a meagre 3%. So on that basis, it was decided that the Esinsundu community's demand was justified and thus on the eve of 480th anniversary of removal of Malivian Patois in 5011, Krantikari Dal reinstated Malivian Patois back to its original status of official language of Malivia. Further we have also allowed Raajya Governments to choose their own official language alongside one of the two official languages of Union to give representation to its linguistic communities.
We will soon release a new policy on step by step removal of Luthori and implementation of Malivian Patois in Public Sector, Education sector and Official services in a manner so that these changes take place without affecting the regular operations of these sectors.

The government moves proposal to abolish surnames in Geraja
Pradhanmantri Ayush has once again started the drafting of a bill ending surnames in Geraja. This also means positive discrimination for lower castes will go away as casteism in itself will become illegal, thus no one can be identified as lower caste. The policies for lower castes will be shifted to poor people upliftment according to some sources. Last time it was proposed, government was pushed on backfoot by huge protests. It remains to be seen what happens this time as Ayush wants to get it done before he leaves his post as Pradhanmantri.

An economic alliance with Rutania
Malivia and Rutania sign an economic alliance to promote trade and remove some unnecessary paperworks and reduce tarrifs. This will ensure smooth business between the two nations and speedy resolution of trade and MNC conflicts. There was also a deal of investment by Rutania in Malivian start-up companies in return for ease in regulations of equatorial raw material export to Rutania.

Recognise Wangla
On 15 December, citizens took to the streets demanding recognition of Wangla (In Real life - Bengali) language. People of the Verana state usually speak Wangla along with Washebarian. However, the previous Government only recognized three languages and overlooked most of the regional languages. Anthropologist Antiere Hall noted that there are more than 200 languages spoken all over the country. The Government is yet to make a comment on the issue. Meanwhile, protesters gathered in the University Square from all over the Verana as protests go on.

Malivia to lease Czar Dusan Base to Deltaria

Malivia has agreed to lease Czar Dusan Base in the South of Malivia to Deltarian Government. Under the agreement, Deltaria will pay an annual sum of 1 billion to Malivia and open an Institute of Maliviyan Studies in Deltaria for a 100-year lease. As part of the deal, Deltaria shall be required to sign a mutual defense treaty with Mailivia and shall promise to notify Malivia before interacting with any neighbor of Malivia. The significant move shall greatly strengthen Malivia's hold over the continent while providing new links to the Majatran continent. A newspaper report published in Deltaria noted -
...a total of 6 frigates and a classified number of nuclear attack submarines will be permanently stationed at the base, with a refueling and repair facility also being built which will allow other fleets to temporarily dock, repair, and refuel at the base. Furthermore, two fighter squadrons, consisting of the R-35 and several R-34B jets, will also be permanently stationed at the medium-sized airbase to be constructed for the base. In total at least 3.000 military personnel will permanently station at the base, excluding the crews of the ships stationed there

Upon reaching the Foreign Minister of Malivia, M K Khanna said -
Deltaria and Malivia are historical allies and shall remain friends forever. Deltaria's commitment towards protecting Majatran Sea and both the continents of Artania and Majatra is
commendable. Defensively it would greatly enhance Malivia's position in Artania.

The Maliviyan Review

March, 5080

MJD sweeps poll, NPP ABOLISHED

Owing to the large protest on the streets of Kubir, the NPP-headed Government was compelled to issue an early election. The Result showed clear discontent against the NPP-led government. The NPP Chairman on Thursday announced formal abolition of NPP after several of its member revolted against the party publicly. After a sweeping Victory, Pradhanmantri
C Acharya took oath as the Prime Minister for the second time. Meanwhile, Malivia gets a new President as Matualal Bohuguna defeated NPP's Mohan Batra, bagging 99% of the vote share.
Maliviyan Janata Dal won all the 543 seats in the Janata Sabha and formed the Cabinet. Speaking to the Journalists Pradhanmantri C Acharya said that their first priority would be to
establish Kubir as a separate National Capital Region. This shall be meant a complete makeover of the city.

Deltaria Strikes Solentia, Malivia to remain Neutral ?
The Deltarian Government launched an offensive on West Solentia as the Situation heats up, Recently, MA and MSO expelled Solentia as the new military regime assassinated the Prime Minister
to take charge. The Maliviyan Foreign Minister remarked "We consider the Solentia issue largely an internal matter and shall refrain from making further comments. However, being a
member of the MSO, we are closely monitoring the issue and shall speak to the Deltarian Government and MSO regarding the recent development."
