Numbers explode

The government recently published economic figures and a prognosis for the coming years, it seems like the Valruzian economy will finally make a step towards modernisation.
Gouverneur von Thaller stated that his plans are finally paying off, the economic alliance of valruzia, an international trade agreement also contributed a great deal towards the economic revitalization.

The arms-industry as well as other industries from the manufacturing branch are booming.

Leopold declares first years to be a success

The young Gouverneur of Valruzia, ethnic Narikatonian Leopold von Thaller recently stated in the territorial assembly that his first years as the head of government were shaped by success in every possible way. Economicly spoken the country is seeing a historical height, apart from that the population seems rather indifferent about the Thallerists. Many patriotic citizens do not want so called narikatonian overlords, in fact even from government government critic is audible. Konstantin III von Mader, Minister of Internal Affairs responded to the statement of the gouverneur with a warning. "We should not let our guard down, other countries face an economic crisis, for example Jelbania. It is by all means necessary to keep an eye on the gathering storm!"

We are no Fascists!

Recently the Thallerist government had to face criticism because of their name, even though they successfully rejuvenated the economy of Valruzia, many think that the name Thallerist Unity Party is too heavily influenced by the Narikatonian party, which in fact is officially fascist. Leopold von Thaller, which took over the lead of the former neo-capitalist wing of the TE in Narikaton stated that they left because of the fact that the majority of the party was rather conservative on basicly every social issue. The Kanzler der Krone stated that he would reform his party and re-appoint some major offices.

Ministers like Tillemann von Papen, which openly stated that the Valruzian population is scum, as well as Xavier Fasces who greets people with a (mostly friendly though) "Heil Thaller" will have to seek a new job.

Government encourages NAFBUM contracts

Since the Personal Union between Valruzia and Narikaton was formed the economic cooperation between these nations have greatly improved the situation of Valruzia in terms of economics and military. Now the NEO-Union is giving away cheap contracts to the narikatonian construction-concern of NAFBUM to achieve the survival of the corporation and to further expand civil industry buildups as well as the construction of military factories.

President of Valruzia, Jerzy Krauze, issued an official statement earlier this day in which he called for a comprehensive reform of the Valruzian economy which will bring prosperity and wealth to the Valruzian People. Krauze announced the establishment of Standing Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers which will draft, implement and supervise reforms which will rejuvenate the Valruzian economy and make it more competitive.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Fellow Valruzians,

In recent years our country underwent major, comprehensive and structural changes which brought our country to its people - Valruzia. Valruzians as the true sovereign of the Republic have the ultimate right to enjoy freedom, wealth, and prosperity. Our politicians, beyond the political divisions, have always been trying to bring that necessary component of a prosperous existence to the people. Establishment of the Republic and securing our great culture was an important step towards the true independence of our People.

But that should and cannot be the end of our journey. There is still a lot of hard work to be done. Hard work which requires dedication, commitments and even sacrifices for the greater good - Valruzia. The next step in our journey is the economy, which requires comprehensive changes and reforms. Our economy should reflect the actual potential of our people. People who are free, entrepreneurial, innovative and last but not least proud. Our economy, as our People, deserves what's best.

Therefore I have, in accordance with the President of the Council of Ministers, decided to form Standind Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers (Stały Komitet Ekonomiczny Rady Ministrów) which will be responsible for drafting and implementation of new ideas, solutions which will make our economy strong, stable and inclusive. Inclusiveness will be an important trait of our economy, as it is gravely important to remember about everyone. I will supervise the undertakings of the Standing Committee and if anything will raise my doubts I will inform the Prime Minister who will be officially responsible to improve the work of the committee. The committee shall consist of Minister of Finance, Infrastructure and Transport, Science and Technology and Trade and Industry as permanent members of the committee.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the following years will not be easy. The journey we begin today will require devotion and commitment and as I said earlier, even sacrifices. Our economy needs its own "Wirtschaftswunder". Let make our country great!

In a statement for ITV News Minister of Finance, Rafał Gersdorf in Jakub Neumann's Cabinet commented the failure of VAT bill and plans of the government for the future of the Valruzian economy. Gersdorf presented further details on Standing Economic Committee (Stały Komitet Ekonomiczny) called to life by the President and about its first decision to establish National Economic Fund (Narodwy Fundusz Ekonomiczny) which will be responsible for funding and implementation of new ideas and solution in the economy.

Our plan for the economy is simple. Innovativeness, advancement, and inclusiveness. Thore traits are indispensable for us and will be taken to account in every aspect of our actions and ideas. Our own ''Wirtschaftswunder'' as President Krauze called it, requires enormous and extensive financial efforts which require everyone to be part of. Politicians, Entrepreneurs, and ordinary People. We all have to work hard to make our economy productive and advanced. Bill on corporate tax, income tax and VAT were part of fulfilling this financial effort. Unfortunately not every bill passed trough the Sejm. We were hoping for all three bills to pass, but we will manage with what we have. The funding of newly established National Economic Fund is already secured. It will recivie an initial 99 billion Peso for its operations. One of the first things the NEF will be supervising is the increase of oil and natural gas extraction in Valruzia. We want to increase the overall extraction of both of this resources by repsectively 15 and 10% in th next 5-10 years. This of course will require close cooperation of the NEF with the WKN Volantis which is the controler of all major oil depostits of oil and natural gas. What is important is that the government is planning to establish a separate agency/company solely resposnible for the issues of natural gas. We didn't work out the structure so it may be a subsidiary of the Volantis or an entirely separate company. This will be decided on in the near future.

Last but not least, the government will encourage international investors to invest in the NEF in exchange for the profit and part of its shares. We've set the limit to 45% of overall management while the rest 55% will always remain under the control of State Treasury and will be protected. First countries we want to encourage is Istalia, Hutori, and Luthori.

Standing Economic Committee: WKN Volantis will receive 32 billion Peso for operational expansion.

Standing Economic Committee (SEC) of the Council of Ministers has announced that the first company to be invested in by the government will be the oil mogul WKN Volantis. Minister Gersdorf announced that in total 32 billion Peso will be given to Volantis to increase the oil extraction and infrastructure development. Currently, Volantis extracts 13,5 million oil barrels daily, the government wants to increase that number by 15% in the next 10 years. This measure, according to SEC, will allow for lower petroleum prices which will in long term benefit the citizens of Valruzia and make the oil from Valruzian reservoirs much more favorable in terms of international trade of this resource. The valruzian government announced that it will seek new potential buyers and investors.

The governmental subsidy will also allow for the creation of about 3-5 thousands of new jobs in various sectors. People will be able to find jobs in construction as it is believed that part of the 32 billion Peso will be spent on the expansion of existing as well as building new refineries in Valruzia. Volantis also plans to fund research in order to find and explore oil reservoirs beneath the sea bed. It would be the first time any entity will try to find oil in the Valruzian Basin.

WKN Volantis' Geological Survey: Large deposits of oil discovered in the Valruzian Basin.

Marcin Rawecki, director of the department of Geological Survey of WKN Volantis, announced earlier this day, that a large deposit of crude oil has been discovered in Valruzian Basin, approximately 320 nautical miles west from Kninsk. Rawecki said that Wigor shale, as the new discovery has been named, contains at least 20 billion barrels of oil. Volantis' Geological Survey announced that it will continue exploration of the Valruzian Basin to find more oil deposits.

Rawecki announced that the WKN Volantis started a close cooperation with an Istalian company from the oil indstry - ENIST, and that it would provide Volantis with equippment necessary to start extraction of oil from the newly discovered reservoirs. Central Government recently boosted Volantis with 32 billion Peso trough especially established National Economic Fund. That combined with recent triplication of Valruzian Trade and Industry budget (60 billion instead of 20) gives WKN a lot of possibilities.

It is projected that the construction of the first oil platform on Wigor shale will begin as soon as November this year. In total Volantis intends to construct 4 platforms on the area with newly discovered oil reservoirs.

Volantis increased its daily oil extraction by 100 thousands barrels since the financial boost was provided from the national government.

Nowogard, woj.Walruzyjskie - Today in Nowogard the Socialdemocracy of Valruzia held a national convention where they elected their new leader. They choose the current Minister of Trade and Industry Urszula Chmiel, the first female leader of the party. In her inagural adress she promised that the party will be second to none in fighting for progressive values. Sources claim that Mrs. Chmiel wants to rebrand the party, but for now there aren't any specifics. It also seems that Minister Chmiel doesn't seem fond of the UDR, criticising Prime Minister Neumann for his recent statements during the debate on the Withdrawal of Security Council Nominations, calling for him to resign and apologize for the statement he has made. Numerous news sources pointed out that the new SDW leader did not mention a replacement for Minister Szczepański who expressed his interest in retiring.

Government releases Economic Strategy for achieving sustainable economic growth

Council of Minister in a special joint release presented an overview of future policies of the government which will be aimed at the economic growth of Valruzia and will serve as guidelines for the government. Prime Minister confirmed that the strategy was established during a classified session of Cabinet Council with the President Drobnerska. PM Lisicki confirmed that the overall goals included in the strategy are open for modification and that the strategy will be constantly updated in cooperation with the President.

Below is the original text of the strategy:

1. Innovative Industrialization - establishment of new and modernization of already existing industrial entities with the aim to enhance their competitive abilities in order create a world-renowned national brand for the Republic of Valruzia. The industrialization will be mainly focused on crucial sectors of the industry and will include the geographic diversity and characteristics of the industrial sector. Those crucial sectors are energy production, shipbuilding and oil and natural gas, aerospace and automotive. A big factor in the Innovative Industrialization will be assigned to National Economic Fund established in 4261, as the national investment agency it will issue subsidies for start-ups and for existing entities of both public and the private sector.

2. International economic cooperation with foreign partners, especially closest allies: Baltusia, Istalian Republic, and the State of Intrala in terms of economic exchange. Economic exchange on just and mutually beneficial terms which will bring Valruzia and its closest allies closer together in both economic and social dimension. It is possible that Valruzia will create a numerous Special Economic Sectors on its territories to attract foreign companies.

3. Creation of friendly conditions for both private and public entities in terms of business and economic activity which will attract entrepreneurs. Providing them with small corporate tax rate and tax reliefs, as the first years of economic activity can affect the future fate of the specific entity. Therefore the Council of Ministers of Valruzia shall undertake all necessary actions to create good conditions for investments. Once again an important role will be assigned to National Economic Fund which is an agency responsible for the promotion of Valruzia as a good place for investment and economic activity.

4. Creation and maintenance of good public institutions, which is of great importance for Valruzia's economic growth. Maintaining good and fair institutions shall eliminate the risk of corruption which is a great threat to the nation's economic growth and can practically prevent a stable and first and foremost sustainable growth. Therefore good institutions shall include a specific institution aimed at monitoring and elimination of corruption.

5. Gradual elimination of bureaucracy and creation of trust of the society towards the public institutions. The trust which can only be achieved by establishing institutions which will base on clear and relatively simple laws.

6. Modernization and development of Armed Forces of Valruzia trough international cooperation with nation's closest allies and through cooperation between Valruzian Armaments Group with foreign entities and exchange of information.
