NATIONAL FORCES OF DEFENSE TO STAGE HUGE MILITARY EXERCISE IN KAMPANIA, VALUSIAN, AND GRYFIT VOIVODESHIPS

NOWOGARD - Ministry of National Defense of Valruzia announced that the National Forces of Defense of the Republic of Valruzia will stage a series of military exercises throughout Valruzia. The entire series of drills and simulations official name is "Occident Defense 4340" and will involve three branches of the NSO: Land Forces, Defense Navy and Air Defense Forces. In total around 25 thousand Valruzian soldiers, 55 naval vessels and 155 planes will take part in the process. "Occident Defense" will be the first drill of the NSO covering such great area and simulations of an attack on the territory of the Republic of Valruzia. According to sources from the Ministry of National Defense, the entire cost of the exercise will be around 450 million Valruzian pesos and will last 12 days. During these 12 days, soldiers from the NSO will, for the first time, have a chance to test the new equipment of Valruzian military. Two aircraft carriers and five submarines from the "Orca" Programme will for the first time used in operation by the Valruzian Navy. Air Defense Forces will have a chance to test new planes stationed on ORW Waluzja and ORW Ruzja. The entire goal of the "Occident Defense 4340" will be to test the capability of the NSO in case of an attack on the territory of the Republic of Valruzia. Analysts say that this is a deliberate show of power from Nowogard. Some of them highlight that for decades the government in Nowogard has been refusing to hold such extensive exercise and that the recent threats from Aldegar and Saridan have forced the Government of Valruzia to pay more attention to the issues of national defense.

NOWOGARD - Valruzian Council of Ministers announced, earlier today, that as much as it respects the provisions of the Treaty of Ghacrow ending the war between Narikaton and Malivia, Valruzia will willingly remain actively involved in the process of reconstruction of the Malivian Military, as Valruzia continuously reaffirms that Malivia remains its closest ally on the Artanian Continent. Nowogard highlighted the fact that the growing defense industry in Valruzia and Malivian military can benefit from possible cooperation and that Valruzian banks will gladly initiate cooperation between Malivian businesses to bring back the economy of Malivia to its pre-war might. Valruzian Government publically encouraged the Government of Malivia to dismiss the Treaty's provision of demilitarisation and that Dorvik and Luthori has no right to expect such move from one of the most powerful States in Terra. Nowogard expressed its dissatisfaction with the "imperialistic aspirations" of the Northern Council and that there is a need to create a counterweight for the "dangerous and damaging military cartel".

Valruzia in recent years has been the only Seleyan State to actually increase its spending and conduct a series of modernizations and expansions within its National Defense Forces. With military spendings at 107 billion Valruzian Pesos (16.3 billion LOD) the Republic of Valruzia is currently the state with the highest military spending in Seleya with approximately 6% of the Valruizan GDP being spent on the national defense. Thanks to comprehensive programmes like "Orca", "Rhino" or "Eagle" the National Forces of Defense became one of the best equipped and best trained armed forces on the Seleyan Continent. Increased military spending and modernization of the military is part of the overall development strategy of Nowogard which for decades now has successfully improved the economy of Valruzia making it 5th economy in Seleya and promoted it as a good place for investments. Relatively low costs of production and costs connected with labor are what the government put the most pressure on during recent decades of economic growth. Relatively large natural resource base allows Valruzia to be one of Terra's automotive and petroleum leading markets. Nowogard has visibly negated the international status quo and is willing to change it so that countries other than Dorvik, Hutori or Kazulia which despite the fact that maintaining the leading role as military powers have one main drawback which Valruzia is aiming at. Both Dorvik and Hutori's market are close to being saturated which from Nowogard's point of view is the perfect opportunity to use as a growth factor.

With the Free State of Malivia trying to regain its position in the sphere of military, this is the perfect opportunity for the Valruzian defense sector to initiate cooperation and sell Valruzian arms to Malivia. With the current laws, it is up to the Sejm whether arms will or will not be sold to Malivia, and it is up to the Valruzian Armaments Group to reach out to the Malivian authorities and propose such cooperation. Currently Valruzian Armaments Grop is working on export versions of all its armored vehicles and tanks. Nowogard will most likely give a green light for every deal with the Free State of Malivia as it is in the best interest of Valruzia to have a ally which is a effective counterweight for Dorvik and declining Luthori on the Artanian Continent.

MOND REVEALS DETAILS ABOUT FURTHER DEALS WITH THE VALRUZIAN ARMAMENTS GROUP FOR ARMOURED VEHICLES

NOWOGARD - Ministry of National Defense has just announced further deals between MOND and the Valruzian Armaments Group which will be supplementary to the "Rhino" Programme. This time Ministry is willing to buy over 1.400 vehicles from the WGZ. Ministry of National Defense is particularly interested in expanding its fleet of two platforms of armored vehicles the Land Forces of Valruzia use right now. Currently, Land Forces of Valruzia use Valruzian Arms Company's Wisent platform in three different configurations and two generations of North Valruzian Works' Warthog platform in two configurations.


VAC Wisent Type A - 200 ordered.

MOND is willing to purchase 200 additional VAC Wisents Type A (Command Vehicle) capable of transporting 8 fully equipped soldiers and aimed with operating within the battlefield, carrying out surveillance operations and serve as a battlefield command unit. The vehicle, like two other variants, will be equipped with BFS's 5.0 V8 engine developing 500 BHP as the gross vehicle weight of the Wisent Type A is 14 tonnes (14.000 kg). In the standard Type A configuration, the Wisent is capable of reaching speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour. Currently, the NSO uses 190 Type A's, after the deal, the number will grow to 390 units. The Platform, despite its launch in 4229, is constantly updated to meet the NSO's requirements and enjoys high popularity within the Land Forces' soldiers.


VAC Wisent Type B - 115 ordered.

Ministry of National Defense decided to also expand its fleet of Wisent Type B, equipped with 4 short-range anti-aircraft missiles. In this configuration, the vehicle is capable of transporting two fully equipped soldier and in addition to that Type B is capable to tow a 2 tonnes trailer. The engine is the same unit as in Type A and C, BFS's 5.0 V8. Currently, the Land Forces use 80 Type Bs. MON ordered 115 new units for the Land Forces.


VAC Wisent Type C - 100 ordered.

The third and last version of the Wisent, currently in production, is the Type C - an air surveillance version. Equipped with a powerful radar manufactured by Brzansk Arms, also a contractor affiliated with the Valruzian Armaments Group is capable of covering an area with a radius of 90 kilometers. Wisent Type C provides support for military aircrafts and serves as a support for SIGINT planes and electronic warfare jet fighters. Currently, the National Forces of Defense use 48 vehicles of this type. Ministry of National Defense placed an order for 100 additional to be incorporated to the Land Forces of Valruzia.


NVW Worthog MMV - 220 ordered.

Warthog is the second platform currently used by the National Forces of Defense and is aimed to serve as North Valruzian Works' cheaper and easy to maintain alternative for the Valruzian Arms Company's Wisent Type A. Currently the Land Forces of Valruzia use two types of Warthog: Warthog MMV (for Modular Multipurpose Vehicle). Warthog MMV is capable of transporting 5 fully equipped soldiers. Can be fitted with a machine gun or dependant on requirements: smoke grenades launcher or reinforced suspension to increase its all-terrain capability. Land Forces use 400 vehicles of this type, and MOND plans to purchase 220 more to be incorporated to the LF over the upcoming 2 years.


NVW Worthog MMVII - 45 ordered.

Warthog MMVII serves as a development version of the MMV. It has reinforced suspension, modernized steering wheel and greatly increased ground clearance. MMVII is also able to carry 8 instead of 5 fully equipped soldiers. One of this platform's advantages over the Wisent platform is the operational speed of units, with a maximum speed of 140 kilometers per hour it is one of the fastest ground vehicles used by the Land Forces of Valruzia. Currently, the Land Forces use 15 units of this type. Ministry of National Defense placed an order for 45 new units of this type.


NVW Worthog 2 MMV - 70 ordered.

Ever growing need of the military for armored vehicles have encouraged the North Valruzian Works to develop the second generation of what seems to be its most successful construction which was the MMV and MMVII. In 4339 the NVW unveiled its new vehicle named Warthog 2 MMV to signalize the continuity and relation with the previous model. The second generation is visibly larger than the previous one, and much simplified in order to reduce the operational costs. According to North Valruzian Works, an investment of 2.5 billion was made in order to develop the vehicle and maximalize its utility in and outside the battlefield. Ministry of National Defense ordered 70 Warthogs 2 which will expand the large fleet of armored vehicles of the Land Forces of Valruzia.

NOWOGARD - Valruzian Sejm passed a new version of budgetary appropriations act. Sejm with the overwhelming majority of 362 votes for the proposal and 103 abstaining passed the new budget which, after gaining legal force, will introduce further expansions in foreign affairs, national defense, health & social services, education & culture, and trade & industry. Members of the Sejm backed Prime Minister Lisowska's call for stronger armed forces and supported her efforts for stronger Seleyan Union.

President of the Council of Minister Hanna Lisowska in a fierce speech before the Sejm defended the proposal and called other parties to support government's efforts to establish a strong position for Valruzia on the international scene. Lisowska claimed that the government of Valruzia should do everything it can to make Seleyan Union a true global powerhouse both in military and economic way.

The Liberal Faction of the Party of National Coalition believes that this proposal is the best exemplification of our Country's needs at the moment. With tensions around Terra and States being torn apart by political and social instabilities it is at our best interest to equip the State with means allowing for effective protection and means which will allow for further economic and social growth. It is in Valruzia's best interest to modernize and expand its military, as our partners from the Seleyan Union and North Seleyan Economic Community seem to forget about the importance of defense. We must take our faith into our own hands. It is in Valruzia's best interest to maintain a powerful, strong, best-equipped army. A little over a decade ago our government started a series of comprehensive reforms in the National Forces of Defense and now we can be proud of one of the best equipped, most professional, and best-financed armed forces on the Seleyan Continent and one of the best-financed militaries in Terra. It is in our country's best interest to continue this endeavor to make Valruzia a strong a stable country on the international scene, and a fully integrated member of the international community. We shall continue our efforts to strengthen the ties between Seleyan states via institutions like the Seleyan Union, North Seleyan Economic Community and the Council of Seleya, as we believe and will continue to believe in the great spirit of Seleyan cooperation and we see the great dormant potential in Seleya, not present in any other place on Terra. Potential which if mindfully dealt with can make Seleya the Terra's biggest powerhouse and a place of almost unlimited economic possibilities. Valruzia was, is and always be advocating for stronger Seleyan Integration and will always respect the multicultural diverse characteristics of the continent, as it is exactly what creates this potential. That's why we ask the Sejm for support for this proposal which will secure our interest and is aimed at securing the interest of the Seleyan Continent as a whole.

Further increases in spendings for the national budget, which now in total with subsidies from the National Economic Fund are 115 billion Valruzian Pesos, highlight that Nowogard isn't backing down from its efforts to modernize the Valruzian military. With "Orca" and "Rhino" Programme almost finished, legislators in Nowogard are waiting for the "Eagle" Programme with which the Ministry of National Defense will modernize the Air Defense Forces of Valruzia. With increased spendings for the national defense, it is most likely that Valruzian air force will see one of the largest overhauls in its history. It is believed that MOND will pay most attention to finding an appropriate plane to serve on country's two aircraft carriers as now the Air Defense Forces and Defense Navy use two models. Istalian AF-43 and Valruzian M24 "Lynx" from Valruzian Aviation Works (WZL). WZL confirmed that it is working on two designated carrier-based aircrafts.

NOWOGARD - Valruzian Minister of National Defense Urszula von Ostdreieck informed that Armed Forces Command Centre of the Ministry of National Defense, responsible for defense systems of the Republic of Valruzia, has agreed to give a green light for the development of anti-ballistic missile system (SLRABMS (for: Short & Long Rande Anti-Ballistic Missile System; Valruzian Name: System Ochrony Przeciwrakietowej SOP) which will enter service within the next three years. MOND has already begun talks with the Valruzian Armaments Group on the specifications which the future system will be required to have. Minister von Ostsreieck said that the whole project will consume approximately 5 billion Valruzian Pesos. According to the sources from MOND, the defense department will seek the construction of sixteen short and long-range anti-ballistic missile system facilities throughout Valruzia. MOND as usually reached in the first place reached out to its domestic supplier and producer Varluzian Armaments Group. If the plans of the Ministry will succeed, Valruzia will be one of the first in Seleya to be equipped with anti-ballistic missile systems covering more than 90% of its territory.

The whole project will be under the permanent supervision of the Ministry of National Defense and will include cooperation between most of the business entities affiliated with the Valruzian Armaments Group. MOND is willing to invest in the development of two types of the SOP, short and long range systems. It is believed that four major components of the Valruzian Armaments Group will take the leading role in the development of this system. Valruzian Aviation Works, Brzansk Arms, Valruzian Arms Company and North Valruzian Works - these are the four companies MOND is counting on the most. According to the Group, this endeavor will be conducted in three stages. The first stage will include the development of appropriate missiles which can be used in the system. This task will go to Valruzian Aviation Works. WZL will be responsible for the development of two types of missiles, one capable of traveling up to 800 kilometers at speed exceeding Mach 3. WZL will also be responsible, in cooperation with North Valruzian Works for development of a new system of radars and early warning system to be fitted as part of the overall system. The last stage will be to develop a facility to host the system as MOND wants the facilities to be stationary.

SZWARZENTEL INVESTMENTS GROUP ENTERS PREMIUM CAR SECTOR WITH A DESIGNATED BRAND FSM

BRZANSK - Szwarzentel Investments Group has announced the launch of their second car brand - FSM Automotives. According to Szwarzentel FSM named after three designers who worked on the brand's initial model range Jan Folkowicz, Roman Stechnycz, Jacek Malek is aimed to compete with premium brands such as Valruzian Bonning, Dorvish DAS or Istalian Spada. According to the Valruzian Economist, it is a sign that Brzansk-based investor has for good enrooted itself within the automotive industry. It is also a sign of good economic situation in the automotive sector as this is twelfth consecutive year of stable and firm growth. Szwarzentel has just invested over 1 billion pesos in Brzansk-Lesko Special Economic Zone and began recruitment of new workers. The factory is expected to start operations in September this year, as Szwarzentel is known for its rapid expansion policies. As for now, Investments Group from Brzansk is planning to establish two automated factories in which three vehicles will be manufactured. It is believed that at least 10.000 new jobs will be established as the result of the creation of SI's new subsidiary.

FSM Automotives will enter the market with a single model offered in three different versions. The company will try to compete with Bonning in the sector of cheaper premium cars and with its Valonez company's leadership point out that they want to make it part of the broader international brand of Valruzia. FSM Valonez will be offered as a full-size sedan, practical shooting brake, and coupe. All three vehicles will be manufactured entirely in FSM's factories and unlike its sister company BFS, it won't use parts bought under the license from Bonning. It is believed that BFS will in the near future also resign from parts bought from Bonning and will switch to FSM's as it would greatly reduce the costs. Szwarzentel Investments is willing to put up to 15 billion in the initial operation of the company and hopes that the money invested will be enough to make its subsidiary solvent. Both factories are expected to be fully automated and prepared for mass production of vehicles. FSM's cars are expected to have a much smaller range of available engines than Bonning. The standard unit offered by FSM will be the petrol-powered turbocharged 2.0 TCI producing 170 BHP and 3.0 V6 producing 300 BHP. Company's management did not confirm whether the company will offer diesel versions of their vehicles.

MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE CONFIRMS SUCCESSFUL TEST OF THE NEW ANTI-BALLISTIC MISSILE SYSTEM

NOWOGARD - Ministry of National Defense confirmed that the National Forces of Defense successfully carried its first-ever test of the anti-ballistic missile system test. Test conducted and supervised by MOND has proven reliability and functionality of missile developed by Valruzian Aviation Works in cooperation with North Valruzian Works in a little over 7 months, and a brand new state of the art radar developed also by Valruizan Aviation Works in cooperation with Brzansk Arms. According to MOND the success of the test is a first important milestone in the process of establishing a truly reliable anti-ballistic missile system for Valruzia. MOND has just recently forced another major expansion of military spendings through Sejm. The new budget for the national defense set at 125 billion Valruzian pesos solidified Valruzia's position as the leader in military spendings in Seleya.

The test took place at a specially prepared National Forces of Defense facility in Gryfit Voivodeship, 90 kilometers south of the voivodeship's capital Gryfitów. This is where the first unit of the anti-ballistic missile system, just recently named Phoenix, will be installed. The goal of the test was to check the operation of the radar and the time of the response of the missile system. A missile was launched from ORW Grom stationed on Valruzian Exclusive Economic Zone 550 kilometers west of Gryfitów and was aimed at Defense Navy's decoy buoy 10 kilometers offshore. The system successfully detected the missile as soon as it reached the altitude of 5 kilometers and send an information to an officer responsible for evaluation of danger and further decisions, within 60 seconds a missile was launched from the facility and within the next 5 minutes successfully intercepted the "hostile" missile and destroyed it before it descended below the 3 kilometer level.

This is a very enjoyable moment seeing that the hard work of Valruzan scientists and the whole defense industry paid off. I congratulate the whole Valruzian Armaments Group and the National Forces of Defense, as this is a great success for the whole industry and a great step towards more safe Valruzia. I know that there is a lot of work ahead of Valruzian Armaments Group and National Forces of Defense and that there is a lot more to do, but with this tremendous success, we are closer to a truly excellent system. I once again congratulate everyone who took part in the development of the system and the preparation of this test.

It is belived that now the defense holding and the National Forces of Defense will proceed with works on the system and the possible production. According to MOND, the recent budgetary expansion allowed for additional 3 billion pesos to be invested in the project for the development process. Next tests are planned to take place in June, July and August. MOND has not informed whether the system will be offered to Valruzia's allies and neighbors.

NATIONAL BANK OF VALRUZIA TO PURCHASE 10 BILLION VPO WORTH OF GOVERNMETAL BONDS IN MALIVIA

NOWOGARD - President of the National Bank of Valruzia (NBW) Tomasz Rustałowicz announced today that the National Bank of Valruzia will reach out to its counterpart in the Free State of Malivia and will offer a purchase of 10 billion VPO (3.5 billion MCR) worth of long-term bonds issued by the central bank of Malvia in order to reduce Valruzia's reserves of Malvivian Crowns. According to Rustałowicz this move will allow keeping the exchange rates between Crown and Peso at a desirable level and is a perfect investment for the National Bank of Valruzia which has just recently begun operation outside Valruzia. National Bank of Valruzia believes that recovering economy of Malivia is a perfect place to invest as the post-war needs of the country are capital-intensive, something which the NBW can provide, and a stable economic growth will provide multiplied profit for the investors. President of the NBW said that from the point of view of the Valruzian economy such an investment will be beneficial as it will allow keeping the Peso competitive. According to analysts from the Valruzian Economist, move the National Bank of Valruzia will also convince private entities to invest in Malivia, as NBW's investment clearly indicates that the overall position of the Free State of Malivia as a potential investments allocation place is still high.

BONNING CAR FACTORY AND WALATOM INTERESTED IN INVESTING IN MALIVIA

Immediately after the announcement of the President of the National Bank of Valruzia, two major players from the Valruzuan market immediately expressed their interest in broadening their activity to Malivia. First of them was the Hel-based Bonning Car Factory which announced that it will closely monitor the economic situation and trends on the Malivian market of automobiles and evaluate whether an investment in Malivia would be a beneficial undertaking. Bonning, known for its caution when it comes to foreign investments, visibly changed its stance and according to sources from the company, an initial investment of 1.5 billion Pesos is possible. The second company to express interest in investing in Malivia was the Valruzian nuclear giant Walatom. Company controlling all nuclear power plants in Valruzia announced that it will support Malivian efforts in research of new liquid fluoride thorium reactor (LFTR). Walatom announced that after consultation with its Malivian counterparts it will initiate an investment of 10 billion Pesos to help in the research. Management of Walatom also announced that it considers construction of a nuclear power plant in Malivia using its own state of the art VHTR rector.

MOND: VALRUZIAN ARMAMENTS GROUP BEGAN INSTALLATION OF THE PHOENIX ANTI-BALLISTIC MISSILE SYSTEM

NOWOGARD - Ministry of National Defense informed, earlier today, that the Valruzian Armaments Group began the assembly and installation of Phoenix anti-ballistic missile system across Valruzia. With the successful tests carried out earlier this year and additional funds injected into the project, National Forces of Defense and the defense holding could speed up the work on the defense system and informed that Phoenix is ready to be installed in 16 different facilities across Valruzia. The first has been already installed near Gryfitów where the initial tests took place. MOND informed that the total cost of the project will be closed at 12 billion Pesos. Phoenix will be operated by the Air Defense Forces of Valruzia. Ministry of National Defense informed that the system will be presented to Valruzia's allies and will be possibly subject to international trade. The Valruzian Economist points out that the Free State of Malivia could be among the first countries Valruzia will offer the sale of Phoenix system to. Although the official price of the system is classified, the Valruzian Economist predicts that the Ministry of National Defense will set the obligatory minimum price at 25 billion pesos for a system.

NOWOGARD - In a brief statement, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Valruzia Hanna Grotkowska responded to her Dorvish counterpart's allegations of Valruzia supposedly controlling Dundorf's political decisions with respect to the Dosmund's opposition for the Dorvish Trade Association and Economic Pact. Grotkowska called the claims made by Dorvish minister irrational and not supported by facts. Minister once again pointed out that Haldor seems to interpret facts and truths selectively and distort reality in order to put Dorvik in a bright light and discredit other sovereign countries. Grotkowska additionally criticized Dorvish Minister for neglecting the rising position of Valruzia which in recent decades not only became one of the largest economies in Seleya, but has in fact, surpassed the economy of Dorvik with Valruzian economy housing as much as 100 billion Pesos (~80 billion Dorvish Dolgars) more than economy of the alleged "one of the strongest economies in Artania and the world". Minister not only pointed out the overall nominal differences but also that Valruzian GDP per capita (18 924 VPO) is also higher than Dorvik's (15 029 DDO or 18 036 VPO after conversion). Head of Valruzian diplomacy finished her statement with a claim about the strange and fatal conviction of Haldor which tends to diminish the position of other states with nothing else than false and empty claims. Valruzian Minister for Foreign Affaris reassured that Valruzia willl not broaden its sanctions against Dorvik and will limit itself to support and respect the measures taken by Dundorf. Nowogard imposed two sets of sanctions against the Republic of Dorvik, now known as the Kingdom of Dorvik. In 4331 and 4332 the Sejm enacted personal and economic sanctions against Haldor. The international scene once again was forced to witness the imperialist and fatal practices of the Kingdom of Dorvik. Practices which are dangerous for the security and stability of international relations and pose a threat to the sovereignty and independence of Countries which are rightful members of the World Congress. The Government of Valruzia would like to point out that the conviction of a privileged position of Dorvik on the Continent of Artania or the International Scene as such is outdated, fatal and hostile against widely understood peace. The government in Haldor distorts facts and reality and accommodates then to serve its own interest. Practices and actions of Dorvik are characterized by negligence, lack of respect for widely respected international standards and simple irrationality. Numerous times the Government of Dorvik allowed itself to disdain the Republic of Valruzia as well as other countries such as the Free State of Malivia or the Istalian Republic. Claims about alleged Dorvish "superiority" are not supported by any facts and Haldor is neglecting all the facts that do not fit into its line of politics. It is an easily measurable fact that in recent years the economy of Valruzia has shown greater economic growth and surpassed the economy of Dorvik by a nominal value of nearly 100 billion Pesos. The Government of Dorvik seems to neglect, and that may turn out to be destructive for Dorvik itself, that Valruzian military became stronger and better funded. It is a clear and measurable fact, as Valruzia spends roughly 40% more on its national defense and armed forces than Dorvik. We define the practices of the Government in Haldor as fear of losing its position and being pushed out by stronger more powerful countries. But at the same time it is important for the Governmetn of Dorvik to understand that it is a process which started couple of decades ago and the conviction that Dorvik will keep its position on the international scene by neglecting and ignoring simple facts can be fatal and destructive for Haldor.
