The Neuhaus Times

September 4369
Chief of Government Alasan Singhateh, alarmed by the rising tensions in northern Dovani, has announced that Talmoria will accept refugees if conflict were to break out. The bill currently being debated by Parliament will grant temporary residencies, with the possibility of permanent residency, as well as aid to ethnic Hawu and Lourennian people who live in the border region between Kazulia and Dankuk. Singhateh refused to confirm, but also refused to deny, the presence of Talmorian personnel in the Imperial Esinsundu military contingent that left the the Sea of Vorona (colloquially the Gulf of Sebastian) after the conclusion of months long war games and drills for the northern Anatonese Sea. Singhateh chose to emphasize the humanitarian role Talmoria was prepared to play while also calling for Dankuk and Kazulia to come to the negotiating table.

October 4369
Chief of Government Alasan Singhateh receives Lourennian President Julienne Valoir-D'Orléans and Prime Minister Antoine Viellard in Neuhaus. Lourenne and Talmoria, although geographical neighbors, have not enjoyed the best of relations. However, Chief Singhateh hopes to start a new era of cooperation between the two nations. Chief Singhateh was expecting the presence of just Prime Minister Viellard, but was delighted by the surprise visit of President Valoir-D'Orléans. The three, in a meeting, decided on framework for a potential free trade treaty. Later at a state dinner hosted at East Wing of the Gidan Sarauta na Nyoka (Nyoka Palace), the Imperial household's quarters, Chief Singhateh announced the appointment of Mr. Banja Marong as the new ambassador to Lourenne.

January 4370
Mariama Darboe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, addresses the Kurageri elections:
Talmoria applauds Kurageri's transition to democracy. However, the Talmorian government must express its concerns regarding the presence of Dorvik's electoral "overseers" and armed personnel. While Dorvik certainly has the right to send observers, no one but the Kurageri themselves should be handling the ballots. We fear that Dorvik's presence could taint the legitimacy of the election results and call on Dorvik to restrict their activities to an observatory role. The Kurageri do not need another sovereign power to oversee them. We also call on Dorvik to apologize for its comments regarding the oversight of "natives" as it is rather insensitive and demeaning towards the Kurageri people.

Talmoria Prepares to Intervene in Utembo
June 4375

Chief Alasan Singhateh, recently reelected to a fourth and final term as Chief of Government, has issued an ultimatum to Medina. Chief Singhateh called on Medina to withdraw its military personnel from Utembo and pay reparations for economic disruption.

On behalf of the government of Her Imperial Majesty Empress Aminatu Saksoure IX, I, Alasan Singhateh, the elected representative of the Imperial Court in Talmoria call on Medina to withdraw immediately from Utembo. Medina should pay reparations to the government of Utembo for the damages it has caused and to cover the costs of economic disruption in Utembo. Talmoria shall give Medina two months to withdraw. If Medina fails to comply then Talmoria will secure peace in Utembo by force. Talmoria will not allow a foreign power to infringe upon the sovereignty of another Esinsundu nation.

Talmorian troops began moving towards the Talmoria-Utembo border shortly after Chief Singhateh's declaration. Meanwhile the newly upgraded Talmorian Airforce, now outfitted with the recently purchased state-of-the-art LV-CRD system, was sent to the Mansare National Airbase near Utembo. Singhateh also called on Talmorian energy companies to cut oil supply and gas pipelines to Medina in order to force Medina to halt their advance.

I go by Ashley now and use she/her pronouns. This is a really old account, I don’t play now.

I was a mod in classic for a bit, then I helped make Marcapada and WM there for a while. As of 2020 I’m co-ordinating Pachapay’s development.

Talmorian Central News Network (TCNN) Broadcast:
September 1st, 4375

After the expiration of the ultimatum given by Chief Singhateh, Talmorian troops entered Utembo with the express goal of expelling the Medinans from Utembo. It is unclear how many Talmorian troops entered Utembo but the battalion leaving Talmorian Eastern Command Base, one of the largest fortifications in the area, included a contingent of at least 20,000 troops from the Talmorian Army and another 10,000 Imperial Esinsundu troops of Hawu and Coburan origin. Thousands more are believed to have entered the country from surrounding military installments. Talmorian led troops have begun securing vital checkpoints and setting up defensive fortifications in key cities and towns. It has become a priority for Talmoria to reach Bajoum, the Utemban capital, before the Medinans to assist in the defense of the city. Additionally, squadron of battleships from an Imperial Esinsundu naval base at the city of Konsiga in Harisani Province is believed to be en route to Medina with the goal of setting up a naval blockade to force Medina to withdraw.

While the Medinans are attempting to plunder their fellow Dovanian brother, Talmoria has opted to share its wealth and resources with Utembo. Talmoria's airforce has begun airlifting food and medical aid to plundered areas. Additionally, Talmoria has expanded its refugee program, that was initially established during the Sørvestland Insurgency, to accommodate Utemban refugees.

Armistice Day?

January 4377

Chief Singhateh has signaled his willingness to commit to a truce after a brutal attack on Utemban forces in the south of the country. The Utemban Army suffered severe casualties during the battle, which prompted the Utemban government to seek negotiations. While Talmorian losses throughout the conflict has been minimal, Talmorians are unused to their loved ones returning in body bags. Support for the war effort has slowly declined over the course of the year as the death toll climbs forcing Singhateh to seek an armistice, despite achieving only part of the mission's goals. Chief Singhateh's administration stated:

Talmoria will respect Utembo's desire for peace and negotiations. Therefore, Talmoria requests an armistice so a full peace agreement may be reached and end the bloodshed.

Talmoria has continued to bolster security and defenses around Bajoum, the Utemban capital, despite the peace overtures. Unconfirmed reports say that Talmoria has constructed a series of fortifications 74km south of Bajoum. If negotiations were to breakdown the fortifications could slow down a renewed offensive against Bajoum.

May 4377

Talmorian troops withdrew from southern Utembo after the signing of a peace agreement which resulted in the secession of the Southern provinces. Most Talmorian naval units withdrew from the Medinese coast after a nearly 2 year long blockade. Minister of Defence Sunkarr Guis stated that Talmoria will continue to patrol the area in order to monitor the troubled region. Minister Guiss also stated that Talmoria will assist Utemban security forces by maintaining several defensive fortifications along the new border and training Utemban military personnel. Additionally, the Defense Ministry has aided Utembo in establishing a demilitarized zone about 75km south of Bajoum, largely where the Medinese offensive halted. The Ministry spokeswoman stated that it was a precautionary measure to prevent Medina from invading Utembo again the minute Talmoria's troops and warships left. Te demilitarized zone will be manned by both Utemban and Talmorian troops. Members of the Talmoria's ruling party have raised concerns regarding the exorbitant costs of maintaining the demilitarized zone over such a long border

February 4380

Uwaezuoke Chukwubuike has been elected as the 8th Chief of Government of Talmoria. He succeeds Chief Alasan Singhateh, ending Singhateh's 20 year Administration. Singhateh's time as Chief saw steady economic growth for years and increasing standards of living. Singahateh also restructured the Talmorian military to a more robust and formidable force in Dovani that saw brief engagements in Utembo. However, Singhateh leaves behind a country with rising inequality between its urban elites and its rural population, something that Chukwubuike has promised to tackle in his first term in office.

Chukwubuike has appointed former primary opponent and former Foreign Minister Mariama Darboe as Deputy Chief of Government, recognizing the precarious situation in southern Dovani with increasing Medinese hostility and expansion. Darboe's expertise as a career diplomat and one of the chief negotiators in the Medinese-Utemban conflict is an immense asset for the Chukwubuike Administration. Darboe's appointment is also seen as an olive branch to the more conservative factions of the National Democratic Party (NDP), after Chukwubuike's more progressive faction won the primary elections.

Excerpt of address from Chief Uwaezuoke Chukwubuike:

Talmoria has watched as Medina terrorized southern Dovani. Talmoria watched as southern Utembo and Tropica fell to the Medinese menace. It is time for Talmoria to take action and defend the people of southern Dovani from the tyranny that is Medina. No nation wants war, but Talmoria has a responsibility to guarantee the peace in southern Dovani. My fellow Talmorians, we will carry out our duty and our responsibility.

As the Chief addressed the nation after Talmoria's official declaration of war on Medina, the 30000 soldiers of the Esinsundu Imperial Forces (EIF), consisting of both Hawu and Talmorian troops, stationed at the Demilitarized Zone entered South Utembo. Both sides of the Demilitarized Zone is heavily guarded, but the IEF is expected to push through. While the Imperial troops are bogged down in the jungles of Utembo the Talmorian National Army (TNA) while be mobilizing small contingents into Stratica to aid in its defense. The TNA will be providing training to the Stratican army and providing logistical support. The Talmorian Foreign Ministry announced that it had revoked recognition of South Utembo as an independent state indicating Talmoria's position on the fate of Medina's protectorate. Talmoria would likely allow the long-awaited reunification of the Utembos. Chants of "First Kansala, then Madinat es-Salaam!" spread as news of the war spread.

OOC: Kansala is a name I made up for the capital of South Utembo. I will change it if someone made up an actual name before me. Madinat es-Salaam is the capital of Medina according to the wiki.
