FIFA World Cup about to begin!


With all stadiums ready, 94 percent of the tickets sold and all broadcasting rights rewarded, is the long awaited FIFA World Cup 4240 about to begin! The overall preperation costs are estimated to be around 6 billion NED. 6 stadiums have been renovated to suit the needs of a World Cup stadium, and 2 new stadiums have been built.

After a period of delaying from the FIFA after internal struggle, the tournament is finally beginning. Tonight on 18:00 the first match will played, preceded by the official opening ceremony, opened by the President of the Confederation. Hundreds of thousands of international supporters have settled themselves in hotels and other accomodations all around the nation, eagerly waiting for the event to begin.

During the event, many police officers and other security staff will safeguard the venues 24/7. The government of the Confederation has put a lot of effort and money into creating a security force in charge of protecting the millions of people attending the tournament. Reason for this is a rise in the number of terrorist threats directed to the FIFA. However, Danilo Huvász, leader of the WC40 Security Squad, appeases: ''This tournament is not going to be about terrorism, enjoy yourselves and the wonderfull sport soccer is!''.

SB-22 entered service


The SB-22 project is finally finished. After heavy testing in Kutohaderia the bomber has been approved by the ministry of defence. The strategic bomber was made by cooperation between the CDG (Confederate Defence Group) and the multinational defence company Banul.

The SB-22 has a blended wing body configuration, with variable-sweep wing, four turbofan engines, triangular fin control surfaces and cruciform tail. The wings can sweep from 15 degrees to 67.5 degrees (full forward to full sweep). Forward-swept wing settings are used for takeoff, landings and high-altitude maximum cruise. Aft-swept wing settings are used in high subsonic and supersonic flight. The SB-22’s variable-sweep wings and thrust-to-weight ratio provide it with improved takeoff performance, allowing it to use shorter runways than previous bombers. The length of the aircraft presented a flexing problem due to air turbulence at low altitude. To alleviate this, Banul included small triangular fin control surfaces or vanes near the nose on the SB-22. The SB-22’s Structural Mode Control System rotates the vanes automatically to counteract turbulence and smooth out the ride.

The SB-22’s maximum speed is Mach 1.25 (about 950 mph or 1,530 km/h at altitude), but its low-level speed increased to Mach 0.92 (700 mph, 1,130 km/h).[61] The speed of the current version of the aircraft is limited by the need to avoid damage to its structure and air intakes. To help lower its radar cross section (RCS), the SB-22 uses serpentine air intake ducts (see S-duct) and fixed intake ramps, which limit its speed compared to the maximum possible speed. Vanes in the intake ducts serve to deflect and shield radar emissions from the highly reflective engine compressor blades.

International trade is going up in the confederation

The international trade in the confederation has grown this year with 9,2%. This amazing growth is because of a new trade agreement with Istalia. In the growing tensions of this world the government of New Endralon/Kizenia is divided in the middle.

The Confederation of New Endralon/Kizenia is still divided in these times where terra is splitting into two camps, the camp of countries fighting for human rights such as Istalia and Luthori and the camp which is fighting for sovereignity with notable members as Vanuku, Kazulia and Rildanor. New Endralon is one of the few countries who have a agreement with Vanuku and Istalia, of which the first one has embargoed the other. Thanks to these tensions international business is very interrested in investing in the growing confederation.


One of the business which have recentely moved to New Endralon/Kizenia is Silver Systems International (SSI), a company from Vorona which has suffered heavily from the embargo of Vorona. Its main product is the manufacturing of hardware. When the trade with its major partner Istalia stopped, the company didn't want to leave immediately, but after the recent developements the company changed its mind and moved to New Endralon/Kizenia.

NEWSFLASH: First KEDA naval exercises in the sea of deliverance

The Kerisian Defencive Alliance (KEDA) will hold a naval exercise in the sea of deliverance. It will be hosted by New Endralon/Kizenia who have started the idea of the exercises. The ships will first prepare for the exercises in the harbor of Tottori, after the preparations the ships will have naval exercises for a week. Both Trigunia and Dolgavia will send parts of their navy to Tottori. The confederation will send the 2nd Strike Group.

During the course of maneuvers the seamen will fulfill all the provisions of the exercise program. Specifically, the crews will conduct artillery firing at waterborne and aerial targets, using about an estimate of 1,500 shells for the purpose.

Also, the seamen will be drilled assistance to a distressed ship, as well as a search and rescue operation of individuals in distress on the high seas.
"They will have to fulfill the tasks of the exercise’s active phase amid complicated weather conditions, as gusts of wind will reach 15 meters per second in the central water area of the sea of deliverance and the heaving of the sea will we rough."

The Ministry of defence has published the new naval review which criticises the navy a lot. We hereby publish the review:

The ministry of defence has ordered the review of the navy first because it looks like the worst part of the army.

Navy
The navy is a complete mess. The navy is poorly structured which means that a normal boat captain has more influence than the admiral. Therefore, we propose the introduction of Strike Groups and Coastal Defense Groups. The navy also has to choose what their future is. The current navy is based upon aircraft carriers but those have retired years ago. The choise is between trying to build/buy a new aircraft carrier or restructuring the navy into a modern sea control navy. Another issue is that the ASM’s (anti ship missiles) have not been tested against a real life target and it is not known what the true value is of every ASM. The ships of the navy are also outdated and we will give a review of every ship.

Strike Group (SG)
WCC (multi role) Although old, it is still a strong ship who has had multiple upgrades. It will be the leader of every SG.
ACC (anti surface) Very outdated, can not survive in a battle situation. The only nations who can find a use in this ship are the third world nations.
SCS (anti submarine, anti surface) Modern, well equipped. Has some problems with the AIP (air independent propulsion).
KCD (anti submarine, anti aircraft) Outdated, has to be replaced soon.
ACD (anti aircraft, anti missile) Very modern, will be in use for a long time.
TCF (multi role) Outdated, useless in a naval battle, some use in land bombardments.
DCF (multi role) Outdated, needs immense update or replacement.

Northern Coastal Defense Group (CDG-N), Southern Coastal Defense Group (CDG-S)
MCCo/ Outdated, can not fight against a big ship but can defend against a landing craft.
ZCCo/ Old, can fight against other old corvettes but is no match against modern corvettes.
TCPB/ Old but fit for the job of anti smuggling missions and anti landing craft missions, no fight against corvettes.

The CDG has already reacted to this situation and proposed an alternative to the old TCF and DCF. The CDG has send this message to the national assembly:

The Ministry of Defence and the CDG have negotiated with the Trigunian Minister of Defence and have agreed to develop a new frigate. The headquarters of the developementprogramme will be housed in Fluviuli. Of all the employees half of them will be from the Confederation, the other half will be from Trigunia. The costs of the developement will also be split in half. 6 frigates will be delivered to both nations, after the first 6 frigates both nations can order more. The first frigates will be delivered around 4252. The delivery of all the ships will probably be around 4256.

The costs have not been released but 20.000 ground soldiers will be fired eventually as the need is not there for a big ground force. 10.00 naval logistic jobs will also be cut. That are the known cost cuts but there are possibly more cuts which are not known yet.

"Confederal Navy ready for immense modernisation program."

The Confederal Navy is ready for a modernisation program, according to the Admiral of the Navy Péter Henrik. After the Review of the Navy, published a time ago, the Admiral has acknowledged the problems and has made some neccesary steps in improving the navy. Older boats have retired and new boats are in production. Especially the High Urgency recommendations have been taken care of.

The High Urgency recommendations, choosing a strategy, getting rid of the Admiraity Class Cruiser and sinking a boat as a target have all been taken care of. Firstly, the strategy. Admiral Henrik: "This was probably the hardest decision. As a former strong navy with aircraft carriers the strategy was completely based upon aircraft carriers. Therefore, it would have been easy to return to that strategy and build or buy a new aircraft carrier. But, there are some big difficulties to this strategy. First, it is very expensive to buy or build aircraft carriers, let alone maintaining them. Secondly, the aircraft carriers are good in an attack situation, but are weak in defencive situations. And this while we don not have any naval bases in other countries. The only attacking role the aircraft carrier could get would be in a war on Keris. That is not logical, as we have recentely ratified the Charter of the Kerisian Defensive Alliance. So we have eventually chosen the Sea Control strategy, which better fits the current global situation."

The Admirality Class Cruisers have also been retired. One ACC is sold to a private historical company which has changed the ship in a museum ship. Two ACC's are scrapped and the pieces sold or reused in the new build APS-19 Class Destroyers and the new frigate which is developed with Trigunia. One ACC has been shot as a target, to improve the Anti Ship Missiles (ASM). Admiral Henrik: "We can not tell you what the goal of this practice was or what we have achieved." Some enviromentalists have protested against the sinking as they believed it would damage the sea enviroment. Admiral Henrik disagrees: "We ofcourse get all the oil out of the ship before we sink it. Furthermore we get all other not importand stuff out of the ship. Recent research actually shows us the positive results of the sinking of ships. The wreckages are great breading places for fish and most wreckages turn into new reefs."

Of the Medium Urgency recommendations some advancements have been made aswell. Admiral Henrik: "Everybody already knows about the developemet program with Trigunia, but we are doing more than that. We are building more APS-19 Class Destroyers. We already have 9 of them but we need more to succeed in the new Strike Groups. Therefore we are building 3 more APS-19's. On the other side we have retired 2 Dracul Class Frigate (DCF) and 4 Tiania Class Frigate (TCF)." We have heard recent rumours about an arms deal with the Istalian company Leonardi Industrial Group. After Admiral Henrik is asked the question if he knows something about it he answers: "I know as much about it as you do, it is a political decision." The Low Urgency Recommendations have not been listend to as far as we know.

Immense upgrade program for older outdated ships

The Confederation of New Endralon, Kizenia and Kuzaki has recentely bought some new littoral defence craft to help the outdated navy. But this was not enogh to satisfy the needs of the ministry of defence. The ministry of defence has published the new modernisation program. Under the ships which are to be upgraded is the Tilarnia Class Patrol Boat and the Tiania Class Frigate.

First up are the Tilarnia Class Patrol Boats. The navy has found a way to increase the weapon systems on this ship. The new upgraded ship will have 2 × 100 mm (3.9 in) guns, 2 × 2 x 30 mm guns, 2 x 4 × 14.5 mm machine guns and 2 × 40 × 122 mm MRL instead of 1 × 100 mm (3.9 in) guns, 1 × Twin 30 mm guns, 2 × Quad 14.5 mm machine guns and 2 × Twin (14.5mm+7.62mm) machine guns. The three older diesel engines will be replaced with two new diesel engines with an increase of 800 hp.The weight of the ship will increase but this is not fatal. The downside of this plan is that the number of sips will be decrease from 75 to 45. This is neccesary as the extra weapons needed to upgrade the ships are not produced anymore.

The Tiania Class Frigates will also be upgraded but the goverment has not yet decided yet how. There are two possibilities under consideration. A cheap version wit upgraded sensors and weapons, and a expencive version with next to better sensors and weapons an improved sensor and a new sonar and an attempt to decrease the radar signature. Both versions have the Leonardi made naval gun Alsemet. The cheap version has a radar for 3d search, a radar for surface search and targeting, a pair of STING directors for the RAM and the gun, ECM sensors, a pair of ASM's midship, a Pholonx aft, the ubiquitous 76 mm Alsemet gun and a new RAM launcher. The expencive version is worth its money as the current setup is a danger for itself and possible escorts as the ship is easily visible with a simple radar. However an unknown factor can be the I-mast as it is only produced by Vanuku.

Endraváros - The first frigates of the cooperation between Trigunia and the Confederation have been delivered. With a small delay and only a bit over budget it is a reasonable succes. With the knowledge from Trigunia and the workers of the Confederation the frigate was build. In the new build dry docks of Endraváros the ships were build. It is a perfect example of international military cooperation. The frigate now has to go trough extensive testing.

Its strengths are Anti-Air warfare, Anti-Submarine and Surface Warfare. It features a combined diesel and gas turbine (COGAG) propulsion with 2  diesel engines generating 3.9 MW each and 2 M90FR gas turbines producing 20.5 MW each, for a total of  49 MW of power. It has a 4 face Poliment 5P-20K multi-function S-band AESA radar which can search and track aerial and surface targets as well as provide guidance to the SAMs. This is complemented by a Furke-4 volume search radar which is uniquely mounted on top of the main radar itself. This prevents interference and allows both radars to have unobstructed search capability. The Monolit 34K1 radar is used for Anti-Ship missile guidance and surface search. It also has a Puma fire control radar for the 130 mm gun and 2 illuminators for the Palash CIWS. Its submarine detection capability is provided by the Zarya M bow mounted and Vinyekta towed array sonars along with the embarked Ka-27 ASW helicopter.

Its armament consists out of 1 × 130mm A-192M primary gun, 16  Universal VLS cells which can be armed with P-800 Oniks (300-500 km range) anti-ship missiles, Kalibr-Nk land attack cruise missiles (2500 km range), 91RTE2 Anti-submarine missile (which drops a torpedo 50 km away). Long-range air defense is provided by 32 Redut VLS cells, which can carry 32 9M96E series SAMs of 40-120 km range. It got 2  Palash CIWS with twin 30 mm Gatling guns each. It has an integrated electro-optic fire control system and 8 short range SAMs. It also has 2 pedestal mounted 14.5 mm heavy machine guns. It has 2 x 4 330mm torpedo tubes for the unique Paket-NK torpedoes which can engage enemy submarines as well as torpedoes, thus serving a dual role.

Newsflash: Energy sector growing slightly after the government scrappes all CO2 regulation


Cetatea Albâ - The government has abolished all CO2 regulations. This has resulted in a massive increase in Coal Power Plants. Coal is the only fossil fuel aviable in big amounts in the confederation. Therefore the power supply in the confederation is dependant of coal power plants. Enviromentalist are very angry at the government. In total 3 new coal power plants will be build. Power prices have also dropped with 8,9% which will benefit the industry of the growing confederation. Only the particulate matter regulation has gone up and all the new coal power plants have to obey to this immediately. The older coal power plants have to obey this within 6 months.
