MateShipping increasing marketshare by buying partners
Nándor Rácz's former ship, now owned by MateShipping
Endravaros - MateShipping has started to increase its marketshare by buying their former partners, which payed a small fee to be included in the MateShipping algorythm. These small fees have been heavily increased to encourage their partners to sell their companies. Not without controverse, as 'social democrats' are complaigning that MateShipping is trying to become a monopoly by exploiting the smaller family companies.
We visited Nándor Rácz, owner of Rácz Nyrt when we talked to him some years ago when MateShipping started offering access to the algoryth. He accepted the offer, and now regrets that decission. Rácz: "When I signed up for the MateShipping, it was the idea to expand my business. But when most small shipping companies like mine used the algoryth, and therefore also most customers, MateShipping increased the feas. It got so far that we eventually had to pay a percentage of our revenue. Eventually the company wasn't profitable anymore, but we couldn't stop using MateShipping's algoryth, or we would lose all customers. That was when MateShipping offered to buy our company. And, yes, I agreed eventually."
More than 60 small family companies have been bought by MateShipping, and with a new rise of fees coming next month, we assume that more companies will be taken over by the giant that is now MateShipping. This, controvesial and smart move has made MateShipping the second biggest shipping company, after Istalian-Selucian Hasan Aeductus World Shipping.
