The Purple Realm Restored

H'an Genzi II formerly called the 'southern H'an' has declared the 'restoration of the purple realm. an ancient phrase often uttered at the end of a civil war in the Khanate of Jelbania. The Khanate has been reunited once more following the capture of the only remaining northern stronghold Klunedomura. The north had no chance of survival following its main benefactor Wiel's decision to withdraw support for the failing statelet. The handful of northern defenders were overwhelmed in a massive attack and the northern royal family captured along with several government Mnistrs and other high officials of the northern state. This effectively ends the eight year long civil war, with the Jeztri H'an Genzi II victorious.

Executions In Klunedomura

Following his capture of the many members of the ruling class of the northern Khanate, H'an Genzi II moved swift to 'dispense justice to rebels'. Common citizens were pardoned upon the paying of large fines, those who failed were enslaved and sent south. Many Mnistrs and army chiefs who were of common birth were given the traditional punishment for traitors - the giant vats were rolled out, filed with water, heated and when it reached boiling point, the men were thrown in and boiled to death. As for the royal family, it was virtually wiped out. Respecting Jelbek traditions about not spilling royal or noble blood, most of the members of the royal family, the H'an wife, children and grandchildren were crushed to death under a massive wheel.

For his rival Temrkai III the defeated northern H'an, the H'an reserved a special punishment. He was 'left alone' in his pet tiger, Jez in a cage at the main city square for all to witness, the beast had been starved for a week for this just this sadistic purpose. Many shamans and other advisors tried to plead with the H'an not to do this as it is known that H'ans who have done such degrading acts in the past rarely survive for long for the Earth Mother and the ancestral spirits detest the spoiling of the earth with royal/noble blood. These acts effectively destroyed the entire rival Temrkai-Mede dynasty as none was spared, not even the devoured northern H'an's three year old grandson. The fact that the destroyed Temrkai-Mede had reigning kin in Vanuku and Barmenia-Deltaria meant precious little as the H'an knew that neither of the countries had it in their interest to jeopardise future ties over this.

H'an Assassinated

H'an Genzi II

H'an Genzi II, the 'Destroyer of Cities' has been assassinated ending a reign of just round eight years. The 48 year old H'an was discovered dead in his chambers in the Purple Palace, apparently the victim of a bullet to the forehead. The H'an who defeated and ousted a republican-Temrkai-Mede based regime leaves a reunited Khanate, 31 sons and 68 daughters. It is unclear who will succeed him, most suppose the three year old Khansrmko (Prince) Lazr is the favourite given his status as the only son of the H'an's by his chief wife, Hatun Caterina Volkova a Deltarian princess. If Lazr succeeds, a Regent-Atabek/i would have to be appointed, with two likely candidates, the boy's mother the Hatun and the late H'an's Premier Bek Vrn. Parties are already forming around the two as many expect that supreme command of the nation will devolve to one of the two soon.

The death has sparked a great deal of spontaneous piety as many view as divine judgement for the way the H'an 'defiled the earth with royal blood' when he fed his rival, the northern H'an Temrkai III to his pet tiger Jez. The less pious have tried to figure out who killed the H'an but clues are far and few between, leading many to claim that skilled foreign agents may have been behind the assassination.

Khansrmko Lazr Elected New H'an

H'an elect Lazr

A specially convened 'election Kurultai' has named Khansrmko Lazr, the four year old son of the assassinated H'an Genzi II to succeed his father as H'an. The move ends a year long interregnum where as per tradition, a Regent-Atabeki governed the nation while the aristocrats of the nation engaged in very long winded discussions who would be best suited for the great position. In this case, it was the Hatun Dowager Caterina, mother of the new H'an. She will continue in her role as Regent-Atabeki while her top rival for the post, Bek Shlajkai Grzkaisrmko Vrn the long serving Premier will continue in his role as head of government. Thus the task of rebuilding the Purple Relam lies in the hands of the Hatun Dowager and the Bek. As per custom, the regency will last until the H'an is 14 years of age.

A split in the conduct of foreign policy has been revealed at the Jelbek royal court with the top two executive officers the Hatun Dowager Caterina Volkova who serves as Regent-Atabeki at odds with her long serving Premier Bek Shlajkai Grzkaisrmko Vrn the most powerful clan chief in the Khanate. The two are divided on the issue of the upcoming election of the Protector of the Jelbic Peoples. The Hatun Dowager supports the election of her elder sister Czarina Alena, the monarch of Deltaria and Queen consort of Barmenia. Bek Vrn supports the Vanukean candidate, viewing the election as an opportunity to rebalance the country's diplomatic stance from a fervently pro-Deltarian stance to one which is more amenable to Vanuku, a formerly longstanding ally. The Hatun Dowager on the other hand, is part of a growing body of people who suspect Vanuku of involvement with the assassination of H'an Genzi II in 4054.


Premier Bek Vrn

The division has come to a head over the nomination of Jelbania's five member strong delegation to the Electoral Committee. The Premier demurred from endorsing a list of delegates proposed by the Hatun Dowager, all of whom were her creatures and allies. This kind of decision by tradition, is the role of the H'an (represented by the Hatun Dowager in this case) but tradition binds the monarch to consult with the Premier on such actions. The ultimate decision however lies with the monarch and the Hatun Dowager might just end up having her way.

Caterina’s Gamble

After three years of unending confrontations with her Premier Bek Shlajkai Grzkaisrmko Vrn, the Hatun Dowager Caterina Volkova made a reckless gamble by calling for free elections. This led to the venturing into unknown territory as no political parties were organized in the country. The Bek himself also supported the move, hoping to find a way to dislodge his hated rival from power. The years of state neglect and warfare have destroyed most public institutions and this was evident in the election result which saw the Jelbek Renaissance Party a newly formed 'slightly' Ahmadist inspired party winning every single legislative seat. The party had been formed by a network of Ahmadist scholars, charities and other public benefit organisations which became well entrenched all over the Khanate during the war years.


Premier elect Ebs Klunehnd

The Hatun Dowager having made her gamble, now finds herself with another wild card in her hand , one empowered with a popular mandate. She invited the leader of the winning party Ebs Klunehnd to form a new government. The election winners have declared themselves to be supportive of the monarchy but present a radical state reform plan which will certainly raise tensions with Jelbania’s great aristocrats who have monopolized power for the past four centuries with only a few breaks.

Lazr, Khan of Jelbania looking for a wife

The 21 year old khan is reportedly looking for a wife according to reports from the royal palace, pressure has amounted for the young khan to produce an heir after his father's untimely death and his very young succession to the throne. The newly elected government led by the Labor party has announced they would be seeking a wife from the many nations in the world and that applications could be sent from the remaining royal families for the khan to review. In other news coming from the palace, there has been news that the khan may also exchange royal titles for emperor of Jelbania to officially to make Jelbania an empire rather than a khanate. A bill proposed by the government is now being voted on to enact the change.

The Khanate's brief three decade flirtation with electoral democracy has come to a grinding halt, ended by the same woman who began it. Following the death of the 33 year old H'an-Emperor Lazr after 'long liver-related health problems', his mother the Hatun Dowager Caterina Volkova once again took the helm and has been named Regent-Atabeki for her two year old grandson Shlajkai IV. Her first decree was the suspension of the elected government and appointment of a new Cabinet stuffed with military and clan supporters - the very ones who helped her return to power. The 70 year old Hatun Dowager has named herself Premier and has vowed to suppress democratic movements in the Khanate, viewing them as a source of corruption and ineptitude.

Baofluz, Perimor, January 4090- The Jelbék Ám'ádsrlji Rekvaknsé Prta, an Ahmadi Republican political movement founded by Grakkrt Clan leader Juhn Juhnsrmko Grakkrt, seized control of the capital city of Baofluz after a short battle with the Palace Guard. The movement was supported by millions of Jelbek Ahmadis, who sought to bring order to a nation plagued by a virtual anarchy, as the self-serving monarchy ignored the needs of the people.

The seven-year-old H'an Shlajkai IV and his family, including the 75-year-old Hatun Dowager Caterina Volkova, previously serving as Premier and Regent, are to be exiled from Jelbania following the passage of the Establishment of the Ahmadi Republic. The JARP has installed an interim cabinet, led by Juhnsrmko Grakkrt and consisting of members of the Grakkrt Clan and other Clans who have supported the movement, including the Ujmokai Clan, Heijikai Clan, and Akedjrka Clan. Despite the JARP's strict interpretation of Ahmadi law, the names of three women have appeared in their cabinet proposal- Lín Hydwaskaidrsme Heijikai to be Mnistr of Education and Culture, Fluzmai Mrjkaidrsme Grakkrt to be Mnistr of Food and Agriculture, and Klune Strhosídrsme Ujmokai to be Mnistr of Environment and Tourism.

Juhnsrmko Grakkrt stated that the JARP's first priority is the establishment of the Ahmadi Repbulic. After that is achieved, their goals are the spread of the Ahmadi faith throughout Jelbania and rule over Jelbania according to Ahmadi law. He also stated that Jelbania's withdrawal from certain treaties that "do not adequately reflect our status as an Ahmadi nation" was a top priority.

Ahmadi Republic Officially Established

Baofluz, Perimor, November 4090- With violence among H'anist loyalists and other dissenters of the Jelbék Ám'ádsrlji Rekvaknsé Prta dying down nationwide, the interim government officially passed the Establishment of the Ahmadi Republic into law, along with their administrative reforms. With the passage of the Establishment Act, the monarchy was officially abolished, to be replaced with an elected Hldjezim'm (Grand Imam) who will also serve as head of the Kàbina. The act also abolished the old monarchical noble titles, but allowed new titles to be granted by the Hldjezim'm, though these new titles were greatly reduced in power and can no longer be hereditary.

The Administrative Reform Act bans multiple citizenship, allows for government appointees to be appointed based on political views, empowers the Hldjezim'm to appoint local mayors, and requires all citizens to register their religion with the government.

The biggest voices of dissent within the JARP raised concerns over the Hldjezim'm's appointment of local mayors, fearing that it would topple the existing clan structure. Party leader Juhn Juhnsrmko Grakkrt assured members that these concerns were unfounded, and that the legislation would only allow the Hldjezim'm to appoint mayors to established settled communities and did not extend to the appointment of clan leaders.

Before calling for elections, the interim government wishes to pass two more comprehensive reform packages- a set of religious reforms and a set of education reforms. "These reforms are what we fought to achieve," said Lín Hydwaskaidrsme Heijikai, interim Mnistr of Education and Culture, who authored the legislation. "They are the cornerstones of an Ahmadi society. Without them, our efforts have been in vain. They must be passed now, in the transitional period, as an addendum to the establishment of the Ahmadi Republic."

The religious reform package will penalize citizens for public blasphemy, ban non-Ahmadi missionaries from entering Jelbania, tax non-Ahmadi religious institutions, require citizens to dress according to strict Ahmadi customs, require all schools to be affiliated with the Ahmadi faith, require mandatory prayers in school, and require all citizens to follow the Ahmadi faith. The education reform package will ban homeschooling, establish a system of public Ahmadi universities while banning private universities, establish a system of public preschools, ban private schools, ban sexual education in schools, empower teachers to use corporal punishment, and establish a mandatory national curriculum in accordance with Ahmadi values. Both sets of legislation are expected to pass next month.

JARP Unveils "Urbanization Project," Plans for New Capital

Baofluz, Perimor, November 4094- The Jelbék Ám'ádsrlji Rekvaknsé Prta recently unveiled a new plan to modernize Jelbania that it dubs the "Ahmadi Republican Urbanization Project." The plan, drafted by Mnistr for Infrastructure and Transport Halíd Slejmansrmko Grakkrt, is to encourage nomadic Jelbanians to settle in newly developed and recently expanded urban areas. The first phase of the plan includes a proposal to construct a new capital city in the ruling Grakkrt clan's ancestral homeland of eastern Baniray. Party officials claim that the new capital, to be named Suadjahrltajezstad, would be more modern than the current capital at Baofluz, although geographically speaking, there's not much distance between the two sites.

The Urbanization Project's first phase will also expand the current city of Wrntuégrzojogad, Turadrad, with new residential and commercial developments. Details of how to encourage nomads to settle in these cities have not yet been released.

The Urbanization Project will also rename three existing cities, to better suit the Ahmadi spirit of our nation and its government. The city of Baofluz will be renamed Ám'ádjezstad, in honor of the great apostle Ahmad, founder of the faith. The city of Vrnéshrvjezstad, Baniray will be renamed Vfzikaijezstad to honor our faithful Ahmadi citizens. Finally, the city of Prsakijsrljitrk, Rilmos will be renamed Akimsrljitrk, to honor the fact that the soul of Akim resides in all things.
