FREEDOM PARTY VICTORY

The Freedom Party has come out on top of the most recent election by a slim margin, obtaining 170 seats of the Jelbanian Parliament, along with 3 of the Provinces Governorships, placing them in a slim, but noticeable lead for control of Parliament. Party Chairwoman and Minister of Internal Affairs Angel Ross has already gone through the ceremonial process of being requested by the Emperor to become Prime Minister. It is a matter of days before Ross announces her plan for her new coalition.

This is the first time in as many years as can be remembered that the Grand Nationalists Party lost control of the house, and the first time that another party leader in recent years has been asked by the Emperor to form government, something that isn't lost on Freedom Party higher ups, who have, in the short time since the party was founded, managed to become the top party in Jelbania. Freedom Party House Leader, Ashley Cooper was optimistic about the coming term.

This has been a massive achievement and we have the followers of the Freedom Party to thank, and the successes of the Freedom Party Stalwarts that turned out in droves, and organized our registered members to come to the polls. But we have a lot of work to, this is just the beginning.

Under new election rules brought on by Bill F-17, the Freedom Party will only have 4 years to guide the country before another election, a significantly shorter time then the Grand Nationalists Party traditionally held at a full six years between elections before, and to convince the Jelbanian people they should remain the top party in charge.

EMPEROR INVITES ROSS TO FORM NEW GOVERNMENT

Angel Ross visited the Imperial Palace today, where His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor invited her to form a new government, appointing her as Her Prime Minister to succeed John Stephen who had just tendered his resignation. This comes as the GNP looses the control of government for the first time in decades, and with Parliament welcoming the new coalition, headed by the Freedom Party.

Prime Minister Stephen made his announcement outside the PM's residence earlier today before going to the Palace, where he tendered his resignation to Emperor John. He stated, with relative calmness and soundness, that he would request that the Emperor invite Freedom Party Chair Angel Ross to form the new government. He said that he had "loved the job...for its potential to make this country I love fairer, more tolerant, more green, more democratic, more prosperous, a greater Jelbania."He finished his speech with a tribute to the Armed Forces and his colleagues, before ending with a jest, "Thank you and goodbye, for now."

Following on from John Stephen's visit, Angel Ross responded to an invitation and was photographed in an audience with the Emperor, where he invited her to form a new Parliament. A formal document has been released confirming the appointment. Ross then announced the composition of the new coalition cabinet.

Last Saturday's election saw Parliament's numbers trimmed down to 500 seats. The Freedom Party emerged as the new majority party with 170 seats, albeit short of the 50+1% number. The conservative GNP lost 117 seats, settling for a 33% share of 165 seats. The Democratic Front Party meanwhile also won 165 seats.

The current composition of Parliament again ensures that no party can form a government without help from another. It is likely that there will still be significant political wrangling for the passage of bills and other legislation, though experts predict that given earlier agreements by party leaders, the new coalition will see no major political gridlock.

OPINION OF ROYALTY AT 0

In a scatching poll released by Freedom Party analysts it found that the Jelbanian people no longer support the Emperor at all in the slightest. A recent poll taken was found with the following results.

This has been a growing issue of contention that has existed since 3313 when the LGBT first introduced the Republic Act, which the Freedom Party at the time swore they would support if it went to a vote. With voter support now behind the abolishment of the Monarchy, the removal of former President Emperor John I as head of state in lieu of an elected head of State.

The formation of a new party in Jelbania is causing quite a stir on the once-dormant political scene.

Their slogan, "Arise, Jelbania!", has been seen on posters and billboards in several cities in a few states, and with the election season just around the corner, who knows what the Congress will look after November 3335? They have submitted several new bills, and show some promise for becoming a political contender next year.

The party released this impromptu manifesto just a couple months ago.

We are living under fascist oppression. Jelbania is a nation of democracy and freedom, and a one-party dictatorship is not what the people want. The so-called "Freedom Party" has choked the human rights out of our country, and it's time to take back the Congress for the people!

As Jelbics, the New Liberal Party embraces democracy, and the right of the people to choose between at least two opposing facets of government. A one-party state bars this from occurring, and it must end. We shall change current laws stating that only the ruling party may put forth a cabinet. We will vote for the rights of all to choose their leaders.

We also believe in a government that helps its people. As such, universal healthcare and welfare for the unemployed is a vital part of our mission. We believe that the retirement age must be lowered to age 60, so as to ease the pain of our elders who work in difficult professions. We also believe in the right of the worker to bargain as a collective with their employer. We believe that a flourishing trade union has the ability to protect the rights of the Jelbic worker, and this is a necessary part of our mission.

We believe that the Constitution must be upheld, and the laws by which we live must be enforced. That being said, we believe that violence is never the answer. We would like to see defence toned down in the national budget, and instead more emphasis focused on peacekeeping efforts, both here in our country and on an international scale.

We frown upon any organization or party that denies the harmful effects that humanity has on its environment, and the JNLP is dedicated to making sure that Jelbania's beautiful natural scenery is preserved.

The economy of our nation is a unique one, and one that needs to be reigned in by our government. Capitalism, while it creates short-term prosperity and large personal wealth, cannot go unchecked, for time and time again we see multinational corporations that become huge money-sucking immoral monsters, destroying small business and hurting our nation. As such, the JNLP seeks to combat unlimited-free market economic policies, and replace them with more sanctions against those who behave poorly, and regulate those with little good judgment.

Our rallying emblem is a crimson tiger, symbolizing the will of the people to fight for their rights against all odds.

Freedom Party takes Presidency and Congress



After the most successful election in history, the Freedom Party has completely taken Congress and in the first Presidential election since 3275, taken the Presidency. Angel Ross, former Prime Minister now President and Chancellor, took the election with 99.8% of the total vote, the most complete victory since the 3295 election of the Grand Nationalists Party. Ross has promised this was her last election as Freedom Party Chairwoman and leader but has promised to the USJ through one last term to bring the country to even bigger heights.

President Assures Emergency Measures Only to Last Till Zardugal Sees Reason

Despite the on going hostilities with the Zardugal Federation President Woodbury has assured the population the trubulent times will soon pass. In the past year year the Freedom Party has passed a number of bills through Congress retracting some rights, expanding the powers of the FBI and CIA, raising taxes across the board and greatly increasing the national budget; having doubled it since the war began and possibly the biggest sign, having the capital temporaly shifted to New Ashplain. Although Baofluz remains the capital on paper the President and Congress have effectively occupied the state legisitlature while President Woodbury is staying as a guest of honor in the Governor's Mansion.

According to recent polls optimism and support of the government remains at an all time high with President Woodbury's personal popularity still at skyrocketing high levels for his calm and effective leadership during this struggle, including his direct command over it. In November of 3350 President Woodbury ordered Minister of Defence Derek Carter to resign while the President took over his portfolio directly.

Cabinet Shuffle

President Woodbury has recently announced a Cabinet Shuffle with the highest echelons of government. Several Ministers were ordered to resign and were replaced. The highest profile changes, aside from the President's official takeover of the Defence Department was the appointment of former Colonel Alexander Woodbury, President Woodbury's son, to Chancellor while his daughter Abigail Woodbury has been appointed the new Minister of Internal Affairs. President Woodbury has assured these changes were necessary in this time of crisis and welcomes the newest members his Cabinet.

SUPREME CHANCELLOR PASSES AWAY

Supreme Chancellor Kyle Woodbury, the Father of the Dominion, passed away late night in his sleep at the Chancellor Palace in New Ashplain. He served in Jelbanian politics 56 years, first as the Freedom Party's Justice Critic, before becoming the Minister of Justice in 3313, a position he held until he become our beloved Head of State in 3340. The Supreme Chancellor is being honored by the country as a whole for successfully and benevolently leading our nation for 22 years. He along with the Great Liberator, Angel Ross, are one of two Co-Founders of the glorious Freedom Party, which has been leading our nation since the 3319 revolution, which saw the Freedom Party become the top and most powerful party in Jelbania.

Chief Minister Alexander Woodbury, head of the Dominion Government, and son of the late Supreme Chancellor has become intern leader of our great nation until a new successor for the Party can be named, though many expect the Party as a whole to endorse the current Chief Minister.

WOODBURY PURGES CABINET

In a showing of force of entering the international political scene and to secure power within his government the Great Successor Alexander Woodbury has announced a massive Cabinet Shuffle to represent his new benevolent governing of the country. Upon his election to the highest office, the Supreme Chancellor immediately appointed longtime Minister of Foreign Affairs, both with the old US government and the new Dominion government and a long time supporter of the Father of the Dominion and mentor to both the current Supreme Chancellor and the sitting Minister of Internal Affairs, his sister Abigail Woodbury, Catherine MacInnis the position of Chief Minister of Parliament. With her appointment she immediately, under the Supreme Chancellor's direction purged most of Kyle Woodbury's supporters from the Cabinet, to make room for some new blood the Great Successor has discovered. Only John Smith, the Industry and Trade Minister and Abigail Woodbury, the Internal Affairs Minister have kept their portfolios. Well the exact details on the new politicians are widely known the Chief Minister has promised a "New Doctrine to represent the new dominance of the Dominion."

The MacInnis Doctrine Takes Hold

As in accordance with the MacInnis Doctrine a statue of Angel Ross, the Great Liberator and Kyle Woodbury, the Father of the Dominion, the two Co-Founders of our great Freedom Party have been erected in the cities formerly known as Baofluz and New Ashplain. In honor of the two great politicians that lead us out of the darkness of the time of Imperial and Grand Nationalists Oppression to the rise of our great Dominion the two cities have been renamed in honor of the leaders who once graced their halls with Baofluz, the former capital under the Imperial reign and the birthplace of Ross herself has been named Rossburg in her honor while New Ashplain, the birth place of the Woodbury family, the wartime capital and now legal capital of the Dominion and former headquarters of the Dominion Armed Forces has been renamed Woodburygrad. Supreme Chancellor of the Dominion, the Great Successor Alexander Woodbury presided over the renaming ceremonies of both cities, while Freedom Party Stalwarts and Dominion Elite Guard put on a parade in Rossburg and the elite 3rd Armored Division did an excellent parade in Woodburygrad.

Other celebrations are planned throughout the month as this month marks the 65th anniversary of the birth of the Freedom Party by Ross and Woodbury. They originally founded the Freedom Party in October of 3306 to challenge the hegemony of the reigning Grand Nationalists Party winning significant force in the 3313 elections and taking control of the government in 3323, from which the Freedom Party has faithfully governed our nation. Massive celebrations are planned already for December 3373 to mark the 50th consecutive year of Freedom Party governance of our great nation.
