CONDE AND OTHERS REWARDED WITH THE GADURI STAR

Gadur, Marligantos - Supreme General Ortega Conde of the Gaduri Freedom Guard stepped off the transport from Kazulia today, to a cheering crowd. Conde had returned after a long journey from Verdalheim, a fortified forward operating base for both Gaduri paramilitaries and the Gaduri official military.

The transport, which docked in the Gadur Military Harbor, was surrounded by an estimated 50,000 people (police estimate; organizers estimate roughly 76,000-77,000 people) who welcomed the paramilitary general home. This "return home party", as it has been dubbed on social media, forced the closure of several streets near the Gadur harborfront.

Present and taking center stage in the return home party was Prime Minister Alavaro Tam, who, under his authority as Prime Minister, presented the returning Conde with a Gaduri Star, the highest civilian award in the Federal Union, for his brave service in the Kazulian War.

During the Kazulian War, General Conde led the Gaduri Freedom Guard in a series of hit-and-run attacks against Kazulian scouting forces, defending the construction crews in Verdalheim while the military fortification was being built. Military analysts have determined that his proactive actions against scouting by the Kazulian regime was key in keeping the Kazulian forces from striking the fortification too early - the eventual battle took place after the fortification was already largely completed, and was a decisive Gaduri victory.

Numerous other Guard members also received awards, such as one who saved a member of the Gaduri Army from a grenade by tackling the soldier away from it. This Guard member, Sergent Galan, was hospitalized after injuries due to the shrapnel after the event. As she made her way to the Prime Minister with two walking sticks, she received a round of applause, not only from the crowd that had gathered, but also from the Guard members disembarking behind her.

Whether any of the Guard members will receive military awards remains to be seen, and is in the sole jurisdiction of the Minister of Defense.

CONFUSION IN KAZULIA POLICY

Gadur, Marligantos - While Finance Minister Rebecca Sellico has been extremely clear regarding her position on the dissolution of Gaduri paramilitaries as soon as possible, rumors have circulated that the plans of the Minister of Defense are vastly different. An anonymous account from a high-ranking position in one of Gaduridos' paramilitaries has reported to The Gadur Times that the Minister of Defense has ordered paramilitaries to stay in Kazulia, to continue patrols in the region.

With the two Ministers having battled in Gaduri media publicly, the thought that the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Finance have very different goals in mind is not a shocking one - the Minister of Defense has lambasted the Finance Minister publicly for making the paramilitary situation worse, while the Finance Minister appears to be on a single-minded crusade to end the paramilitaries of the nation as soon as possible.

The most prominent of the Gaduri paramilitaries, the Gaduri Freedom Guard, has kept a reserve force, under the command of an unnamed Colonel in Kazulia, presumably under the orders of the Minister of Defense. Meanwhile, the Supreme General of the Guard, Ortega Conde, has returned to Gadur. Speculation in the populace suggests that Conde has returned to Gadur for political reasons, in order to better understand the priorities of the divided Cabinet regarding the Kazulian issue.

Conde has significant political pull in Gadur, as a leading member of the NLP, and has thus far sided with the Minister of Defense, citing the law - "paramilitaries are under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Defense", Conde said in a press conference.

Conde is rumored to have set up a meeting with his close political ally, Prime Minister Alavaro Tam, to sort out the current issues regarding Kazulia.

WITH FRANKENSTEIN STILL AT LARGE, DEFENSE MINISTER DECLARES KAZULIAN WAR IS NOT OVER AND THAT PARAMILITARIES SHALL STAY

Gabriel Michael Hernandez has announced that although the NPC government has been toppled, the conflict in Kazulia is not over yet as the NPC militants have retained some territories under their control. As such he has made a firm statement that paramilitaries would continue to exist, openly condemning Rebecca Sellico's attempts to terminate them based on the assertion that hostilities had officially ceased.

"How can hostilities have 'officially ceased' when Frankenstein and his men have not been brought to justice yet? In fact, they still oppress thousands of Kazulians in the areas that remain in the clutches of their iron fists. We must liberate all Kazulian people. All of them!

Should we get rid of our paramilitaries now, when we need them most urgently to destroy this insurgency? No!

Okay Ms. Sellico, you think you are so smart. You think you have authority over these paramilitaries. But you are not the Minister of Defense, I am. We have had enough of your meddling. STOP IT!

I hereby decree that until we have completely destroyed the remnants of the NPC, paramilitaries shall remain legal!"

With Marshal Frankenstein captured and in custody, Justice Minister Peter Xi has confirmed that a military tribunal will be held at the conclusion of the war, with Frankenstein and his allies facing serious charges. The trials will take place in the Kazulian capital of Skalm.

GFP MAKES HUGE GAINS IN 4612 ELECTIONS

The Gaduridos Freedom Party secured 67 seats this election, dominating the state of Marligantos and becoming the second largest party in Gaduridos. Moreover, they have won the presidential elections for the first time backed by the Social Conservative Party, with Nikolas Ilene Serpico beating Hollande Didez 58.51% to 41.23%. The only downside for the GFP and SCP is that the LUP/SPP coalition has a one-seat majority, meaning that leftist policies will most likely be reinstated.
