Brethrenist Party opens Branches in every State
Elects Gender Ballanced Slate for Shadow Government; Moves first legislative proposalsOccidente, North Vintalli
May 12, 4484Party Leader Tina Calderone takes questions from Party Delegates in April, along with leading Gaduri ClerksThe recently concluded, if unweildly named "All-Gaduri Brethrenist Party Annual Meeting with Attention to Business of the Party" concluded last month with the confirmation of Tina Calderone as Party leader and the election of a gender balanced slate for Shadow Government.
Sister Calderone addressed the Meeting: "I am proud of the delegates here who have traveled to this remote State, some with the help of their local Meetings, some on their own dime, and the work we have accomplished this week. We may not have any of our members elected to office, but we are working to institutionalize the Party both in the Government and outside."
Calderone listed the achievements of the Brethrenist Movement in Gaduridos since it was initially founded in 4481. "In 4 short years, we have turned four profitable harvests, we've taught more than 650 kids to read, we've passed out more than 200 pairs of shoes that allow local villagers to reach their jobs, we've built more than 200 jobs in North Vintalli alone, we've expanded Meeting Membership from around 65 when we arrived to more than 600 across Gaduridos, with nearly 8 times as many attenders, and our colony in Brethren is in the black for the first time due to donations and sales of our production. We have Brethrenist restaurants now in 6 cities across Vintalli and within 6 months, we'll have a restaurant in Gadur on Marligantos. Our charitable and profitable associations have dramatically outperformed our political operation."
Calderone was nonetheless optimistic. "We have a bit of a choke point on this front: there is a law we are hoping to change for the better, to allow us to make more proposals and allow us to gain more viability in Government and before the electorate. It is our hope that we can get some of the major Parties to support an opening."
Delegates to the Meeting came from across Gaduridos' five States, and over four days, discussed platform issues and candidates. At the end of the Meeting, the Platform Committee issued some specific recommendations, but said they needed to continue to meet over the next year before a full platform is forthcoming. Specifically, they recommended, and the Meeting adopted, minutes on Peace, ecology, Social Welfare, and social justice. The Delegates appointed a permanent committee on Platform to continue the work on the Platform and to have a report by the next annual meeting.
The Shadow Government proposed by Meeting delegates are as follows:

Foreign Affairs- Elvero Delgado
