Port Renovations completed amidst far-left government; Isabella Arriaga takes reigns of the PNP.As the Corporación Estatal Gaduri (Gaduri State Corporation) announces the completion of the Port Renovation Project, functionally modernizing Gaduri ports and allowing easier travel across the nation and allowing goods to go to and from Gaduridos easily, the results have already shown themselves as the capacity for economic growth has been cemented. Whether for civilian use such as tourism or commercial use such as oil exports, the development of the nations ports will allow a greater capacity for economic growth and improve quality of life.
However, these results have been announced only months after national elections, with the party that has spearheaded infrastructure reform, the
Partido Nacional Progresista (National Progressive Party) getting third place in national elections, the party has been pushed out of government, with the far-left Partido Socialista Libertario (Libertarian Socialist Party) gaining not only a full majority in the National Congress but also gaining government. Miquel Ramos, former president and leader of the PNP was forced to resign, with the party essentially turning on him due to leading the party to not only losing the presidency, but being relegated to third place. Isabella Arriaga, a notable moderate in the party and a member of the party's "right wing" has been elected, and will now have to lead the PNP through these radical 4 years as the LSP has already looked to transition Gaduridos from moderation and the mixed regulated economy to a more planned if not outright communist economy. This of course has worried moderates from the Centre-Left all the way to the Right. Combined with the recent port modernizations and any potential economic growth could be thrown away.
The most recent bill by the LSP, the "Restoration of Socialism Bill" has gained specific controversy as in a rare case of bipartisanship, the PUI, CRP and the PNP have all aligned in firm opposition to the bill and the LSP. With the PUI opposing on grounds of stability and the CRP opposing in a conservative fashion, the PNP has moved to oppose it on the grounds of moderation, believing the bill to not only threaten the Status Quo, and subsequently the economy, but also is simply too radical for Gaduridos. Isabella Arriaga has already criticized the bill heavily, citing it as the first step towards moving the country away from the carefully established mixed economy towards a full command economy. Whatever the case, the best 4 years will be turbulent for Gaduridos.
