Deltaria and Pontesi agree to massive arms deal

Arevatsag Astgh, Tigranavan - President Tateos Altunian has confirmed that the Pontesian government has agreed to an arms deal with fellow Majatran Security Organization state, Deltaria. Representatives from the Ministry of National Defense, including National Defense Minister Army General Sograd Garabedian, have met with officials from the Deltarian MSO delegation and the Deltarian embassy to confirm a large arms deal with the Deltaria. The arms deal focuses on enhancing the domestic arms industry of Pontesi. While the domestic industry was the prime focus, the deal also included a number of T-80 Oplot-M main battle tanks to bolster the aging Pontesian Ground Forces armor corps which has experienced a resurgence as the Pontesian Ground Forces have returned to bases across the country, the deal will also include a large number of armor personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles.

The most prominent production will be leveraging the ability of the domestic aerospace industry to develop a localized variant of the MiG-29, a prominent multi-role fighter that will greatly enhance the air and air defense capabilities of the Pontesian Air and Air Defense Forces. Commander of the Air and Air Defense Forces General Soukias Haroutiunian has welcomed the decision for Deltaria to sponsor a domestic variant of the MiG-29 which General Haroutiunian has said will bolster the Pontesian air defense greatly. The localized variant of the MiG-29 was not the only win for the air and air defense forces, the development of a localized variant of the modern Mi-24 helicopters, known as the "Hind" which will provide both attack and transport capabilities for the Pontesian Ground Forces and Air and Air Defense Forces. They will be joined by a new local variant of the Mi-8, Mi-26 and Mi-17 will facilitate the development of a stalwart helicopter industry and will provide the availability for the civilian industry to be bolstered as well. This is in addendum to the announcement that the Ministry of National Defense has resumed domestic production of the Su-25P, the domestic variant of the close air support-ground attack aircraft that begun in November, 4818. The Military Industrial Committee (Arev Mardik: Rrazmardyunaberakan komite; RK) has announced the development of a localized variant of the Trigunian T-72, known as the T-72 "Arryuts" or Lion in Arev Mardik. The program is expected to finished and enter into production in January, 5064 and is likely to experience a boon by former engineers and scientist from Trigunia assisting in the project, also with cooperation from fellow Deltarian cooperation. Representatives from the Military Industrial Committee have also approached the Majatran Organization for Industrialization to potentially buy equipment, but will likely continue cooperation with Deltaria as a sign of friendship and cooperation.

Republicans win back power in Pontesi: constitutional changes ahead

AREVATSAG ASTGH, TIGRANAVAN - The newly formed Republican party has won the august election in Pontesi, as they were standing as the only party on the ballot. The Republicans, founded by a long descendant of former President Tsolag Khachaturian (Pontesian Democratic Union), of course aim at the abolition of the Luthorian-speaking monarchy and institutions, doing so with a newly proposed Constitutional Reform that would already restore key laws and institutions of the Republic.

Although, the current King will remain in office until our country won't get repealed our ratification of the international Monarchist treaty, which binds our State to have an ereditary Head of State.

The new Government has promised centrist reforms in various policy sectors and also promised to stabilize Pontesi's international relations, especially with the western neighbors of Beiteynu. The new Prime Minister, to be sworn by next month, has promised that stabilization will come soon after the reforms.

Sonya Aslanyam is the new President of the Republic, the Monarch has voluntarily left the capital

AREVATSAG ASTGH, TIGRANAVAN - Following the february 5251 snap election, called to elect the first President of the Republic, Sonya Aslanyam (Republicans) is the new Head of State of the Pontesian republic. The previous Monarch, Alastair Marshall voluntarily left the now-Presidential Palace after a long meeting with President Aslanyam.

A good monarch should know that the will of the people is all what matters. Pontesians want a Republic, and my civic duty is to respect this wish. To Ms. Aslanyam I wish success, not for her, but for our country.

A small crowd of Royal supporters gathered outside the palace to salute the former Monarch and to see with curiosity Ms. Sonja Aslanyam, opposed to them there was a larger crowd to welcome the arrival of the Republic. The country, although, is not enthusiasmed with politics, only around 15% of the population partecipated in the last election, due to the fact that the Republicans were the only party which managed to qualify in the ballot. In addition, a modest number of write-in votes has been casted.

President Aslanyam has said in her first statement to the Nation, that Pontesi could develop a democratic culture quite soon, and invited citizens to form their own parties.

President Aslanyan has also talked about her "economic renewal act", aimed at grow Pontesi's economy, and talked about the importance of a pacifist foreign policy.

Aslanyan presents economic revitalization project worth 60 billions of PON
The Government's Act, called "a new ERA" (A New Economic Revitalization Act) aims at using a good part of our country's current surplus to make huge investments.

AREVATSAG ASTGH - President Sonya Aslanyan has presented her administration's plan to deal with Pontesi's current weak economy, which follows years of unstability and state economic control. The Republicans' first aim at revitalizing the economy is the "Reform VI", a set of laws proposed by the Senate of the Republic to liberalize the entire national economy, and repeal the current heavy regulations the Government has imposed on it.

But now the Administration wants more: following the approval of the new liberal budget bill, which greatly increased public expenditure, and has created a strong budget surplus fluctuating between 33 and 35 billions of PON, they want to spend a very big part of this surplus, almost 30 billions, for two years, in clean energy projects, the renewal of the nation's railroads, and the building of three new highways to better connect the capital city to the rest of the country.

We need this big and bold, multi-year investment to ensure a more rosy, prosper and green future.

The proposed projects require several years to be completed, for example, the highways will be ready in only seven years, and the railroad network will be upgraded in four. Finance Minister Emasdouhi Malkhassian said on this:

We are already making a big bet investing this big sum of money given our fragile economy. We can't afford to force the process and have these projects completed in less time. That requires an investment that we, honestly, can't make.

The Administration has promised to keep up with the people on the developement of the proposed projects.
