Bastards do nothing, win more seats

The CBP takes all 5 regions in an unexpected election performance

SLADJIE, Dandratur - After a slow electoral mandate, the Cynical Bastardry Party have shocked political commentators by gaining even more seats at their second post-revival election. Having expanded their seat count from 68.25% to 76.5%, polling 83.17% of the national vote, it is believed that national uncertainty over the Empire's role on the international stage has enabled the Bastard promise of negotiations to reap heavy rewards, despite the promise being 4 years old. With the Democrat re-establishment of their platform and local politics being the only notable domestic political events of the past 4 years, few expected the Democrat assertion to result in the loss of 6 seats.

Dandratur principality posted another Bastard whitewash, with Abure only giving 1 seat to the Democrats out of 78 and posting an outright majority in every region besides missing Xanduley - the party's historical origin - by one seat; local government work is believed to be the underlying cause of this support, although it is widely expected that Bastard euphoria will wash off at the next election.

Youl Eeda tests the conference setup

In an image leaked to the press during the campaign, Youl Eeda was shown seemingly testing conference equipment with unknown flags, which he explained at the time as "a political roleplayers' convention". Questions have been asked as to whether the image is actually a new hospitality centre in an undisclosed location, destined to be inaugurated for the talks, whether it was entirely an underhand technique to win votes, or whether the expenses budget of the Members of the August Parliament should be restrained in order to prevent them roleplaying, after a member of the Aburan assembly attended adorned with plastic accessories, dressed as a paladin, with his civil servants as halflings.

Itnie Zachans at the address

LERNA, Xanduley - Itnie Zachans, Foreign Affairs minister, announced that plans for the long-expected international talks were under way and acknowledged belated congratulations and well-wishes from Baltusia and Luthori.

Itnie Zachans, Foreign Affairs wrote:It is notable that Pontesi has a chequered history when it comes to international affairs. We have built bridges - more often tunnels - where it has been justified to do so and crossed swords with many nations, perhaps in some cases under poorer judgement. Just as Gifpi before me shook hands with the Selucians many centuries ago, Gievu worked with Beiteynu before me and many other foreign ministers of a different dynasty to me have had to look into the eyes of those some within our nation did not consider friends, now it is right to look for peace. It speaks volumes of the position of Pontesi in the world, that we receive such warm words from so many nations, even those who have stared at our soldiers down the barrel of a gun under previous administrations. It speaks volumes of the lack of experience of previous administrations, that we have sought to establish our power, respect and reputation so often at the expense of the lives of others.

Soon we will finalise the details of the conference we have long promised and I apologise for the unexpected stalling, we have had to fight a local planning permission issue on the new conference centre we are in the process of building - over a flagpole a resident claims looks too phallic, a window overlooking a women's gymnasium and a concession we have to make over a local school activity group's time capsule - so we can make the reception friendlier, the accessibility better and the bar cheaper. It says a lot that local issues must be dealt with for the international concerns, so we can make international issues our local concerns.

DEBELINA, Abure - The regional office of the Pontesian Enquirer was abuzz with curious onlookers as the appearance of a gift-wrapped car suggested that another agreement on a cover-up had been arranged. Speculation of a roleplaying regional minister wanting a photograph removed surrounded the appearance of the Aburac 340SL, with the minister in question donating to a museum preserving old models of the Aburac line. The Enquirer couldn't possibly comment over the engine noise.

Democrat Party Disbanded

LERNA - After two continuous disatrous result in the general election of the Pontesian Dynastic Empire, the Democrat Party's interim leader, Anthony Gardner, had call for a meeting to discuss a future of the party which result in a decision to disband the party.

"It's clear that the Democrat Party are no longer appreciated in Pontesi. As politician, I believe that when the public no longer wishes for us to serve them then it's time to reconsider our position and we have come to a conclusion that it is time for the new beginning. We have decided to disbanded the party and allow our members to decided whether to remain in politic by joining other party or end their career." said Gardner, former Minister of Defence.

It's believe that the disatrous election result are because of the Gaduridos War, GPO nuke, and continue decline in economy under Democrat Party's leadership. It is believed that while the party had been formally disbanded, the belief is continued by the Democrat Politic Group which operate as a poltical group.

Bugged!
Bastards lose air of dignity

An unknown attendee is treated in the car park

LERNA, Xanduley - The location of the new conference centre built by the CBP has been unduly exposed, as emergency calls were placed to its location yesterday morning. Complete, but nearly six months behind schedule, the conference centre was unveiled to CBP ministers, their close staff in tow, for a private unveiling before a public ceremony. Before leaving, a couple of elder ministers suffered heart attacks with most attending succumbing to a general malaise, prompting initial fears of biological terrorism. At least 300 people, including 120 current members of government, are now in a critical condition in hospital in Lerna, with several hundred more being placed under observation in isolation. 17 people, including 12 ministers, have known to have died.

Investigations have ruled out the water supply or building materials, focussing instead on the air conditioning units, having been installed, tested and with their tanks not emptied. It is unknown how long the tanks have remained stagnant due to the building delay; contractors on the building were unavailable for comment. Legionnaire's disease has not been confirmed in any of the cases yet but is strongly suspected, with thorough medical tests under way and the building isolated as a precaution. Biological terrorism has been nigh on eliminated as a cause.

Questions surround the CBP election strategy with their elections chief in a critical condition and several support staff severely unwell. It is purported that with the return of old allies the ONCP, an early election bill will be proposed to prevent the destabilisation of the country with only six out of 400 members of the August Parliament not present at the unveiling. Indigenous rights campaigners fear the end of the Pnték revival; political commentators wonder whether the grand conference promised by the CBP will be undertaken in a different building, in the same one after decontamination or whether the party will have the organisational structure to go ahead with the promise at all. Others believe that the party may consider not standing in the next election due to the lack of organisation as a result of the mystery illness and partially in penance for their failure to deliver on the promise.

IMPERIAL RESTORATION

The voluptuous political atmosphere of Pontesi was rocked once again last night with the dissolution of the Pntek-speaking CBP government and the subsequent 399 seat majority gained by the returning One Nation Conservative Party. The end of the anti-Monarchist government has reverberated around Terra with the news that Pontesi's recent concilitory foreign affairs policies may now be replaced with the more traditional hardline Imperialist policies of the ONCP. Already General Horatio Hannockburn, the ONCP leader, has issued a writ dismissing the CBP's retraction of claims to certain territories as 'unlawful and wholly without legitimation.' Though the General has attempted to strike a more concilitory tone than his predecessors, going as far to say that he is, 'prepared to speak to the governments of Gaduridos and Beitenyu in particular about resolving the sovereignty issues that exist.'

Protectorate of Gaduridos Pioneers Honoured by Nation

The two foremost Pontesians involved in the establishment and governance of the 10 year Pontesian Protectorate over Gaduridos have recieved national honours from the August Parliament of the Cedar Throne. Percy Scott, who was installed as Viceroy of Gaduridos for the lifetime of the Protectorate, has been elevated to a Knight of the Commonwealth and as Baron of Marlowe. Archibald Fotheringhay, the Grand-Vizier General of Pontesi at the time of the establishment of the Protectorate, was awarded a Lord Guardianship of the Cedar Throne and thus becomes the Duke of Mainulay.

The honouring of both gentlemen is likely to enrage some nations within the international community who dislike Pontesi's Imperialist policies. Within Pontesi itself however, most citizens support the honours.

It will be the first time since Jonathan Carrick that Democrat Party's leader returns to this position of power.

"I am honoured that the honorable member of the August Parliament of the Cedar Throne had selected me as their Grand-Vizier General. Our time is short, but our work is many so I would like to urge the Parliament to put their different asides and work together in order to tackle many problem that is infecting our nation, whether it is the growing unrest of the Jewish population, the continue occupation of Gran Tadraki by the Jewish Homeland of Beiteynu, the nuclear wasteland resulting from an inhumane action of the GPO leaders, and the economic problem resulting from bad economic plan." he said.

Mr. Wenck then move to focus on his hope for further cooperation with Majatran on both economic and cultural issue and his hope for a creation of Migrant's Pass Free Trade Area. He also criticized the United Nation of Terra and stated that the decision of the Pontesian Dynastic Empire to join the organization which prove to be ineffective and bias is a huge factor that contribute to the attack aganist Pontesi by the GPO and the continuing occupation of Gran Tadraki by Beiteynu.

"I hope to bring Pontesi back to it's glorious day and united our land again." he finished.

Government to issues bond

The Pontesian Dynastic Empire issued a government bonds worth 2,000,000,000,000 PON to be sell only to peoples of pontesian citizenship with an interest rate of 3.5% over 10 years. While the rate is not high by banking standard, it is believe to be a success after a huge efforts make by the government to promote this selling. "Our two nation have great similarity in ethnicity, culture, language, and history and I will deal sternly with any attempts to ignore Jelbek's culture and continuous attempt of the Kennedy to proclaim himself as god of his lunatic religion.
