SOCIALISM WON?

Image
President elect Simon Arslanian speaking on the allegations of opposition to democracy

Following the election of 5301, troubling news has arrived. The Revolutionary Front of Pontesi, a left wing socialist party ranging from Social Democrats to Kaminiskists to anything in between. Winning with a voter turnout of 16%. While normally such a thing would be abhorrent and not tolerated to allow a party full electoral victory, given the circumstances of Pontesi and the lack of organized opposition, the RFP was unchallenged. Many however have raised concerns regarding if the nations democracy will be shattered or not.

President elect Simon Arslanian has however, in his inauguration speech has already claimed the party will respect the democratic process.

Now, I know there are concerns regarding the democratic process and how we will handle it and allegations that we will end democracy. I want to tackle these allegations head on. Are we going to end democracy? No we are not. This much, i vow, the Revolutionary Front of Pontesi will ensure that the democratic process will be respected and protected. In the coming days, we will see the rights of the working class expanded, and an end to their exploitation. Pontesi will experience reforms like never before. While it's uncertain what will become of the party in the future due to the nature of a revolutionary front, but I assure you, whatever the case, democracy will remain.

With the new government set to be established, many critics have already bashed the RFP for its "lack of unity" and "tolerance of anti-democratic elements". While many expect a party Congress to be held in the near future to properly unite the party, this remains to be seen how it will go and until then, most can only hope for a good outcome for Pontesi

Whatever the case, a radical shift in politics has come to Pontesi, with a renewed social policy, economic and diplomatic policy.

Nationalist Wing Expelled from the RFP

Being a Revolutionary Front, many leftist ideologies stuck together to secure electoral victory, and now that has been achieved, the RFP is looking to clean house, most especially with the Nationalist wing of the party.

Quickly being expelled from the party for cited "reactionary" beliefs, chauvinism, ultranationalism and even some accusations of fascism. With their removal from the party, the RFP has set a clear line towards Internationalism, however with the RFP-LC still standing, it remains in the air whether it shall be mutual cooperation or world revolution.

The former leader of the nationalist bloc, Datev Ishkhanian has however, spoken and stated his mind on the expelment.

These claims that we are reactionary is, quite frankly, ridiculous. I cannot express my disappointment at the party, for expelling us for simply following the beliefs of patriotism and defending national interests and disavowing internationalism in a time and age where the world is distinctly hostile to socialism. Every other wing of the party follows some form of internationalism and are naive to the truth, the world is hostile to socialism. And will be hostile to Pontesi. No matter how friendly we make ourselves. I can only express my disappointment within the party as much as I can at how they have doomed socialism in Pontesi.

Simon Arslanian was requested to make a comment on the expulsion of the Nationalist bloc from the party and fortunately, gave a statement.

Good riddance to the nationalists. Their vision of socialism would only isolate Pontesi, and devastate any chance at normalizing socialism in Majatra. Not only that, but their vision is highly, and I mean highly susceptible to falling to chauvinism, and more worryingly, even Ordosocialism. Regardless of if they have those sympathies, which I do not doubt they do, but simply by allowing the risk to exist, all of Pontesi is put at risk, socialist or not.

With this development, some hopes are in the air that this can see worries between other nations, most especially Beiteynu, be eased.

Left Communists shattered as their leader is found dead!

Alik Saroyan, de facto leader of the Left Communists within the RFP has been found dead within her home.

When noticed having been missing for a few days, party members aligning to the LC investigated her house only to discover her death. After an autopsy, it was deemed the cause of death was a stroke. Being a charismatic leader, she held the Left Communist wing together in the face of ever increasing odds. Now, however, her dream of a Left Communist Pontesi has died with her, as without her to unite the wing, the Left Communists have fundamentally shattered.

Leaders from all wings have sent their condolences to Saroyan's family, and put ideological differences aside. President Simon Arslanian was asked for a comment.

This is just awful. Outright a tragedy. While I may believe she was radical, she was still a human, still a citizen of Pontesi, like me or you. Unfortunately, she never held a place in much of the government and so, not much can be done to honour her memory besides condolences.

With her death and the Left Communists shattering due to a lack of a unifying figure, the party comes closer and closer to unifying fully, with only the Utopians, Labour, Right and Centre standing.

Mutual Cooperation?
Image

With the recent shattering of the Left Communists and the ideals of world revolution breaking apart, Simon Arslanian has made a controversial statement on the new foreign policy of Pontesi; Mutual Cooperation.

Now, i understand this may be shocking and that it will be controversial. But quite frankly, this is the best path for Pontesi, we are living in a day and age where diplomacy is the cornerstone of all nations. We should focus on mutual cooperation with capitalist nations. We need to show the world that a red Pontesi can be worked with and not foam from the mouth, chanting world revolution. The world will go to socialism when they're ready, not when we force it. To that, again, i reiterate, Pontesi will follow mutual cooperation for its foreign policy. Nothing more, nothing less. We will look to secure common ground with all nations of Terra in the name of peace and prosperity. I understand my opponents believe this may threaten socialism in Pontesi but I have to ask, if we show ourselves as friendly and cooperative, why would nations be hostile to us? We can gain allies and be protected from imperialism.

With mutual cooperation being formally adopted by the nation, hopes are high that this can further ease fears of what a Red Pontesi could do, as the nation looks further to normalize itself and work with other nations. While Arslanian has faced criticism for this controversial shift, under his administration at least, mutual cooperation is here to stay. For how long however, it remains to be seen but for now, Pontesi shall remain a cooperative nation.

Pontesi restores nuclear weapon capabilities!

The President Arman Hazarapetyan had this to say to his opponents.

Image
The revolution of our country and the reforms of our military are underway. Any country especially the communists and socialists who have the audacity to try and threaten Pontesi will be met with a response the likes of which Terra has never seen before. The people of Pontesi should have the right to decide their own future and the previous elections showed this. With this new military bill women will be banned from combative roles and biological and chemical weapons will be restored as well as the full use of land mines and UAVs. All hail! For victory! For Pontesi!

Abortion ban and death penalty to be introduced in Pontesi!

Image

The minister of justice Samvel Grigoryan made this statement to the government press:

I agree with bringing back the death penalty as crime went up due to previous government instability in Pontesi. The citizens must learn especially filthy foreigners living in Pontesi that the laws should and ought to be respected. At the same time if anyone says that abortion is a necessity or that it is 'healthcare' then clearly this shows how our society has tolerated this utter nonsense from the get go. How about women take responsibility for their own actions rather than murdering the future generations!

The Restoration Movement seeks to undo damages done in previous governments. Leader of the Restoration Movement Srabion Dermovsesian has decried that lack of government action on the practice of slavery. Dermovesesian has decried the practice as "barbaric" and "antiquated" and vows that should the Restoration Movement be returned to power that they would immediately reverse the policy. "Slavery has no place in the modern world." The leader of the Restoration Movement stated while attending a match between FC Yeghaldzor and FC Grekaladzor of the Pontesian Premier League. "The Restoration Movement must be elected to power. We must correct the dangerous and disastrous path that our nation is on." Dermovsesian has slowly begun introducing his "team" that will seek to restore Pontesi to "normal".
