Anarchy has consumed Pontesi. President Calvin Harris the ruling Progressive Party have mysteriously disappeared from the nation, and riots errupted across the country as police and the military have been unsure of what to do without leaders to guide them. Now, however, a new light has shown across Pontesi, as wealthy heiress Sophia Faye has announced that she has founded a new political movement, the Movement for Pontesi, to found a new government. Ms. Faye is the daughter of Simon Faye, a well-known businessman with a fortune of over 300 billion Luthori Pounds. The Movement has scheduled elections for later this year so that they can get to work making changes to the constitution to ensure a new government. Ms. Faye has confirmed that she is running for the office of President. Many political commentators are worried that this will just lead to the creation of another dictatorship that rises to power in the name of a restoration of democracy, but in a press conference, Ms. Faye did assure reporters that she would not establish a dictatorship "unless it is mandated by the people." Pontesian News Network commentator David Wright has disputed this, of course, saying in a monologue on his nightly show that
Sophia Faye isn't stupid. She wrote her thesis for her doctorate on political science on how dictatorships fail and how they can do better, and she's only 25 years old, which means that she has a long life in front of her. I think that this Movement deal is just a ploy for her to rise to power. Of course, I hope I am wrong, and we will have to see what "reforms" are implemented at the beginning of the new constitutional convention, but I really am skeptical of her saying that she's going to be a democratic leader.
Of course, we will have to wait and see until the convention what happens, but the Post will be there reporting on the events.
