October 5026
Haldor, Greater Kordusia - The Dorvish Ministry of Environment and Tourism released a report today citing Dorvish energy generation. According to the report, the Dorvish energy grid is largely renewable energy. The largest component comes from nuclear energy which makes up roughly 50% of power provided, the next major source comes from solar power with 37%, 5% comes from hydroelectric and the last 8% comes from largely conventional, non-renewable sources such as coal and oil. The Dorvish government has announced that they will be seeking to replace that last 8% and increase the share of hydroelectric power over the next several years. A large number of Dorvish businesses have promised investment into hydroelectric power as an alternative means.
The move comes at a time when the Dorvish government has been limiting its export of oil and natural gas, rebuilding its reserves and focusing on cornering the Artanian energy market. Representatives from the Dorvish Trade Commission have sought to potentially develop energy trade with Aloria and Kirlawa to bolster the Dorvish economy. The Dorvish economy has rebounded over the past serveral years as an active government in Haldor has drove down unemployment from 10.6% to a near constant 3.6% over the past 2 years. According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry the Dorvish labor market is comprised of people who are either seeking jobs or currently employed. According to labor statistics Dorvik has the highest numbered of employees employed by the state with 32% of all Dorvish employed being employees of the Dorvish governments at numerous levels.
