BREAKING NEWS: Dorvish authorize further action in Vorona

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - As state building and attempts at peace in Vorona have suffered over the past several years, the Dorvish government in Haldor has issued a more definitive "red line" for the National Reconciliation Council in the wake of a recent offensive that has threatened the World Congress mission in Vorona. State Chancellor Franz Mayr spoke alongside General (Fallschirmtruppe) August Undingen, the overall head of World Congress forces in Vorona in which he stated: "The recent offensive by the NRC has threatened the peace and stability of the entire island. We have made several efforts in recent years to protect the people of Vorona and protect the development of the Vorona state as a whole. We cannot accept this recent intrusion into the Republic of Vorona, the legitimate government of Vorona. I have spoke with His Majestic Highness and we have agreed to authorize Dorvish forces to perform surgical strikes against the National Reconciliation Council's forces where they threaten the Republic of Vorona. I will be discussing this with the Security Council directly but we have to either have peace through diplomacy of peace through force. We cannot allow this crisis to persist any longer than it has." Dorvish forces in the region have built up significantly since the start of the mission and have revolved around state building efforts in the Republic of Vorona, the World Congress and largely internationally recognized government of Vorona. The Republic of Vorona has remained at a tense but stable peace with the Voronan People's Militia which has largely dominated by Trigunian influence. According to reports by the Dorvish Ministry of Defense a number of Dorvish aircraft and artillery pieces have conducted surgical strikes and attacks against the Voronan National Army's in which they threaten World Congress peacekeepers.

As October elections approach, challenges to Mayr's leadership show up.

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - In the run up to the October, 5041 elections there have been a number of challenges to State Chancellor Franz Mayr's leadership. State Chancellor Mayr assumed the State Chancellery in October, 5022 succeeding the late State Chancellor Thorsten Kestenbaum and has become the first State Chancellor of the Kingdom of Dorvik following the Kingdom's restoration in October, 5031. The number of challengers has grown in the past several month as more and more "National Monarchist" have found themselves competing for the top spot in the Kingdom. A leader among them include Anton von Motha-Geyr, an official from the State Security Service who has served as an adjutant to the State Security and Defense Council; Viviane Trausch, the Oberprasident of Greater Kordusia who has stepped into the political light after a series of scandals unseated Rob Schaus, the former Oberprasident; and Friedrich Emmerich the Minister-President of Dorvan, a noted National Monarchist and a close ally of the new King and Kaiser. Anton von Motha-Geyr and Viviane Trausch are considered to be 1 and 2 respectively, however rumors have been abound that they might cooperate on a leadership election within the Dorvish Workers' Party and potentially cooperate on the selection of the next State Chancellor.

Anton von Motha-Geyr has staked his reputation on law, order and security as well as a more active role within international affairs. Viviane Trausch has held a similar line to Motha-Geyr but has stated that she believes a more domestic approach will be favorable to the Dorvish economy. Emmerich spoke on his platform which is unlikely to enrapture the rest of the DAP, mostly due to the fact that it relies heavily on restoration of old trappings from a by-gone age and increasing the authority and prominence of the Dorvish nobility, something unlikely to capture the attention of the DAP as a whole. Emmerich advocates for a more liberal approach to government in which the government functions as more of a protector compared to being active. Motha-Geyr and Trausch have both stated that the Dorvish government's activity in the day to day lives of its citizens is minimal and believe that a withdraw of any further might potentially cause issues for most Dorvish citizens. Motha-Geyr is more favorable towards the re-building of the Artanian Union whereas Trausch believes a skeptical approach to the AU is best. Emmerich believes that Dorvik should instead focus on rebuilding the Dundorfian Reich through multi-national agreements with former states of the Dundorfian Reich.

While there have been challengers announced, Mayr has not stated his intention to step down or resign but can be unseated by vote of the General Party Council (Dundorfian: Generalrat der Partei) which is responsible for the election of the Chairman (ex officio State Chancellor) and the Deputy Chairman of the party. They also have a guiding hand of in the appointment of the Chief of the State Leadership Council and the Chief of the Political Leadership Council. The State Leadership Council is responsible for matters related to province, district and municipal leadership. The Political Leadership Council is responsible for national leadership and overall policy of the party.

DAP sweeps, Motha-Geyr and Trausch seize power

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Shortly before the Dorvish general elections the General Party Council called for a leadership vote within the Dorvish Workers Party, the resulting election saw current party Chairman Franz Mayr unseated and an alliance between Anton von Motha-Geyr and Viviane Trausch pounce on the leadership. According to a press release from the DAP, Motha-Geyr secured leadership of the party and became the overall head of the DAP as Chairman whereas Trausch became Deputy Chairwoman. This effectively anointed Motha-Geyr as the new State Chancellor and Trausch as the Vice State Chancellor. Rumors of a leadership test came about in early Spring, 5040 when Motha-Geyr and Trausch began searching for support within the party and ramped up over the summer of 5040 and shortly before the October, 5042 election effectively ended Mayr's Chancellorship and left third string competitor Friedrich Emmerich without a seat at the table. The October, 4052 elections only weeks ago are a check for the Dorvish people and their leadership in the world. Motha-Geyr, the new State Chancellor, has announced wide-scale reforms to both the economy and the whole apparatus of state operations. A bevy of new faces now become deputies of the State Council, each with new visions and opinions on leadership for the Kingdom as a whole.

Motha-Geyr and Trausch, his new Vice State Chancellor have agreed to focus on their respective strengths. Motha-Geyr will have an international, security and military focus whereas Trausch with her domestic economic experience will focus on the rebuilding of Dorvik's "internal economy". The two, seen as close allies since their Spring, 5040 leadership coup, have grown even closer as they have taken the 1 and 2 spots respectively within leadership of one of the worlds leading economies. According to reports they are holding the current Council of Ministers until early fall 5042 and will replace them with their own picks and and selections. Sources close to the senior political leadership note that the Council of Ministers will ultimately have two "spheres" one being controlled by the State Chancellor and the other by the Vice State Chancellor.

Deltarian President and Dorvish State Chancellor meet in state visit

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - State Chancellor Anton von Motha-Geyr and a bevy of Dorvish officials met with a Deltarian delegation as they arrived at Rohr-Mauss International Airport in Haldor. State Chancellor Motha-Geyr and Deltarian President Ondřej Kříž took pictures and briefly spoke to the press before moving via motorcade to the State Chancellery in Altstadt, commonly known as the "Government District" where both the State Chancellor and the Deltarian President held a more formal, longer press conference to discuss the relationship between Dorvik and Deltaria, the purpose behind the state visit and the close bond between the Deltarian and Dorvish people. State Chancellor Motha-Geyr spoke about the shared ancestry between the Deltarian peoples and the Dorvish peoples as they both originated within Artania and played a pivotal role in the history of the world. The Dorvish and Deltarian delegations retreated behind closed doors to further discuss a number of topics poignant to both countries, notably the bilateral relations, the economy and global affairs. The contents of those closed door meetings were not made public immediately but the State Chancellor and several other officials made trips with the Deltarian delegation to cultural sights around Haldor, notably a friendly international match between the Dorvish and Deltarian national teams.

Nearing the end of the state visit, the State Chancellor and the Deltarian President held another press conference in which they confirmed what many political experts had believed, the two countries had agreed to further security cooperation between each other in principal. The details of which were not made immediately available, but following the Deltarian delegation's departure, were made public by both the State Chancellery and the Deltarian President's office. The press release confirmed that Dorvik had agreed to continue the free trade agreement with the Majatran Economic Association, a massive boon for both the Dorvish, Deltarian and wider Majatran economies; they also noted that they would begin defense cooperation and left the door open for potential military exercises in the future. State Chancellor Motha-Geyr welcomed cooperation with Majatran allies as there are threats within Majatra that continue to provide problems for Artania and other parts of the world, notably Ahmadi extremist. Coordinator for State Security and Defense Dr. Helene Landsteiner confirmed that the Foreign Intelligence Service and the State Security Service would enter into a partnership agreement with the Deltarian security and intelligence services to shared "common" intelligence.

Many economic commentators have welcomed the MEA-Dorvish deal as a boon to the slumping Dorvish economy. Yannik Korngold, an economist working for a think tank in Haldor, commented that the MEA-Dorvish deal might be what is needed to "jump start" a fresh new round of consumer confidence and domestic investment for the country. Dorvik's economy has traditionally relied on its state-driven foreign investments to bolster the economy when slow but as the global economy has slumped, the Dorvish economy has to look inward.

Foreign Office plots massive trade deal with Dovani Pact

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Dorvish Foreign Minister Alexander Lehrer announced that in the Fall of 5054 the Kingdom would be going on a multi-national tour in Dovani, notably visiting Kitembo and discussing a potential Dovani Pact-Kingdom of Dorvik trade pact that would focus on free trade and bolstering Dovani trade. Niels von Pölzl, Director of the Department of Dovani Affairs, announced that the Foreign Minister would make stops in Ostland, Kitembo and potentially in North Dovani where a new socialist government has come to power. The Dorvish General-Plenipotentiary to North Dovani, Yannik Haselberger, was cautious in his tone to welcome the rise of a new socialist government in the world but welcomed the development of a potentially stable government in North Dovani after many considered it to be one of the many failed states in Dovani. The Foreign Office has been alight with activity since the Deltarian President's visit and many suspect that this might truly be a new era in Dorvish foreign relations as since the visit and renewal of trade deals with the Majatran Economic Association, the Dorvish economy has jumped in growth and activity. Vice State Chancellor Viviane Trausch spoke a conference of Dorvish business and industrial leaders who have cited the re-opening of markets in Majatra have caused a boom in orders, production and Dorvish unemployment dropped 2% from 9% to 7% since the renewal of the trade deal.

Sources within the Foreign Office and the Dorvish Trade Commission have cited the potential for several million Dolgar's being earmarked for investment into Dovani economies. Kitembo and Dorvik share a close relationship as the two countries have cooperated in the past on a number of matters, Dorvik continues to be a staunch ally of Ostland and supporter of Ostland in the region. The Dorvish Trade Commission hosts an office in Ostland which is headed by Björn von Hoenigsberg, the Deputy Trade Commissioner for the East (SKdO) which covers Dovani, Temania and Vascania and remains an influential leader of Dorvish foreign policy and foreign economics in the region. It is likely that the Foreign Minister, the Director of Dovani Affairs and the Deputy Trade Commissioner for the East will arrive in Kitembo in early October, 5054 and will meet with officials from both Kitembo and the Dovani Pact to push for a trade deal.

The Kingdom welcomes new governments in Rutania and Malivia

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - State Chancellor Anton von Motha-Geyr and Foreign Minister Alexander Lehrer welcomed the arrival of a new government in Rutania over the past several months. The Dorvish State Chancellor called President Adam McIntosh to congratulate him on his party's victory in the Rutanian elections and offered whatever assistance and help that the new Rutanian government required to improve the situation in the country. "Artanian nations have always had the desire to help one another, that is what makes Artania a strong continent and a strong collection of people. The developments in Rutania are a boon for the entire continent's health and status as a whole." Representatives from the Dorvish Foreign Office were eager that the development of stable government in Rutania and the appearance of stability in Malivia would provide for a boost in economic growth that has stymied the continent. The Dorvish Trade Commission released a report in which it was critical of the economic outlook on Artania but welcomed the appearance of new governments to bolster trade, economic cooperation and the development of newer markets for established economies like Dorvik, Luthori and others. The State Chancellor also made calls to the new government in Malivia where they were likewise eager to develop new relationships with their southern neighbors. On the report of new governments in Rutania and Malivia, the Dorvish stock exchanges jumped during day trading. It is reported that the Kingdom is likely to make a stop in Rutania for a state visit shortly after the new government takes over and gains their heading in the country.

The Kingdom also commented on the ethnic conflict that has been brewing in Hulstria and Gao-Soto. The Foreign Minister stated bluntly "We are yet again monitoring another ethnic conflict in Hulstria and Gao-Soto, it appears it is another attempt to genocide the Hulstrian people in favor of forced mixing with their Kunihata counter-parts. We've contacted our partners in Dovani, namely Ostland, and are working to provide assistance where we can."

Defense diplomacy in Rutania, Security Council campaign ramps up

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Dorvish officials have continued a hardy campaign to win a seat on the World Congress' Security Council, the General-Plenipotentiary to the World Congress, Maxi Kahl has promised a renewed World Congress should the Kingdom be elected to the Security Council. The most notable element of the Dorvish campaign is the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Hulstria and Gao-Soto which the Dorvish have strongly condemned, largely to deaf ears as the crisis continues to worsen. Dorvish Foreign Office officials in Ostland have confirmed that a large number of Hulstrian have's sought refuge in the country, despite claims by the authoritarian former HGS government, Hulstrians and Gao-Showans of all classes have fled to Ostland since the crisis and the Ostlandic government has sought to support them as best as they can. The Foreign Office has mounted a vigorous campaign across the globe and has partnered with Deltaria to lead the charge for world security and prosperity, largely as a boon to both countries. Dorvik has endorsed Deltaria and visa versa, Kahl has stated that "...leadership from Deltaria and Dorvik could lead to a new era of peace and prosperity for the world. We're eager to cooperate with our partners in the World Congress to get a handle on the international situation that seems to be spiraling back out of control." General-Plenipotentiary (Ambassador) to Rutania, Walraven von Wädenssteig-Schwarzburg-Stralbrück, the titular Duke of Schwarzburg (Northern Rutania when it was apart of the Dundorfian Reich), was appointed to represent the Kingdom to the new government.

The Foreign Office has also confirmed that Inspector-General of the Armed Forces of Dorvik and Minister of Defense Generaladmiral Anton Gessner has paid a visit to Rutania and met with defense officials. The cadre of officials included representatives from across the Dorvish defense industry, notably the Artanian Defense Group which has played a major role in Dorvish defense diplomacy for decades. The Deputy Trade Commissioner for Artania, Ulrich Ratzenberger, was also involved in the trip, this is potentially a sign that the Dorvish Trade Commission will further enhance investment in Rutania and continue to develop close ties with the new government. The move was joined by the Dorvish conducting the massive, "Black Eagle" (Dundorfian: Schwarzer Adler) military exercise. "Black Eagle" is a bi-annual exercise to be carried out at times and places in accordance with the planning and operational management of the Supreme General Staff. The exercise is a multi-branch exercise and is considered to be the largest review and readiness test of the Dorvish Armed Forces, its focuses shift on a bi-annual basis and may include close allied powers if approved by the Supreme General Staff.

Is there a crisis brewing in the Dorvish Navy?

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Dorvish Navy officials have cited recent concerns with the state of the Dorvish Navy and have re-called a number of ships from active service following the "Black Eagle" exercise. The Construction and Naval Weapons Department of the Inspectorate of the Dorvish, lead by the Chief of Naval Armament, has drydocked several dozen Dorvish Navy vessels for refits and modernization. In a press release from the Supreme General Staff they stated that the South Ocean Fleet stands by on "permanent readiness" and continues to act as the "...sword and shield of the Dorvish Navy..." and is prepared for any conflict or crisis that may arise. It however cited a KMWA report that there were serious issues within the Lievenian Sea Fleet and the Verranderlijke Ocean Fleet that had to be addressed and would take several years before the fleets were returned to full service, baring any exigent circumstances. Minister of Defense and Chief of the Supreme General Staff Generaladmiral Anton Gessner welcomed the cooperation from the State Council and the Dorvish government to free up funds to support the need for immediate repairs and modernization. "The Dorvish Armed Forces are a pillar of the people in Dorvik and our brave men and women are thankful and supportive of the Dorvish government underneath State Chancellor Motha-Geyr for supporting our efforts in repairing deficiencies in the Dorvish Navy."

Sources within the Ministry of Defense and Supreme General Staff have confirmed that the defense relationship between Rutania and Dorvik have become "cozy" following a state visit in December, 5060 lead by the Minister of Defense and Inspector-General, Generaladmiral Anton Gessner. Sources within the Foreign Defense Office appear eager to have a continental partner with stability and a desire to become a partner in peace; something that the Dorvish have long lacked. Rumors were abound that Luthori might become that partner but have been dashed as continued domestic strife have driven the country to the brink of civic disorder and ever shifting governments and leadership. State Chancellor Anton von Motha-Geyr is expected to make a visit to Rutania in the coming years, but his office has noted that the Rutanian and Dorvish governments have maintained close contact since the rise of the new regime in Rutania. The Dorvish economy has certainly benefited from the increase in economic trade, the uptick of the consumer economy in Rutania as well as the general enhancement of financial businesses on the continent. Dorvik remains home to a large number of Artania's largest corporations many of which call Haldor home, it also remains home to the largest free trade area in Fairfax, on the islands of Dorvan.
