PRESIDENT ASWALTTheodore Aswalt wins the presidency and announces plans
Theodore Aswalt the TGP party president has won the presidential elections against the incumbent Marcus Neuhäusser.
It was a battle hard fought just like the previous election but this time Aswalt managed to take the presidency with valued support of the PPU.
But while Aswalt has won the presidency and his party has once again become the biggest in Paliament a big danger looms....
The security council voted in favor of sending troops to Hulstria in resolution 50. This obligates Dorvik to send 70.000 men to contribute giving Aswalt a major task in the first few days of his presidency.
The strategy of the president seems to be aggressive. He proposed a force more than twice as big as needed to be send to Hulstria in order to "quickly end this war and minimize the amount of casualties on all side's"
A young Dorvish soldier standing guard on an airbase in WestmarkDorvik seems divided on the issue of war. The president however has no choice but to send troops or he would lose prestige and support for Dorvik in the security council since resolution 50 forces member states to contribute.
While this issue continues TGP member Jako Warman commented on the Ein Dorvik party's comments on misunderstanding religious community's in the south.
The south is supporting the TGP fully. We propose what we feel is best for all of Dorvik and do include certain religious proposals to help the predominantly religious south to have more of their believes represented in decision making.
We wouldnt call that misunderstanding and the people of the south seem to agree with us on that. Although we can ofcourse not reflect every person in Dorvik we are trying our best to give the various groups in this nation a voice. All of them.
Afterwards Warman told reporters he valued the support of One Dorvik regarding the protection of southern agriculture and called for One Dorvik to join in an upcoming demonstration condeming the proposal to prevent it from happening again.
PRESIDENT'S PLANSThe president announced his plans just after the session in paliament concerning Hulstria.
As we have done for the past years we will continue to work with the DSU in government. We are very positive about both conservative and socialist policy's passed in the past year and the excellent budget that expands funding for the crucial parts of our society. This government managed to also reduce the pressure on middle income family's and ensure their financial stability. Therefor we would be happy to continue this partnership in its current form.
Other plans of me and this government will include more attention for social issues in this country and more delegation of tasks to local governments to ensure the south but also the other regions get some autonomy in our unitarian republic.
I myself now have the task of leading us into war. I know this is hard for many of you and i know i would have wanted it differently myself. But we have a obligation to the international community to stand up to the tyrants of this world. To fight for democracy for freedom and for liberty. Because that is what we have always done. We stood and still stand as a pillar of freedom and democracy in this world. Lets free millions of others to give them the same we have enjoyed for century's. Freedom. Men will die. Family's will mourn. But we have an obligation by law and by principle to fight this war and rid this world from yet another evil force. May god be with us. We will continue to fight for not only Dorvik itself, but also for the Dorvish identity in which the free world can see itself.
President Aswalt smiling when talking about the Dorvish principles during his speech. Clearly being proud of his nationA positive picture painted by the president. Many praised his speech for being hope giving and very presidential. Painting a realistic but still hopefull future for the conflict to come and the years that follow.
