The Kingdom's take on the Artanian Parliament?

Schrudehofen, Greater Kordusia - Dorvish officials welcomed the creation of the Artanian Parliament of the Artanian League as the Supreme Artanian Council voted to ratify the new "Section 3" of the Charter of the Artanian League. The new "Section 3" formally creates the Artanian Parliament, a 100 member body, this body will have the right to legislative initiative but is bound to not infringe on the sovereignty to member nations. Kajetan Reuter, the acting Secretary-General of the Artanian League and General-Plenipotentiary to the Artanian League from the Kingdom hailed the vote in early December, 4780 as a "...victory for all Artanians." The ratification of Section 3 prompted the first Artanian elections in several centuries, the Dorvish having the largest share of seats at 33, Dundorf possesses the second largest at 29. While many in Dorvik are skeptical of the Artanian Parliament and the potential infringement it might have on domestic politics, Reuter noted that the Dorvish delegation lead by veteran Social Nationalist politician Alma Ludwig, will do everything to protect Dorvish and Artanian nations sovereignty. The Social Nationalist Party agreed to be a member of the Artanian Federal Democrats, joining a historical political organization that dates back to the 24th century and served as one of the pallbearers of Pan-Artanianism; something the Dorvish have taken upon themselves to continue forward.

The former Artanian Union headquarters, which is now occupied by the Artanian League, was a buzz with extra security and protective personnel as the first Members of the Artanian Parliament arrived to the building to be sworn in. The Dorvish delegation was first to arrive and greeted their fellow MAPs as they entered into the building. A local resident noted that increased traffic was a boon for local businesses and car services. Tizian Müller, the local resident noted: "It's great to see Schrudehofen back on the map. The Artanian League has been good for us but this new parliament will be even better for local businesses!" Outside the Artanian League HQ, there were protests from citizens across the continent, many of them decrying the loss of national sovereignty, some protesting the Artanian Parliament in general. According to Dorvish Police, there were no violence at the protests and they remained peaceful. State Chancellor Volker von Pölzl welcomed the elections and ratification of Section 3 in an address to the State Council he was joined by the Foreign Minister who likewise welcomed the decision. The Dorvish delegation's leader noted that in the first instance of legislation proposed before the Artanian Parliament that she would be supporting Endralonian candidate for President, the other 32 MAPs adopt her vote and the Artanian Parliament is likely on its way to its first democratically elected President.

Economic saviors? The Artanian League, the War and the Northern Council.

Haldor, Kordusia - Dorvish economist are pleased with the sudden surge in activity within the Dorvish economy and cite that the increased efforts of the Artanian League are to be thanked. While the Artanian League has existed on paper for sometime, the Dorvish have largely been the only active members of the AL since its inception. The presence of new nations such as Endralon, Aloria and others have sparked a massive shift in the organization and the Dorvish economy can thank the increase in travel to Schrudehofen, the Artanian League's headquarters, to an improvement in the local economy but and increased trade between Northern Artanian nations. According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry the Dorvish tourism sector has increased, notably on the borders of Kirlawa and Aloria, providing a local boon for the southern economy of the nation. While the Artanian League does not have specific economic policies, the Kingdom has done its best to increase trade with its fellow Artanian nations. Aloria has seen increased exports of Dorvish cold-weather agricultural goods, Kirlawa has seen an uptick in Dorvish automobiles while Endralon, a member of the Lievenian Trade Group continues to increase trade with Dorvik as a whole in various sectors. The Dorvish have also stepped up oil exploration and drilling in the White Ocean, the northern ocean that connects Dorvik to the arctic. The Natural Resources Technical Management Corporation, commonly known as NTSV in Dundorfian, is responsible for the exploration and drilling activities, partnering with businesses and corporations from across Dorvik.

The boon not only comes from the Artanian League but the increased investment into Macon, namely Davostan as the wars rebuilding efforts continue. Dorvish investment into Dovmark and Davostan proper come at a time when the Dorvish economy was coming out of a slowdown, the war helped boost the Dorvish economy even in its short duration. Several Dorvish companies, including famed Dorvish coffee house "Coffee Days" has expanded into the Davostani market and the Makon market. The Dorvish General-Plenipotentiary to Hutori, Markus Schleiermacher posed with members of Benekials local government at the opening of the first Koffeetage in Hutori, the company plans to expand to over 100 locations throughout the country and 50 in Davostan. Benekial has proved to be a close ally and friend in recent years, notably as Kazulia and Lourennes's economies took a steep turn downward; this however might prove to be a temporary measure as the Northern Council appears to be on its way back after years of dormant sleep. Rumors are abound that the Northern Council will likely reform have also proven to be a unique change in events for the Dorvish economy and the Dorvish Trade Commission has been spotted on several occasions to trips to Eroncourt and Skalm, if the rumors are true the Northern hemisphere will be abound with trade once more.

Northern Council reformed after Benekial meeting

Benekial, Hutori - Representatives from Hutori, Kazulia, Keymon, Dolgavia, Lourenne and Dorvik met in at the Northern Council Headquarters in Benekial in a special session of the General Council. The meeting, held behind closed doors, prompted an agreement on reforming the Northern Council and creating a new treaty formally re-establishing the Northern Council Treaty Organization (NOCTO). The Northern Council was once the most powerful multinational political alliance on Terra, the Northern Council informally broke apart as threats facing the Northern Council waned and NOCTO found itself increasingly without enemies. The last exercise for NOCTO was held in 4476 and a number of its commitments from member states were neglected, largely out of lack of necessity. While the Northern Council was kept on the backburner, it served little purpose to its members. The resurgence of the Terran "Dragon" in Yingdala, combined with a new communist movement in Trigunia and an increasingly unstable Majatra, the Northern Council's former leadership called a special meeting for select membership in the NC. The Special General Council meeting held in Benekial prompted an overhaul of the organization, more requirements for membership and a new treaty to rectify issues with the old Northern Council.

The meeting concluded with the Dorvish Permanent Representative to the organization, Rüdiger Lasker be selected to become the Secretary-General of the Northern Council, the highest office within the organization. The Dorvish State Chancellor called and congratulated the new Secretary-General who released a statement about the future of the organization, he thanked all the representatives that attended and those who offered their services. He noted that Kazulia had once again taken an interested role in international affairs following economic issues domestically, but the return of Kazulia leadership to the international field was welcomed. Margareth Mortensen, a former Permanent Secretary of the Department of Defense in Kazulia will assume the mantle of Deputy Secretary-General, providing the young Secretary-General with much needed advice and counsel. Lourenne, another notable member of the Northern Council was welcomed as Marinette Beaubonne, a former economic consultant and advisor was appointed as the Chairperson of the Finance and Economic Committee. Keymon, a newcomer to full membership, will provide the Chief of the Keymon Army as the Chair of the Intelligence and Security Committee, responsible for coordinating intelligence across NOCTO members.

The NOCTO Joint Headquarters, by far the most successful multi-national defense formation to date, will be lead by Hutori's Governor-General in Davostan Field Marshal Mason Berrigan as Chief of Staff and assisted by Klementīns Auziņš, a Dolgavian Field Marshall (who will be leaving retirement) as the Deputy Chief of Staff. NOCTO Joint Headquarters held a number of annual and special exercises, including Arctic Lion, Leviathan Wedge and others that prepared the armed forces of respective nations in a number of ways. The Joint Headquarters is often considered to be one of the most successful multi-national efforts because it prompted a close cooperation between several nations, primarily Dorvik, Hutori, Lourenne and Kazulia. The Joint Headquarters also established a baseline for logistical and support operations, including shared basing rights giving the Northern Council members at the time unprecedented access to conduct operations across the globe. The return of the Joint Headquarters, notably underneath the leadership of two accomplished Field Marshals, will likely prompt a resurgence in all its respective nations armed forces capabilities.

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - The Aurorian Patriarchal Church's Archdiocese of Haldor and the Ministry of Health and Social Services have announced a partnership to tackle homelessness across Dorvik. The partnership, known as the "Blessing of Home", will launch this month and will provide funding for a number of public and private shelters, both non-religious and religious that have struggled or faced reduced funding. According to the Minister of Health and Social Services Dr. Meta Steuermann roughly 4% of the Dorvish population or 4,418,519 experience some form of homelessness; this is a 1% increase from the previous year and is likely contributed to economic downturn that the Dorvish economy suffered several years prior. The new program will be aimed at reducing the total number of homeless to roughly half of its current number, the Minister provided no timetable for the programs outcome. Bishop Justus Fleischhacker, a leading member of the Archdiocease of Haldor, will be spearheading the program with State Secretary for Social Services Hinrich Biel and Director of the Office of Housing and Homelessness Marian Krakouer. The Aurorian Patriarchal Church remains the second largest church in Dorvik behind the Independent Confessional Church of Dorvik, the largest church in Dorvik which claims to have a membership of nearly 58% of the Dorvish population. Bishop Kay Grünfeld, the head of the Independent Confessional Church of Dorvik noted the success of their homelessness outreach program "Home Salvation" was incredibly successful since the program re-launched in 4750 and that in the future the ICCD and the APC will look to cooperate on a number of issues related to homelessness.

The State Council's Committee on Health and Social Services announced that it would be conducting a number of private and public hearings on the matter of homelessness and the success of Provincial and District programs in combating homelessness. As per current Dorvish law the homelessness and reintegration projects are wholly managed by Provincial and District authorities, with cities and other administrative sub-divisions carrying out their own functions. Ranking Member of the Committee on Health and Social Services Edith Schachtschneider stated that the committee was discussing a potential change to the law. The change would bring all homelessness and reintegration projects underneath the central oversight of the Ministry of Health and Social Services's Office of Housing and Homelessness.

State Chancellor joins NOCTO Secretary-General in condemning Keymon's Pirland claim

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Dorvish State Chancellor Volker von Pölzl and Secretary-General of the Northern Council Rüdiger Lasker spoke at a joint press conference today regarding the Keymonese claims on the Likatonian territory of Pirland. The State Chancellor stated that the Keymonese government must renounce claims on a foreign territory that it had no legitimate claims on. The Foreign Ministry also requested the Keymonese Ambassador to Dorvik to the Foreign Ministry building to discuss the claims, which the Foreign Ministry condemned. "Sovereign nations are free to conduct business as they see fit but they do not absolve themselves of consequences of such actions. We strongly disagree and condemn the actions of Keymon in an illegitimate claim on the Likatonian territory of Pirland." The State Chancellor spoke regarding the Dorvish relationship with Keymon and noted that while it was indeed "strong" they did not agree with the territorial claims. The Secretary-General joined in the statement, Keymon, a Full Member of the Northern Council received an official question from the Northern Council's General Council regarding their claims on Pirland and any sort of legitimacy that they potentially had on them. The Secretary-General stated that absent of any legitimate claim, it was not something that the Northern Council could support nor would it tolerate. When questioned about any sort of "justification" for a Keymonese claim, the Secretary-General stated that the Northern Council would listen to its member state but it had no intentions of supporting the claim.

Following the press conference the State Chancellor announced that Seidenstücker AG, a major Dorvish construction company, has been contracted as apart of the "25 Step" program in Endralon. Seidenstücker is a well known roadway infrastructure and traffic engineering firm in Dorvik, they are responsible for 15% of all Dorvish Infrastructure and Transport Ministry contracts over the past 5 years. Seidenstücker didn't comment on the contract that they had been awarded in Endralon but it was reported that they would be involved in a number of large-scale construction projects.

Change to the SNP?

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - State Chancellor Volker von Pölzl announced that at a closed door session of the Supreme Council of the Social Nationalist Party radical transformation was coming to the long-time political dynasty in Dorvik. According to sources within the SNP, the the more liberal conservative wing of the SNP has ascended to dominance within the party structure. In the last election in Dorvik a number of Liberal Conservative members of the Octobrist and Free Conservative factions within the party captured notable leadership positions across the nation, including 400 members within the State Council. The leader of the Octobrist faction, Joachim Bauer, called for an alliance with the Free Conservative faction of the SNP and have captured 2 of the 5 Oberpräsident positions in Dorvik, notably in Greater Kordusia and Westmark. It is likely that that radical transformation that the State Chancellor hinted at might be coming sooner rather than later, especially if the Octobrist and the Free Conservatives can gather enough support they can call for a General Council and will likely be able to force the change of the entire party and party structure within the coming months.

Bauer to become SNP leader, State Chancellor

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Joachim Bauer, leader of the Octobrist faction in the Social Nationalist Party was announced as the new Chairman of the Social Nationalist. His appointment as Chairman, succeeding Volker von Pölzl, means he'll likely be appointed as the new State Chancellor. Bauer confirmed that in agreement with the Supreme Council that the Social Nationalist would become the Free Conservative Party. Bauer promised a "shift" in Dorvish politics but stopped short about what changes would happen. The move had the support of the aging King and Kaiser, a somewhat rubber stamp. The Social Nationalist, a staple of Dorvish politics has faced unpopularity in the polls as the Social Nationalist faction's popularity has waned and the liberal conservative factions have surged. Bauer, a grassroots conservative organizer from Miktar has popular support from several dozen organizations throughout Dorvik include strong labor and union support.

The FKP, its Dorvish acronym, will begin its transformation over the next several months and hope to complete its overhaul within that time. Bauer will likely remain as Chairman of the FKP in title, several vice or deputy chairs will be appointed, a parliamentary leader and a secretary-general in charge of administrative functions. The FKP will also form formal "province groups" for each party and will have a regional leadership structure versus pure centralization. This decentralized structure will allow for the FKP to grow more organically within Dorvik and might promot shifts in policies or political issues far than the centralized Social Nationalist Party structure.

Schrudehofen, Greater Kordusia - Alma Ludwig, the head of the Dorvish delegation to the Artanian Parliament was skeptical of the rapidly proposed "Artanian Free Market Area" by members of the Alorian delegation. Ludwig, a member of the Dorvish Free Conservative Party (formerly the Social Nationalist Party), stated that both Dorvik and the Federal Democrats from Dorvik are supportive of an Artanian free trade area but unfortunately the proposal doesn't quite meet the standards that the Kingdom would require to support. Ludwig commented outside of the Artanian Parliament that the concept of a free trade or free market area was a "...fundamentally good idea but the current proposal lacks regulatory oversight and oversight overall." Ludwig mentioned that the Artanian Union had a period of a free trade area and it was largely managed through the Supreme Artanian Council as well as the Artanian Central Bank.

Ludwig mentioned that the Kingdom was looking to make its own proposals as well as potentially an oversight board. While free trade is beneficial, the Dorvish are interested in some control over the AFTA as the Dorvish have come to call it. "We must maintain a robust economic plan, a sensible oversight and more importantly protect the sovereignty and workers of all nations." Ludwig stated that there could be interest in reforming the Artanian Central Bank, the ACB, which was formed to manage the Artanian Mark, a currency created by the Artanian Union and now defunct. The Dorvish dispersed of its last ARTs several decades prior. Underneath the Dorvish proposal the reformed Artanian Central Bank would also have some oversight over the AFTA mostly as a means to manage the interests of national governments and national economies. Ludwig also proposed that the ACB would assist in formulating a unified monetary policy for the continents central banks.
