Government Collapses, Declaration of War Rejected

The recent tensions have brought the Government of Dorvik to a complete collapse. The Volkspartei retreated from the coalition government after the Communist Party threaten to attempt and remove the Volkspartei to a coalition. The Volkspartei immediately retaliated declaring that it will not stand for this and forced its Ministers to resign from the coalition. As it currently stands the Volksrepublik Dorvik does not have a Chancellor to manage the government nor does it have several Ministers to manage different aspects of the economy and social issues. The crisis is expected to be ended with the coalition of a Liberal government between the LGP and the KPU that the Volkspartei has stated they will support for no return. The Volkspartei has also stated that it will support the Reforms the KPU and LGP are attempting to pass.

The Declaration of War on the unrecognized "Republic of Central Rutania" as been halted as Rutania has threaten war against Dorvik if they intervene as well as other states have threaten Dorvik as well. The Volkspartei after resigning from government have voted against the war against Central Rutania and the President refused to sign the document as have the Communist Party. The deployment of men has been halted as well.

Dorvish Crisis Deepens

The Crisis has just recently been deepend with a strong amount of conflict between the past coalition parties, the Volkspartei and the Communist Party. The crisis "Has only been worsened by the unfortunate disestablishment of the Communist Party for the present time" said the Volkspartei Leader, Jakob Reden, Ex-Chancellor. The Volkspartei in a deep state of shock has reported - feeling guilty for the disestablishment of the Communist Party after the party leaders exchanged reportedly violent words and so did other members. A large scale conflict is believed to have happened between the parties but the Volkspartei refuses to allow the talks between the parties to be opened to the public saying "They do not matter anymore anyhow. The Patriotic and good-willing Communist Party is no longer with us." The crisis remains as Dorvik has completely no valid government, while the KPU argues that it should form a coalition government with the LGP the Volkspartei argues early elections should be called to fill in the representatives which the Communist Party used to hold before its fall apart and almost all its members leaving politics or joining the Volkspartei. The Volkspartei has already submitted a bill into the smaller legislature for early elections arguing that the representation should be filled and then coalition governments should be negotiated to be established. The President although belonging to the Volkspartei has opted to remain neutral in the conflict between parties but has stated that he will intervene if need be for "The good and welfare of the Dorvish peoples".

Early Elections Pass, Results In

After a couple heated debates on how the Dorvish parties should attempt to continue the chain of government it has been clear that there is none. The Volkspartei effectively convinced the KPU and LGP to call early elections and the votes on the bill were in, not one member of the Volkskammer voted against and the Volkskammer dissolve itself, and called for early elections for the President as well. The Volkspartei did not hide its excitement on how the elections would progress, and a month later the results of the elections were counted and they finally decided who would rule Dorvik for the next 5 years.

The results are as following:

The election for the office of Präsident der Volksrepublik;

Diedrich Jaschke, Volkspartei, 52.32% of Votes
Jonas Buderus, Liberalen Grüne Partei, 47.68% of Votes

The elections were won by Diedrich Jaschke of the Volkspartei. Diedrich Jaschke has been elected for another term to after serving only for 2 years as President. He is expected to serve for 5 more.

Legislative elections have been held for the Volkskammer der Dorvik in the Volksrepublik Dorvik. There were 245,612,866 people with suffrage. A total of 213,373,413 votes have been cast, putting turnout at a magnificent 86.87%. There were 500 seats up for grabs.

Volkspartei, 231 Seats, 46.13% of Votes
Liberalen Grüne Partei, 190 Seats, 37.88% of Votes
Katholische Politische Union, 79 Seats, 15.91% of Votes
Dorvik Volkspartei (DVP), 0 Seats, 0.08% of Votes

It has been clear that the Volkspartei is currently the most influential party in the Volkskammer but as its leader deemed it "hopeless" due to the inevitable coalition between the LGP and the KPU in order to lock the Volkspartei out of government. The Volkspartei leader, Jakob Reden has expressed that he is "Very happy with the results that have presented, although we hoped to gain all the seats of disbanded Communist Party, this did not happen and it is unfortunate. We still though, have our President and still remain as the most popular party in Dorvik and it is important to remember that. We must wait for another day, another election and let the people decide once again.".

The KPU and LGP have still not negotiated a coalition and therefore Dorvik is constantly left without a government for the last 3 months continuously. The Volkspartei has not hidden its anger at the KPU and the LGP stating that "If the ought to do it anyhow, why not do it quicker? It is important for Dorvik to have a government. Any kind of government but a government in order to allow for progress in internal affairs."

New General Secretary Lothar Faust giving a speech to supporters of the KPD.

CPD National HQ, Vinisk - Newly announced General Secretary Lothar Faust stood addressing supporters of the KPD outside the national HQ of the KPD. His speech was "...invigorating and filled with fire..." one onlooker stated, many people had seen the KPD as the bastion of keeping Dorvik safe and their dissolution was only met with distraught amongst it's supporters. In a mailing sent out in the wake of their dissolution, the KPD promised a return and promised to be more invigorated and involved in the affairs of the nation without becoming distracted by politics and bickering amongst the parties. Lothar Faust was also quick to praise the Volkspartei for their efforts in liberalization, however Lothar noted that he wishes that they would refrain from anything major until they've had the chance to speak.

Dorvish Government Restored, Debates Begin

The Dorvish government has been restored as the KPU and the LGP came to an agreement on the coalition and positions they will be holding. The coalition passed on February 27, 3108 effectively restoring Dorvik's government. The Volkspartei as the opposition is not happy with the current government saying that "They gained majority in an early election, now they're going to change Dorvik into a Capitalistic bedlam, liberalize social issues, and completely destroy the country." - Jakob Reden, Volkspartei Leader, Ex-Chancellor (Kanzler). It is indeed true that the new government has decided to liberalize the country, and change it in means of capitalism which statistics show has never worked for Dorvik. The Volkspartei has declared that they will make their return and ensure that "Dorvik's proper economy is restored and that Dorvik once again becomes the utopia so many Volkspartei voters hope won't be ruined in the next months and years". It is yet unclear whether the new majority will actually swing completely from Socialism to Capitalism but the Volkspartei and Communist Party fear this as so.

Debates have begun on the changing of the national flag and the national anthem of Dorvik. The Volkspartei has expressed that it inadequtely displays the nations culture with wrong coloration and style. The Communist Party as well as the KPU have expressed their willingness and it is believed that talks on the national anthem may be concluded firstly.

Kommunistische Partei Dorvik breaks tie with Volkspartei.
CPD National HQ, Vinisk - First Secretary Tyrus Petrov in a brief announcement to supporters of the KPD and watchers have officially stated that all ties with the Volkspartei are officially severed, Tyrus Petrov stated the the Volkspartei has done nothing but attempt to grab power for themselves and has forgotten the people who have put them in the very office that they hold. Tyrus was quoted as saying: "The day the Volkspartei dissolves will be a day for celebration and happiness in Dorvik, they call themselves the People's Party but they do everything to hold power for themselves." Over the past few days the partys have split amongst a row involving Rutania.

Kommunistische Partei Dorvik seeks political unity with the LGP & KPU.
Image
Politicians from the KPD, LGP and the KPU discuss in the Volkskammer.

Dorvish AP - The Kommunistische Partei Dorvik has sought out the leaders of the Katholische Politische Union and Liberalen Grüne Partei to call for "...political unity in these tough times." First Secretary Tyrus Petrov and Deputy General Secretary Odacer von Vinisk have met with the leader of the Katholische Politische Union to discuss a possible coalition or sense of cooperation with each other. Tyrus and Odacer plan to meet with leaders of the LGP later this month or sometime this year. Recently the fallout between the Volkspartei and the Kommunistische Partei Dorvik has lead to the collapse of the government and the rise of the LGP-KPU coalition which has taken the cabinet and a large swathe of votes in the Volkskammer. The re-founded Kommunistische Partei Dorvik has yet to gain any seat but hopes with their new reforms to help spur the economy that people will return their votes to them instead of the Volkspartei. In other news, the KPD also plans to meet with the Communist Party of Jakania to discuss possible relations between the two parties.

Volkspartei Retaliates, Reforms Sent to Vote

Between the rough words exchanged between the leaders, and the official break of ties the Volkspartei has retaliated in its cause against the Communist Party. "They argue we want to hold power, of course we do. Every political party would like to hold power to set the nation in their course of ideology." The Communist Party itself stated that it was a "good idea" for the Volkspartei to attempt and hold power as long as possible according to the statement of one Communist Party representative: "Mr. Speaker, Allowing us to "liberalize" the government will only send us further down to decline, former Volkspartei members were correct in attempting to hold onto power, we are a popularly elected government, allowing elections constantly leads to corruption and power mongering without a need for helping the people."

The riff between the parties will most likely not end in happiness again mentioned the Volkspartei leader; "The Communist party has been taken over by fools, they must learn that politics are politics and simply because something does not go as they please does not mean their whining session is allowed for." - Jakob Reden, Ex-Chancellor.

Reforms have just recently been sent to vote on allow for a larger section of capitalism in the Dorvish economy. The Volkspartei mentioned that it is 'hopeless against the situation that is happening in the Volkskammer but not having majority we can just sit, watch and vote no."

New LDP-KPU government restores Dorvik to stability

After years of political turmoil and bouts of legislative extremism, Dorvik is returning to normality as a government takes power led by the Liberalen Grune Partei and Katholische Politische Union. "We are disappointed to have emerged as the smallest of the three parties, taking only 79 of the 500 seats," said KPU leader Tomas Neumann, "but what matters is what the electorate have voted for - which is a rejection of the previous government." Despite his party's small size, Neumann can boast having secured 6 of the Cabinet's 13 position, giving the KPU real clout in the new administration. "Already we are making a difference," said Neumann, "Religious laws have been liberalised, the army has been reformed along more ethical lines and we are taking steps to restructure our monolithic socialist economy."
