DORVISH STRIKE GROUP TO CONDUCT SMALL SCALE NAVAL EXERCISE IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS
The Dorvish strike group originally intended for naval strike support in Davostan has halted in international waters near the nation and proceeded to launch small scale exercises

It seems that a direct confrontation between Dorvik and Davostan has been averted. As the dorvish strike group that had initially intended to strike at targets of the davostani government has been ordered by the new president Reinnman to halt just outside territorial waters and inside international ones. Instead of naval strikes being launched at the nation of Davostan the president ordered small scale exercise to take place. After 2 days of exercises the strike group headed to Dorvish port once more and were immediately send to the shipyards for their refit and repair programs.

While a direct confrontation has been averted tensions between Davostan and Dorvik remain high and president Reinnman is according to his aides presumably ready to form a coalition with other nations in the region to put economic pressure on the dictatorial nation. Meanwhile the 150 billion program to repair, restructure and refit the armed forces is in full swing with the 3 dorvish carriers in the fleet already nearing completion of their repairs and refits with all of them getting new radar and defense systems as well as several engine improvements. Other ships are also near completion and the armed forces have slowly begun the program to get the airforce repaired and reffitted.

Partyleader Louise Schmidt Heavily criticised

Mrs. Schmidt promised to resign if the next election results don't improve



The half-term national convention of the SLL was held in Haldor. It took place from the 10.09.4503 to the 13.09.4503. Notable topics where the poor election result and declining amount of seats in the Bundesrat and Louise Schmidt leadership, the role of the SLL in the Bundesrat and Dorviks stance in the Kivonian Civil War.

A big portion of the party wanted Schmidt to resign based on bad poll results and the poor performance in the last election, that already led to the resignation of Marie (Marie von Limben) after her 16 year long party leadership. Louise Schmidt is a bedrock in the SLL being a major member of the SLL since the founding of the SLL 27 years ago. She was the minister for infrastructure and transport (EDIT: and President for one term) in the grand coalition of FP(back then HDP), Solidarität and the SLL.

There where two major opponents of Schmidt for the party leadership. Richard Brandt from the Sozial-democrat wing and Helmut Parker from the Liberal wing of the party. The party is getting polarised and therefore the party father 79 year old Georg Heinrich Herrmann visited and held a speach emphasising the importance of unity in the party to defend the republic. He was the major founder of the party, cooperatied with Solidarität and later the HDP(now FP) and managed to oust the Communist dictatorship.

Brandt supports a move left to GZ and Solidarität. He is from Luckelstein a city in Northern Largonia. He is 22 years old and leader of the SLL youth organisation. He just finished his Pharmacy studies. He is supportive of military intervention in countries as long as Dorvik gains from them and there is a comprehensive plan, what to do in the places, so that it doesn't become a failing state later on.
Parker rather supports the current stance leaning to FP and DKP, but as well considers opposition, depending on the circumstances. He is a local marketing businessman from Dorvan, 29 years old and he focus is to avert the looming recession in Dorvik he is leaning opposed to military intervention in other countries and sais Dorvik should currently be focused on its self.

Louise Schmidt however still has a lot respect and trust inside of the party, and managed to convince them to let her carry on the party leadership by promising to resign if the next election results wouldn't improve.

NAVY FULLY REPAIRED AND OPERATIONAL ONCE MORE, RRR PROGRAM FOR AIRFORCE IN FULL SWING
As the Dorvish navy enters the last stages of the RRR program the airforce is fully committing to the project as well

After nearly 2 years of constant reconstruction, repair and calculation the dorvish navy is entering the final stages of their Repair, Restructure and Refit program. The total program for the navy has costed a astounding 70 billion LOD with the remaining 80 billion of the budget reserved for both the airforce and ground forces and their own RRR programs. With the navy nearly fully operational again the airforce is now starting its massive RRR project. The entire arsenal will be put out of action with the exception of several older aircraft that are tasked with defending Dorvish airspace until the Airforce is operational again. According to the ministry of defense and the Inspector General of the armed forces the RRR program for the airforce will take less long then the similar program for the navy with 1 year being the estimate. The program for the airforce will also be significantly less expensive with the estimated cost being put on 30 billion LOD. The remnant of the budget will be used for the ground forces which have already made preparations regarding their own RRR project.

Overall the entire program is scheduled to be finished in the second year of the next term.

Louise Schmidt resigns from SLL leadership

Social-democrat Richard Brandt and Liberal Helmut Parker are the main contenders to her post


Louise Schmidt announced today in a press conference that she would resing, as the election results of 4504 didn't improve. Currently Brandt and Parker are campaigning, to be elected as the next party leader. Both of them are in their twenties, quite young. Many consider this to be the end of the old guard in the party, and an inside renewal. Georg Heinrich Herrmann founder of the SLL endorsed Brandt, but also said that a responsible financial policy is important for Dorvik. He also condemned the polarised state of the party and called for party unity.

The SLL held a national convention in Oppenbruck the capital of Miktar. It lasted from the 29.08 to the 30.09.4504. The major event was the election of the new party leader. By now Parker was the underdog, as it was a tight race, and Georg Heinrich Herrmann endorsed Brandt, but he managed to win anyway. Many now expect him to make a move to incorporate the left of the party to a centrist liberal party.

Kautz Out as Solidarität Agrees to Grand Coalition

KÜSSINGEN, WESTMARK- Following Solidarität's seat losses in the 4604 early elections (for which the party had been a major advocate following constitutional reforms), former Finance Minister and Solidarität's party leader Florian Kautz was on thin ice. He himself had polled six out of seven presidential candidates, only netting roughly 7.7% of the first round vote (under-performing the national seat-share of 8%). When the Dorvish Konservative Partei (DKP) announced it would be seeking an anti-communist grand coalition, Kautz's first instinct was the reject the offer and instead force a general election.

However, the younger generation of Solidarität members, led by a union organizer and former governor from Westmark Stephen Mandel. Mandel, alongside many of the affiliated unions of Solidarität, began to circulate a petition to hold an early party convention to discuss the possibility of entering the government. After gathering the required signatures - over the objection of Kautz and the left-wing of the party - an early convention was held in Küssingen, Westmark.

In a heated debate, the party membership (with the largest delegation being from Westmark) decided that it was party policy to join the governing coalition. This decisive blow against Florian Kautz's leadership of the party, and Kautz decided to resign saying, "I must respect the will of the party membership, and it is clear that they have decided to take a different direction. With that, I am standing aside as leader of Solidarität effective immediately."

This resignation had the effect of leading the delegation in Küssingen to vote upon the next national leader. In the ensuing vote, Stephen Mandel was elected party leader, building upon his local popularity and network of support which called the convention in the first place. Mandel, who has never served in a national office, is now tasked with entering the grand coalition and is likely to serve as Justice Minister.

RRR PROGRAM FOR AIRFORCE COMPLETE, GROUNDFORCE RRR PROGRAM IN FULL SWING
After a little more then a year the RRR program for the airforce has been completed and the groundforce is now being fully Restructured Repaired and Refitted

With the president now as the executive and another election victory for the DKP party Reinmann was in the perfect position to continue his policies. As no formal government has yet been formed Reinmann has used his mandate as executive to continue the programs of the previous government. The program to restore the former Dorvish armed forces to its former glory. As the navy and airforce are now once again at full strength and have even been improved in some aspects the Inspector General in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense has now ordered the RRR program for the ground forces to start. This program is one of the hardest in terms of the restructuring as the entire logistical and tactical layout of the armed forces has to be changed with the former collective leadership implemented by the communist government to be totally thrown out and a divisional and professional system to take its place the Ministry of Defense will have to work extra hours to change the system.
In addition to this all the equipment of the ground forces will also be checked, repaired and improved where it must and can to ensure that the dorvish armed forces are once again at full strength.

In a TV interview president Reinmann made it clear that upon the conclusion of the RRR programs he will reveal a grand economic program aimed at bringing back growth to the Dorvish economy which has been extremely stagnant in recent years. He also pledged that he will do everything possible to introduce a true government to the country and is currently in talks with leaders of Solidarity and the Greens in forming a grand coalition.

TOTAL CHAOS! This day will be one of the darkest days in dorvish history. Many hoped to see an end to the violence following the fall of the communist regime but just years since the creation of the Federal Republic and the true restoration of democracy the nation is stunned by a devastating attack that will forever leave a mark on the Dorvish nation. Early in the morning on what looked like a normal day 4 bombs exploded in Haldor Central Station, the hub for all public transport in the city. Almost simultaneously another bomb exploded near the presidential palace and a final bomb would explode on Haldor Central square, crippling the statue of the square. In the initial explosions at Central Station around 119 people died with another 243 wounded. The bomb near the presidential palace luckily didn't kill anyone but the bomb at Central Square killed another 52 people with 21 of them killed by the central square statue as it came tumbling down and another 175 people wounded.

But, just 8 minutes after the bombings and authorities scrambling to help the victims, the presumably second stage of the attack commenced as 5 masked armed men excited a van near Haldor International Airport and, with their assault rifles, opened fire on the crowd outside of the airport. The 5 men continued their way into the main hall and up to the first terminals killing dozens of travelers as they moved further into the airport. Only halfway down the airport were authorities able to neutralize all 5 men after losing 2 armed officers themselves. Over 156 people died in the airport shooting which lasted over 32 minutes with countless more wounded.

In total over 327 people have been confirmed dead excluding officers and the airport shooters. The number of deaths is likely to rise as countless more have been mortally wounded in the devastating attack. And while the attacks seem over the city of Haldor and even the government are still in a state of panic as they scramble to get a sense of the situation and provide the care for the victims that need it. A national emergency number has been launched for citizens in Haldor to call so that their family knows they are safe. Reports also suggest that in this airport shooting Richard Brandt, social democratic member of the SLL, was shot dead after arriving at the airport following a worktrip.

According to the presidential office there is no clear perpetrator in sight as of yet. Security Services are hard at work to find out who launched this terrorist act against the people of Dorvik but only have minor clues at their disposal as of now. According to a insider in the government the nationality of at least two of the shooters was Suyu Llaqtan making the suspicions towards this nation grow. A possible motive for the attack could be the attackers hate towards the ruling DKP party, seeing the party as to right wing and conservative.

The SLL held a press conference on the 11th of February, two days after the red monday terrorist attacks, as the party leader had to return quickly from a family visit in Dorvan. Partyleader Helmut Parker, Ex-partyleaders Georg Heinrich Herrmann and Louise Schmidt and Anne Nürner and Herrmann Steiner representing the left and right wing of the party.

First of all we, I think I can speak in the name of my party and the majority of the population, would like to say, that we deeply condemn the attacks, especially against uninvolved civilians. We also deeply mourn the death of Richard Brandt and all the casualties of the attack. We send our condolences to all the families and friends of the victims of the attacks. You now have the word.
