Deltaria Sails...was it worth it?
March, 4791

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - The Dorvish Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially condemned the Deltarian naval action as a "...provocative action..." when the Deltarian Naval Strike Group sailed through international water near Dorvik. While the Foreign Ministry condemned the obviously provocative action the State Chancellor and the Ministry of Defense were far more aloof. Recently appointed Minister of Defense Colonel-General (Army) Erich Hochheim stated: "Deltaria is welcome to conduct navigation in international waters. Dorvik has welcomed it and has arduously defended freedom if navigation acts. While the international waters near Dorvik have never been subjected to closure or any sort of "blockade" such as Delataria's allies we ultimately respect international law." The Ministry of Defense did not comment on what or if any procedures tracked the Deltaria Navy's movements but the Minister of Defense offered a sly remark that the Dorvish Armed Forces were more than capable of tracking and potentially neutralizing the threat.

When asked if the Dorvish would respond the Minister replied with a relatively simple response. "Should we sail our three carriers past Deltaria to prove we have global reach? I think thats a waste of time and resources. Deltaria is clearly trying to pound its chest and trying to "pad the stats" so to speak when it comes to international affairs. The Dorvish Armed Forces clearly have global reach and thats isnt a secret. We do however thank the Deltarian Navy for providing valuable intelligence on its fleet operations. Thats always good to have." The State Chancellery echoed the comments from the Ministry of Defense and otherwise ignored the subject. State Chancellor Bauer noted that the Foreign Minister wished to discuss with the Deltarian Ambassaddor the need for a provacative action such as that but did not openly condemn the action. The State Chancellor jokingly added that he hoped the Deltarians were prepared for the harsh frozen water that they likely encountered and the bitter weather.

Dorvik, among other Northern nations, are vastly adapted to the cold weather climates. The Dorvish have long explored and developed technologies and techniques for navigating the rough frozen climate to their north. Some of the first explorers of the Arctic were Dundorfian, largely Dorvish, who assisted in the cartographic exploration or the Arctic.

Dorvish Sea Power: Another Kaiser?
May 4794

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Dorvish Ministry of Defense officials confirm that the Dorvish Navy has approached Lievlandseewerke on the construction of a third Kaiser-class aircraft carrier. According to sources within the Supreme General Staff, the Dorvish have sought greater projection capabilities across the globe by adding a third nuclear-powered supercarrier to the fleet. The Dorvish Navy currently possesses 2 Kaiser-class aircraft carriers, the DNS König und Kaiser Ludwig and the DNS Heike Grossberg, they are attached to the South Ocean Fleet and the Lievenian Sea Fleet respectively. The third proposed carrier would provide the Verranderlijke Ocean Fleet, the fleet primarily assigned to Artanian naval operations and has generally acted as a "support" fleet to the Dorvish Navy's primary fleets. In testimonies before the State Council Committee on Foreign Policy and the Committee on Intelligence, Security and Public Order the commanding officer of the Dorvish Navy, Admiral Konstantin Vahlen, testified that the Dorvish must continue to assert its pragmatic foreign policy into world affairs. He commented on the sudden shock of losing Permanent Member status in the Security Council as a concern for Dorvish foreign policy and that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must continue to bolster their efforts around the globe. He chided the Security Council's decision to remove permanent member status, he noted that the concern that the Security Council could become ineffective without the permanent members and that it threatened the recent develops and activity of the World Congress as a whole.

When pressed by Free Conservative chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy, Kajetan Wächter, the Admiral noted that the outbreak of crisis around the globe could test the Security Council in several ways. He noted that the collective failure on the Security Council's response to the the situation in Bijanie highlighted the failures of the organization and he believes that the lack of permanent members could further exacerbate the problem. Ranking member Seraphina Husch, a noted hawk within the Free Conservatives, mentioned that nations such as Vanuku, Deltaria and others could potentially gain permanent member status just the same. The Admiral noted that but stated: "I would rather have Deltaria and Vanuku as Permanent Members as they have an understanding of the complex world order that we live in. They understand that the Security Council serves a purpose to protect the world order that was already fractured with the collapse of several nations, the lack of action in Bianjie and fundamental issues facing the World Congress as a whole." The Admiral responded to several more questions related to Dorvish sea power and naval projection, he welcomed the Dorvish governments decision to fund the purchase of new submarines and noted that they should continue to work on building the submarine force in Dorvik as it provided the Dorvish a means to conduct world-wide operations.

The approval of the new Kaiser-class is expected to take several years and cost the Dorvish government several billion Dolgars.

BREAKING NEWS: Bauer out as State Chancellor, Rühl steps in.
May, 4797

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - State Chancellor Joachim Bauer's State Chancellery has been marred by internal political fallout from the dissolution of the Social Nationalist Party, the first multi-party elections in Dorvik and more importantly the building of a new political scene in the Kingdom. Bauer, seen as a ray of hope following the collapse of the Social Nationalist announced that he would be resigning in favor of the current Minister of Trade and Industry, Paulus von Rühl. Rühl, a veteran economist, has been announced after an internal party election which was conducted in a rather unceremonious fashion. Deputy Chairman of the FKP Tizian von Spies, will assume the mantle of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as he previously served as the State Secretary of Foreign Affairs before becoming a leading member of the Free Conservative Party. The new State Chancellor spoke at a party conference in private before speaking publicly next to the outgoing State Chancellor in Staatsplatz regarding the future of the Kingdom. The speech, held in the morning hours, was joined by a crowd of several thousand. The new State Chancellor spoke regarding the on-going domestic situation in Dorvik, he confirmed that Rohr-Mauss International Airport would be expanding a new terminal, a major capital project, in conjunction with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. The terminal will belong to a merger of Artanian Cargo Airlines (Dundorfian: Artanischen Frachtfluggesellschaften) and North Eastern Cargo (Dundorfian: Nordöstliche Fracht) which became Northern Cargo (Dundorfian: Nördliche Fracht). The merger of the two airlines has formed the basis for a significant market share in Artania and could potentially capture a significant market share in the world's competitive cargo airlines.

The State Chancellor promised a return to the pragmatic foreign policy underneath the new Foreign Minister. The collapse of the briefly returned Northern Council was cited as "...failure of diplomatic efforts by the Kingdom and we must correct our failures. We will do better, we have to." The State Chancellor also noted that the third Kaiser-class aircraft carrier is progressing "significantly" and is on schedule to be completed by 4800 according to members of the Ministry of Defense and Supreme General Staff. The State Chancellor reported that the bi-annual exercise known as Black Eagle (Dundorfian: Schwarzer Adler) which was brought together by Defense Ministry and Inspector-General Colonel-General (Panzer) Erich Hochheim to replace several other exercises. Despite the lull in the "action" for the Kingdom, the Dorvish remained committed to their investments abroad but in a radically surprising move, the State Chancellor announced that close of the Joint Base on the island of Kamphon in Ostland. The closure of the base will certainly reduce Dorvish influence in Ostland and in Dovani but the State Chancellor cited discussions with the State Minister in Ostland as well as dialogue between the King and Kaiser and the Grand Duke in Ostland. Forces in Ostland will continue to maintain training and joint operations on an annual basis but the closure of the joint base will permit the Dorvish forces assigned there to return home.

A bevy of other notable legislation was put on the table, perhaps the most prominent being the total withdrawal from the Northern Council. Is this the State Chancellor that leads the Kingdom into the new era?

New high-speed railway life in Dorvik
May, 4797

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Thaddäus Friedrich, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, announced the development of a new high-speed rail project to begin in January, 4798 with the Dorvish State Railways. Friedrich, a railway engineer who served as Chief Technical Officer for the Dorvish State Railways announced the project, the first of its kind in Dorvik following the announcement of the new State Chancellor. The announcement comes at a time when the Dorvish are seeking to explore the Kingdom's own path through domestic and foreign affairs away from "traditional" partnerships and allies that have collapsed over the past several years. In a press release and subsequent press briefing the Infrastructure and Transport Minister noted that the trains, known commonly as "bullet trains" would travel at speeds in excess of 160 miles per hour and would first be constructed in the "Capital Province Project" (Dundorfian: Hauptstadtprovinz Projekt) which would connect Haldor, Vilnau, Largonia's provincial capital of Schwarzenbüren and Miktar's provincial capital of Königheim. A similar project will be started in both Westmark and Dorvan following the completion of the mainland project as a part of the second stage of the wider High-speed Railway Project (Dundorfian: Hochgeschwindigkeitsbahnprojekt) that received its approval from the State Chancellery and the State Council's Committee on Industry and Industrial Development. The first phase of the project, expected to cost roughly 15b Dorvish Dolgars ($2,743,500,000 LOD) will further expand to roughly 20 to 25b Dolgars when the project reaches into its second and third phases.

The Dorvish Development Bank, funds assigned to the State Capital Fund and the Dorvish State Railways own Project Development Fund will be used to cover the expenses of the project. Several existing railway lines are underneath consideration for updating versus total replacement, it is likely that if they are able to be replaced, they will and it will conserve money for the project. The entire project is expected to take 10 to 25 years to complete according to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. The plan is to connect cities across the nation, both mainland and the islands of Dorvik with high-speed rail approaching nearly 200 miles per hour. When asked about the project, the Infrastructure and Transport Minister noted that the Dorvish had one of the worlds largest railway systems and had centuries of experience with railways. The undertaking it largely at the urging of the Dorvish State Railways in a means to "modernize" their infrastructure, the project also received the support of several green groups who saw it as a means to reduce private vehicle traffic across Dorvik. Several prominent green groups in Dorvik and Artania have praised Dorvik for its return to what they call "Green Development" in a number of sectors. Former Haldor Mayor Nina Krampitz initiated a project in Haldor to provide nearly free transportation in the city's subways and public transportation sectors, notably in the city's buses. The project was hailed as an economic victory by the Social Nationalist and a number of green groups supported the project, a win for all in Haldor. The program has carried out underneath new Mayor Adelger Lippert who has increased the scope of project and provided an increase to incentivize public transport.

The project also saw a notable increase in Haldor's municipal police funding to provide additional security and police presence to subway, railway and bus terminals. A move that was supported by the cities local Interior Office and the provincial Ministry of the Interior.

Dorvish FM in Valruzia for Republic celebration, trade talks
October, 4797

Dorvish and Valruzian officials attending a memorial for those who have sacrificed for the Republic and Valruzia.

Nowogard, Valruzia - Dorvish Vice State Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tizian von Spies landed in Nowogard in October, 4797 to discuss bilateral ties between the two nations. The selection of the date coincided with the Republic of Valruzia's establishment anniversary and the Vice State Chancellor made a brief speech on the tarmac regarding the foundation of the Republic of Valruzia. "We are fortunate to be here to celebrate the anniversary of the Republic of Valruzia, a nation that rose from the ashes to become a prominent political player in regional and international politics. We are fortunate that the Valruzian's have continued strong traditions of democracy that many of us hold near and dear to our hearts. We will enjoy the celebrations but we will also do the work that we came here to do!" The Vice State Chancellor, whose primary role is that of Minister of Foreign Affairs, was seen in the company of Michal Prajsner, the Prime Minister of Valruzia and Albert Vaughn-Rosta the Minister of Foreign Affairs before leaving in a motorcade to head to the government offices where they would be conducting a series of talks. A number of Dorvish officials were involved in the trip, notably members Dorvish Defense Export, the public-private venture which serves as the arms control board for the Kingdom. A number of Dorvish military officers were also spotted, the most notable being the State Secretary of Defense Major General (Airborne) Erwin Outman who generally serves as the representative of the Minister of Defense and head of the Dorvish Armed Forces when hes unavailable.

The major economic players include Dorvish Trade Commissioner Jörn Magnus von Desidier, Vice President for International Development of the State Bank of Dorvik Genoveva Heilbronner and Walther Dahmen, the Minister of Trade and Industry as well as a number of mid-ranking functionaries and officials to assist in the talks. Rumors swirling around the talks include the development of increased free trade between Valruzia and Dorvik, the increase of programs aimed to assisting Valruzian and Dorvish businesses in each others countries, the development of joint security, intelligence and military programs as well as others. The meetings which took place over four days was considered productive by all parties and will look to solidify relations in the coming months. One major development however was the announcement that the Dorvish Defense Export had approved the sale of 40 Block 3 Unionfighters and the sale of 30 ADG Tornado aircraft, a multi-million Lodamese Dollar deal that will surely bolster the capabilities of the Valruzian Armed Forces when it comes to air superiority in the region. Insiders to the talks suggest that the Valruzian and Dorvish governments are seeking to enhance their relation and potentially build a future together after years of tense relations. Rebekka Bennewitz, a member of the Dorvish embassy staff and trade specialist, was asked about the relations between the two governments and she noted: "Since the return of the Republic of Valruzia and stability, the two nations have begun developing cordial ties once again and as we can see here this is something for the future, the future of both peoples. We're very happy to see this."

Economist believe that trade deals and the development of deeper economic ties between Valruzia and Dorvik could be worth several billion Lodamese dollars annually. Dorvik has further sought to expand its financial and economic sectors, notably in the banking services sector. Dorvish banks such as Artanian Bank, Bank of Dorvik, Reichsbank and the Dorvish Development Bank are all seeking entrance into the Valruzian market. The Dorvish are also eager to capitalized on construction and development projects in Valruzia.

FM lambasts Endralon's efforts in SC
November 4800

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Foreign Minister Tizian von Spies condemned the Endralonian delegation to the World Congress in a blistering report on the status of the World Congress to members of the State Council. The Foreign Minister speaking before the Committee on Foreign Policy, noted that two proposed resolutions from the Endralonian delegation continued to undermine the world order, notably the condemnationof the Aurorian Patriarchal Church. The context of the proposed resolution was considered to be "...offensive and anti-religious." to which the Foreign Minister stated that the Kingdom of Dorvik believed in religious freedom for all but also noted that the APC was it's own entity and the sovereign actions of Selucia were, likewise, their own. The condemnation of the APC in the Security Council, in the Kingdom's eyes, highlights the continued lack of direction that the Security Council has had over the past several years since the dissolution's of the permanent member seats. The Foreign Minister noted that if the issues between the APC and Selucia could not be resolved peacefully then the World Congress had rights to step in but otherwise they were sovereign affairs. He chided the "corporatist" control over the Endralonian government for their efforts, this was further exacerbated when the Endralonian delegation proposed the formation of a World Congress Trade and Legal Court, a multinational court that was previously struck down by previous sessions of the Security Council. The Foreign Minister noted that both Vanuku and Vascania stepped up to condemn the actions of the Endralonian delegation and approved of such efforts.

"It has become clear that some nations have come underneath the powerful sway of multi-national corporations and have allowed the drive for corporate profit and dominance to dictate domestic and foreign policy. Endralon, a somewhat prosperous nation on Artania's eastern flank has fallen underneath this sway and it has become apparent that they are acting in a manner which is harmful to the international order." The Foreign Minister held no punches, he bluntly stated that if the actions of Endralon were persistent that they would be forced to "...review relationships with Endralon..." and possibly launch a counter-election towards them in the Security Council. Dorvik, a former permanent member of the Security Council, has accepted the dissolution of the permanent membership and has welcomed new "fresh" views in the World Congress and the Security Council.

FM confirms new Szary Kamien naval base
April 4802

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - Minister of Foreign Affairs Tizian von Spies that Dorvish Armed Forces personnel were being dispatched to from Joint Base Kamphon, a now closed joint base with Ostland to Valruzia. The move comes amid warming relations between the two nations, previously a frosty relationship has turned over the past several years. State Chancellor Rühl confirmed the decision to open a base in Valruzia following the move from Ostland. The newly named "Heike Grossberg Naval Installation" will be opened on Valruzia's province of Kampanii, the installation when fully constructed will provide a large enough port for every vessel in the Dorvish Navy, including the massive nuclear powered Kaiser-class aircraft carrier. Political experts in Dorvik have commented that the move further displays a continued Dorvish interest in global affairs; some particular commentators have stated that the Dorvish expanding their reach of Seleya is a "important" move for the nation. Dorvish Foreign Ministry officials cite the move "...vital to the strategic interests of both Dorvik and Valruzia."

The composition of forces in Valruzia has not yet been confirmed. Sources within the Ministry of Defense and Supreme General Staff have stated it will mirror those forces formerly attached to the Joint Base Kamphon, a relatively sizable and capable Dorvish multi-service force.

Dorvik and Valruzia have deepened economic ties along with political ties in the past several years. Dorvish trade with Valruzia has expanded to nearly 125b LOD within near record time, however that is due to the relative openness of both the Dorvish and Valruzia economies when it comes to foreign investment. The Dorvish government also invested a sizeable number of loans, grants and other capital projects include the expansion of the Dorvish embassy in Nowograd. A notable feature of the Dorvish expansion has been the presence of large financial operations being further developed in Valruzia. Dorvish banks in recent years have worked to developed a streamlined banking process, including the formation of an international card processing service known as Terran Express, a multinational financial organization that was purchased by a consortium of Dorvish financial institutions. Terran Express's primary method of business is processing transactions between merchant's banks and bank-issed cards, both credit and debit cards. Ebner AG, a world leading telecom corporation has also sought closer investment to Valruzia, leading to the deployment of 5G capabilities in limited numbers to Valruzia. 5G, the newest band of phone service has begun expanding its own operations in Dorvik and has made Dorvik one of the worlds first nations to possess the network. Dorvish defense corporations have also sought to deepen ties with the Valruzian Ministry of Defense, including the latest multi-million dollar deal in regards to a 20 Lepoard 2A7+ main battle tanks arms deal.

May, 4803

Haldor, Greater Kordusia - The State Chancellor announced a series of raids across the nation aimed at seditious groups. A spokeswoman for the State Security Service provided more detail on the raids conducted across the nation. "Over the past several months the Dorvish security and intelligence forces have conducted surveillance on several groups who attempted to undermine the Dorvish people and government. The groups, largely anarchist, socialist and communist were the target of State Security Service and Dorvish Police investigations and is where the raids were targeted. Over 150 individuals were arrested from a number of groups, they all had connections and planned to carry out major terrorist attack on domestic targets. The Dorvish government condemns domestic terrorism and will remain vigilant for these sorts of operators." The State Chancellor commented that the operations were carried out over several hours and netted "significant" intelligence.
