The liberal revolution comes to Dorvik!

In a landslide victory the BPD ushers in a political revolution in Dorvik.

Already after one month the income tax system has been reformed into a flat tax system, maintaining the tax free first 10,000 earned for all tax payers, above this a new 15% rate applies regardless of income level. This massively simplified tax system gives a massive tax break to nearly everyone. The BPD goal is to reduce this rate further as we move towards a consumption based tax system. Unfortunately the increase from 10% to 15% was necessary to avoid a budget crisis until the switch is complete. Next will come a reduction of corporate taxes from 30% to 15%, ushering in a new era of growth for Dorvik. Consumption taxes will move from 5% on essentials to 15% and from 15% on luxuries to 30%. This is easily affordable due to the greatly reduced income taxes and corporate taxes (corporations pass their taxes unto the consumer).

Beyond our economic liberalisation program we have a massive freedom agenda that includes:
1. An end to discrimination against any persons based on their gender or sexuality.
2. The full legalization of industrial hemp (unregulated for low thc strains) and a regulated cannabis industry.
3. A complete separation of church and state including greater regulations on religions and especially religious schools.
4. Full voting rights to any and all prisoners (assuming they are citizens of Dorvik).
5. Abortion is allowed through the second trimester but will only be available for free in medical emergencies.
6. Decriminalization of adultery (no business of the state).
7. Ending means testing for child benefits, one‘s income is inconsequential. Per child there should be a fix child benefit, period.
8. Our police will no longer be armed to the teeth, except for specially trained SWAT teams.
9. All Titles of nobility will be forever banned and abolished.
10. The economy will be liberalized and the state will only get involved to temporarily nationalize businesses that are at the risk of bankruptcy and would cripple the economy. Shares of these temporarily nationalized companies will then be sold at a profit when the markets recover. This costing taxpayers nothing in the long run.
11. Energy prices will now be regulated and price controls are to be put in place to prevent price gouging.

Beyond this we will seek to pursue a friendly and largely noninterventionist foreign policy. Promoting trade and cultural exchanges, instead of exchanging bombs and threats. We will not get involved in the affairs of other nations and wish to be on friendly terms with all nations, regardless of their ideological leanings. Trade will help us all grow closer together.

"It looked like a silly semi-cliquey thing between a few players to me. Following around a troll called Mbites like he was some sort of god... which wouldn't have mattered so much in the scale of things, except one of them was a Mod."
