al-Kasraj: After a period of fighting and reclaiming lost territory the King, with help from intelligence agencies and loyal elements of the Kafuri Military, has purged and reformed the kafuri military to its core. For over a year the former armed forces, still consisting of the old officers and generals from the republican era, fought against ahmadi radicals and republican remnants, reclaiming large parts of Kafuristan and bringing back a sense of stability and security to Kafuri streets. Now, a years after the last major strongholds besides the inner strongholds of the radicals were captured, the military has been rocked to its core by a purge of its most experienced and loyal officers and generals. For decades the officials now hanging in the streets or beheaded in the mosques were amongst the most powerfull in Kafuristan. With the military being the allmighty institution no one dared to touch. Now the only thing left from the Republican era is the Republican Guard, which is continuing its struggle in the southern mountains and has managed to stay afloat. The regular military has been purged from any remnants of republican loyalty.
In the early morning of monday officers from the General Intelligence Directorate stormed administrative complexes from the military, being led in by royalist soldiers. The General Intelligence Directorate was, from the beginning, firmly behind the king, being used as a way to quickly solidify power. The GID officers arrested countless of officials throughout the week, over 5.000 in total were arrested and relieved of their duty. Then, on friday, the King made his announcement. The entire Armed Force would be disbanded and replaced by the Royal Kafuri Armed Forces. The branches renamed into the Royal Majatran Army, Royal Kafuri Airforce and the Royal Kafuri Navy. All 5000 arrested were put on mass trials, with the most high ranking officers and general being sentenced to death by hanging or beheading.
The following days were a massacre, in the capital beheaded or hanged bodies paraded the central square as angry civilians dragged the beheaded bodies around the city with their car, berading their anger on their former opressors. The King was already given the nickname Furqaan "the mad" which was only confirmed by these scenes. When the dust settled Kafuristan had a new armed force, disorganized, without much leadership and desperately in need of guidance. The Republican Guard in the south made use of the situation, retaking several villages and mountains from disorganized Kafuri forces. While slowly training facilities are restarted and new officers enter service it is clear that this situation will keep the Kafuri military disorganized for years to come, with the only price gained being absolute loyalty to the king.
