Despite foreign portrayals of the new President, he is a capable commanding officer and has taken command in the field several times as the Sultan's forces once tried to dislodge the Republican Guard forces in the mountains. The occupation of the Sultan's Palace caused a jubilee across the nation as forces loyal to the Ba'athist occupied hundreds of towns, villages and cities across the nation. According to the press report released by the interim Office of the President and the Presidential Council the plan is to hold elections in late February 4773, a feat that Kafuristan has not accomplished in several years. Sources within the Republican Guard and the Republican Guard Security Directorate note that the Sultan's forces have largely folded in many parts of the country but will likely continue to resist, if not for a few years while the new Kafuri Majatran Armed Forces seek them out and kill the traitors. According to Republican Guard Security Directorate reports a number of the Sultan's military have defected to the new state, including key officials within the Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Defense.
In his address to the nation the new President declared that the Kafuri Majatran Armed Forces would be reformed and underneath his wing the Kafuri government would become a "regional power" within a matter of years. Reports have placed elements of the Kafuri Marines and the Republican Guard at a number of sites including one of the nations largest oil refineries at Jablemmanet, the site of famed battle between Kafuri forces and Israist militias. Interim Foreign Minister Madjer Basher welcomed
Malivian recognition of the new Kafuri government and stated that the President would be signing a decree formalizing the appointment of Misfar el-Ebrahim as the Ambassador to Malivia, the first appointment for the President. The President noted that the recognition presented further legitimacy to the regime and that the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Oil would be reaching out the Malivian government to discuss increased trade, notably in the field of oil and gas.
