The aftermath of the air battle - Golemia, Saridan

The calendar marks 15 February, 3116 and Golemia has been captured. After several months of air raids, air battles and multiple naval attacks by the KMCoS, Golemia finally bent at its knees and after the landing of troops within the city premises, remaining rebel forces surrendered and the city was captured. Meanwhile, Limaford, Xpani and Asadma, the three remaining large cities of the region of Warris have also been captured, with the last to have sustained immense destruction by the united naval attack that took place almost for two months before the coastal lines were destroyed and the rebels were forced to retreat within city boundaries. All surrounding military camps have been captured as well, handing possession of the inactivated nuclear weaponry to the Kafuri Invasion Military.

With the coordinated effort of the Kafuri Navy, and the Al'Badaran troops, which landed in Pashuran Valley in September 22, the cities of Cosworth and McConnell were captured relatively easy, with minimum casualties and loses for the liberation army. Sadly, Saridania and Pashuran are still holding on and exercising pressure to the local outskirts, forbidding the liberation forces from approaching anywhere near the cities' premises. Same situation applies for the industrial region of Moshiran, where the Kafuri Invasion Forces were unable to enter due to overwhelming military protection by the remaining rebel army, which seems to have gathered there in immense numbers.

Kafuristan receives International Support

As the calendar enters 26 October, 3116, the war marks more than a year since the KMCoS invaded the mainland and captured parts of Saridan, as indicated in the map above. This situation has created confusion, anger and disappointment, as the situation deteriorates and the constant battles continue endlessly. Supplies are dwindling and the situation in the mainland is in its worst state since the nation's creation. The population is starving and there is no way to balance the situation while the rebel army continues forcing back both Kafuri and Al'Badaran troops.

Mr. Maximilian III, commented earlier this morning:

"Yes, indeed, the situation is bad. But we have no other option but to remain persistent and fight for a better future for Saridan. The Nameless Party created this situation for themselves and they shall be forced with the consequences. We already have arrested an immense number of traitorous characters and we shall not stop until every member of the Nameless Party is brought down, that is, either apprehended or dead. In this dire emergency, we must remain calm and proceed with the plan we thoughtfully designed. There is no question to this, the liberation forces shall win."

Meanwhile, the Kafuri government has made a call to Rutania, with regards to their official wish to visit the Armed Land of Saridan - effectively declaring their support to the Nameless Party, which includes the following quote: "We are inclined to advise the official from Rutania to refrain from making any visits to Saridan because entrance will not be permitted by the blockade of the Kafuri Military Command of Surtilati. Please continue your diplomatic relations through distance." No official response from Rutania has been issued so far, and diplomatic discussions between Rutania and the Nameless Party seem to have stopped. The Kafuri government has received international support from both Luthori and Dorvik, one of the major diplomatic factors in Terra. "This ensures that we proceed with stability to our final cause", Mr. Maximilian III commented after thanking the aforementioned nations for their support.

Surtilati now part of Kafuristan

The calendar shows 29 October, 3116. The final arrangements for Surtilati have been made. According to the Kafuri Division of Surtilati, the island of Surtilati is now an official part of Kafuristan, in ways specified in the aforementioned treaty. The document was signed by both the leading powers of Surtilati (the remaining officials of the previous regime, who fled to Surtilati before the establishment of the revolutionary regime) and the government of Kafuristan, effectively handing control over the island to Kafuristan. "It was the sole way of ensuring stability for Surtilati, due to increasing local government costs, lack of funding and massive military budget", Mr. Maximilian III commented, "however, through this initiation, Surtilati will no longer have to worry about military budget, and may trade with Kafuristan according to domestic laws, allowing for a decrease in costs in major export deals as well. For instance, petroleum is much cheaper in Surtilati and with the implementation of the KAF, Kafuristan's currency, the Surtilati market is now fully united with the Kafuri one."

This has proved to be a dramatic measure towards ensuring stability in the island of Surtilati, which continues to be guarded by Kafuri military presence. The contents of this document are presented below:

This international document concerns the island of Surtilati as a political, economic and geographical entity and the nation of Kafuristan, which, upon agreement with the leading Saridani powers in Surtilati, will, upon ratification of this document by both sides, include the island of Surtilati as an official territory of the Holy Ranz'riah Empire of Queranzári Kafuristan, under the title of "Kafuri Division of Surtilati", a right received by military means and constant military presence, in accordance with the following articles:

A.01:
The island of Surtilati will become the Kafuri Division of Surtilati, upon ratification and will be partially subjected, along with the leading and official powers of Surtilati in Saridan, under the leadership of the Kafuri administrative government body.

A.02:
Control over Surtilati shall be split upon ratification between the government of Kafuristan and the leading, recognized powers of the island of Surtilati.

According to this document, the following changes shall be made:

B.01:
The island of Surtilati shall be fully incorporated with Kafuristan, with unlimited border permission between the two locations and no special documentation required for travel, except strict border control. Citizenship rights of Kafuristan will be given to the citizens of Surtilati as well, who however will remain in the electoral archives and documents of the Kafuri Division of Surtilati, with independent elections and legislative procedures.

B.02: Local governance of the Kafuri Division of Surtilati will be given to the elected and recognized leading powers of the island of Surtilati.

C.01: No tariffs will be imposed between the two entities with regards to trade. The market of Surtilati will be fully incorporated with the market of Kafuristan, together as one domestic economy and with the same currency, the KAF, of Kafuristan.

C.02: Taxation and spending of the Kafuri Division of Surtilati will be the sole provision of the local government of the island of Surtilati for that entity and its citizens solely.

D.01: The remaining Saridani military located in the island of Surtilati will be incorporated in the Kafuri Command of Surtilati. The Division will no longer maintain any form of military, nor it shall have a government division with regards to defense. All military and defense issues of the Kafuri Division of Surtilati will be handled by the government of Kafuristan.

D.02: The Kafuri Division of Surtilati will have constant military presence provided by Kafuri forces and the government of Kafuristan.

E.01: Expenditures concerning the island of Surtilati will be handled by the local government of the Kafuri Division of Kafuristan. Expenditures concerning the military will be solely handled by the government of Kafuristan.

Today is 3 February, 3117. Mr. Maximilian III speaks to the press:

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Today's issue concerns by all means the situation in Saridan. On that information, we are advancing steadily and soon we will have proceeded with the utmost care to the third and final part of our plan with regards to the invasion of mainland Saridan and the successful ending of the Nameless Party. Short term reconstruction and housing projects have commenced in the captured areas, solely by Kafuri expenditures. Despite the domestic rise in imports and produced goods such as petroleum, I can assure you that this is a temporary economic state, which allows the KMCoS to house all the homeless people and to provide with supplies the population of mainland Saridan. We knew from the beginning that this war, this interference if you like, would not end with the victory of the KMCoS, but would rather allow for the demanding task of reconstructing Saridan to follow next.

Nevertheless, I have called you here to make sure that my warning to the Majatran Communist Party of Al'Badara, which has exiled itself in Saridan, under the protection of the Nameless Party, is heard all around the world and that the MCP accepts and recognizes the situation and proceeds towards rational acts. We are steadily progressing through mainland Saridan, and it will not be long before Saridan has been captured. It is not our wish for you party member's to be arrested or caught in the middle of this war, but unless you raise a white flag of neutrality and allow the KMCoS to escort your officials back to Al'Badara, we shall be forced to act with violent ways and forcibly apprehend them. Already Al'Badaran - Kafuri relations have been disrupted, it would be sad if the situation continued to deteriorate. Al'Badara does not wish to trial you; we are all looking to sit down and discuss in order to result in a positive solution for both side's problems."

Kafuri Government accuses military of plotting a coupe d'etat. Several high ranking officers and others arrested.

Eighty-six people, including writers, members of civil organizations and former military officers, were charged Monday with membership in an illegal ultranationalist organization and of plotting to overthrow the Kafuri government.

Speaking at a televised news conference, the Lehonto chief prosecutor, Muhammed bin Fayad, refused to give details of the case against the ultranationalist and hard-line secular organization, known as Hizb ul-Tahrir, because the case had not yet been formally accepted by the court. But he said the suspects, 48 of them in police custody and the others free while awaiting trial, were charged with forming, managing and aiding the organization, which is accused of plotting a coup against the Queranzári-rooted, governing Hizb al-Ba'th al-Queranzáriyah al-Qawmi, or HBQQ.

The 2,455-page indictment is widely perceived in Kafuristan as being part of a power struggle between the secular establishment, including parts of the military, and the democratically elected and religiously conservative government. The possible coup emerged when a cache of weapons, explosives and illegal documents was found in the home of an ultranationalist retired military officer during a security operation 13 months ago.

The arrest of the two former generals has stirred controversy in a nation where the military has traditionally seen its role as protecting the secular state. The military strongly denies any links with the Hizb ul-Tahrir network. It reasserts its loyalty to the State in occasional public statements. Secularists remain suspicious of the governing party, which grew out of previous pro-Queranzári parties. Some warn that the government’s policies will lead to Queranzári -oriented conservatism.

More arrests in coupe d'etat conspiracy. Military top and hundreds of army officers amongst arrested.

LEHONTI-- Government sources report that the Idarat al-Amn al-Siyasi, or Political Security Directorate, arrested hundreds of army officers today, accusing them of conspiring to overthrow the democraticly elected government and membership of an illegal organization, namely that of the Hizb ul-Tahrir, or Party for Freedom. Amongst the arrested are five senior members of the Supreme Military Council, the country's highest military authority. The Government sources could not tell specificly how many officers were arrested, but they could tell that the operation was still ongoing.

The latest arrests have increased tensions in the country as both the Kafuri Government and ordinary Kafuri citizens await a responce by military to the arrests. One analist said that the situation could have to scenario's. Scenario 1: The arrests and the ongoing investigation have decapitated the abilities of the group to take out the Government and nothing will happen. Or scenario 2: The recent arrests have forced the remaining conspirators to take action against the Government and a potential bloody conflict will errupt.

Sources close to the Government have said that the conspiritors will be tried by a special tribunal and that they will be charged with conspiring to overthrow the democraticly elected government, membership of an illegal organization, sedition and treason. If found guilty sentences could range from 30 years to life or even the death penalty.

Tensions between Kafuristan and Likatonia increase as the Imperial Kafuri Airforce shoots down unmanned Likatonian spy plane.

LEHONTI-- Kafuristan's Imperial Air Defence Forces shot down an unmanned Likatonian spy plane that was trying to gather information on military installations in the Kafuri-Kalopian border region. Air Force Commander General Ali Mohammed Abd al-Hamed said the drone was flying over the Ashad military complex near the holy city of Helem in western Kafuristan when it was shot down. The report did not say when the plane was shot down.

The Ministry of Defence released a statement short after the unmanned spy plane was shot down saying that Likatonia had violated Kafuri airspace and had infringed on Kafuristan's sovereignty. The Minister of Defence has put the Imperial Kafuri Airforce on an increased state of alert and has ordered the increase of air patrolles in Kafuristan's airspace.

The Secretary of the Empire of Kafuristan, mr. Yussuf ibn Muhammed al-Hammad has convened an emergency session of the H.I.M. Cabinet to decide on possible sanctions against Likatonia. These sanctions will probably be either a economic embargo or the suspencion of diplomatic ties between the two nation. As a first action, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Likatonian Ambassador to Kafuristan to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to explain this incident. A government offical stated that if the explaination is not satisfactory, this will result in severe sanctions against Likatonia, both economic and diplomatic. The government offical was also quoted saying that: "The use of satellites and unmanned drones to spy on not only Kafuristan, but on many Majatran nations is an unacceptable act. These actions are a complete violation of the sovereignty of the Majatran nations. Continuation will undermine Likatonia's influence and relationships with the nations on the Majatran continent.

Kafuristan is locked in a dispute with Likatonia and its allies over its neighbour Kalopia, which Likatonia believes funded and armed alledged Kalopian militans who bombed the main inter-provincial highway of Likatonia.

Kafuristan expels Likatonian ambassador, recalls its own ambassador.

LEHONTI-- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a written statement saying that the Kafuri Government has ordered the Likatonian ambassador to Kafuristan to leave the country within 48 hours. This action was taken by the Kafuri Government as a reaction to the demands issued by the Likatonian government with regards to the Likatonian spy plane shot down by Kafuristan's Imperial Air Defence Forces. In the statement the Kafuri Government states that the demands made by the Likatonian government, namely paying damage reparations and issuing a formal apology to Likatonian Armed Forces and the Likatonian people, is unacceptable as Kafuristan was fully within its rights to defend Kafuristan's sovereignty. The accusations made by the Likatonian government that the shooting down of the unmanned spy plane was an act of aggression or even war on the part of Kafuristan, is a false claim. The Kafuri Imperial Air Defence Forces acted in self defence on their part. The courages soldiers of the Imperial Army defended their Motherland against the aggression of a foreign power, namely Likatonia. The mere act of spying with spy planes inside Kafuri airspace is a act of war against the Kafuri Empire, thus making the Likatonian government the aggressor in this case.

Sources inside the Ministry of Defence have stated that the Kafuri Government is debating to raise the Imperial Military Readiness Level (IMRL) of the Imperial Armed Forces from code Green to Code Yellow, the second highest readiness level.. If the IMRL is raised, it would mean that the Imperial Armed Forces is anticipating a strong possibility of an attack against Kafuristan.

Kafuristan raises military readiness level.

LEHONTI-- In a short communique by the Ministry of Defence, the Kafuri Supreme Military Council has announced the complete mobilization of the Imperial Armed Forces. All sections of the Armed Forces have been put at Imperial Military Readiness Level (IMRL) "Code Orange", the second highest IMRL level. This means that foreign military incursions into Kafuri territory are considered highly likely. Because of this all leaves have been cancelled and all military personal are ordered to report to their units. The Imperial Armed Forces have been ordered to prepare for, and prevent an invasion of Kafuristan by foreign powers.

The Supreme Military Council has also ordered that the Queranzari Guard and the Kafuri Imperial Army Corps of Engineers (KIACE) to begin building and extending defensive positions and anti-air positions across Kafuristan

The Kafuri Imperial Naval Forces have been ordered to intercept hostile ships entering Kafuri territorial waters in order to prevent an invasion of Kafuristan.
