Ba'athist assume power in al-Kasraj
December, 4613

al-Kasraj, Abi'nadi - In a bloodless coup the Majatran Socialist Ba'ath Party - Kafuristan Region have assumed power in al-Kasraj and with their Republican Guard, who maintained legal status as a branch of the Armed Forces of Kafuristan, have assumed power in major cities throughout the country. Acting President of the Majatran Republic of Kafuristan, the successor state to the Kingdom of Kafuristan, Kassem bin Qadir al-Sadhi spoke at the Presidential Palace to a bevy of domestic and foreign reports. President al-Sadhi, flanked by his loyalist and members of the Republican Guard, spoke about the ineffective government that has ruled Kafuristan for the past several decades and has cited a failing economy, lawlessness and a resurgence in radical Ahmadism as a threat to the country and the region. Even as the President spoke following snap elections and the provisional government installed, the Republican Guard and other elements of the Kafuri Armed Forces, security and intelligence forces were conducting large-scale raids against opposition and radical Ahmadi targets.

The leadership of the Republican Guard was taken over by brother of the current President, General Abdut Tawwab al-Sadhi. Effective immediately he appointed his own son, the nephew of the President, Saqr al-Sadhi as the General-Director of the Republican Guard Security Directorate. The RGSD is responsible for intelligence gathering and security operations of the Republican Guard. Longtime ally and friend of the al-Sadhi family Aayid el-Mowad was appointed as the General-Director of the General Intelligence Directorate, the primary foreign and domestic intelligence agency of the Majatran Republic of Kafuristan. The Ba'athist have made it their priority to safeguard oil facilities and their operations. Kafuri, with some luck and leadership, will likely resume their top spot as the worlds leading oil producer and will compete on the international market again. Incoming Minister of Trade, Industry and Oil Mody Deeb is an expert on oil operations, having served on numerous boards of oil companies and is widely known as a rebuilding expert and is rumored to be in talks with assisting the Trigunians for rebuilding their oil operations.

Kafuri government stops short of condemning Vanuku
September, 4615

al-Kasraj, Abi’nadi - President of the Majatran Republic of Kafuristan Kassem bin Qadir al-Sadhi, Prime Minister of Kafuristan Odion Boutros and Minister of Foreign Affairs Neeshaan Zakaria stopped short of condemning Vanukuean actions on its northern border with Barmenia. President al-Sadhi called for “...restraint and caution.” but didn’t openly condemn Vanuku. While the President and government of Kafuristan stopped short of criticizing a trade partner, the President did condemn any “foreign” intervention into Majatra. Kafuristan, as the largest oil and gas producer in the world, it reassumed its mantle according a report issued by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Oil last year in January, 4615. Sharnaft has reported it has resumed 75% of all activities, up from 57% when the Ba’athist resumed power in the 4613. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Oil has requested the Republican Guard protect facilities, the Republican Guard has obliged and dispatched several units to protect the dozens of facilities owned by Sharnaft. On the interior of the country, largely where it’s a dessert wasteland, the Kafuri Border Forces continue to hunt down elements of ASIK and the MMIK.

Despite the relative peace and calm that has come over Kafuristan in the past several years, there are outbreaks of violence on a weekly basis. In Paebus there has been two car bombings and a suicide bomber, all linked to the Ahmadi State in Kafuristan better know to the international community as “ASIK”. Ministry of the Interior forces such as the Central Security Directorate have massed forces in hotspots where activity is high, namely in the interior of the country where the lack of viable roads and natural resources have caused an economic downturn. The promises of completing projects left unfinished have been the topic of discussion for the Ba’athist and according to regime sources, an announcement is imminent on a massive infrastructure project that will be largely paid for by oil and gas funds.

Kafuri Marines and Republican Guard launch strikes with Vanuku
December, 4616

Forces from the Kafuri Marines, a branch of the Kafuri Majatran Navy, in combination with elements of the 2nd Commando Brigade of the Republican Guard Forces Command, have assisted Vanukuean operations in Barmenia. The decision to involve itself in the Barmenian situation was made several months ago and talks were conducted with the Vanukuean government in Kiel regarding Kafuri involvement. The Majatran Sea Fleet of the Kafuri Majatran Navy assisted in operations, the Majatran Sea Fleet is commanded by Admiral Abdul Majeed al-Aly, a veteran Ba'athist sailor and former captain of luxury yachts who previously served in the Kafuri Navy under other administrations. The Kafuri Marines, considered to be an "elite" branch of the Kafuri military alongside the Republican Guard and the Kafuri Strategic Forces conducted several landings on the island of Kathuristan.

President al-Sadhi stated in a press conference at the commencement of operations that "The Majatran Republic of Kafuristan is a majority Kafuristan nation and a leading member of the Majatran world, we spoke with our allies in Vanuku to ensure that Majatran rights and principles are respected. We appreciate and thank Akim that Vanuku has respected our rights and ideas behind supporting the operation. Majatra has far too long been a testing ground for other continents and nations, we cannot allow that. This is a Majatran problem, this will be solved by Majatran nations. Our forces will conduct operations for stability and security and then will foster state-building operations and will focus on peacekeeping in the tense regions of Barmenia. We applaud the brave men of the Kafuri forces and we will continue to support them."

Kafuristan is expected to undergo significant troubles in projecting but it is expected that they will gain valuable intelligence and operational planning from the activities with the Vanukuean Navy. Minister of Defense Abdul Khaliq al-Mahmood and Chief of the General Staff Admiral Faarooq el-Sader spoke at lengthy press conferences regarding the operations. The 1st and 2nd Marine Regiments, roughly 7,000 soldiers, 210 infantry fighting vehicles and 82 tanks of various qualities will be deployed to conduct combat operations in Kathuristan. The operational goal of the Kafuri Marines will be to conquer the capital of Kathura, a center of culture for the Barmenian people. The 2nd Command Brigade of the Republican Guard Forces Command is roughly 1,500 soldiers, equipped mostly with high-mobility vehicles and designed for rapid strikes across Kathuristan.

Ba’athist and National Liberation Front dominate People’s Council elections
August, 4624

al-Kasraj, Abi'nadi - Underneath the continued guidance of Secretary-General of the Majatran Socialist Ba’ath Party and President of the Majatran Republic of Kafuristan Kassem bin Qadir al-Sadhi, the Ba’athist and the National Liberation Front have swept elections in the People’s Council. While the Ba’athist have captured 200 seats in the People’s Council, the National Liberation Front has captured its largest share ever with 50 seats. The leading faction of the NLF is the Kafuri Communist Party, led by General-Secretary Mastoor al-Baig. The second largest, with 20 seats is the Kafuri Social Nationalist Party which is led by Secretary-General Rabi el-Galla, a fiery former Republican Guard Colonel and the smallest is the Majatran Socialist Movement led by Chairman Kasto Naifeh.

It is likely that President al-Sadhi will appoint a new Council of Ministers, namely those within the National Liberation Front to continue to shore up regime support. Minister of Trade, Industry and Oil Mody Deeb will continue in his post but an up and coming star in Sharnaft, the state-owned oil and gas company, Wael Awad, is likely to replace the aging statesman that helped rebuild the failing Kafuri energy sector. Despite the heavy reliance on oil and gas, notably for the economy, Deeb was known for his efforts to modernize the power grid and even attempted to build nuclear reactors, something he failed at.

While elections were peaceful, violence broke out in several parts of the country in which the President blamed the Ahmadi State in Kafuristan and the Majatran Mujadeen in Kafuristan, both groups have claimed responsibility for the violence. While sectarian violence has been limited in Kafuristan, notably between the majority Abadi and Israist, tensions have flared following the execution of ASIK “Caliph” in 4525. While the execution of Abdul Hameed el-Abbasi was nearly 100 years ago, the el-Abbasi family has continued to lead ASIK and has grown ever more radical. Violent attacks have been carried out across Majatra, increased activity has been spotted throughout Dovani, Vescania and Temania and the lawless, failed state of Talmoria has succumbed to many groups preaching radical Ahmadism. Forces from the Public Security Directorate and the Central Security Directorate were deployed en masse to respond to riots and protests from radical Ahmadist in the country during elections.

While elections were being conducted the sitting Minister of Foreign Affairs Neeshaan Zakaria and Speaker of the People’s Council Jamil Al-Gafiqi met with representatives from Trigunia to discuss a large-scale arms deal. Representatives from the Armed Forces of Kafuristan were present and were involved in the deal, despite Minister of Defense Abdul Khaliq al-Mahmood’s absence due to the electoral violence, Chief of the General Staff Admiral Faarooq el-Sader was present, as was General Abdut Tawwab al-Sadhi, the brother of President al-Sadhi and commander of the Republican Guard.

Uptick in violence on Kathuristan
September, 4625

Kathuristan, Barmenia - Admiral Abdul Majeed al-Aly, commanding officer of the Majatran Sea Fleet of the Kafuri Majatran Navy and commander of the military administration in Kathuristan, the primary island of Barmenia has stated that violence has increased over the past several years. The Kafuri Marines and the Ba'athist Republican Guard launched a combined arms strike with the Vanukuean military in December of 4616, in the 11 years since the pseudo-occupation, there has been an uptick in violence. Kathuristan is largely members of the Barmenian Apostolic Church, a component of the Apostolic Church of the East. While the presence of largely Ahmadi-forces in Kathuristan has been a point of contention, the Kafuri forces in Barmenia are largely focused on "...stability operations..." and the "...protection of Majatran ethnic groups..." the presence of Kafuri forces alongside Vanukuean force was seen by many as a means to halt claims of "Southern Imperialism" or "White Imperialism" as some have taken to call military actions of nations such as Deltaria, Vanuku and Zardugal.

The uptick in violence is not associated with any specific group or people, a wide array of terrorist attacks have struck the capital of Kathura in the past several years breaking a period of four peaceful years in 4620 when a car bomb exploded at the Kafuri military headquarters. Since the arrival of Kafuri forces, the Kafuri have taken over the Port of An Nabair and made it into a makeshift naval port. Kafuri forces were initially the 1st and 2nd Regiment of the Kafuri Marines and the 2nd Commando Brigade of the Republican Guard, but these forces have largely been placed on front-line combat duty throughout Kathuristan while further Kafuri Strategic Forces have been brought in and the Kafuri Majatran Army have occupied garrion duties. Military governor Admiral al-Aly has stated that martial law, increased cracks downs on "religious extremist" and others that seek to undermine the stability of the Barmenian state.

President al-Sadhi calls for closer cooperation with the Ahmadi world, notably Badara
July 4627

al-Kasraj, Abi'nadi - President al-Sadhi has announced that he is prepared to make closer diplomatic relations with the nation of Badara to the north. Kafuristan and Badara make up the two largest Majatran majority nations on the continent named after the Majatran people. President al-Sadhi spoke at the Ahmadi Summit held every three years throughout the Ahmadi world, this year was held in al-Kasraj as it has since the organization was founded several centuries ago. President al-Sadhi was the keynote speaker at the Ahmadi Summit and spoke the need for unity in the Majatran-majority world, he spoke about the dangerous nature of radical Ahmadism and the desire for the Kafuri government to take the charge against global extremism. President al-Sadhi praised Ba'athism and it's "...secular, peaceful nature..." and the need for Majatran majority and Ahmadi majority governments to adopt new measures against the stem of "Imperialism" and "anti-Majatran bias" and that Kafuristan, and others need to step up and take the lead in countering radical Ahmadism throughout the globe. He called on the Organization of Ahmadi Cooperation and the Majatran League, which is primarily comprised of majority Majatran nations, to take the lead in the world "...finally..."
