Garoby Captured/Key Witness Dead

Earlier this morning, the national police raided a small farmhouse in Penghonai. They had received an anonymous tip that Tibalt Garoby was hiding there. The anonymous tip was correct and Garoby was brought into custody. As they were transporting him, something terrible happened; the key witness who had informed about the bribes had died in a car crash. The authorities quickly traced the crash to one of Garoby's associates. Now we must ask our selves the question, will Gariby be set free? This seems even more likely after he stated:

Soon enough I will go free. This has only been a media show to lynch me. No division was prioritised. We have a list, and that division is just at the top. In case you all haven't noticed, it is the "First Artillery Division" If it is not obvious why they get equipment first, let me spell it out for you. They are the first, which means number one, and they are an artillery division. Artillery with an "A". They are Division 1A in our files, no wonder they got supplied first. I am very disappointed with the national police and I hope that in trial you can see the magnitude of the error you committed.

With the original whistleblower dead, many are starting to side with Garoby. The KNN can only hope that the truth will be discovered in the courthouse.

Garoby found guilty!
November, 4808

After over a year in court, a week ago, the jury dictated that Tibalt Garoby was guilty of corruption and taking bribes. Sentencing was yesterday and it was decided that Garoby will spend the rest of his life in a prison cell. Garoby was promptly escorted out of the courthouse, whilst screaming that this was all a charade and that he is innocent. A member of the KNN team was allowed into the car for a final interview. Garoby said the following:

I am outraged at the idea that the jury thought that I am guilty. There is no proof. Yes, the general and I know each other but to say that just because of this we are guilty is ludicrous. The judicial system in this nation is broken. I hope that no one has to go through the same horrible experience as I did, for it is brutal to see the nation you love betray you.

Iovis announces the constitution is to be cancelled! Consul position to be abolished?
July, 4809

The Consul, Cardea Iovis, held a press conference this morning.

Fellow compatriots, as many of you know, the late Consul, Quintinus Vespacius, advocated for a new constitution for our nation. The late Consul and I both agreed on the fact that our nation is in need of change, but I believe that a new constitution is not necessary. The first section will now be only an amendment of the current constitution. The articles that were currently being worked on will now be cancelled and the constitutional committee will be disbanded. I also come here with an important announcement. In the coming weeks, a new bill will be proposed to the senate. If the said bill passes, the office of Consul will be officially abolished. The government will then be run by the new Supreme Council of Workers. I will act as the spokesperson for the Council, and when the new election comes, a new Council will be elected, with another spokesperson, in the event that I am not reelected.

Accident in the Railway
June, 4810

Since the completion of the NRS, the national railway had had a perfect score. Not a single accident in over 15 years. That changed today. An operator pulled a wrong lever and changed the tracks. This led to two trains crashing into each other. Both of the drivers died, and so did a few workers who were on board. One of the trains was heading back from Endralon, bringing many goods. Most of these were lost due to the fact that both trains caught on fire. It is estimated that the trainwreck caused the loss of over 150 billion Kuno in goods. The railway is currently being rebuilt, but the damage has been done. Hopefully, this is the first and last accident. that is called forshadowing

The Sinking of the Grimaldi
November, 4810

Earlier today, a small lighthouse in Jildrath Island received a distress signal. It came from a large cargo ship, the "Grimaldi". It had left the International Port and was headed to Davostan and it was carrying all sorts of goods. At 11:00 AM, an explosion shook the southern deck. A container containing munition for KMW guns had exploded. The fire spread quickly and, soon, the ship began to sink. Firefighter helicopters came quickly to try to put out the flames and rescue the survivors, but it was for nothing. Most of the crew did not survive, and the entire cargo was lost. It is estimated that the ship carried the equivalent of over 500 billion Kuno. This is the second disaster of this nature in the past year, and it bears the question, are these accidents, or is it some sort of attack?

To the families of the 207 crew members and the 2 firefighters that died in this tragedy, our deepest condolences.

Explosion at the mine!
June, 4811

Another catastrophe hits our nation. First, it was the railroad accident, then the sinking of the Grimaldi. Now it is an explosion in the iron mine. The iron mine, which started operations in 4794 had never had any sort of accident or irregularity. After an explosion shook the entire mine in the morning, miners were instructed to evacuate so it could be assessed what the damage was. Shortly after the evacuation began, another explosion happened. This explosion destroyed both the entrance and the elevator shaft. Over 30 miners were still stuck inside. Rescue attempts have already begun, and one miner, who was close to the entrance, has already been rescued. As efforts continue, it has been possible to provide the miners with little supplies. Although the miners will not be starving anytime soon, it is imperative that they are rescued.

After 3 weeks of arduous cooperation, the miners that had been [url]trapped in an iron mine[/url] have been rescued. Out of the 37 miners that had been stuck, only 2 died. However, most suffered serious injuries and they are currently at the hospital. The mine in question will remain closed until it is deemed safe to return. We are happy to see that most of the miners got away with their lives.

Iron Prices Plumet!
July, 4812

Following the iron mine disaster of 4811, the mine struggled to get back on its feet. It took over 6 months for it to re-open, and since then it is still yet to be fully operational again. Following a minor incident in which a few thousand tons of iron were damaged by the personnel of the mine, production was slowed even more. The announcement that everyone was waiting for has finally been released. The price of our nation's iron will be lowered by over 60% and production will be much much lower. The mine that was at one point the saviour of our nation, is now becoming a massive problem. If this continues, experts say, the mine might even be shut down.

Agricultural Focus
May, 4816

Following the disasters of 4810 and 4811, and iron prices going down, the Supreme Council of Workers has decided that a shift in our economy is necessary to save the country's economy. Smaller farms will be encouraged to join larger ones and the government will provide support for these farms. Furthermore, new farms of many different types of crops will be established. This will not only help generate more output, but it will also create new jobs. If the Supreme Council's plan works out, Kundrati could become a very important exporter for agricultural products.

KMW Announces new artillery gun
May, 4819

After several years in development, the renowned weapons manufacturer, KWM, announced a new artillery gun, the field gun CALA 30. Originally planned to enter streamline production in 4815, the Tibalt Garoby corruption scandal halted development. After being delayed for nearly 5 years, the field gun is now ready for active duty. The Kundrati Military will receive the first few dozens that are built, and from there many will be shipped to the diverse nations that have deals with the company.
The field gun uses 155mm calibre and it has an effective range of 23 km, however, with special ammunition it is able to get to a range of 39 km.
