ARTANIA MARCHES TO WAR: Kundrati and Luthorian forces take massive gains towards the north of Kirlawa
[16 August 5453] | backdated.

It was a long while since the last update by the esteemed* Kasaema Guardian, as Kundrati and Luthorian forces were stuck in Telon and Luthi, two major cities on the road to capturing the Kirlawan junta. Some great news came on 1 August when both towns were taken as, in Telon, an air campaign by both Luthori and Kundrati ensured that the city would be taken quickly as military targets continued to be submerged in fire. The KuNS Quintinus Vespacius and the accompanying carrier force also dropped anchor at Abhama., The city was under siege for most of the week from 1 August to 8 August as a bridgehead was attempted in that city. The city fell on 9 August as reinforcements came from Peghonai.

From that point on, the focus was on Cadoria and Eimhodha. Forces were split in half to take both cities, as troops from Telon marched towards Chrisalya and troops from Luthi headed to Cadoria. The carrier force also worked on bombarding Eimhodha to submission to ensure the campaign had a much easier time there.

Before we talk about the results of that campaign, we have to talk about the air campaign and some significant successes there. Air superiority had already been reached in Chromide and Valreata; however, getting to Luthi and Telon had been tough. However, with these two cities falling, an entire Kirlawan state was now under firm air superiority of the Kundrati and Luthori Air Forces. Work was done now to deal with Chrisalya and Eimhodha to assist the ground forces in attaining victory there. With the carrier force and its planes, this was a more straightforward job now that Abhama's air superiority was given to Kundrati and Luthori.

This meant that Eimhodha, Cadoria, and Chrisalya would now be subject to heavy bombardment from the air, the ground, and the sea in Eimhodha and Chrisalya. This produced a stream of refugees heading all over the place, which also helped to hinder the ground operation as refugees had to be taken and categorized and sent to Kundrati proper or other countries. It has been estimated that tens of thousands of Kirlawans are already in Kundrati, potentially hundreds of thousands following suit to Kirlawa's neighbors. Humanitarian assistance to these refugees has been hampered by the number of those affected, even now, as Kundrati struggles to grasp the humanitarian side of the operation. It has been promised that more resources will be provided to the refugees in due course as scenes of Kirlawans on the street begging for food and money are becoming common in Peghonai and north-western Lirnak with shelters and food banks being full and having long lines.

Nonetheless, the military campaign trudged onward. On 10 August, Kundrati forces surrounded Cadoria and Eimhodha via Abhama and Luthi. This campaign took some days to complete, with high casualties on both sides due to some Kirlawan resistance being fierce and bloody. However, on 14 August, Cadoria fell to Kundrati forces as paratroopers were dropped all around the city, urging the rest of Kundrati forces to charge towards the town, which was successful. The same day, Chrisalya fell due to continuous naval and air bombardment, which allowed the Kundrati and Luthori forces to enter the city. Upon hearing the news of Cadoria and Chrisalya on 15 August, Eimhodha opened their gates in surrender.

Thus, today was focused on cleaning up the mess made in the abovementioned cities and moving towards Nacuadha and Nisira. Air assets have been working on disarming air defenses in the two cities throughout today, alongside gathering more intelligence in Kirla and the two cities already mentioned. It is expected that Kundrati forces could begin an attack later in the week.

ArtSat (Artanian Satelite) launches new models of internet satellite
[13 June 5463]

It has been announced after several delays because of the Kirlawan Intervention that ArtSat, the company that wishes to make internet available to all via satellite, would finally begin releasing their latest product (now named the SunDish) to consumer use in 5465. The technology is being refined now, and work has already started on securing space on the under-construction Northern Cosmodrome and securing a rocket supplier.

The SunDish has the capacity for high-speed internet to stream movies and video games at cheap rates. The following is from the initial article:
By 5460, it is expected that the first few satellites will be available to the public with an initial price of 3500 KUN (838.63 Lourennaise Franc), which is scheduled to go down drastically over time. The price is 2500 KUN (599.02 Franc) upfront for the set-up cost, with 1000 KUN (239.61 Franc) a month afterward for operation costs for those who wish to set up in a fixed location. ArtSat states that there will be an additional service for on-the-go customers at an extra 100 KUN (23.96 Franc) a month to allow them to set up their service in RVs and places away from their homes.

ArtSat has announced that their work and that of their Beiteynuese partners have allowed the process to go quickly regarding space technology; however, the Kirlawan Intervention made it difficult to procure resources. The Kundrati government has provided resources for the company to stay afloat, though such aid is no longer needed.

The company has stated that they and the Kundrati Space Agency plan on working on a rocket system to carry multiple satellites into space in a payload. Such a technology has not been made in Kundrati before, and they plan to work with partners in Beiteynu and other countries to work on the rocket with the hope that they will be available by 5475. ArtSat has announced that they will work with various Baltusian rocket companies that have proven their capacity to hold satellites on their payload. A deal was reached earlier this month that allows ArtSat to use these rockets and, in the interim, use Baltusian and Beiteynuese launch sites to launch the satellites in two years.

ARTANIA MARCHES TO WAR: SWEENEY DEAD
[18 August 5453] | backdated.

Excellent news from the front today! The Kundrati Armed Forces have confirmed via drone footage and recon intelligence that the head of the Kirlawan army, General Fachtna Sweeney, along with his entourage, including a couple of high-ranking colonels and military heads charged with defending the city of Nacuadha, has been eliminated!

General Sweeney has been known throughout Kundrati as the man who started the war, as he is the man who controls the army, which made incursions into Kundrati and Dundorf, which first started the war. He was spotted several times throughout Kirlawa as he liked to visit the frontline to give orders to the collapsing Kirlawan soldiers personally. However, it has been hard to eliminate the leader of the Kirlawan army.

...until today. Recon intelligence found him in an apartment building facing the ongoing fighting, which has slowed down Kundrati forces from air and land. Once again, he was surrounded by high-ranking colonels and military heads who seemed to be personally leading the defense of the city. The drone was launched earlier in the day and, after confirmation by intelligence and reconnaissance, dropped a payload of two large bombs upon the building.

The building immediately collapsed, with one of the bombs managing to hit Sweeney personally as he was spotted behind a window. Minutes later, the entire front collapsed as Kundrati forces suddenly found Kirlawan troops surrendering en masse in the Nacuadha area. The soldiers entered the city and, after securing the town entirely, found the bodies of Sweeney and his syncofancts, who were dead. As rumors spread, the front in Nisira also seemingly collapsed, and similar scenes unfolded in that city, which was taken by Luthori and Kundrati forces soon after. The focus now is on the northernmost towns that have not yet been captured.

As the final results of the elections are being counted, a historic agreement has been reached in Kasaema. Socialist Kundrati Together has agreed to form a government with centrist Kundrati Democracy and social democrat Socialist Labour Party. A decision came after the KD refused to enter yet another coalition with the Civil Libertarian Party, ending a long-lasting relationship between the two parties. Due to the centrist and pragmatic nature of the country's oldest still operating party, KD has expressed their support and opened doors for a coalition with the two left-wing parties. When asked by the Eguneroko Posta about it, KE's leader told us that his party, "even if deeply disagreeing with KD's ideas and principles, will not throw the chance of a meaningful change and give it away to the neoliberal right-wing", formally confirming a start of negotiations.

Soon, leaders of the three parties would publicly announce the agreement, thanking each other's parties for "such an easy yet constructive formation process". Kundrati Together, as the largest party of the newly-formed government, would take the position of the Prime Minister and 5 additional ministries, KD would occupy 6 as well, while SLP would have control over just 3 portfolios. Arrieta told the press that his party advocated for a fair distribution of the ministries and prevented democrats from controlling "The Big Three": foreign, defence and finance. "We respect KD's almost identical size of representation in the legislature, but we do not think that sole party can control those three. If something, we would advocate for establishing a rule on giving each of those to a separate party, but if not, we still think it would be too much for someone alone to control".

While the new government is about to be inaugurated, the challenges they face will be hard to avoid: recovering a post-war Kundrati financially, developing infrastructure, education and international affairs will continue being the main agenda of the red-blue-orange coalition.

Rural Schools to receive modernizations as MoE Ikaro Cearza pushes reformist agenda.

March 16th, 5465

While Kundratijan Education is remarkably solid, whether it be in Kasaema, Jildrati City or even Aethansk, the same cannot exactly be said for education quality in rural Kundrati. The recently inaugerated Minister of Education, Ikaro Cearza has made it a personal mission to rectify this wrong and bring rural education to the same level as experienced in urban cities. The first move made has been to raise the quality by increasing the education infrastructure. As it stands, rural education is quite poor. Whether it be due to low salaries for teachers or poor equipment that is in low quality.

The first step is to begin immediate modernizations of classrooms. New equipment is to provided for rural classrooms to properly ensure adequate quality education. Alongside that, to promote teachers to stay in rural communities or move to rural communities, a new incentive has been proposed; the raising of wages. By increasing wages, it can serve as an adequate incentive for teachers to stay and teach in rural communities or move to rural communities and combined with modern equipment, the opportunity for rural education to rise is certainly there.

Regardless, by attempting to raise the quality of education in rural areas, the potential for it to snowball into boons for the nation is there as by allowing rural areas to stand as equals to their urban counterparts, the possibility of economic growth is possible with more better education students. Whatever the case, Ikaro Cearza has made moves to change the current status quo for rural education and make a meaningful impact in Kundratijan society.
"Yet I am here, and here I shall remain to behold the world in all it's beauty."

"Artania for Artanians" summit opens with the significant controversy surrounding Hosian priest Ian Jaloniensky
[11 July 5466]

The Artania for Artanians summit opened today at the Radkovice International Conference Center. Opening speaker and famed Hosian priest from the area Ian Jaloniensky stated that Majatrans and Dovanians were ruining and taking advantage of Artania and that "...we Artanians must forever reject the word of those who are not from our continent..." to loud applause in the packed Grand Hall, which seats 3,000 people.

Jaloniensky continued, stating that the war in Kirlawa, which ended more than a decade ago, "...was right for everyone. Kundrati must show their arms to nations who think they can push us around. Artania has become weak and full of wimps, always saying yes to Yishelem or Tian'an. No more!" also too loud applause. The quotes were the theme for the event, and other speakers continued with the theme, with one speaker even going so far as to say that Kundrati should develop nuclear weapons and drop them on Tian'an and other countries who push Kundrati around, so they call it.

The Artania for Artanians event is a four-day summit of mostly far-right individuals who promote a far-right viewpoint that Artania should be the dominant power over others, akin to the colonial era of long ago when nations like Luthori and Selucia split up Dovani and Seleya into spheres of their influence. While Kundrati has not had any colonies of its own, the far-right like Jaloniensky seem to promote the idea that Kundrati should have its sphere of influence "...from Dorvik to Endralon, Davostag, and Hutori to Aldegar...". The summit also includes an exhibition area for the far-right to promote their products, notably a show called Binzilla parodies a famous Luthorian children's show.

Jaloniensky ended his speech with a few choice words for Yingdala and people from Dovani: "...and to those who want to throw mud at me. I believe in the rule of law. I believe all of us believe that all of us are Gods and every human is a God. They give power to others and take it back when it is not worthy of them. Yingdalans might say this is anarchy, but they have never heard of the word before! They should submit to Artania and be silent before [on behalf of the Kasaema Guardian, the rest of the speech is censored]. Glory to Artania!"

Government officials have declined to comment except for one nameless individual who stated that these comments and the entire Artania for Artanians summit may run afoul of the Human Security Act of 5327 through section 1.2 "e) Harmful actions against the State or its institutions, legislative, executive, or judicial powers" and that Jaloniensky could risk himself being charged under this act.

The head of the Artania for Artanians summit, Mikhail Mikhail, has stated that these comments may be out of line but that free speech should not be rejected or damaged. Mikhail has also said he will not remove the priest from the event. The event has garnered much controversy within the Kundrati internet and local social media for the inherent nature of these comments, with many pointing out the comments being racist and potentially causing other countries to respond in kind. Most online users agree with this sentiment; however, some fights are going on on local social media over the event.

The event is expected to last until 14 July.

KirKu announces major expansion into White Ocean
[12 July 5466]

It was thought that Dorvish oil was only the realm for Dorvik and her allies and that Artanians would consume the supply and be content with it, yet ever since the decline of Dorvish power, not many people have been using up new oil from the White Ocean - even as they continue to drink up with what the Vamaj offers or what remains left in Dorvish oil supplies that haven't been sold already.

Yet in 5460, the Kirlawan-Kundrati Company (KirKu) announced a big project: building an oil rig in the White Ocean. The oil rig was completed by 5465 and produced much oil and natural gas. Both countries lack oil or natural gas deposits and rely on uranium and other metals for energy.

It was announced today that ten more oil rigs would be built in the White Ocean near the Dorvish EEZ after the success of the Solidarity oil rig. The company stated that the success of Solidarity has ensured that the KirKu business will make enough profit to outweigh the cost of constructing these rigs, estimated to be in the billions of Francs. These latest oil rigs are expected to begin construction as soon as sites for these oil rigs have been selected and planned out months in advance, with the last of these oil rigs expected to be available by 5480 to 5485.
