It was a long while since the last update by the esteemed* Kasaema Guardian, as Kundrati and Luthorian forces were stuck in Telon and Luthi, two major cities on the road to capturing the Kirlawan junta. Some great news came on 1 August when both towns were taken as, in Telon, an air campaign by both Luthori and Kundrati ensured that the city would be taken quickly as military targets continued to be submerged in fire. The KuNS Quintinus Vespacius and the accompanying carrier force also dropped anchor at Abhama., The city was under siege for most of the week from 1 August to 8 August as a bridgehead was attempted in that city. The city fell on 9 August as reinforcements came from Peghonai.
From that point on, the focus was on Cadoria and Eimhodha. Forces were split in half to take both cities, as troops from Telon marched towards Chrisalya and troops from Luthi headed to Cadoria. The carrier force also worked on bombarding Eimhodha to submission to ensure the campaign had a much easier time there.
Before we talk about the results of that campaign, we have to talk about the air campaign and some significant successes there. Air superiority had already been reached in Chromide and Valreata; however, getting to Luthi and Telon had been tough. However, with these two cities falling, an entire Kirlawan state was now under firm air superiority of the Kundrati and Luthori Air Forces. Work was done now to deal with Chrisalya and Eimhodha to assist the ground forces in attaining victory there. With the carrier force and its planes, this was a more straightforward job now that Abhama's air superiority was given to Kundrati and Luthori.
This meant that Eimhodha, Cadoria, and Chrisalya would now be subject to heavy bombardment from the air, the ground, and the sea in Eimhodha and Chrisalya. This produced a stream of refugees heading all over the place, which also helped to hinder the ground operation as refugees had to be taken and categorized and sent to Kundrati proper or other countries. It has been estimated that tens of thousands of Kirlawans are already in Kundrati, potentially hundreds of thousands following suit to Kirlawa's neighbors. Humanitarian assistance to these refugees has been hampered by the number of those affected, even now, as Kundrati struggles to grasp the humanitarian side of the operation. It has been promised that more resources will be provided to the refugees in due course as scenes of Kirlawans on the street begging for food and money are becoming common in Peghonai and north-western Lirnak with shelters and food banks being full and having long lines.
Nonetheless, the military campaign trudged onward. On 10 August, Kundrati forces surrounded Cadoria and Eimhodha via Abhama and Luthi. This campaign took some days to complete, with high casualties on both sides due to some Kirlawan resistance being fierce and bloody. However, on 14 August, Cadoria fell to Kundrati forces as paratroopers were dropped all around the city, urging the rest of Kundrati forces to charge towards the town, which was successful. The same day, Chrisalya fell due to continuous naval and air bombardment, which allowed the Kundrati and Luthori forces to enter the city. Upon hearing the news of Cadoria and Chrisalya on 15 August, Eimhodha opened their gates in surrender.
Thus, today was focused on cleaning up the mess made in the abovementioned cities and moving towards Nacuadha and Nisira. Air assets have been working on disarming air defenses in the two cities throughout today, alongside gathering more intelligence in Kirla and the two cities already mentioned. It is expected that Kundrati forces could begin an attack later in the week.
